Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Sussex – 2024

Great food! Big portions. No M.S.G. We left without feeling, “UGH!” It was our first time trying here and we will be back. We dined inside and waiters were friendly and sweet and made us feel at home. Clean place and a very busy spot. Sarah was the main waitress/cashier who was really multitasking with constant incoming calls /take out orders and waiting on people that dined in. Despite being really busy she remained professional and sweet. The prices were really good considering how much you get! The female cook that we seen was very kind to customers too and took calls to help when she could.

We ordered the sweet and sour pork and bbq pork chow mein takeout amongst other things. The sweet and sour pork came with no sauce, just a box of fried pork. The chow mein was even more disappointing as there was no noodles and only comprised of bean sprouts and 3-4 slices of bbq pork. Very terrible experience, do not recommend, or triple check your order before you leave.

Discovered this "hidden" gem just off Main St. in Sussex, and it didn't disappoint. Ordered up Combo dinners and the value for amount of great tasting food exceeded our expectations. The service offered by Julie and Becky was accommodating and first rate. Will be back!

I alerted them about bell peppers allergies, they said there’s none but there’s still in the food. I had to leave right away because of the bad reaction.

Nothing but good things to say, we’ve been in to eat and take-out multiple times in the last few weeks, and today was no different. Chelsea was a 1 women army on the floor tending to all the customers, my oldest and I really enjoyed our lunch and Chelsea’s dessert recommendation!! Thank you

I ordered butter chicken the taste was very bad and even taste like butter chicken as well as did not put gravy or sauce. Worst. Staff don't wear gloves while preparing the order

The food was lackluster and greasy. We waited 20 minutes for what looks like a 5 minute stop-and-grab joint. Poutine was ok but not special, donair was just bad

I have ordered from here a couple times in the past & the pizza is "just ok" at best. Today was the first time I stepped inside the location & I will never again order from here. The inside of this place is absolutely disgusting. You can walk in a few steps & it just a counter with the cash register. The floors are dirty, have not been cleaned in a long time, the counter is a mix of dusty/sticky, the cash register is dirty/dusty. You can see a small amount into the kitchen & it looked absolutely disgusting as well from the small amount I could see. If this is how they keep the small area that customers are welcomed into I can only imagine what the rest of this place looks like inside. It does not take much to take a few minutes to sweep & mop a floor, dust & wipe down counters. I left absolutely disgusted & thru my pizza in the garbage once I got home. That is the last dollar you will get from me.

Came up from Amherst. , tried Sussex Pizza, Awesome best pizza I’ve had in quite awhile. Great price . Great service . Highly recommended. We will definitely stop in on our trip though.

Fast and friendly service. A cozy cafe with an art gallery filled with art made by local artisans. A wonderful selection of pottery, fabric arts, and paintings. A real cozy hometown vibe in this place.

What a lovely little cafe attached to an art gallery. Even the tabletops were "artsy". I enjoyed the open faced sandwich on gluten free with goat cheese, feta, balsamic, tomato spread and Kalamata olives. It was so good. Came plated with kettle cooked chips and a side salad. There was so much food on this plate, I could not finish it! If I am in town again this will be a must-stop.

Our waitress, Annie was the sweetest. The food was great, big portions, brought out quickly during a Sunday late morning. We will be back when visiting again!

Great service and good food. My husband and I stopped here on our way to St Andrews. It’s well worth the stop and is a great way to break up the drive between Hopewell Rocks and St Andrews. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re ever in Sussex.

The Falafel Spot is one of our favourite restaurants! Any time we are in Sussex, we are sure to stop by. The restaurant is small but SO inviting. The owners are very friendly and the food is top notch!! We have tried a lot shawarma and a lot of falafel (including in London, UK and California) and this is by far our favourite. We've also had the baklava here before and it also our favourite. Seriously a must try while in Sussex or surrounding communities!

What great place, and the owners are very personable. They want to make sure customers enjoy the food if they haven't had it before. Servings are generous - I was hungry and couldn't quite finish the loaded chicken shawarma on fries. Many vegetarian options. Go here, eat well.

Eaten here hundreds of times for breakfast lunch and dinner and everything is always fantastic and the servers are all amazing especially Kim!! Place is always very clean and the drinks are always A-1! Even stayed til close quite a few weekends and always a fun atmosphere and good music. Definitely stop in!

Saw a sign alongside the highway for this place while hungry, so we got off the highway and found it. Food was excellent.

Absolutely delicious, this food was fantastic. The burger was perfect, huge and delicious. The fajitas were also amazing. Was very well put together and the server had the most awsome attitude.

OH. MY. GOD. I just ordered from Phillys for the first time about 20 minutes ago and let me tell you.. it did not disappoint. I ordered the regular Philly with mozzarella, and the Dilly burger for my hubby and I to share. Both hit out of the park. The flavour is phenomenal. That pickle wedge on top of the burger, to die for. Buns fresher than fresh. I can’t wait to come back!!! Thank you so much, ladies!

The owner and staff are incredible, they treat every customer like family! The food is second to none, everything is made from scratch, right down to roasting turkeys and hams - not your typical deli meat on these subs! Philly sauce is to die for! Edible cookie dough and an ever changing dessert menu that never disappoints

Stopped in on our way to Moncton and my god the food was delicious! I had the Philly cheese and my wife had the donair. The garlic sauce is absolutely fantastic!

I've been buying pizza from here for 20 years. Today, we needed some pizza quickly last minute for a birthday party. These folks cooked us a pizza and garlic fingers and had it delivered to us across town in 17 minutes. That's very fast, and way above expectations. The food was hot and fresh. This really solidified to me why they have been a staple in this town for so long. Thanks again folks! You all deserve raises.

Misleading advertisements. They show 3 individual choices for sauce but only get one plus 2 regular donair sauces... should be illegal to do that. Typical fast food pizza is what it is!

I ordered a oarty pizza tonight and I ordered lite sauce extra cheese payed 30 dollars I don't live close to them I'm a 30 minute drive and there was so much sauce we couldn't even eat it and there was bare spots all over the pizza were there should of been extra cheese very very disappointed

Excellent food! We got the 30 piece classic Maki platter to share. Service was quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable. I would say slightly expensive but honestly that's just normal these days. We will be back!

Picadilly Coffee Roasters is such a welcoming and cozy café! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the lovely staff, who are always friendly and make you feel right at home. The coffee here is phenomenal and has never let me down – whether it's a strong espresso or a smooth latte, every cup is perfection. One of my favorite things about this café is the plants, each of which is named! It’s such a charming and personal touch that makes the space feel even more inviting. Make this stop in Sussex if you appreciate good coffee. I had the Americano. Smooth and tasty. They have tons of amazing seasonal offerings if you like more of a dessert type coffee as well. The atmosphere is excellent. Loads of seating and visually pleasing This was my first visit, and I'll be back every time we go through!

Always the best bar! And the steps they have taken to manage the covid outbreak are incredible! Definetly over and beyond!
