What an absolute gem this place is. I’m in town for a few days and haven’t been thrilled with the food options around. I called in to order and was pleasantly surprised by how many gluten free options they offered. I picked up an order of Putanesca pasta and an order of bruschetta. Both were fantastic and I am thrilled that they also have a quality gluten free bread option. 5/5 stars all day and will most likely return for lunch tomorrow. If you have a gluten allergy and are searching for Italian cuisine, this is THE place. Thank you!
We had a very nice Friday night dinner at a relatively early time (5:45). The bread was warm and delicious, especially with the olive oil & balsamic vinegar. My wife had a chicken special with a creamy sauce; my mother had a grouper special that included shrimp and scallops; I had the classic chicken piccata. All 3 were excellent, with tasty sauces and complementary pasta. Our house and Greek salads were also great. We finished by sharing a slice of limencello cake, which was absolutely perfect. Our 3 wines (both of their offered chiantis, plus a Lambrusco) were quite good, too. Service was friendly and reasonably timed, although it could have been a tad bit more quick--but they were quite busy, so we certainly understood. Overall, a very pleasant meal.
Great place to eat good Italian food. I always get the Cheese steak works and it’s always delicious. Most of the time it’s more than I can eat so I save the other half for the next days lunch. It came with homemade chips and ranch. They were crisp and very good. My wife got Chicken Marsala with bread and a side salad. The chicken was quite tasty and plentiful but the salad was a little on the skimpy side. She has plenty of leftovers for her lunch tomorrow. We called the order in and it was ready upon my arrival. If I could give a 1/2 star, I would have rated it 4.5. We will continue to support this great little restaurant. 4/2/22. We just ordered two new items. I got the stuffed shells and they were great. Love the ricotta cheese and marinara sauce. Had a salad with balsamic dressing. Wife ordered cheese ravioli and she really enjoyed them. This place doesn’t disappoint! 4/14/23. In fairness to the whole review process, I’ll do another update. Tonight we dined in and was seated immediately. Wasn’t very busy it appeared. We sat in our seats long enough that we started discussing where else we could go and eat. We were just about to leave when the owners wife came and took our order. Service did move quickly after that. We ordered some side salads and a white cheese type pizza with spinach. Was delicious! However, our drinks were never refilled. The food service industry was hurt after the stupid pandemic and we understand that. I guess we will stick to “take out” from here. As I’ve said above, the food doesn’t disappoint!

Shrimp and Grits, and fried green tomatoes! They set the standard for shrimp and grits, and fried green tomatoes. The shrimp was cooked perfectly in a rich, spicy, creamy, creole seasoned sauce. The fried tomatoes were crispy and covered in their signature pimento cheese with the creole seasoning. Both dishes are extremely, extremely rich! It is spicy but not too hot! They have a big beer and wine selection. Relaxing atmosphere with great service!
The overall experience was just ok. The restaurant was understaffed, so the service was slow. The food quality was fair. The Hawaiian chicken was good, not great, and my companion said the meatloaf was equally fair. The starwas actually the nashville hot chicken dip. The decor was charming in an old west understated way.
Had a fabulous lunch there last week. My husband had the prime steak sandwich and was actually asked the level of cook he wanted - a first for him when ordering a steak sandwich. They had a HUGE bourbon list. Would have liked to see a few more upscale wine (Pinot Grigio) options. Our server (I wish I could remember her name… maybe Crystal?) was a delight and single handedly managed the dining room service. Looking forward to our next visit soon!

Our party of four was excited to try The Quarter, and we had a very good first dinner here. The drink selection is good and fairly unique for the city. We had a po boy sandwich, etouffé, red beans and rice, and the chicken and waffles sandwich, and all of them were tasty. The fries that came with the sandwiches were good, though a little salty. The serving size for fries is way too large, though. Service was friendly and fairly timely, though there's room for improvement timing- and frequency-wise. We look forward to trying more of the menu.
We (my longtime friends and family) were in town from Washington DC for a funeral. And on a whim, my brother (who is a vegetarian) wanted fresh food at 10pm. The food was absolutely top notch. And that is coming from a DC foodie. The PO Boy is amazing. But even better than the food was our server Madison who went above and beyond accommodating us and making sure every little detail of our food and hospitality was next level. This place is the quintessential definition of fresh food and southern hospitality
Hate posting this but hope the owner sees this. NOPE! NOT REAL New Orleans Food They were out of several items, they did not tell you up front and had to come back twice because of menu not updated or some of the “food did not look good” meaning the bayou cakes, this came straight from the waitress. Food was also not go. Standard pub style “tasting” food. By far from NOLA food. Staff was nice and the place was quaint. Has a great deal of potential if it had decent food. Oh and bartender where you had to get out of your seat to go pay the bill., we paid and she kept a 29% tip. Didn’t give us our change back and just said thank you. For what?? Is my question

This has quickly become one of our favorite places for take out. My daughter loves the South of the Border bowl and I love their “That” Burger pizza. We’ve also had their smoked wings, carne asada fries and holy smokes pizza. All very good options, but we have found our favorites in the bowl and the cheeseburger pizza. Keep up the great food!
We checked out this place online before visiting and we were excited to try a new place. We were grossly disappointed. Four of us met for dinner and ordered pizza, old school nachos a burger and a bowl. All food was bland. The pizza was undercooked. The rice is the bowl was also undercooked. The nachos were horrible and the burger was not tasty. The server was nice, service was good.
We found this place on accident, and they had empty tables available on a Friday night. The service was pretty good. A little slow, but not bad. Plenty of options on the menu. Great drink selections. The nachos were great. A little out of the ordinary, but maybe more meat than I have ever had on nachos. Good quesadilla with perfectly cooked tater tots.

This is your country breakfast!!!!! Wow, a memorable, delicious country breakfast! Eggs, hash browns and the best tasting bacon you will ever have. The menu covers a full breakfast spectrum. The biscuits and gravy looks wonderful. It is a good sized restaurant, but on a Saturday morning it fills and folks are waiting to get a table. The wait staff is friendly and the service is fast. If you are in Statesville, pass on the hotel breakfast and take a short drive south to the neat little town of Troutman.
The food and service was excellent! I get the family pack 1 lb of bbq, 1 pint of slaw and baked beans for $22 bucks. I got a chance to try their red slaw and bbq pork rinds was great. I’ll definitely be back on my next visit to the area. I used some of the BBQ sauce on some leg quarters and it was magic. Make sure to pick up sauce and pork skins
This was my first time eating here and the food was amazing the best BBQ I've had in a long time so go and check them out you will not be disappointed and the staff are really nice to and friendly so go and check them out

God was excellent, plentiful, and the service was even better. We will definitely be back again. Great value for the food and service we received.
This restaurant is healthier than most fast food places around but doesn't have amazing food to go out of the way for. Got the grilled chicken wing appetizer with fried apples, yeast rolls, and mashed potatoes to go. The yeast rolls and fried apples were good but tasted like it was prepackaged, not handmade or fresh. The chicken wings are really good but I thought it came with sauce or something because I got them completely plain . The mashed potatoes tasted like it was made from real potatoes.
I mostly come here for the nostalgia. This was my fiancée and I’s first dinner-date spot. I usually get the grilled salmon. Wasn’t a huge fan of it tonight; tasted a little burnt — how they managed to do that, I couldn’t tell you. She got a chicken sandwich shaped like a heart and small handful of fries. It’s got that bar-with-attached-restaurant vibe to it, if that makes sense. Not the nicest steakhouse in the world, but far from the worst. Our server was attentive, which is important to me — and non-interruptive, which is equally as important. I may be biased due to its sentimental value to me, but I’d still come here without a second thought, though. It’s one of the better places in town that you can rely on to be consistent across the board.

Hands down best bang for your buck breakfast for the working class person. Fast made so you won't be waiting too long, prices are good and the food is perfect for what it is. You wanna live mush and egg on toast or a BLT or whatever. But what you order and how you order it is exactly what you're going to get so you can't blame them if you don't like what you got.
The food in not only amazing the prices too, cool kind staff nice place, parked my truck at the sheetz across the street and walked there 10/10
I go to Ledbetters pretty much on a regular basis they have really good prices. The staff is always friendly and make you feel like family.. your food portions are great. I will continue to go there often.

One of the best places in Statesville! I have been a regular customer of Katana since they came to town. Their food is so consistent and good quality for a great price. It's a no brainer. The Kim Chi fries (pictured) are amazing. I also regularly order the spicy chicken poke bowl or the burrito on burrito Wednesday, and always crab rangoons.
We stopped here on a trip. Lots of choices on the menu. You should definitely find something you like. They take orders up front and they will bring the food to you. The food was great. I really wish we had one in our town. Parking was the only complaint we had. They really need more parking!!
This place is great, a hidden gem if you will! Do not be fooled/intimidated by the fact this is served in bowls, there is plenty. And, places like this will sometimes skip out on the meats - BUT not this one! I got the shrimp, and hubby got steak/shrimp combo - both excellent! Everything was fresh, (food wise) you get your drink and sit down, and they bring your food out to you! Service exceptional, restaurant was clean, restrooms clean and smelled nice!!! 12 outta 10 would recommend, and we'll be back for sure!

First-time customer. Want a great local Statesvile succes story. The menu is extensive and easily customisable. Charity, our server, was very knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, and took excellent care of us. Felt like I was in a historical, local favourite. Full house at 12:30 and we took last table. Love the local memorabilia. Enjoy the STP DIPPER and hot dog. When in Statesville, give Grocho's a visit.
We came here for a nice lunch date and were able to bring our dogs to outdoor seating area. Great sandwiches and drink selection. Wonderful service!
This is a very cool location in downtown Statesville. The location was perfect and of course the food was excellent. We parked just down the road from the restaurant and walked to the restaurant. Groucho's Deli is definitely the place to go for a great sandwich. I am a Ruban fan, and their Ruben was probably one of the tastiest Ruben sandwiches I have eaten. They have their own sause that they make in-house that is just amazing. One of them is like a thousand island dressing but much better, and my husband had their blue cheese sause, which was amazing. When you enter the restaurant you can choose to sit yourself. Menu's are at the table. They do have servers here, which is nice. They do charge for water $0.25. Which isn't bad. The waitress was great, and the food came out quickly. Everyone absolutely enjoyed their sandwiches. The atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable. There are lots of old pictures and memorabilia on the walls to look at. We love going to places like this with so much history. It's definitely worth a stop. You do have to take your bill up to the register when you are done with your meal. Just in case you didn't hear the waitress tell you that when they drop it off. As I was waiting for the waitress to come back and my husband had told me. If you are in Statesville in the downtown area, I would definitely put this place on your places to go eat. And afterward you can take a nice walk around the downtown area. It's beautiful with so much history.

We're so happy to find this regional chain serving delicious food! The Shrimp and Grits are the best I've EVER had. The meatloaf and Brussel sprouts were wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Everyone was satisfied but my husband and I somehow understood why. We do carry out more than anything. This was our first time going to the restaurant. My husband ordered the smoked salmon and rice with mixed vegetables. When we open the box, it looked like someone had already ate off of it. I don’t know what was going on with that, but I’ve never seen fish like that!! If that is how they serve it, they need to change it.
This place never fails to impress in all its locations! The food is phenomenal, well presented, in a timely manner. The drinks are good too. We ordered Gumbo as well as shrimp and grits and they both were delicious. Will come back again and again.

We went to Dlaney's Sunday while we were out riding motorcycles. We had 7 people. Waitress just had a large table (2 tables connected for larger group) leaving, so asked us to give her a few to clean the tables off---no problem. After they cleaned the tables, they broke two large tables apart to make for 2 separate tables of 4 each---which didn't work for us. We asked if we could have the 2 tables put back together for the 7 of us and were told "if you want it like that----you gonna do it". Really???? So we put the tables back together ourselves and sat down. Our waitress (who wasn't the rude table arranging lady) was absolutely wonderful. We apologized to her if we upset the other lady, but we felt that was very rude. The mean lady continued to eye roll and huff at us our entire visit. Food was great though----just disappointed in the attitude of one employee. If you own this business & want to know who the rude one was, contact me directly----she's easy to point out.
If there's a question if you should visit, DO IT! I was in town visiting friends so we came downtown to eat around 1p on a Sunday. A party of 6 so there were 4 seats at the bar and we scrunched together. David the bartender was great getting drinks and appetizers out. Bri was great in telling us what we should order to eat. None of my friends had a single complaint about their food. Our biggest disappointment was hearing how we just missed the brunch food because they were sold out. Met the owner Dave who also was as friendly as his staff. Making plans to experience this "line out the door" brunch.
A solid joint, your typical sports pub vibes with lots of tvs, the bartenders/servers are super friendly and make you feel like a regular. We were in town for a wedding and came to watch a noon Clemson game— highly recommend you go watch your next game there. The bartender is putting in WORK behind that bar and on the service floor. Your drink will never be empty. The owner can even be seen cooking in the kitchen— and engaging in the occasional photobomb! Food was great. Highly recommend.

This place was amazing!!! Great staff! Great atmosphere and WOW! I absolutely loved the food!! I have a hard time eating most of the time but I ate every bite of this and wanted more! Steak was cooked perfectly and I love brocoli and it was also amazing! Also, great drinks as well and appetizers! Definitely going back!!!
don’t hold your breath, because this is going to be a long one! we came in tonight while it was very busy! i’ve been here a couple times but tonight, i can say our service was exceptional. our server and the girl helping her out (wearing a yellow shirt) were SO attentive. they did their best helping out everyone who came through the door. we were kind of expecting service to be few and far between being behind such a large group of people but even with all the chaos going on, our drinks never went empty and we didn’t go without being checked on. WONDERFUL customer service and such great food! we will definitely be back!
The staff here are the first thing I noticed; they let you seat yourself and seem to have smiles all over their faces. Our server, Daren, was joyous and friendly. The food was good enough; I got myself the Hawaiian chicken sandwich and some fir-roasted corn, and my friend got the bacon egg n' cheeseburger and some fries. He absolutely loved his burger levels above my own order. I will definitely come back to try some more items from the menu. For now, though: I'm happy and pleased from my first visit.

What a fantastic find! Our first time here. Great service. Massive portions of amazing food. Had catfish and it was as good as a fish camp. Wife had some of the best chicken fingers ever. Fried mushroom appetizer is enough for 6. We will be regulars.
Sunday morning, our band tour bus made a quick stop to pick up some breakfast. Boxcar Grille had a breakfast buffet, but wouldn’t let us take anything to go. We would’ve each grabbed one of the many to-go boxes right behind the lady, made it ourselves and paid the price for the buffet. But no. We had to settle for Bojangles.
Service and food was far beyond my expectations. Well actually, I've eaten there before and it was amazing then. But Saturday night the prime rib was perfect. Freshest salad bar ive ever enjoyed. Perfect baked potato. Clean restaurant. Partners order had a mistake and the wait staff promptly fixed it. Best meal and service in months.

Everything here is phenomenal, the best restaurant in Statesville, it’s modern and elegant, and it fills up fast on Friday and Saturday nights. I highly suggest making reservations for these nights. Or go on a weeknight when they’re not as busy. They have the best salads and desserts around too. The Thai beef salad is my favorite, and I love their mixed berry tart for dessert, the dough reminds me of an elephant ear from my childhood. They always seem to have a great feature entree as well, tonight I had a rack of lamb with their cauliflower mash and it was so delicious. The servers are great, nice beer selection, and great cocktails with local spirits too. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very relaxing, intimate restaurant with inside and outdoor seating. The menu is comprehensive, with tasty, reasonably priced fare. Todays bean and andoulie sausage soup and the Ahi Tuna were very tasty. The service was excellent. Food is quickly prepared and nicely presented. Because of such a quality restaurant, they can fill up quickly for lunch and dinner. There is a very nice coupon in the 2025 Attractions Book if you have one. Great value. My favourite place in Statesville: check it out yourself.
Good restaurant for the area. However, we were disappointed with the appetizers. There was not much kapow to the kapow shrimp. The entrees were better. However, my girlfriend's tuna was not cooked correctly the first time. Staff were gracious about recooking it. We enjoyed our time there!
