Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Opelika – 2024

I recently tried the spicy shrimp pizza and lobster bisque soup at Newk's, and I must say, the spicy shrimp pizza was absolutely delicious! The combination of flavors and the perfect amount of spice made it a standout dish. However, the lobster bisque was just okay, lacking the depth of flavor I was expecting. The interior ambiance was decent, but I appreciate being able to customize the toppings. One downside was the consistently stinky floor, which detracted from the overall experience. Despite this, I'll definitely be returning for the fantastic spicy shrimp pizza!

This place is now one of my favorite places to eat, if only for one reason, because of the incident my family and I witnessed. The table right behind us had a very rude and unreasonable geust that could not be consoled. The Newk's employee that handled this older gentleman did so with such class and professionalism that it left my family and in shock. I dont want to give specifics about those involved, but i will say that it happened at about 12:05 PM on June 13th, 2024. This Newk's Eatery employee deserves some form of recognition from this establishment. The employees here know what happened. If you are a higher up of Newk's Eatery and happened to be reading this, you are very blessed to have this young man work for you.

We miss the Newk's in Auburn but grateful this location in Tiger Town is still open! Love the personal pizzas and the variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, and desserts! Hope they one day bring back all of the yummy daily soup choices they had pre-COVID.

We came in to grab a casual Sunday brunch after checking out downtown Opelika. There were no tables available as we were walk-ins, but the full service bar had plenty of space. Kaitlyn took care of us well and made us feel comfortable for our first time sitting at a restaurant bar. We got the cheeseburger and pimento burger. The patties were really big and I had to eat mine with a fork and spoon, however no complaint at all as the flavour on the burger and fries were perfect. The meal does not come with condiments so make sure you order them separately. I highly recommend their chipotle aioli for the fries! I’m so addicted now. Delicious food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. We will be back!

We had brunch at Zazu on Sunday and it was fantastic. Definitely my new favorite restaurant in the Auburn/Opelika area. Everything we had was great. The food was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The chicken and waffles were the best I’ve ever had. Super cool atmosphere and great service. Highly recommended.

Whoa, amazing relocation of Zazu from downtown Auburn! Open, old-school industrial vibe with exposed brick; upscale ambiance; killer food at a great value (not cheap, but equivalent to $$$$ in Auburn); with professional service. Really enjoyed the smoked Gulf oysters. Everybody gets the poutine, too.

Came for my daughter's graduation from Auburn. We were excited to celebrate. ....and let me start by saying that I like to leave good reviews... but.....I am STUNNED by the fact that this restaurant has over a 4 star rating. IT WAS AWFUL AND OVER PRICED......and the menu was so, so very limited. Your choice was to buy a a $50 steak or nothing. And that is NOT an exaggeration. The menu was so limited. The mash potatoes were cold, the mac-n-cheese was watery, the waitress was non-attentive....... It was like a BAD version of a Disney restaurant. If you are looking for a 4+ star meal in the Auburn area.... This is not it.

Thank you for your service today and for accommodating our large party for brunch this morning. We were all running late after a graduation and your kitchen and staff all accommodated and kept the breakfast buffet fresh and available after closing hours. Thank you very much for your hospitality today. It made my niece’s day extra special. Food was fresh and hot. Management and staff is excellent here would definitely recommend for anyone in the area.

The Marriott's Southern Oak has an awesome buffet breakfast with a lot of options: coffee, juices, scrambled eggs, Omelet bacon, conecuh sausage, cereal, grits, biscuits/gravy, lox, bagels, yogurt, muffins, French toast, waffles, fruits, and more. They also have options to order a la carte off their menu or get a Continental buffet (no meats or hot food) for $5 less. We wanted everything, and paying extra was worth it! The restaurant's atmosphere is warm and relaxed. The buffet had a beautiful spread, which their staff diligently replenished. Service was good. We enjoyed our morning at Southern Oak and highly recommend trying out their breakfasts.

The food is amazing and very fresh. This is my first time eating here but definitely not my last. I consider this is my go to spot. The service was great. The workers take the time out to answer any questions. The sauce combination are great. Please let everyone know about this place.

Cozy nice place with friendly staffs. Ramen and poke bowl are pretty good. You can choose protein, sauce, vegetables for your poke bowl which has a lot of options. Quite enjoy!

If you are in Auburn you need to test this poke-bowl. All food is fresh, 10/10 price / quality rate. The place is small, but you can go with a big family and is ok. I love the decoration and the people is very kind. Even though this a Hawaiian food and this store are Korean, the Korean touch in there is a very fresh mix !! They have ramen soup too!!! If you are hungry recommend M or L coup, if not ... with a S coup are you ok. You can choose the sauces ... my special favorite is Korean spice sauce mix with sweet sesame sauce! It’s one of my favorite place to healthy and delicious food! Totally recommended for a family dinner or date dinner!

I ordered the Parmesan crusted spinach dip which is delicious. But not when you have to eat it on chips so hard and burned that it’s hard as a brick and almost chip your tooth. Who would think it’s ok to serve burned to a crisp chips?? Who? You burned them. Cook another batch instead of disappointing the customer. And this isn’t the first. This happens almost every time I order. I got this To go.. so I wasn’t able to send it back per usual. I end up having to eat with regular chips which defeats the purpose of ordering for longhorn!!

When it come to great food LongHorn always shows up! Family and I talk about the good food and we had a waitress that was PHENOMENAL! I Wish I remembered her name because of her BUBBLY personality! She gave service that you don't mind paying for! It's service like that you want for with the monies you pay. Great job LongHorn and our waitress.

They were shot handed but we couldn't tell. Good service in the bar and good food.

The meat is definitely smoked. If you like outside meat then this place is perfect for you. The sandwich was massive and had good flavor. The pickles were homemade and outstanding. The pork plate and two sides were more than I could eat. The Mac and cheese had a different texture and took away from the flavor. The bbq beans had a lot of meat and good smoke flavor. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 was the meat with the heavy smoke. The meat had been off the smoker for a while which caused it to dry out. All and all it was good.

“Hey Google, give me the best places to eat In Opelika.” Well this bbq spot showed up and thank goodness I was craving bbq. So let’s start off with the environment and staff. The environment is soo cute. The spot was definitely any other bbq would have, small, little house-like buildings with old paintings and the smell of smokes in the air. I like it. Sure it may have some scraps but it really shows how old and historic it looks. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lady that took was very informative and polite. And the guy that gave my food was quick and clear. Also to mention I went on a Wednesday. Now with the food.. it was okay. Mid. The brisket was very tender and juicy, yet it had a taste to it. That I didn’t like. Same goes for the wings, grilled nicely and cooked throughly yet it had a taste that i couldn’t describe. My sides were stew and baked beans.. I wasn’t feeling the stew that much. The baked beans were ok. Genuinely this place was okay. I can’t say more than that. Also grab peanut butter pie, I did like that. It was creamy and delicious!! You guys should totally check out the place for yourself. Everyone’s opinions is different. I won’t be returning.

The staff was great! I believe I met the owner while I was there. I could hear how proud he is of what he sells to the public. Once something is sold out, better luck next time you visit. I had the brisket plate with their BBQ baked beans and brunswick stew. I ordered a side of three ribs. They were calling me. LoL. Every bite of what I had ordered was awesome. This is a must stop if you are in the Opekila area!!

There are so many sports bar, but the Cajun menu is a refreshing twist. We dined around 7:30 on a weekday and the restaurant wasn’t busy. The service was friendly and the Bloody Mary was excellent. The menu has something for everyone, tacos to burgers to pasta. A great chain concept that I’m excited to watch grow.

One of our fav spots for lunch or dinner. Great food and atmosphere! So many delicious options on the menu. Always a great experience when we sit at the bar with Jhordyn taking care of us. She is friendly and makes sure you are well served. Definitely a spot you want to visit and will become a repeat customer!

Pleasantly surprised at the cajun experience here. While it's not totally Louisiana quality it's very good. They put my etoufee over my catfish like I asked for and it was very good. Excellent service. Would definitely return.

I was super impressed by Irish Bread Pub! My waitress was super sweet and the right amount of attentive. The environment is dark but attractive and stimulating. I loved how much character the restaurant has and would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Auburn/Opelika area. I went for brunch and got the bananas foster pancakes. I think my meal was around $13 so very reasonably priced!! The grits were my favorite out of any I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Would definitely recommend!!

I had a really great experience at the Irish Bread Pub. It was my first time. It is a really nice and amazing place. It had an awesome band, and when you go upstairs. It makes you feel like you're in downtown Baton Rouge on Bourbon Street. It was one of the greatest experiences ever!!! It made me feel like I was back in my hometown, where I was raised until I was 7. And I would tell everybody about it and give great reviews.

"Delightful Taste of Ireland at Irish Bread Pub!" My husband and I had a fantastic time dining at Irish Bred Pub. The cozy ambiance instantly transported us to Ireland. The Shepherd's Pie was a scrumptious blend of flavors that truly warmed my heart, while my husband couldn't stop raving about the Fish and Chips—perfectly crispy and deliciously seasoned. The attentive service and welcoming staff added to the experience, making us feel right at home. This pub is a gem, offering not just great food but a delightful Irish atmosphere. We'll definitely be back for more savory delights!

My wife and I needed a "Honey Date". We had both been working a lot lately and had very little time to see each other. I decided to take us to this wonderful place in Downtown Opelika. I was very, very impressed. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a great dinner experience

We chose Cafe 123 for an anniversary dinner, and it was all that we hoped it would be -- delicious, romantic, and memorable. Everything we ordered was absolutely delectable, from the fried asparagus appetizer to the grilled crostini bread service to "The Pork Chop," which now tops the list as the best pork chop I have ever tasted -- savory, succulent, plentiful, and perfectly prepared. The service was friendly, efficient, and polished. It is not a restaurant for every occasion (plan on at least $50 per person), but for a special occasion, I would highly recommended Cafe 123 in Opelika.

My husband and I took our daughter, along with her friends and my parents, to Cafe 123 to celebrate her 18th Birthday. And it was FABULOUS! As soon as we walked in, the atmosphere had a very sophisticated vibe and our Waiter and Waitress were on-point with their hospitality as well as their vast knowledge of the menu selections and recommendations. Next, the food was a CULINARY DELIGHT IN EVERY BITE!!!! It was apparent that the Chef put their heart and soul into every dish as you could taste the quality, freshness, and time in every morsel of food....and they did not skimp on the portions either..LOL! If you want fine dining in a terrific atmosphere, take your taste buds on a gastronomical experience to remember at Cafe 123. :)

The food is average. Great choice for reasonable priced breakfast. No complaints but nothing to make me return. I'm not sure if I'd recommend the grits, but the 2nd Ave plate was filling. In fact, the biggest pancake I've seen are served here. I didn't taste it because my meal was a plenty. The southern hospitality is well appreciated.

Quaint little place, service was very friendly, (Amanda) and the time waiting for food was average. Had to ask for jelly, only to find out the toast wasn’t even buttered. I did ask for my hash browns to be extra crispy and they weren’t crispy at all. Food was average, but I will say that this was the lowest price we’ve paid for breakfast in a long time! For a Saturday morning, I was surprised to walk in and get a seat immediately!

This was an amazing little diner that we took our family to. Seating was immediate even for our party of 11. My wife wanted to buy one of their shirts and they were kind enough to take one off the wall for us. Would absolutely recommend this place. The chicken and waffles was insanely good!!! Will definitely be back!!!

This was my first taste of Korean fried chicken, and man was it good! This place will be my go-to for fried chicken henceforth. I can't wait to try their other offerings. The only opportunities I see for improvement are they need to renovate the bathrooms and lower the volume on the music playing in the main area. But hey, those are minor issues when the food is so good.

The negative reviews of this place i see are 1 offs. I have been here and personally seen the owner himself operating with the staff doing even the most entry level task. This place is full of people who genuinely want to provide the best experience of authentic Korean in the state of AL. They care about your meal as if it’s their own, and provide excellent tasting food at a great price. I urge you to give this place a shot if you are looking for some Korean fried chicken or anything of that nature. You won’t regret it PS: grabbed this bad boy on my way out and man is it amazing

This place is absolutely fantastic and the food is bomb. The environment here is great, and to top it off you get authentic creations that you can’t taste anywhere else. Will definitely be coming back to support this place in the future, if you haven’t had this before and are looking for a fix, TRY THIS PLACE YOU WONT REGRET IT

This was our first time dining here at the Botanic and it was a hit! The atmosphere is very elegant and beautiful. We ordered the Brunch Buffet and it was so delicious, definitely did not disappoint. We will be back again...

Service and atmosphere help make a good restaurant but the food has to steal the show. To start with, the homemade bread they brought out was amazing but then it went downhill after that. I got the burger which is ground up ribeye so it was nice and tender but it had no flavor and no seasoning at all. I'd lacked presentation and to be honest it just really wasn't good. And it came with basic fries. The pasta was very bland and didn't have enough seasoning in it. The bread pudding we ordered for dessert was very dry and lacked enough sauce. I really had high hopes for this place but it just really fell short tonight. Maybe I'll try it again but I don't know. For the price you pay, you expect a lot more flavor. a lot. But the atmosphere and service is top notch. I will say Give it a try. Maybe they had an off night when I tried it.

It's a really great concept. I liked the decore, outdoor garden, and gift shops. The blackened salmon was ok, just a tad too much dill (hidden in the sauce). Wine selection was great! The appetizers were fun and interesting. If I visit again, I'm going to try the filet mignon.

I am thrilled to have found a great restaurant so quickly that has a friendly staff and incredible food. Cheers to the cashier who gave us great recommendations and was courteous from start to finish. Big shout out to the cook too, the chicken fingers were not your ordinary fried experience, both grilled or fried was cooked to perfection and retained great flavors!

Overall we mostly enjoyed our first time eating here. Food was okay and service was quick, but the fried chicken fingers were the star of the show. They were cooked fresh and their house dipping sauce was excellent. Besides the chicken fingers, the wings were almost cold and the kids shrimp tasted like it was frozen. Decor could definitely use some work. The inside with the green ceiling and drab carpet desperately needs updating. Gave the whole place a really outdated, dreary feel. I'd definitely come back for the chicken strips alone, but I'd be sure to order to-go next time. Not somewhere I'd recommend for a date night out.

Great stop. Had impromptu lunch here on Saturday, excellent experience. Classic southern food that doesn’t feel to heavy. Fried chicken was superb, not to mention the sauces and homemade ranch. Service was great as well.

If I could give this restaurant more stars, I definitely would. Everything was awesome! The time it took to be seated, the delicious food, and exceptional server (Hayden)! It’s hard to find just good service these days, and especially on a Friday night! Keep up the good work! I’m so glad we chose this restaurant to celebrate my mom birthday!

The service has always been top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who make sure you feel welcome and well taken care of. Whether dining in or taking out, the service is reliably good I've tried a variety of dishes from the menu, and most of them have been delicious. The pasta dishes, especially the Fettuccine Alfredo and Chicken Parmigiana, are some of my favorites. The soups, particularly the Zuppa Toscana, are comforting and flavorful. The unlimited breadsticks and salad are always fresh and a great start to any meal. The dessert options are also delightful, with the Tiramisu standing out as a must-try. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for both family gatherings and casual dinners Overall, Olive Garden consistently delivers good food and great service. It's a reliable choice for Italian-American cuisine, and I look forward to my future visits☺️ Highly recommended for anyone seeking a satisfying meal in a welcoming environment

Came in before the crowd on Sunday 06/09/24 at 11:15 am and placed our food order 11:26 am, don't know why the wait to take our food order. Our food arrived at 12:23 pm. Now they weren't busy when we went in but it took 57 minutes to get our food? Your service isn't getting any better as time is going on. What is the problem with the food being so long to be served to your customers. Your waitress needed to be better trained to keep the customers better informed as the wait time on their food order.

if i could leave 0 for service i would,,, my husband and i came in with our 2 year old and ordered loaded fries a burger, kids meal, and salad, along with a togo order for my sister. i asked for the ticket for the togo order as it was placed so my sister knew how much money to send me. i read the togo order verbatim from the text and our server (april) rang that in wrong, im a server myself so i understand things happen, however it just kept going. she forgot my appatizer that i ordered totally, which she got and didn’t put on the ticket thankfully, however she did not check on our table hardly at all. the entire 30 mins we were waiting on food (and an appetizer i was under the impression was coming) she did not walk over to the table. there was one other table when we walked in and two bar guests. had i been able to tell she was busy i would have shown more grace because i know how it is, unfortunately she just stayed leaned on the bar talking to the men at the bar rather than coming to check for refills, if we needed anything, or even to see if our food was good once it came out. she did not table touch after receiving our food so if something was wrong she wouldn’t have known. our togo order was placed the same time as ours and we did not receive that til we were paying out. she did not come back to collect payment so we just left it on the table. i understand serving tables things happen but the very least you as a server can do is communicate situations with your table and be attentive to their needs… the only time she started coming to the table was towards the end of our meal when she could see i was visibly upset. i even left a note, which i have NEVER done before here’s a pic of the note i left and her chilling behind the bar not checking on food or anything

It was very loud when we went, but it was a Friday night, and there were a lot of people just hanging out and drinking. But it made it difficult to talk to my group. The pimento bacon burger was delicious. Fries were lukewarm but tasty. Funnel cake fries tasted just like funnel cake you get at the fair.
