Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Stephenville – 2024

Had two visits here. The first one was really good, had wings and fries. Sauce on the wings was good but they weren't really crispy wings, the fries were nice and crispy. The server did come back a few times to check on us, restaurant was fairly busy but overall everything was good. The second visit was basically trash. Had the "bourbon" chicken. There is absolutely no bourbon on this chicken, it tasted like bland soya sauce. The dish is so pitiful. I honestly didn't even leave full, it's pitiful. It's supposed to come with bell peppers and there were none. I paid $19 for pathetic frozen vegetables, a potato and a carrot chopped up with some kind of sauce that absolutely has nothing to do with bourbon on the very little pieces of dark meat chicken they served. It was absolute trash and the restaurant wasn't even busy and the server literally never came back. Not to ask if we wanted more beer, if our trash meal was good or if we wanted any other trash off that menu. Horrible. There no excuse for not coming back to a table, unless she realized we were served garbage and knew we were gonna say it sucked. Never returning!

It’s a lovely restaurant. Very nice, appearance wise. BUT we had to order 4 times to get a meal that they actually had the ingredients for. They had enough veg for only one meal - a chicken skillet. The veg were broccoli STOCKS, crumbs of chicken and potatoes and a small pieces of peppers ?? I have never heard of potatoes in a skillet meal. If you ran out of veg - maybe go to dominion and restock, it was 7:30pm. We ordered Caesar salads with chicken and they were $17 and the size of a small cereal bowl with one small chicken strip chopped up. ?? Tasty but very skimpy. We are visiting from out of province and was expecting way better. Staff could not comp anything as there was no managers on site. They could only write a note for owners.

We had The Acadian cater our wedding and everything was so delicious. The food showed up on time and was nice and hot and very fresh. The lasagna was a big hit! Doreen was extremely easy to work with and very accommodating. Would certainly recommend and use their service again.

Good service, staff is friendly and nice. strawberry cheesecake ice cream is tasty(had a few bites before took that pic). And the chocolate milkshake is creamy and thick

Was very busy but line moved quickly. Very efficient and great customer service. Prices were decent. Comparable to corner stores that sell ice cream treats.

Fast friendly service. Great food at great prices! This is the only local restaurant that I frequently buy from. The quality, and the quantity of the food are unmatched by any of their competitors (translation = I'm cheap I guess). I haven't had an item here yet that I didn't fully enjoy. The chicken, taters, onion rings, burgers, coleslaw and gravy are all great. About the only one I could do better at home would be the gravy. The wait is nearly always 20-25 minutes from the time you call it in, which is completely understandable for fried chicken. If it's any longer it's only because the place is very popular and you put your order in during the rush so that's not their fault . They never ring up a tip or even leave the option to pay one on the interac machine but there's a good old-fashioned tip jar on the counter so bring a bit of cash for these hard working folks.

Went in today to grab lunch. I am listening to my coworkers talk about how good their meals were. I can't finish it.. it's sooo much. Thanks so much from STRH ER!!

twice now i was told im lucky to get chicken at all because they stop cooking it at 5pm. i have no problem waiting but i was told to wait 15 minutes, over an hour later apparently our order "wasn't taken" was such a great spot but unfortunately the staff are very rude and very absent minded. again, it was my favourite chicken in town, but the service makes it HORRIBLE!

The food was amazing. The workers there treat you like family and overall would love to go there again. If you haven't tried this spot yet, I suggest you try it. They don't disappoint

Asked for vegetarian omelet, not on the menu, and the lady who cooks did an over the top omelet full of cheese and veggies! Then she came out to ask us specifically how it was!! (It was perfect!) She stood there just chatting as if we were old friends. It was awesome!

Tucked inside the Stephenville Airport is a hidden gem of a restaurant. Food was delicious, good sized portions and freshly made. Pork chop dinner and roast beef dinner were our choices and did not disappoint! Service was super! Worth the detour either going to or from the ferry . Bonus you get to explore the airport which is frozen in time - no flights in or out any longer but luggage carts, baggage carousel, seating and checkin desks remain in pristine condition.

Great dining area, friendly staff. I had the 2 Piece Pan Fried Cod. Fish was great! Fries were frozen but they were still good! Topped with dressing and gravy that were also great. Tartar sauce was average. My brother had the Big Boss Burger and my father had the Roast Turkey Dinner both of which were very good as well. The winner of the three was definitely the burger though !

I had the two piece fish and chips. The fish had a very light coating of batter, not what you'd normally expect for deep fried fish, but was delicious because of it. The fries were cooked just the way I like them and I tried an onion ring which was also really good.

The girls were absolutely amazing! I didn't care for the fries or cheese burger but my husband loved his cod and mashed potatoes!

Ok so here before great went in tonight for wings beer vlt machines guess what the vlt are now upstairs in the hotel part. Wented up no one there but could not order wings or food there. Really stupid idea to remove the vlt out of the lower bar where more people go to and play them while they eat etc. I assume use on them will decline and after tonight I will find a new place to eat drink and play. Now clancys is still a great place with good food and wait staff but someone trying to get business upstairs ruined it for some people.

Has potential and very nice clean bar....if they get some things on the go and more friendlier servers that actually talk to their costumers

The club is always too cold. You shouldn't be shivering when in this place. Other than that it would be a great place to visit

They only hire certain types of people (if you know what I mean) and those same people serve poorly made food slopped all over the bag and impossible to differentiate unless you pull apart the burgers. at a price where you would expect higher quailty then the 17 year olds at McDonald’s, but they blow this place out of the water. Plus easily understanding what food is what instead of having to stick your fingers in it. Or if you’re lucky enough to have one with no lettuce or something stupid like that so it’s easy to tell. Moral of the story don’t waste your money here. (60$ for 3 meals. 2 being for children. ) not worth it in the slightest.

Was here to celebrate a birthday, nice ambience since it was renovated last year. clean place, not loud. Server was nice and approachable, food is good, ordered a garlic fingers, fries, nachos and donair pinwheels. it was tasty! we had a good time. we will be back.

Food was good but would love to see more vegetarian or halal options. Service was good, made a mistake ordering a salad that had bacon in it, they were nice enough to return my food and make it without pork and also changing my Cutlery as it Was used on the salad… Atmosphere was good just a bit loud from other patrons. This is one of the better restaurants in the Stephenville area in my opinion, I will be going back.

I wanted to have the Atlantic salmon, but there wasn't an appropriate side dish to go with it, only fries, pasta salad and a few other things but no potato or rice so I ordered the chicken skillet. It was tasty. I'm not sure why there was a side dish with it, but I ordered the pasta salad to take home. The service was great. Very friendly and fairly quick. The prices were pretty good, too. I will go back.

Awesome deal Friday and Saturday nights, $16.50 no tax, for ten wings and two brown bottled beer! Wings were delicious!! Highly recommended, nice place, the girl was working was really nice too.

Two dollars and fifty cents for a bar...five dollars for two chocolate bars...Needless to say...We think that is absolutely reduclious..last time for us

Great food. It does change from time to time though. And the seasonings seem to be a bit lighter than they used to be. If you want Bang for your buck get 2 Mini Mary's and a order of Twists.

Pretty nice place with indoor seating or drive thru if your in a hurry. Food is always great. Chicken or tators is wonderful. Don't forget to use your MB app for deals or secret menu items that you can only get online! Changes every month or so so don't forget to check! September 27th 2024.

Hi….I would like to give this credit to Mark…very nice service he gave us….very friendly.

Stopped in on Friday with family and was served three warm beer. Ordered mild wings and they were more like hot. Told the only waitress thst was serving and she said there was a new cook. Not ok I will take care of it. Sent the beer back and when I looked at the bill they were charging us.

Stopped here on our way to Port Aux Basques to the ferry and was looking forward to trying this place. The servers were friendly and polite, but I had to get up a couple times to ask for things while we were eating. I’ve served off and on for years, so I understand when things are busy, but it wasn’t that busy at all. We had the fish and chips, but the cod fish was bagged pre-battered, frozen fish…not local or fresh fish. That just blows my mind…why aren’t you guys supporting local fisheries? We also had an order of wings, but they were cold and drowned in sauce. Likely because the sauce was dumped right out of the bottle onto the wings. There was enough sauce to coat about 2-3 more orders of wings. Huge waste. The food was disappointing, even for typical pub food. I still tipped 15% because the ladies who served us were very nice, but would’ve tipped more if I didn’t have to get up to ask for things. It’s too bad because we were expecting better from this place after reading the positive reviews.

Great food and place, but that one server named raven white? Very rude. Shouldn’t even be working there (everyone else is great), but yeah she Wrongfully accused me of being someone else who’s an underage drug dealer and when I told her “no wrong person”, she kept telling me I was wrong (I am of age). then got petty and embarrassed because she was wrong, and told us to leave bc my sister was under age and needed an actual parent rather than a guardian to be there with her when my older sister was the guardian and was there with her… And come to find out she was rude to everyone else that night.

Way understaffed in the evening. Would benefit from having staff in the dining room. Poor girl at the cash is run ragged. However, very friendly and still my favorite pizza in the world.

Wait this passes for pizza here ? There is something seriously wrong with the Dough. Its missing oil and salt and possibly more ingredients it was like eating hardened clay with flavourless cheese and flavourless sauce. People in town recommended this place. I still wonder why! At least it looked pleasant

Donairs used to be delicious. Soup used to be great. Chili tastes like vinegar, had a large and a medium donair, both were the size of a medium. They had only 2or 3 pieces of tomato and onion amd meat was dry and tiny pieces instead pf large shaved pieces. Seems to have gone downhill over the last few months. We want to support local but quality needs to improve. If you have people there unfamiliar with the food served, quality control needs to be ensured before you serve it.

The restaurant is wonderful because the service style here left a lasting impression on me. The food is diverse and abundant. I’ll definitely come back next time.

I tried the Sun Luck Platter and the Deluxe Wonton Soup. Really Really good. Server was fast, friendly, and attentive as well.

Costly for what I got. cheese burger platter. Cheap small buns for hamburger. Pattie was smaller then the bun. Shoe string semi hot fries. With cheap bag gravy.

Best food and good service I have ever had. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Place is overpriced for the food options. Seen online that the price for 8 people was $118, and it’s $169 in person. I asked the owner what that was about and he had a snarky attitude “You see what year it is ?”. Their options suck, prices suck, don’t recommended eating here.

Ate all The Chinese food, very nice experience dining in! Just a little quiet . 9/10

Found this little gem during an overnight stay in Stephenville. We walked over in the morning. Shop opened at 7:45 am. Staff were busy right away prepping orders and adding delicious smelling baked goods to the counter. Cute environment! Friendly and warm. Food was fabulous. Homemade granola on the yogurt bowl, YUM. Coffee amazing!

Very cute place, Nice atmosphere and cozy. Friendly staff! Food and drinks are very good!! I recommend it if you are in the area. Can be a little pricey but worth every cent!!

An adorable little cafe. Excellent atmosphere. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best Chai Lattes I've ever had. I enjoyed sitting in the little alcove and reading. A gem in Stephenville for sure. I look forward to visiting again.
