Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Peace River – 2024

My partner got beef bulgogi, and I got Mongolian beef. His food had a bit too much sauce. (I liked mine better) Prices are really good and the food was tasty, the interior of this place was spot on - it was really nice. I tried taking pictures of the menu, the lights made it hard but I hope they help! Right outside the restaurant there's a beautiful view worth checking out. Our food was ready but the workers seemed to not pay attention as they didn't pass it to us for the following five or so minutes. Also the lady who was taking our order seemed impatient and annoyed when we touched the "welcome" cat box on the counter (the one which you tap and from it comes out a cat that touches the button again to go back in) - didn't think it was a big deal as it is an interactive toy more than it is a plain accessory, but whatever really. I do recommend checking this place out!

What a gem to find in Northern Alberta, Peace River is beautiful and has always been accommodating and had great food. But Wow Grill lives up to the name, the food was flavorful, the staff were kind and engaging, the place was clean, and it was packed woth people. Definitely a place to eat in Peace River, will be back for sure!!!

The pad Thai and teriyaki noodles were very good. My son could not even eat the ginger beef. It was so chewy. The service sadly was also very poor. She brought food and then never returned.

We had: *Daily special: Reuban burger *Smokey BBQ *Mushroom and Swiss It was a quiet Tuesday after the long weekend, only a few tables filled, and some waiting for takeout. The staff were very friendly. We asked about bringing our dog onto the patio, which was allowed as it was slow, and our pup well behaved. They even brought him some water! Service was attentive. Manager (owner?) and server very friendly! They explained the menu system as it was our first visit. (Pick your topping combo, burger patty, bun, and side.) We heard there were no onion rings available due to a staffing issue. This made me want to try them even more as now I know they are made in-house! We all loved our burgers! Good flavour, fresh buns and toppings, juicy meat patties. The next time we are in the area, we will eat here again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sean was amazing . From the moment we walked in he made us feel like family and like we’ve lived in peace river when though we’re only travelling though . Nice clean atmosphere, super friendly service . Food arrived hot and ready , and was amazing . Nice and filling , nice fresh patties . And the waffle fries are made in house which adds a nice touch . Fresh food for a fresh price , would recommend for anyone trying to switch it up and support the local food scene. Thank you Sean for a fantastic meal experience.

My friends & I love meeting here on Wing Wednesday and enjoy the variety of dry or saucey flavours. The serving staff are knowledgeable of their menu and do a fine job of taking care of our group on the busiest of nights there.

Great little place for lunch and a beer! Or a bunch of beer !! Great folks with fast service. I had an open Denver and Italian wedding soup it hit the spot !

We have never been here before, and we really enjoyed it. The staff / owners were very friendly the food was great. I forgot to take a picture for the dessert table. That's where I overdid it.haha

If I could give this place a 0 I would there ginger beef tastes like thai chilli there chicken chow mein is completely mush and filled to the brim with liquid the Shanghai noodles are so mushy they are disgusting. The salt and pepper chicken they gave us took a bite and the chicken was raw. The ginger beef is stale and hard. 10/10 would not recommend eating here…

Ordered the spring rolls and chicken chow mein. Matt's pizza has better spring rolls and chow mein was a pile of bean sprouts and soggy AF. Save your money. Or go to Kita North.

Was there for 3 day workshop...very nice meals during the workshop. They don't have an exercise room very upsetting. I won't stay there any longer because of that.

Awesome little spot. I ate in the bar/lounge area which has a great vibe and atmosphere to it. Bacon Cheeseburger was great and drinks were nice and cold.

Staff are great. Prices reasonable. No complaints about the food. All in all, good value, friendly place.

Really good chinese food. Fresh and tasted amazing. Give them a try if you r appetite is for Chinese Food.

I was recommended to try the " Rigger burger. " It was hands down one of best Burgers I've had on years. Fries were great. Gravy was good. Quick and friendly service.

Food and portion sizes were amazing, service was quick and super friendly. As a travelling worker, I have eaten at numerous Ricky's throughout western Canada, and this one was by far the BEST!! The food preparation and portions clearly displayed the cooks take some serious pride in their work, and the service prompt and friendly and attentive. I feel like the majority of the poor reviews on here stem from people coming at peak rush hours and still expecting 5 star service. If attending during hours of peak demand, one must be willing to make concessions on service and quality. I was definitely impressed on all fronts with this location, and will definitely return and recommend!

Server seemed surprised when I complained that I'd ordered toast and what I'd received was limp slices of bread buttered one side and the merest hint of darkness on the other side. Eventually brought out some which quite close to being burnt but by this time I just wanted out. Bacon and eggs were fine shredded hash browns were under cooked. Stayed here several times over time and on-site dinner used to be good but then it changed hands.

Great family restaurant. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Excellent kids menu, lots of options. Went for dinner. Will have to be back again to try the breakfast menu

We enjoyed special fried rice, ginger beef and their rock salt chicken... it was all so good and too much for two. We will be back.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Very relaxed atmosphere, soo many food choices! I ordered Singapore noodles and Almond veggie Ding. Two heaping plates of food arrived! I ate my fill and took out three full meals. Food was delicious, and bonus, they have really great coffee.

Such an authentic experience, we really enjoyed all the food our waitress recommended. They were very experienced and kind. The decorations and fish tanks added to the fun atmosphere, and we took all our leftovers with us and enjoyed them later too.

Mugs and Dough exceeded my expectations with their fantastic selection of bubble tea. I opted for the mango bubble tea with mango jelly, and it was a delightful choice. The staff was incredibly helpful in assisting me with my decision. The overall experience was excellent, making it a must-visit place for any bubble tea enthusiast.

We ordered pizza and wings. They were totally awesome. Never had better. Try them out really good.

Disappointed with last pizza i ordered, less toppings then my last two orders. Hope it was because a new person was preparing and didn't know what they were doing- next time may go elsewhere if it is the new norm.

We stayed over at Peace River for one night and came here for a nice steak dinner. Hostess and staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered to rip eye steaks to share at medium rare. Slightly disappointed that it was more medium but the quality of the steak was good. Also took advantage of the $10 off her bottle of wine. I found the best value to be the carnivore Cabernet Sauvignon. This paired extremely well with the steak and a highly recommend it! We really appreciate the board games that are available. We had a blast with our Scrabble game.

I’ve been everywhere, man. I’ve been everywhere, man. I’ve never ever had a server that was even in the same league as Jenie. She deserves a raise. If you can find her section, sit in it. If her section is full, go wander Freson Bros or something. And come back later. The bruschetta is out of this world. Order it now. Thank me later. Steaks are tender, juicy, and pretty much cooked on point. You want it rare? You’ll get it rare! You want it medium? You’ll get it medium! The cream soups are delightful. If one is featured on the day of your visit, give it a try. If you need a little comfort, the Mac & Cheese or one of the delicious desserts will give you what you need.

Meal was really good, dragon eye sushi is a kill for me, so good. Good customer service as well, friendly.

I was recommended this place by a family member as I had mentioned I would be in Peace River and was looking for a local place to try. Said family member is not one for bold flavour or trying new things so I did not have high expectations for this place to begin with and boy was I right. Very basic menu, standard small town “Chinese/western cuisine” restaurant. Was interesting to see so many sushi options on the menu, curious as to what a serving portion looked like for the prices they charged. I did happen to notice a poor review of it before I began mine. The aesthetic is banquet/buffet lay out. Not sure when they have buffet on but the buffet set up was out.guessing it’s always just out on the dining floor. Was there mid day, mid week and the place was empty. In the hour and half we were the I think 2 customers came to pick up. I did also notice the neighbouring chain pizza place had a lot of foot traffic which is a shame. There was 4 of us so we decided on a dinner for 4 combo(egg rolls, chicken balls, chow mien, ding dong beef, dry ribs, . We asked the usual question, can we substitute a dish? The lady told us, yes one substitute allowed. We collectively decided that we would like to sub the ding dong beef for ginger beef to which she told us there would be a $2.99 change?! But one substitution was allowed. We ordered a Wor wonton soup to start, very bland broth and I only found 2 shrimp in there, the wonton meat also lacked flavour. The dry ribs were over deep fried and mostly bones, the egg rolls was over battered, chicken balls had one little dice sized piece of chicken in all that dough and the sauces used in these dishes taste like the basic bulk ones from the grocer supplier. I’m sure this place has so much potential to do better and serve quality as the server and cook were very attentive.

Great buffet, not huge but good variety and quality, great staff, will definitely be back to try many other items off the menu!

Ham and pineapple comes with bologna instead of ham, because, the restaurant owners are Muslim. Service.in the pub is lacking and always has been... wont be back

I was here with a large group on a Friday night. Great location, atmosphere, very friendly and knowledgeable servers and the food was fantastic. I had the maple bacon burger with in house made smash patties and buns. This was one of my top 5 burgers of all time! I also had the deliciously crispy onion rings and tasted the juicy steak sandwich. I'll be back.

Great atmosphere very welcoming. Friendly service, seem to be familiar with regulars. Waitress knew the menu quite well amd checks in at the perfect time. Didn't feel overwhelmed or invisible. Pretty good food at a very good price. Could've done with a lime Wedge or something acidic with the tacos, and too much sauce on the pulled pork, the sweetness just took over for some bites. My steak sandwich was absolutely delicious , perfectly cooked to medium rare & the onion rings were some of the best onion rings I’ve ever had. Loved the view out on the patio

Went to Alz Donair today for two purposes. He was recommended highly to me for my cell phone repair, and…..to treat my husband to an Alz Donair. Been there with a friend before for lunch and it was fabulous. He fixed my cell phone likity split, and the service was terrific! He will be my go-to guy forever for cell phone repairs from here on out, when I am in Manning. Thank you Sir, for all that you do. My cell phone looks and works like new, and lunch was delicious . ***** 5 stars Shucron my friend!

Came up to Peace River for work and was looking for a quick dinner, happened to drive by while looking for something to pick up and stopped for a donair. Absolutely fantastic donair, fast service and reasonable price. Store is definitely more set up for take out than eat in but didn’t matter to me, the food was great. I’ll be in town for another few days and be back for more shifts in the future and will absolutely be grabbing a donair more than once.

Quiet and friendly, good for the entire family. Fast and prompt survive. They will get you on your way with your favour take out in no time. Alz donair has been a staple in our community for a long time. There’s nothing quit like it in norther Alberta!
