Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Saint John – 2024

I got the Greek Lemon Chicken, and this might be the best meal I've ever had (top 3 for sure). My server was amazing and the restaurant was so cute. If I didn't live in Ontario, I would go here all the time. If/when I'm in the area again, I will definitely be coming back.

This local restaurant has a loyal customer base. Authentic Greek food. We went for lunch and enjoyed some lunch special. I had the donair and Caesar salad and my guest enjoyed the curry.

Delicious food. Nice atmosphere. The service is below to average. No one is waiting on you. We've been a few times and there is one middle aged blonde female waitress that seems to usually be grumpy and borderline rude.

I can’t recommend the GrandBay bakery enough!! I have had two cakes made in the last month. The first was a birthday cake, and the second was a surprise wedding cake. I provided an image for the birthday cake and they created the exact cake!! But what was more amazing, is I asked for a wedding cake and provided no requirements. They blew the design out of the water! It was absolutely beautiful!!!

All grocery store are trying to push multiple sales on products, from chips to many other things. Foodland also. Not bad if you need lot's. But it also shows how much extra they charge for people who can't afford to buy lots. Other wise I believe Foodland is one of the better stores for everyday needs.

Good selection but WAY over priced. 1 bag of groceries was $100. Insane

We had an outstanding dining experience at Billy’s Seafood Company, located in the heart of uptown Saint John! From the moment we walked in, the inviting atmosphere set the stage for a wonderful meal. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the seafood chowder—it was absolutely divine! Each spoonful was a delightful blend of creamy goodness, brimming with an assortment of fresh seafood that was both flavorful and satisfying. The lobster roll Connecticut style was also very delicious with generous lobster portion. Moreover, the overall vibe of the restaurant was fantastic, making it a perfect spot to unwind and savor a delicious meal. I must also commend Luke for his exemplary service; he was not only attentive but also genuinely friendly, enhancing our dining experience with his warm hospitality. If you’re in search of a place that serves delectable food and offers a welcoming environment, I wholeheartedly recommend Billy’s Seafood Company. I’m already looking forward to my next visit! ✨

Although they couldn’t accommodate us at the moment due to a large party, we still made a reservation for 1430. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress recommended scallops since they didn’t have the crab cakes available, and she did not disappoint. Billy himself came over to speak with us as well. I went with the lobster roll with a side of chowder hoping the lobster roll would be better than when I tried them in Maine. It did not disappoint. I ordered Connecticut style, but the traditional with mayonnaise was recommended. The fish and chips were good. Not too much batter. The fish was soft. Did not come with tartar sauce though. The kids also ordered pasta with red sauce, and they seemed to like it. The chowder was creamy and had the right amount of scallop and potatoes and mussels. It was a nice combination with the lobster roll. The poutine was excellent. Better than gravy so the mozzarella cheese on French fries in your NY diner. The scallops with bacon was flavorful. The scallop on its own was bland so must be eaten with the bacon. The lobster roll was better here than the ones I ate in Maine. The roll the lobster was on was delicious. If you’re ever in the area, stop by. You won’t be disappointed.

I almost never leave a review, unless the restaurant is exceptional, one way or another. Billy's is amazing. The lobster roll is beyond terrific. The bread alone was sooo good. The wait staff were super friendly and the owner himself was doing a bang up job of clearing tables, taking orders and hosting. It was impressive watching him and amusing to listen to him. Honestly I would come back again and again! Ps: notice on the picture there's nearly no roll left. It was so amazing!

The food tasted great, our waiter was amazing. The price is killer however. About $100 for 2 meals is quite a bit. But other then that, good experience, good food, nice atmosphere.

I recently visited Taste Of Egypt in the Saint John area, hoping to grab a quick bite. Upon entering, I noticed the entire restaurant was empty, which made the experience even more puzzling. After being seated and given a menu, I realized that it only offered full meals. I simply wanted a chicken shawarma without any extras. When I inquired about ordering just the shawarma, I was told that I could get it but wasn't allowed to eat it inside the restaurant. This made no sense to me, especially with every table available. It was quite disappointing to have to leave the restaurant and eat my meal in my car. While the food itself was good, the restrictive policy and lack of flexibility really put a damper on my experience. I hope they reconsider their approach in the future, as it would make for a much more enjoyable dining experience.Shawarma itself had a decent taste but proved messy eating in my car ‍♂️

Always terrific service whether it's pickup or dine it. The food is amazing and always exactly what you order. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options available. Oh, and the place is absolutely gorgeous inside!

We had dinner last night here and the food was truly amazing! We came in at happy hour which is a great deal for wine for sure at 25% off 5 oz pours. We had the scallop and polenta dish and the beef cheeks with risotto mac and cheese. Both of our dishes were outstanding! Then we had the lemon tart with berries and sorbet…excellent! Our server, whose name I did not get, was so kind, personable and funny to boot (she is a cute redhead), she made us feel so at home.

So very unassuming yet definitely a place worthy if you’re looking for an elevated dining experience. Absolutely loved the seared scallop entree, has become my favorite preparation ever, served on a sizable portion of pasta in a simple yet balanced and tasty preserved lemon, caper sauce. Also enjoyed the vegetable soup with mushrooms and barley which was that day’s soup. Husband ate the pan seared tuna special and it was also delicious as was the mushroom toast. Mouth is watering remembering this meal from just a few days ago. This is a must-try place if visiting St. John.

Superb food and service. Restaurant is managed smoothly and efficiently. Guests can actually have quiet conversations, even with a full house. Excellent evening.

So I had the Lobster Grilled Cheese with side Seafood Chowder. Phenomenal!!! A decent amount of lobster cheese and the sourdough bread was toasted perfectly. The side of dill ranch sauce was the aciudament that provided the right touch. The lobster roll and fries was fantastic. A dill mayonnaise provided great flavoring.

Beautiful restaurant in Saint John. Great atmosphere and clean bathrooms. Service was friendly, prompt and attentive. Food was delicious and presentation was Beach Chair Lager is a favourite Must try spot!

My Wife and I were already planning our next visit before we even saw the menu. This place was pretty sweet. Cool atmosphere and the Staff rocked . Peter you are The Best. The food was really tasty and contenting. I actually thought the bill would have been thirty/ forty dollars more (I had a couple beers as well). So final take away? Bang on spot! For sure. Yet again, Peter thank-you and we look forward to our next meal . Cheers. . P.S their vegetarian menu was pretty cool too (me Wife is a life long Vegetarian).

My favourite restaurant in Saint John, I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience. Most recently I had their Burmese pork special and it was deliciously spicy and crunchy. My wife had her usual, coconut rice, brussel sprouts, and chicken satays and she was happy as a clam! Make sure you ask for a side of Phil’s eyes

Family of 4. We were watching a show on the waterfront and decided to have supper at one of the waterfront restaurants. We chose lemongrass. It took 50 minutes to get our order with no silverware which we had to retrieve ourselves after waiting 5 minutes watching our meals get cold. Wife and youngest ordered fish and chips, which they found greasy and bland. My oldest got the chicken burger, pathetic p.o.s , chicken was tiny , could have passed for a nugget. I ordered pad thai, it looked nice but wasnt great. Pile of stuck together noodles underneath sprouts and cilantro. I give the pad thai 5 out of 10. Id sooner have thai express. Either way i would not recommend eating here unless you like paying 120 bucks to wait almost an hour for mediocre food, and thats me being generous with the review. Dont take my word for it check out the pictures, and last but not least there was a short and curly hair baked into one of the fries. Picture included.

Some of the best meals on our east coast trip were at Lemongrass. Very dog friendly patio if you are traveling with pets. The drunken noodles and the Thai sampler were great and everything coming out of the kitchen smelled wonderful. Service was friendly and approachable.

The service was a bit slow, staff was friendly, our cups were empty for much of our time there. I had to get extra utensils myself, but I didn't really mind. The food was good, certainly home made, and not out of a bag and heated by a 17year old ( looking at you food chains like Swiss Chalet, Montanas, etc). I'd much rather return here than those other spots. Great family business feel overall.

We stopped in today for breakfast and had such a wonderful breakfast! The atmosphere is exactly what you want for a breakfast diner!! Our waitress, Krista, was so attentive and lovely and the food was absolutely amazing! A simple breakfast isn’t as easy as we all think, but every part of our meal was outstanding! The bread was made fresh I’m guessing at the restaurant and was tremendous! It set my day off on a positive note because every part of the experience was amazing! Well done Krista and team and my hats off to the beautiful women in the kitchen!! Great job!!

If you’re looking for an old fashioned, home cooked breakfast, K’s is the place! Unbelievable! We drove by for years - not noticing this restaurant. The Maritimer’s Breakfast gave us 2 eggs, thick cut homemade bread (white, whole wheat, or raisin), home fries with onions, baked molasses beans, fish cakes, jams/marmalade, endless coffee… no need for lunch today!!! All for under $40 (for the both of us). We’ll be back!

If you haven’t been to this restaurant yet, what are you waiting for? From the moment we walked in, the experience was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and provided outstanding service that made us feel right at home. It was our first visit, and we couldn’t recommend it enough! Every dish was a hit—our entire group loved their meals. The Caesar salad was one of the best I’ve ever had, perfectly balanced and refreshing. The highlight for me was the spaghetti (a special not listed on the menu) recommended by our server. It came with two incredibly flavorful meatballs and tasted like it was made fresh just for us. To finish, I had the sorbet, which was light, refreshing, and bursting with fresh flavors. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent food from start to finish. Lively adult atmosphere. I will remember their Scoglio for years to come. Delicious. Only downside is that reservations seem to be booked back to back, so don’t be surprised if you are delayed if those before you are taking too long like we unfortunately were. Word of advice… if you don’t see availability on OpenTable, try calling in for a reservation and they may be able to squeeze you in.

We had an incredible evening at Italian by Night Trattoria as we celebrated our wedding anniversary! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly arranged as requested in our booking. Our server, Charlotte, was simply fantastic; she took care of all our needs with a warm smile and pleasant demeanor, making us feel special throughout the night. The hot towels before meal was also a night touch but they should add a touch of eucalyptus The meals were outstanding—each dish was a delightful experience for the palate. We couldn't resist indulging in the desserts, and they were nothing short of divine! The crème brûlée and pavlova were the perfect sweet ending to our meal. While our wine took a little longer to arrive, the exceptional service and delicious food more than made up for the delay. We left with full hearts and happy memories, thankful for such a wonderful evening. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy a fantastic meal, I highly recommend Italian by Night Trattoria. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience!

Food looks great, and stops there. This place is overrated and over priced for what is offered here. We had the crab and spinach dip, which was decent... however the tortillas it came with were extremely salty. The Bacon wrapped scallops were underwhelming to say the least. The haddock and fries was mediocre, and under seasoned and not as crispy as they could have been. The buttermilk chicken tenders were good, however some pieces were over salted. The fries and water were the best part of the meal. The service was also mediocre. Ordering took forever, water was not refilled, and paying took for every.

Very disappointing experience. Clearly no standards in the kitchen. The fact that they would serve this to a customer is surprising and let alone charge for it. This was not the only wing like this and not even the smallest. Even pub down under's cheap wings are better than these. Not only size/actual meat, but over cooked. Service is mediocre as well. No signs of guidance from management anywhere. Easy to say your money is better spent elsewhere.

I recently dined at Saint John Ale House, and I have to say, it was an exceptional experience. The food was nothing short of amazing, and each dish left a lasting impression. Starting with the Wings, they were incredibly fresh and flavorful. They were so tasty that they didn’t even need any additional sauce, which is a testament to their perfect seasoning and preparation. The Oysters, while a bit on the pricey side, were absolutely worth every penny. Fresh and succulent, they provided a delightful taste of the sea that was simply unforgettable. The Fish and Chips were another highlight of the meal. The fish was fresh, encased in a superbly light and non-oily batter. The chips were crispy and cooked to perfection, and the accompanying tartar sauce was a delicious addition that enhanced the dish beautifully. To complement the fantastic food, the drinks were equally good, offering a refreshing balance to the rich flavors of the dishes. Overall, Saint John Ale House delivered an outstanding dining experience with top-notch food and great drinks. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal.

Today we stopped in for a C2 and C8 Chicken rice was bland along with the small chicken balls and watered down cherry sauce. Food was hot, egg rolls and the ribs were amazing. Portion sizes were on point and prices were reasonable. Atmosphere hasn’t changed much in a decade and it was a bit run down. The staff were prompt.

The spring rolls are the best ever! Their service tonight was fabulous. Thank you!

I have found a new favorite Chinese place!! Most places only offer combos with meat in them but Wok's Taste has 2 veg ones and lots of veggie choices. The ginger tofu may be one of the best things I've had from a Chinese restaurant. Next time, I'm ordering the full size of that! The vegetable spring rolls are also amazing. I upgraded the rice from plain steamed rice to vegetable fried rice. Worth the trip to Grand Bay.

First time dining in at Splash and can say it’s definitely worth checking out. Started with some appetizers, calamari was good but wouldn’t recommend especially when compared to the lemon grass soup, it is a must try. As a main I ordered the cashew chicken stir fry and was blown away by the flavour and portion size. I’d have to say the value is really hard to beat with what they offer. The atmosphere is well done and gives a good dining experience.

Nice Thai spot. The food tasted heavily of soy sauce and not much more flavor than I expect from a Thai place. Service was great, got seated and served quickly on a weekday dinner time. The restaurant atmosphere is wonderful for a sweet dinner for the two of us. Nifty decorations reminiscent of Thailand. I just wish the food was more spiced and flavourful. The chicken satay and peanut sauce was definitely the best part of my dinner. Thai eggplant and noodles could've used something different.

This past Wednesday we got to Splash for the first time. We've heard great things about it and we were not disappointed. We loved the decor and found the atmosphere peaceful and relaxing. Our server Darrel S. was lovely and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the Appetizer Platter for 2 and the Pad Thai with Chicken. We definitely look forward to going back!! ☺️

Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Mel! There is a wheelchair accessible entrance, and the staff will move chairs to accommodate you. I ordered the Greek salad, and the staff was very accommodating for my allium (onion and garlic) allergy. My husband ordered the Lockstock Burger, and said it was delicious. I had cheesecake for dessert, which was great, hubby had a chocolate brownie and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great bar food in St. John, New Brunswick! We had an appetizer of fried pepperoni with honey mustard dipping sauce and then shared a lobster roll. Great meal! They also had a great selection of beer from various Canadian breweries.

Excellent, prompt service. We ordered the blueberry burger special as wild blueberries are in season and it did not disappoint! The salad with house made blueberry dressing was absolutely fantastic and the overall experience was great!

The food is really good to hear the service is really good you never have to wait long for your order to place is always clean the bathrooms are clean the tables are clean really excellent customer service the prices are very affordable really great place in a very good restaurant if you're looking for a good time I highly recommend that you come here thanks for everything guys really appreciate it. Servers were great but for a steak house, steak was sub par. Too thin, no effort. The place was packed. Felt like a pump and dump dish.

We recently visited Grannan's Seafood located in Market Square, uptown Saint John, and had a fantastic experience! This large restaurant features a dining room upstairs and a lively pub with a patio downstairs, making it a versatile spot for any occasion. Prices are on the higher side for meals and would easily be around $30 per head and more. We came specifically for the happy hour buck-a-shuck oysters between 3-6 PM. Initially, we were seated upstairs and were informed that the special was only available for the bar and patio. However, our server went above and beyond by consulting the manager, and they kindly made an exception for us since there was no clear indication that the offer was exclusive to downstairs. We really appreciated their willingness to accommodate us! We ordered 24 oysters, which were on the smaller side but still delicious and definitely worth the price. We also tried the Pesto Cream Mussels, and they were absolutely delightful—flavorful and well-prepared. Our server was attentive and friendly, making our quick bite even more enjoyable. We left feeling satisfied and happy with our experience. We’ll definitely be back to enjoy the patio, which looked like a great spot for any weather condition. Highly recommend Grannan's Seafood for a fun dining experience!

I got a reservation about just 1 hour before and they actually had a table for me . The food was so very yummy ! If you’re small they give you a kids menu which has a bunch of different activities on them to do while waiting for your food . The place is very nice and the girl serving me there was really nice (she deserves a raise ) .

I had not only an amazing dinner but an overall wonderful experience at dinner. My friend and I shared the seafood bucket and were met with a delicious dinner with the flair of the bucket being dumped out in front of you. Our waiter Abe was so friendly; sharing favorites for appetizer options, thoughtfully inquiring about any allergies, checking in on us often, and chatting while we worked through the bucket. I’d say it’s just as fun as going to a boil with the added expertise of the chefs cooking the fresh seafood to perfection. Not only was the seafood fresh and tender but the whole bucket was flavorful and even the veggies were some of the best I’ve had! I’d also love to highlight that Abe noticed me using different pronouns for my friend and respectfully asked to confirm, which honestly made our whole experience like 100/10.

Really enjoyed this Place inside and out. The food was Exceptionally on Point. The fries are almost a dry dusted parm tho so would have paired well with a sauce/dip (maybe a garlic aioli). The panko chicken burger was Juicy excellence as was the Pulled Pork grilled cheese (bread was slightly overdone).

Had a reservation booked for 7:30 for two people and was promptly tended to and given a large booth which was quite nice! Started off with the Spinach Dip which was one of the best I’ve ever had. The parmesan coated dippers were out of this world! My entree was the Buttermilk-Fried Chicken Tacos with a large Caesar salad. I’ll start with the Caesar salad because this is one of the reasons I had to knock the score to a four instead of a five. I would have preferred the dressing to be mixed in with the salad beforehand but that may be a personal preference! I find it’s difficult to mix a salad on an open plate without making the table a part of the dinner plate. I ate lots of pieces of plain lettuce which turned me off to it a bit. The chicken tacos were okay but nothing fantastic, the chicken was slightly over-cooked. Our server was fantastic and visited our table often even though it was a full house. They also had non-alcoholic beer options to choose from which I’ll always give bonus points for. We were tucked into a back corner so we could hear each other very well which made for a great atmosphere! The front patio was also still open if you wanted to hangout out front! Overall a good evening!

Excellent service. The fish and chips are very good. The IPA beer is amazing. If you are traveling with your dogs this place is PetFriendly. Thank you for accepting my pets. Are you in Saint John? You can't miss this place.
