Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Smoky Lake – 2024

Stopped in after a nice ride out of Edmonton. Looking for a hearty breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Everything was delicious! Definitely recommend to stop in. Staff are super friendly. I will be returning!

Don't bother ordering from the Cafe if you're on a time crunch. Get something from the display window......Took half an hour of my time for a Reuben and deep fried pickles There was two whole people in front of me that ordered . Get more cooks. Saran wrap straight on the pickles outta the deep fryer on the pickles so it was melting to them .The reuben bread isn't even grilled , and very soggy.Not worth the price tag.Flavor was decent at least. They do make really good bacon n eggers though.

Been here a couple times already and I find the breakfast very good! The Grizzly meal is delicious! I haven't had the lunch yet but that's on my list when I stop in again. The young lady at the counter is very sweet and nice. The cooks are amazing and quick. Located in the back of the Esso off 28 and there is also a gift shop there you can browse while waiting for your meal to dine in or out.

First time taking my family to the festival today and i dont think we will return. Absolutely no one could point us in the direction to get our pre paid wrist bands . Once we got them we were informed we couldn't bring a wagon onto the shuttle so ended up walking with a 2 and 4yo which was difficult to do. Corn maze was maybe 2 feet in about 70% of the maze so can easily see over top. I'm very disappointed and don't think we will be returning.

Just like every year that I've gone to. Good times had by all Can wait till next Year …

The pumpkin festival has become an annual tradition for our family! Amazing car show, carnival, pumpkin weigh off, food trucks, and so much to do!

A little bit pricey but has a really good selection of high-end ingredients that I haven't been able to find outside of Edmonton. It has really great produce and friendly staff. I do almost all of my shopping there now because of the convenience and selection

Always a great place to Shop. Sales every week, convenient location just off Highway 28 on the Service road behind the Smoky Lake Esso. Room for Big rigs,and RV's on the service road. A great selection , freindly staff and competitive pricing.

I really like this place the floors where clean and the place was tidy the shelves where faced properly the staff was friendly and helpful. they have a potato wedge poutine and homemade garlic sausage two gems that are hard to find. I will shop here in the future and recommend to all my peeps.

Overall good food and friendly service. It would be nice to see them renovating the place and maintaining it cleaner.

Friendly staff and good quantity and quality good with affordable price. Their combination plate special is a good value meal.

Place is cute and cozy, nice blend of pink and white. Not too much of a fan of the fish, but otherwise everything else was good! Most crispy fries I've had in years!

The pizza bread is delicious and the meat sauce is to die for! The wings are nice and crispy , staff is very friendly! Definitely worth checking out in the beautiful pumpkin capital of Alberta Smokey lake! Ps. Beers are nice and cold! (Bottles only)

Had a fabulous meal at Red Chimney Restaurant tonight! Even on a busy pumpkin fest weekend the service and food were incredible! Highly recommend the pizzas and deep fried pickles. Thank you for the incredible service and being so patient while we visited with friends over our pizza. 5 stars all around :)

My family went to a late lunch/early breakfast. We had the pizza bread as a starter which was absolutely delicious, the lasagna and burger with fries and gravy. All the food came out HOT, freshly cooked - incredible! The couple who own the restaurant are so welcoming and you can tell that they genuinely care about their customers. We are looking forward to going back soon!

Great little spot for some pictures and picnic. Along Iron Horse Trail, good for a long hike.

Good place fir photos. Has a washroom in the train station museum and exhibits to check out. Kids loved the train caboose.

Cozy little pub, within walking distance of the Country Garden Hotel, and the Super 8 motel. Good friendly service, a nice atmosphere, and food available . Slot machines on site! Liquor store in the same building attached to the Smoky Lake Centex. Great wings etc.

Best place in town to bring your dog and meet honest hard working people who enjoy to go for a bike ride.

Very cozy cafe and bakery that invites for a lunch stop. The egg sandwich was delicious and the bread so light and fluffy. Apart from bread, there is also a great selection of donuts. Staff was super friendly and the prices very reasonable.

What an absolutely worthwhile stop! I stop at a lot of bakeries, but this one has a special place in my heart! We picked up a delicious loaf of sourdough and learned they were experimenting with their pizza oven that evening. We came back for pizza not realizing it wasn’t a “public” event. It didn’t matter! Our family was welcomed with open arms and we enjoyed some amazing pizza and yummy bread from the wood fired oven. Next morning we went back for the most delicious donuts I think we’ve ever had! Thank you Smoky Lake Bakery family!

Absolutely amazing bakery. The bakery has been around for 50 years and no wonder because the donuts and bread are awesome. I had an apple fritter that was tasty, sweet and yummy. My wife and I also got a loaf of bread and that has been great. Just a great bakery in a small town. We hope to return again to enjoy the great products. Also there is a lunch menu.

Small and busy. Good food! edit: This store was sold to new owners mid-2023 and is not the same as when this review was posted. They no longer make submarine sandwiches for example.

Went to the store today after work and ordered some food. The food was great also great staff.

Visit Clark and the gang there for all you're ticket and ice-cream needs and any on the run snacks and meals they make excellent pizza

Delicious food! Clean and friendly staff. The ginger beef is exceptional.

It's the WAR WANTON that got me to have supper here. It's not salty like the other Chinese restaurants. Service was alright. The only thing was we had to wait for a long time for the hotpot to be served, and the steamed rice was cold. One customer was asking before they left the restaurant if they gave out New Year's Calendars the response they got was "Too expensive. We don't hand those out. We save money that way" So don't even ask if they have New Year Calendars at this restaurant. If you see pictures posted it's day time and when we left it's dark out. We waited for a good hour for our hot pot.

Great food! Stopped over and pleasantly surprised. Not only was the Chinese food great (green onion cake, chow main, fried rice, and beef and veggies) but even kid’s fries (and chicken) were awesome!

Fast service with great food. Very well priced with a great milkshake menu.

Did you grow up in a small town? If you did, this gem of a place will remind you of that exact place! Betsy's does the burger shack style wonderfully. We shared a cheeseburger, fried chicken burger, tator tots, corn fritters and fried mushrooms. All of it done perfectly and at a reasonable price. If you are driving by, do yourself a favour and stop in for a bite to eat, you won't be disappointed.
