Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Zanesville – 2024

Really fun place a bit off the beaten path which is helpful when trying to miss a crowd. The food is pretty good. We got items that were fried. I think the oil needed changed. I had the fish sub nothing really to it just a lot of bread and a piece of fish. The pizza was a great individual size for my kid. I liked the live music outside. Overall I will come back and suggest.

This review is only for a delivery pizza. I've always heard it's a good spot for pizza, so I tried the pizza I base all pizzas equally on: a large pepperoni with banana peppers. Let's start with the good: the sauce is good enough for my taste, with a little zing and not too sweet. The cheese seems to be of good quality, and the toppings were generous but not quite rising to plentiful. Now for the bad: this was a build-your-own pizza, and the marketing says this is a homemade crust. I would have to see it being made to believe that claim. My wife, who has worked at three pizza shops, agreed and flat-out said this is a frozen crust. My wife's and my second issue is the pizza, like so many in this area, was underbaked. The crust was actually slightly doughy in parts. Final assessment, it's decent bar pizza, this is not a pizza shop which I hold to a slightly higher standard. If I was a few beers into my night with friends, I'd be happy with this.

I was in the area n searched for best burgers in the area on Google. This place came up, so I gave it a shot. Admittedly, I ended up peering at the menu and decided on a chicken wrap as I noticed another customer have one. It was just as delicious as it appeared. The atmosphere was absolutely perfect for my liking. The places offers a family-friendly environment and a separate area for the more adventurous crowd with a full service bar.

Food was Excellent I got the full rack of ribs with steak fries and baked potato. Great service

My brother and I went here yesterday and were VERY pleased with our visit. It seemed VERY busy before we walked in, but they sat us down instantly. Our waiter, Taylor, was an AMAZING guy and made us feel valued and important. His light attitude and quick wit had my brother and I laughing and smiling during our whole visit. Food was phenomenal and came out pretty quickly. We had an amazing experience and will be back soon. ☺️

Nice tavern me and the boyfriend always stop here whenever we are in town. Beers always ice cold . The staff is so personable and sweet. Highly recommend if you enjoy a nice atmosphere. Indoor and patio available.

Excellent spot by my brother. We stopped here on our road trip and had a great pint and other drinks. Staff were excellent and people were very welcoming... Here's to our trip next year!

Looks like a dive bar on the river - and it is, but in the good way! Friendly service, solid bar food. Good prices.

I stopped in here for the first time last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The owner was very friendly and helpful answering all our questions. The jerk chicken was delicious. The cabbage was my favorite side but the rice and beans were all flavorful. The fried plantains were excellent and probably my favorite out of what I tried. The sweet potato pudding had a very unique flavor and was not something I had tried before. This is a must try if you are in Zanesville and a place I will definitely be returning to sample more of the menu.

A family member and I chose this place as a middle point to meet. We each drove an hour and a half from opposite directions and we chose this establishment to eat. We agreed, after our experience with the owner and the food, we will return and this will be the designated meeting spot from now on! The food was very well prepared and fresh! The curry goat was mild but flavorful and incredibly creamy and tender. The oxtail was absolutely out of this world. My only gripe is I should have bought more to take home but I didn’t have a cooler. The jerked chicken was tender, flavorful and addictive. The rice and beans, although simple, was full of flavor and fresh. The cabbage was the spotlight for us. That was the first thing we each finished. I’m not sure what all spices were in it, all I know is I wanted to eat more but I was just too full!!! Fried plantains and the sweet potato pudding were so perfect to end a very perfect meal. The owner was so incredibly kind. I asked if it was ok if my party sat and chatted and how we both drove from far away and he said we could continue to sit and talk so my family and I could catch up with one another. This place is a diamond in the rough. I have a Caribbean place near where I live and it is not nearly as delicious nor authentic as Tapas Caribbean Kitchen. Bravo!!!!! I cannot wait to come back!!!!!

Food was amazing, atmosphere was great!! Owner was super nice hands down delicious. If I could rate this more than a 5star I would. We got jerk chicken, curry chicken, cabbage, rice and coleslaw.

Ok this was one of my top 5 worse meals . First we started with loaded nachos.they came out in 35 minutes . Just look at picture and portion size . Oh yes no plates for each of us . At same time we ordered 2 perch meals with Coleslaw and fries , and a fried chicken sandwich well 45 minutes later she came and said we only have enough coleslaw for one order , so I chose Mac and Cheese . Big mistake . 20 minutes later the two dinners came out and she said the sandwich would come out shortly . The sandwich came out 20minutes later . Just remember we where the only ones ordering food . Well the coleslaw came out in a bowel half full , Mac and Cheese came out like soup with a fork to eat it . We couldn't even eat the perch it was so fishy tasting just old old fish . The chicken sandwich my grandson said was like card board . Again look at pictures terrible . I would never recommend this place .

The food was so good the seasoning on the chicken was super. The fries tasted great. Drinks are good and dont taste like rubbing Alcohol. Come eat and enjoy the atmosphere

Finally got to try Russo’s today, so glad they’ve opened up on Mondays. They have lots of specials throughout the week that help make it affordable!! Tried the Mac Attack and Meats (with no ham), both were delicious!!! The crust is great and really enjoy the garlic in the Mac and cheese. Sadly, my Mac was on the cold side, and the meats pizza was rather greasy. Other than that, the flavor was amazing and I would definitely be back. I also enjoy the options for “full service” vs “serve yourself”.

Stopped in here for a late supper on a Sunday eve. Quiet little spot with surprisingly good pizza. Also sampled the meatball, which was excellent, and The Mix salad - crunchy, healthy blend of veggies, cranberries & nuts with grilled chicken. Delicious craft beer made the perfect balance. I don't live in Zanesville but if I did, I'd be back!

Great little place that needs to be better known. Wood fired pizzas and pasta with meatballs were great, but the most memorable was the warm chocolate chip cookie topped with Tom's ice cream. You can't miss with this place.

Stopped here for brunch on Sunday morning. It wasn’t too busy and the service was okay. I had the special which was a French toast sandwich. It had was French toast with eggs, sausage, ham and cheese. It was a tasty combo.

The food and service was excellent. Our server took care of us so well as we weren't used to this. This was my first visit, and my wife had been here with friends from work. There is plenty of room for bigger groups and a good number of food choices.

Went to Rake's Place yesterday with a couple of coworkers and I was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. It is a really cool place from the main dining area, to the wrap around bar room, to the outdoor seating with garage doors. All the decor is really cool as well. The whole place was really clean and just looked really sharp. The food was fantastic. Everything came out quick and was absolutely delicious. Beyond that the people were just awesome. Staff was very freindly and attentive. We met with Michelle at the end and she was awesome! It's easy to tell the culture in here is incredibly strong and everyone is very proud of the guest experience they deliver. Will be back even though it's far away!

If you’re looking for a chill dine in spot or want something quick, easy, and delicious, then this is the spot for you. Never a bad experience here. They have party rooms for any birthdays or get together, and they are constantly replacing the food with hot fresh food. You can literally see the steam coming off of the food in the pictures I’ve added. The owners are also very hard workers who do anything they can to ensure the customers satisfaction. Food is always steaming hot and fresh! The hostess is also super hot, check it out! The only people who ever leave bad reviews for this place are the ones who are trying to get a free meal. It’s already cheap and affordable to begin with!

I was super excited to check out this buffet. Everything was good, and could have been great, but a lot of the items were not hot. They were just warm. Some of the fried breaded meats were soft, like they were sitting out a while. The variety was great, with Chinese and American dishes, a salad and dessert bar. I was there around 1:30, so next time I will try to get there closer to lunch and see if the meats are fresher. Overall Rating - 3.8

Variety of food was excellent. On this day(Saturday) they had frog legs. Yeah I am a happy camper. They were seasoned well and cooked with bell peper and onions. They were tender and just delicious JMO. I had cheesecake for dessert and it was good also. this place gets a big thumbs up. OH and I had togo and 3 lb cost just over $21. I think buffet is like $12, maybe.

I took my wife and two kids out to eat as a last minute decision. It was later in the evening and are choices were somewhat limited. Thankfully we found this olive garden that was open until 23:00. Everything about the place was great. Great service, food was good, and the overall atmosphere was laid back and inviting. My wife had one cocktail and I had two, on top of four meals and our check was just over $100. We'll definitely be back.

My father and I went in for his complimentary meal for veterans Day and Wow, just wow! The hostesses were very courteous and kind. We had a very short wait. Now the good parts.... Our server.... Adilyn... Not sure of the spelling, however this young lady was amazing. I have it dined out and had such great service and such a long time. I want to honestly compliment her parents for raising such an outstanding young lady. Thank you for such awesome service. You dear will do great things!!!

Had a lovely dinner for my daughter's 5th birthday. Everything tasted great, and the service was very good. The young blonde waitress (Valerie) was kind and sweet. Would recommend!

First time to this place. Service was good and server was attentive. Was quite disappointed with the cleanliness and food quality. The plates and cups were very dirty, although the silverware seemed clean. The mashed potatoes were obviously fake and even had powdery spots in them. There was more gravy than potatoes, which wasn't appealing. The steaks were decent, but the fries tasted like they came straight from a bag. Overall, not a pleasant dining experience.

Have driven past this restaurant for 20 plus years and finally had the time to give it a go, should have stopped in years ago to say the least. When we walked in don't get me wrong first response was wow this place is dated and tired on sheer appearance alone. First the menu is huge in selection, if you can't find something to eat on it your not hungry. From salad to seafood they do have a meal for you. I'm not a big fan of fried/ breaded seaside fare but still ordered shrimp to complement my New York strip steak meal baked potato and side salad. All 3 steaks that were ordered and brought to the table were cooked proper and presentation was great. Salad was mainly lettuce and cheese which I wasn't a fan of(would like a little variety in a salad myself). The outside patio looked like a great place to enjoy a meal and drinks in the warmer weather rainy and cold so didn't get to experience that last night. Wait staff was super friendly and made sure we were happy and needs taken care of throughout the dining adventure might be a little loud at times but what place doesn't have this from time to time. I do have to admit we have a family member that works in the kitchen area but she didn't even realize we were there till after the meal. Thanks Barb for visiting the table and making sure we were treated great. Only thing i would mention to the owner is that the lighting on the entrance was a bit hard to see in the rain. Overall we enjoyed it and will be back, if you have the time and want a great meal give it a visit.

This was such a nice place to eat and spend time with my husband. It was a little loud when we first arrived, but within 10 minutes the crowd changed and it was wonderful. The waitress was polite and quick, the food came out quickly and was delicious. The price was really good as well. With the rising cost of going out to eat, it wasn't too bad ($27 for both of us) We will definitely be planning to go back again and would recommend to others.

We haven’t been to the Market House Inn for a couple years. We decided to try happy hour yesterday. The happy hour has changed since our last visit. No more shrimp on the happy hour menu. We tried the pizza and spaghetti. Pizza was great. My homemade spaghetti is twice as good as their spaghetti. The bread was amazing. We each ordered salads. I asked for blue cheese dressing. She brought out a small serving of it and I was charged $3.00 for the dressing above the price of an average salad. The happy hour beer was only $2.00. Service was a little slow. The place is still a cool and unique dining experience but the little things add up and detract from the overall experience .

If you are a single traveler and find yourself in the small town of Zanesville Ohio and you want to first class meal consider the Old Market House Inn. I had the filet mignon with South African cold water lobster tails and both were delicious. You can cut the filet with your fork, seriously, I tried it. Ronnie and Montana will treat you right. Lone Travelers should consider eating at the Old Market House Inn restaurant in Zanesville, Ohio and the locals should put it on their favorites list. Oh yeah, try the mud pie for desert.

Loved the Clams Casino! Love the specials, and as always the service is top of the line!! The food is awesome! Our waitress did a fantastic job. She was pleasant and was knowledgeable about the menu. We were there Tuesday evening around 4:30pm. Nicole did a great job. Thanks

It was a birthday dinner that brought us all the way to Muddy Misers. So I'll start out with location. I wasn't sure GPS was taking me to the right spot.. It did so if you are using a GPS just follow it. The setting on the their is really nice now because it was like a blast furnace outside we opted to eat inside. The wait staff were pleasant and our server Erica was on it. She kept everything flowing smoothly and was attentive but not overbearing. The food was delicious we enjoyed the fried green tomatoes and craw tails as appetizers. We had a party of five and had everything from the full rack of ribs.. Which the meat was fall off the bone tender. To the crab cakes with their Mac n cheese... Which way the type of that would cause a diabetic to take an extra shot of insulin. The shrimp fettuccine..shrimp...those were more like meat prawns. To the po boy everything was great. Also the mango whiskey smash and there was a watermelon strawberry sangria that was dangerously good. Fair warning we had a group of five and if one person is picking up the tab... Be prepared, but if you are going Dutch the cost is reasonable. I would say get there early, or prepare to wait.

My girlfriend and I were traveling from Tennessee to photograph a wedding. When we got to Nashport, we found Muddy Misers. The food was phenomenal, I had the lobster ravioli and my girlfriend had the lemon pepper chicken, both of which were great. Between the two of us we probably drank a gallon of raspberry tea. We finished off dinner with a great piece of peanut butter pie. Secondly, the service was nothing short of Excellent. Our waitress, Tara Clark, was one of the best waitresses I have ever had. She was incredibly kind and great with her advice on the menu. Cannot recommend more.

Had a really sweet waitress name Erika, she was great ! Our view was right on the river. We ordered the bruschetta, ribeye sandwich and the Asian chicken salad. The Asian chicken salad was great however the ribeye with the Mac n cheese was not so good. Definitely going to visit again and try something else!

I haven't been here in years. I was in town and wanted lunch but I didn't want fast food. I was near Longhorn so I decided to look up their menu and see if they had any lunch specials. I got the crispy chicken sandwich and a salad for only $8.99!! The sandwich was huge and tasted really good. It was packaged to where you could make your own sandwich with the onions, lettuce etc on the side. Loved that. The salad was a decent size and very good. I was not expecting a whole loaf of their bread. I thought it was just going to be a couple pieces so that was a fun surprise pulling that out of the bag! Everything was packaged very nicely and organized and also everything was correct. Curbside pick up was fast and convenient. Worker was nice. I will definitely get lunch here again next time in in town. The price was very affordable.

Our food was excellent. My husband got a steak and I got the salmon. Best I've had in a long time. We sat at the bar Amy was our server. She was a breath of fresh air after my doctor's appointment. Thank you for the great service Amy. We will definitely be back.

Normally this is a good place for lamb chops. NOT TODAY. I ordered them well done but they served me charcoal. 2 of the 5 lamb chops were BURNT! I got it to go so I didn't drive back to complain or get refund. My problem is that the cook thought this was okay to serve to a customer. I like eating at Longhorn Steak house but today put a dent in my thoughts of this place. Very Disappointed!

Went here for a late evening margarita and nachos. The good: Extremely fast, food, drinks, check. Everything was fast. The chicken on the nachos was pretty tasty. The melty cheese was also quite good. The "hot" salsa by special request was amazing. Regular margaritas were good. Side note: We ordered a medium and a large...apparently they are the same size??? The bad: Nachos only come with chips, cheese and whatever meat you order. No peppers, no tomatoes, no beans, nothing. Salsa is pretty meh. Needs doctoring to be tasty. It is NOISY with all the happy birthday singing and whistling. The really bad: The pushing to get you out of the restaurant. Everything was super rushed. Maybe it was our waitress. Maybe it's the design of from management. It did not lend itself to a nice evening drink and a snackl

Place had a few customers. Bar was closed off for renovations by tarp while customers listened to hammers and drills. The older couple in front of me were allowed to have a tiny chihuahua be with them, which is prohibited in restaurants by the health dept. Food wasn't bad and served hot! I ordered by a picture because I don't speak Spanish.

What happened to this place?!?! It's gone downhill! I wrote a review 7 years ago because it used to be great... not now! I arrived at 1:30 for lunch, was given a dinner menu. Had to ask for a lunch menu. They brought out the chips and salsa... the chips were not like they used to be... they were the stale cheap tasting store version, totally nasty! I really like chips and beans! Ordered a Mini Fajita Quesadilla (which was very good) with beans, they served me rice. They brought me beans (which were very runny) on the side and charged me for them... grrr. It was there fault for giving me rice! Doubt I will go back.
