Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Steinbach – 2024

Sky Hy is quite a nice restaurant in ambiance and quality of food. The decor is pleasant with a wood grained kind of look. The atmosphere is OK if not busy. In terms of people packing the place ( must be good right?). The servers were flying around trying to keep up with so many customers. I was told by the friends I came with that they took a while to take your order and another while to get the food out. Forgivable since they were so busy. It became less and less forgivable as the time dragged on. All of us ordered two egg breakfasts. How looong could it take? 1:15 to be exact. That was how long it was since we sat down to when we were leaving. Giving the benefit of the doubt, we did end up ordering take from this restaurant for supper. I waited extra long to pick it up and it was just being bagged up when I got there. So , bottom line, their food is pretty good. Their portions are pretty good and their prices are pretty good. And if this was just one time that they were slow, it could be understandable, but my friends have been there two times and had the same experience. . I would definitely order from there again try to avoid the dine in experience .

We drove out to experience this restaurant. The service was good the food was good as well but the noise in the restaurant was unreal! We could hardly hear each other talking. There were a lot of people talking and the sound of their voices was extremely loud. Right behind us was a young child yelling, standing on the chair, then sitting on the table. The people he was with did nothing about it. We turned around a few times to kind of give them the eye but that didn't make a bit of difference. We were kind of hopeful that the server might tell them to tone it down a bit. We're glad we came out to see this place but would likely not come back.

We just discovered this place and boy I'm glad we did! The food was delicious, servings were great and the prices are reasonable for what you're getting. The servers are very nice, friendly and accommodating too! We will definitely be back if ever we're in Steinbach.

I have dined in two times and it's so worth it. Their house made iced tea is yummy. You can tell they put a lot of pride into what they make and plate for you. I will be back again for sure.

Large portions. Quick service, and very tasty food. And if you like big burgers that acually stay together this is the place

Took advantage of their Valentine's Day special of 2 can dine for $49. Special on 6oz wine for $5 also. Husband had the roast beef he said it was ok. I had the chicken fettuccine and it was delicious. Clean restaurant and friendly, fast service. We shared the blueberry bread pudding

The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the food was not only aesthetically pleasing but SO delicious and the portions were filling. The bubble tea afterwards was a delicious treat as well.

Perfect place. They let us stay little bit overtime. Fantastic staff. Definitely would recommend to go there

This was my first time ever ordering Vietnamese food and I was very impressed! The food was delicious, the proportions were big and filling and the service was great. The staff were very nice and accommodating. It also wasn’t very expensive at all. I would definitely recommend going there. I will definitely be back again

Called in an order was told 20-25 minutes and didn't get my order till 45 min later. When I came in it took 10 minutes before anyone came to the front to acknowledge me. The gentlemen there was nice it's a clean space. But timing on orders should be more accurate.

Service was okay. The food tasted bland and like it was warmed up in a microwave. The only other customer that came in was a guy who only had 1 beer then left.

I am a huge Boston Pizza fan and eat at various locations pretty regularly. Visited the Steinbach location yesterday and had a mixed experience. The burger was actually really good. Fresh bun that was sturdy enough to handle the burger and bacon, but was not dense or heavy. The burger itself was tasty and cooked perfectly. I was there during the mid afternoon and it was not busy, which is to be expected on a weekday - but makes my next comment more understandable. The fries were cold while the burger was fresh and hot. Easy solution right? Just let the waitress know and she will bring fresh fries. Problem is, once she brought my meal, I did not see her again until I managed to flag her down to ask for my bill. I would have appreciated her asking me how my food was, as is typical in most restaurants. Kinda felt ignored. Minor thing I know, but these days we all pay a considerable amount of money for restaurant food. Too bad, as this was a really easy fix. Not sure I will return.

Very average experience. It's a decent place to get something to eat, but nothing special.

Overall a pretty good place to go. Love ordering the Nachos extra chicken extra cheese that’s my favourite.

I’ve ordered from Sushi Garden a handful of times and every time I am pleasantly impressed! I’ve tried many different sushi places before and this one is by far my favorite. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. They have so many options to try and they’re all so good. Would highly recommend going here

Worth it! Decent portions for the price, we received a free roll which was delicious. Met with a friendly face at the front. Everything we ordered had great flavour. I will be back to try again!

My order was ready in less than 15 minutes. The rolls are fairly priced. My sushi tasted fresh. There are lunch specials. Ate it so fast I forgot to take pictures!!

I love breakfast food, it’s one of my favourites, and Smitty’s is up there with their breakfast platter This location was one of the good guys the hostesses are kinda weird, but they’re kids so it’s understandable but Madi served me and my partner and we didn’t feel she was being over the top or not enough. She was just enough! Included some photos of what I ordered so you could see some presentation of the kitchen, it all tasted wonderful, sausages were kinda sus but I never really eat those anyway. Food was absolutely delicious I had the Honey Bacon BBQ burger. The service was great! Got seated instantly and drinks as well. The overall atmosphere was great, quiet and peaceful. 10/10

I went in to enjoy my free rewards birthday meal -- a huge plus on its own... the waitress was in training and was so friendly and made our visit even more special... on top of everything we were given free donuts with a sparklers my birthday! Our server did such an excellent job!

Burger was so dry and tasted like nothing. Stir fry came out and the noodles were cold. Didnt even bother finishing the meals. Will not be coming back

One of the few places in Steinbach where you can find good food, a good vibe, and good beer. A classic Canadian bar/diner with a touch of British cuisine. Surprisingly, it wasn't crowded on Saturday night. Everything we ordered was hot and fresh, which is very important to me. My order was: Butter shrimp: 5 out of 5. Nice texture, great sauce. Wings: 5 out of 5. Really meaty and hot, I mean in terms of physical temperature. Mash and bangers: 5 out of 5. The sautéed onions were amazing. The bangers themselves were natural, without MSG or meat replacement. Thai-style shrimp and rice: 3 out of 5. It felt somewhat oriental-inspired, but more like a mix of flavors without a clear idea behind it. I would suggest replacing this dish with fried rice with shrimp. It takes the same amount of time to prepare and definitely has a better taste. Beer: St. James Ale was nice but a bit plain and simple. In other hand this is a good choice to drink with food. Overall, 5 out of 5

I recently visited with two friends. It was the first time any of us had been there. We all had something different to eat and to drink, and we all enjoyed our meals. The service was very smooth. Pictured is the bangers and mash, which came to my table piping hot.

Santa Lucia is amazing, and the service is friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant, and my only complaint is that sounds carry through the restaurant so you can hear a lot of conversations. The food is unbelievably delicious, and I can't wait to go back to try more. The menu has tons of options for all your dietary needs. The burger was so delicious that my husband raves non-stop about it. Their pizzas are so yummy - they don't skimp on ingredients, and you can tell they use good, high-quality cheese. I highly recommend this place, but be warned, once you've eaten here, it's hard to go anywhere else. My husband no longer enjoys burgers without comparing it to Santa Lucia, and I can't even think of having pizza anywhere else! This is definitely a gem worth trying and worth the price they charge. I'll be going back!

I initially did not have a positive experience with this restaurant, but the manager/owner Darryl reached out and apologized and sent us two very high quality and delicious pizzas with 100% discount (free)! Mistakes can happen and thats okay, but businesses who are committed to betterment of their services are the ones that stand out and Santa Lucia is one of the few in Steinbach! Updated review: Santa Lucia's Pizzas are the best in town. Silky soft, smooth n delivered hot from the oven. Carefully crafted by top notch Chefs to ensure consistent quality and taste. I don't understand the hype around this place and eating raw vegetables on pizza. Why are yall so obsessed with toppings under the cheese? Genuinely, why? Mmm, raw ham and raw crunchy onions and peppers on my nice soft pizza. Not to mention, my pizza and mozzarella bread were hardly even luke warm when I got them. For the price of a tiny pizza, I'd expect it to at the very least taste fresh.

Took my friend to try wood oven baked desert pizza and she really liked the pizza and the atmosphere. Great place to visit with friends.

I always come here when I'm in Steinbach.. The food is exquisite...always plentiful.. Service is second to none.. friendly, knowledgeable and prompt.. Today was the loaded potato soup..with bacon,onion,sour cream..to die for delicious Also a Reuben calzone .. DELICIOUS.. Thank u Chinos...you ALWAYS meet or exceed expectations.. Try it once,it will become a favorite for u as well..

I am not sure how to use the Stars. The waitress service is minimal since buffet is the main option when eating in. If you do take out, you get the menu. The buffet is great. Customer’s get drinks and ice cream included with buffet price. I appreciate the idea of a buffet not wanting to waste food. If you want to take leftover’s home, you will have pay $5. The thing about the buffet, is most customer’s can only fill 1 plate and be full. The parking is shared in a parking lot with other businesses.

Food was very good. Not salty and no thick cornstarch sauces. Big, breaded chicken balls with lots of chicken inside. Veggies cooked well, not limp & overcooked. Good variety of foods. Drinks & Ice cream bar included in price. We came at lunch closing and they were kind enough to stay open for the 12 of us. We enjoyed our meal and we will come again. Highly recommend.

First time and last time. Terrible food. Should have thought the visit here through better. Expensive. Buffet was $20. Each person. If the quality and taste was better, I would have left a positive review.

I rarely score places a 5 Star, but when I do, it's because they deserve it. My party of 4 loved every last part of the dishes we ordered. I tried all the dishes myself. The tonkatsu and chicken katsu are so crispy but juicy, I was surprised it wasn't dry at all. The Pho was rich in flavour, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The Jjampong was a mouthful of flavour. For a city in the middle of the country, their seafood was as fresh as it could be. The sushi was good aswell, the salmon dish was not all raw, but the salmon had so much flavour in it. It tasted different but so good it was gone from our table within seconds of it arriving. The gyosas are light, fresh, and delish. To top it off, the owners and staff are so kind. I would definitely eat here again when I visit.

Food was delicious. The special was the gamja-tang, it was incredible. Both times we've been in we've gotten the special and both times it's been top notch. The yam tempura was delicious too

Amazing food, large portions. fresh ingredients. My first time here, and I was beyond impressed. They were short staffed and still everything was fantastic!

Our visit coincided with the second last weekend the Sunday buffet is open so we celebrated by trying some authentic Mennonite food. And soooo much good food. Like going home to moms house where there's always lots to eat and lots of people to talk to. Simple, homemade fare, delicious desserts and plenty of hot coffee or tea to wash it down with.

Being of Mennonite decent... it's always nice to come back to my roots and have a traditional meal like Mom would have prepared. Have been coming back at least once a year for nearly 25 years. Highly recommended. Notice some of the other comments... that I guess are Critical tourists that don't understand what the Heritage Museum represents or is about. The museum is run by mostly volunteers... in a time when volunteers are hard to find. Be kind to them... or we will end up losing historical treasures like this. Future generations need to know a politically unaltered HISTORY... it is what it is... and will shape a future for our children.

Absolutely amazing authentic wareneki! Would travel from BC again just for this meal. The whole experience felt very homely.

A partially filled restaurant and bar side was enough to show down food by an hour and a half. Then, the food, while it had a delicious sauce, didn't even have a full chicken breast in it, making it was an overpriced meal for noodles and sauce. The steak was not a ribeye like advertised as there was too much gristle in it. If you have excess time to wait, then I suppose this restaurant is adequate. The lighting was too bright though, so the atmosphere was not as relaxing as the pictures made it seem.

Terrible experience. I give them 1 star for the sake that our drinks came out quick but once we ordered, we waited an hour and 15 minutes and our food still didn’t come out. Overheard 3 other tables asking why it was taking so long. If there are not enough cooks, they need to be better at making their customers aware that food might take longer to come out so that customers can decide if they want to stay or not. We left a $20 bill on the table to cover the 2 drinks and left. Will not be returning.

A group of 12 had made reservations at the lounge, and when we arrived, our table was all setup and ready for us. Our server, Taylor, was terrific—she always greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service. Plus, the food was delicious!
