Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Taunton – 2024

Jake, the youthful and engaging bartender, was unbelievable pleasant- and that’s not just for east coast expectations! (I’m from the PNW) the grilled cheese with berries and goat cheese was the perfect comfort food- perfect combo of ingredients. The maple old fashioned was lovely as well! Absolutely would come back!

My family of four was sent to Union Straw by the Old Colony Museum. We were looking for a late lunch and sat immediately. Only a few other patrons were there and Alex was our server. From the moment we sat down, we received great service and attentive care regarding what to order off the menu. We each chose well, including the chicken and waffles and the turkey sandwich. The food came out fast and hot, and everything was delicious! The waffles were made from scratch and all the sauces were scratch made. We each cleaned our plates and every bite was amazing. Alex took great care of our table while not being intrusive. He recommended dessert and we devoured the apple bread pudding and a strawberry shortcake. Again, the taste is incredible and everything is obviously made from scratch, including the biscuits. We live too far to visit regularly, but the next time we are close enough in Massachusetts to stop by, we will definitely come again.

Service: Staff are chill and down to earth. Alex at the bar so nice & knowledgeable! Atmosphere: it’s a vibe. Hidden gem near the green. Interior rustic comf.

I went to this place yesterday I never heard of this place till yesterday. The place was amazing the bartender who took my order was very nice very friendly. She took my order within mins of getting at the bar. It was also slow and not rly busy it was around 4:30. I ordered the brisket sandwich and fries. Omg it was amazing I used some of the BBQ sauce on my fries which added to the flavor. The sandwich I also added a lil sauce and it was delicious. The bartender who served me was keila and with her and the amazing food I will be back. This place had great food so hats off to the amazing cooks in the back. 10 out of 10 I'll be back

I can only assume they have completely given up on there food. Mac and cheese, not heated up, just put in container, you can see the cheese is still separated , the worst Mac and cheese my wife has ever tasted,pretzel dip was obviously microwaved with lid on, and way over nuked, look at the lid. Also tasted foul. Coleslaw smelled sour, the overall vibe was of people who don’t want to be there. I’m going to go out on limb here and say this store probably isn’t going to be around much longer

Food was amazing after a long day of Christmas Shopping. Came out exactly how we wanted it. Our server, Ava, was the absolute sweetest. Make sure to ask for her when you come here! You will be sure to get the best service ever

I had to do a before and after! I thought it would let you know how delectable and deliciously rich this food was! Amazing I will take the drive back! Oh and don’t let me forget the decor!! Top Notch

Riverhouse is a great spot in Taunton. The atmosphere and decor is top notch. Feels like a northern lodge inside and on their patio they have seating that overlooks the sleepy Taunton River. Been a few times for lunch. The Mac and cheese is always a solid choice. The Mac attack nachos are phenomenal, although I find $24 to be quite steep for nachos with ground beef and some veggies. I love a good haddock sandwich, but I’m not a fan of how they prepare it here. The coleslaw is on the sandwich and grilled with it. This adds a strange soggy texture and flavor. They have a great drink menu and the flights are great. Service is always outstanding.

Been there about 3 or 4 times and it's always been a great experience. We had Liz as our Bartender and she was great. Everyone seemed happy to be there and full of life. The Manager seemed to be helping and making sure the employees and guests were taken care of. Great place to stop for a burger and beer or just a few drinks with friends. Sit at the Bar is you can that's where all the magic happens

Many meals have been enjoyed from med grill. I enjoy everything I have ever ordered. Tangy gold chicken pizza is a must order. We love going here or ordering take out to bring home.

My name is Erika. I orderd medium rare kebabs to take out. When I picked up and the food was mostly burned. The kebabs and the pita slices were almost completely burned, so we couldn't eat them. So disappointed as it was my first time eating from Mediterranean Bar &Grill. I am not happy with the food l do not recommend this place.

Just ate there after haven’t been in years. I was going for the braised lamb shank. And whatever floated my boat. After ordering the Lamb Shank and little necks, everything’s great. Except I ask for more napkins and do y get them or service for a good 10 mins. It’s 4pm. Not busy. Great so the little necks are great. Waitress comes over says “Can I get you anything else?” No. Lays down the check. I said “I guess you didn’t have the Lamb Shank?” And she said “Yes we did. I thought you didn’t want to order it.” Huh? When I say I can specifically for that item? I didn’t come for her blank stare and telling me that it was MY mistake because I ordered and app and she thought I changed my mind. Hey! Here’s a thought: let the customer know that the lamb shank is or isn’t on the way, maybe talk it up a little bit? This waitress was like pulling teeth. I still give 20% cash because no big deal. But it was not a good experience and I won’t be going back unfortunately.

Our group of ladies had a celebration dinner here. Everything was wonderful the food was excellent. The service was amazing. Casey a waitress when above and beyond to make sure I evening was perfect. The entire staff was accommodating and friendly.

We've been there a couple times, the food is usually pretty good, four star plates. The seating is always a bit squished between beams, which is not the most comfortable. This time we went had the appetizer sampler, Veal Florentine, Chicken marsala, Chicken Saltimbocca, and kids pasta/meatballs. They serve them over pasta though we'd prefer potato and veg with any of them. It was good overall though.

I just wanted to say that this place is beautiful inside and out. Amazing...Atmosphere was hip and soothing. Bartender Brittany did an outstanding job. The food was even better I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I give this place 9 out of 10 stars Great Job Shane

My father and I have been coming here for years! Today we celebrated my birthday with lunch and they put a “happy birthday” sign up for me! The food is always amazing. Great prices and portion sizes! The service is always outstanding! Shout out to Marie for being so kind today and singing along with my dad with a dessert at the end of the meal! She’s a great server!!! Love love love this place and will always come back!

I had a pretty nice experience. The server was great. Everyone is really attentive. My food came out quickly and it was hot. I enjoyed the French onion soup. I also really really love the shrimp Mozambique Portuguese bowl they have. It was too much for me and I had to take it to go. But I'm so happy I have some more to eat, also the view from inside the restaurant of the lake is really special. I enjoyed that as well. There is lots of room inside large parties. Was a lot of fun for me even just by myself. I tried the Wildberry beer. Amazing. Smooth.

Went to check out their new gluten friendly menu and was lucky enough to get Allison as a waitress. She was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The cheese pizza was fine. They make a great Shirley temple. I will probably go back

Come on. South Shore Bar Pizza let’s go! You’ll get what you’re looking for if (you know what you’re looking for) Great undercarriage crispy edges no flop and good on sauce. Don’t be afraid to add your own ingredients as well. We went on a Friday night and they had a ton of take out so the kitchen was a little behind but you’re not going to mind waiting for a few. Definitely worth a trip to Taunton. Honorable mention for the clam chowder.

Have been wanting to try bar pizza from mass for awhile now, I was in the area and it's was lunch time so I definitely had to make a stop here. Took a look at the menu and ordered the bar pizza with feta, Roni and chorizo which was delicious and also ordered some onion rings. Everything was delicious .

This used to be affordable,because of the Dems and Joe/Kameltoe the Kameleon its no longer THAT way

I ordered take out for a Mediterranean themed movie night at home: Spanakopita, Mezze Plate, Rice Pilaf, Gigantes, Crete Gyro & Baklava. Everything was fantastic & very reasonably priced. The young lady working there today was thorough as she checked my order twice to ensure everything was in the bag. I really appreciated that ❤️ Would highly recommend!

First time going. Got the beef gyro Naxos, which was GREAT. But the dessert was AWESOME! ALL their desserts and bread for the gyros are freshly made from Greece! How authentic is that??? Will go back again to try other options on the menu.

Very laid back, kind staff, plenty of seating. Always busy and we wanted to check out based on ratings. Fried clams were so delicately fried and fried food usually bothers me and I had no issues. Super yummy. My Shirley temple was also excellently mixed and not overly sweet from too much grenadine. I will definitely return.

I went to this place for the first time this year and I love the look that they have and how they have enough seating. I had a cheeseburger which was great and I tried my husband's fries and my niece's chicken tenders which were delicious also!!! My husband, sister and I wanted dessert so we ordered three fried dough sundaes once we were done with our meals. When my sister placed the order the girl that was going to prepare them had an attitude and was complaining that we ordered three. I was really upset but patiently waited over 20 minutes for them which was not a problem at all. Once we received them and opened them; they all looked like the picture posted which was upsetting because I think presentation goes a long way. I believe the girl should have waited until the dough cooled down a little bit since she was already not happy then it showed in her presentation. The dough was delicious but I can't really comment about the ice cream yet. No matter what I will try them again when they open back up next year.

Cozy atmosphere. The employees are friendly and they don't seem to rush you. They definitely exercise a lot of patience. The ice cream was delicious. Also, I took an ice cream in a bowl to take to my husband. It was a 20min drive and the ice-cream barely melted! Impressive!

My husband and I were passing through town from out of state and stopped in for dinner. We were sure glad we did! As soon as we entered this charming place we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The server Fernando was extremely polite, friendly, and attentive without being at all intrusive. The free (warm) chips and fresh salsa were a delicious starter, and the house Margarita was spot on. Our entrees were excellent and generously portioned. Honestly I've never had better fish tacos. Taunton is a lucky community to have this gem!

Went to just stop in to see friends, ended up staying for the food and company! Portions were huge!! And so good!

We had my boyfriend’s daughter’s baby shower yesterday. We had DeAvila’s cater the event for about 40 (adults and kids). They delivered on time, set every thing up for us and provided napkins plates bowls etc. Everyone enjoyed the food. We will be using them again in the future! I attached a few pics, however we were still setting up.

One of my favorite breakfast spots in the area. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. The staff is super friendly, which makes the short wait, worth it.

Cozy environment, with a phenomenal wait staff. It was busy but the attention we received was amazing, felt like a 5 star service without the heavy price tag. Food and coffee was delicious, my belly was happy. Thank you for bringing back family style dining.

Was passing through on a road trip and decided to stop here on a whim. The restaurant feels very organized and homey. Nice clean bathrooms. My server Stephanie was great and had the perfect attentiveness, I didn't feel over asked or neglected at any point. I got the chicken waffles and rosemary potatoes, both of which were excellent. My only critique would be that the waffle itself was a bit too sweet for my taste, there was crystallized sugar on the side which almost made it feel like a donut. Overall very satisfied :)

We had five people, and e eryone was happy with their food. You can't beat the app special on Mondays. Drinks could have been stronger, and the bottled beer definitely could have been colder. Casey was our server, and she was a hot shit. She was very attentive to us. She was always looking over to see if we needed anything.

Went for lunch on an overcast Sunday and beat the rush. He went with the Brack's Old Fashioned (2 of them) and I tried the Cocoberry Margarita (SO good). The brisket poutine was delish. My only shot at a complaint is that we didn't know how filling it would be and didn't need to order entrees, lol. He ordered the bourbon bacon burger, I went with the turkey avocado BLT (I suggest toasting the bread). There was a miscommunication with my order that was fixed immediately, and we were more than amply compensated. I was going between 4 and 5 stars, but the customer service was great and couldn't settle for 4.

Stopped at this place while working out of town and saw that they offered a 34.99 prime beef meal that invluded a 3 course with sides dessert and salad or soup and clear as day said until 9/2. When I walked I wanted that particular dinner and was told by the waitress that it was not available.......and that's the only bad thing I can say about the place.......the food was amazing and that steak sauce with the horseradish was great and the perfect complement of mashed potatoes yo finish off the dish.

To go service: I understand short staffing, I understand mistakes happen, however when it seems to be the same mistakes even when ordering almost at least 6months apart, that’s just laziness, lack of attention, and zero customer care. I know it’s not a tipping issue because there’s been times where I’ve tipped 22% on a to-go order and still had an issue. Also, I have (and still currently do) worked in the food industry for a while now (specializing in to-go in two major restaurants), and the only reason these issues happen is because of the lack of pride in your job (all of these food service jobs are also a second job that is a means to an end, but if it is my responsibility and part of my job description, I will perform my job to the best of my ability and make sure it is done accurately), and management doesn’t care. The food isn’t all that bad, but the fact customers get charged extra for sauces (which is completely understandable), just to not get it is absolutely ridiculous, especially after the order came to $140 before tip! Time and time again, this specific location cannot seem to read a ticket and count the sauces they are bagging (or not considering our order never gets the correct amount of sauces, or if it is the correct amount it is not the correct sauce). One time we were missing a ln entire entree which was corrected. We keep saying no more no more no more from here, but as already said, sometimes you just can’t beat certain tastes and it’s once in a great while we’ll go for some decent pub food. I’m all set from this location after this though. No reason at all I order two extra ranches, and two extra honey mustards, and only receive three extra honey mustards. Four sauces, two of each, just to get only three and they are all the same? This job is not that hard. I’ve done it for years, even during the height of COVID. This poor service makes the entire meal worse off than it sometimes is; leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Especially if customers are paying for it, please, check the chit before you split. Annoyed, Fellow frustrated food service employee P.S. We do not want a meal voucher or any money off our next order because we’re all set. Thanks but no thanks.
