Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Onoway – 2024

We arrived at the least busiest time of the day. Of course trying to get in the last rides! Staff (Ryan in particular) were very nice and the place was well laid out and very clean. We opted to sit on the deck, no umbrellas (probably put away for season). I wish the wasps got the season ending message. I ordered the Philly cheese steak. It was very good, as was the pint of beer (it would have been nice to have another but we were driving). The prices are very reasonable. If in the area, it's worth giving them a try.

Went in for dinner Saturday night and I must say I was pleasantly surprised, Lisa our server was friendly and saw to greeting us and asking for our drink order when we arrived. After spending a fair few minutes going over the menu me and my friend decided to go with sandwhiches and side dishes. I got the Cheeseburger no onion extra pickles (and I am not talking like 2 extra pickles. No no, the cook Kevin added a good 4-6 extra pickles slices which only made the burger that much better) my friend ordered a monte cristo and I must say I have never seen a person devour a month cristo that quickly. I got to try a bite of it even and it had to be the absolute best Monte Cristo I’ve had in my short time on this planet. Our sides were Mozzarella Sticks and Deep Fried Pickles. Big are served with ranch on menu, I asked for Marina sauce and was quite happy to be told they had it. All in all the meal for the two of us was roughly $25 each, we both had one beverage with our meals and for the price I’d say I got more than enough food! Honestly you NEED to stop here and try the food! If Kevin is cooking you will never be disappointed!! Evening shift with Lisa and Kevin is hands down where it’s at for this small town restaurant!!

We found Wally's by chance as we were visiting Cherhill. The restaurant itself is pretty simple & is a good style casual pub. The service was really good. Our server was friendly & attentive. We loved our food! We snacked on the fried cheese curds with gravy which were lovely. Hubby had the brisket & announced it was the best he'd ever tasted (which for a carnivore like him, is a huge compliment) I had the hot hamburger meal which was delicious comfort food. We'll definitely stop by again!

Wow! We can to The Table all the way out from Edmonton to partake in a special plated meal event right during the polar vortex chill. What we experienced was one of the most mind blowing meals ever. The food was astounding. Every dish was prepared with such care and attention to detail as part of the whole evening. Even the cocktails and special coffees were amazing. The service was phenomenal. Our server / owner was so engagingly delightful, funny and attentive. And the space is so quaint. It serves as a store front for many local wares but also delicious lunches and java by day. I'd give this SIX stars across the board except then I'd have to go back and readjust every other review I've ever done. Even if you are 45 minutes out of town in Edmonton, this is well worth a trip out. You won't regret it! 5 x

Extraordinary sandwiches, and big fresh baked cookies. There is nothing else with this hip atmosphere unless you drive in to the city. Starbucks prices, Michelin recipes. Love it.

Wow! We found a lovely coffee shop right in the heart of Onoway. So great to see a cool coffee shop with an upbeat, boho vibe, full of locally sourced items for sale too. Large indoor table for a bigger group plus a couple others for seating and a deck outside with 4 more tables. Umbrellas too for those hotter times of day. Lisa, the owner, is super friendly and helpful and chatted with us and gave us some history of their place too. I would highly recommend supporting this local, well-operated business in Onoway. We ate the flourless chocolate brownie, delish! Park at the end of the building on Main Street for easier accessibility for walkers or wheel chairs. We didn’t have the sandwiches or salads but they looked absolutely fantastic! Take a turn here whether you’re local or making a special stop to try something new. You won’t be disappointed.

The Hub doesn't have huge signs but everyone knows where it is. I love the 1930's look inside. Children are allowed until 8 p.m. We weren't very hungry so just ordered a cheeseburger. No fries or anything. OMG there must have been a 1/2 lbs of meat. It had to have been 5 inches high. There was no way to bite the whole thing. It was huge AND delicious. So glad we didn't order extra. It was the biggest burger I ever saw.

Great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. What more could you ask! I had the Hub bacon and cheese burger with fries and gravy. It was fantastic! The fries were nice and crispy and the gravy was the real deal. The burger was absolutely loaded, so it took a bit of work, but I was up for the task. Definitely give this place a try.

If I could give this restaurant negative 5 stars I would. I tried to dine in for lunch with 2 other friends of mine. All 3 of us are not minors however because one of us couldn't provide ID we were asked to leave. We had noticed that the sign outside says miners allowed until 8pm regardless. I really don't understand why we were asked to leave and there's not very many options to eat in the small town.

Very great spot for Chinese food. We frequent here once or twice for month. We also hit many Chinese restaurants in Edmonton and this is great food. We usually order the combo A, sticky rice and peachy prawns. The peachy prawns are the best we've had yet. Dinner for one is enough for two of us. We always go home with leftovers.

Stopped for a taste and tried one of their specials. It was flavourful. I didn’t have any problems digesting that stuff. So i say gold star on food. Inside tho retro OLD but tables are very clean. Just an old building is all. I will try again even tho it’s pretty pricey.

Another hidden Gem, I have a passion for food. Me and my lady ordered the dinner for 1 and added an order of peachy shrimp and sticky rice. The food was phenomenal! Flourishing with flavor, portion size, and pricing is on point. We even had leftovers. I highly recommend Jade Garden. Locationed 45 mins north west of Edmonton in a quaint town called Onoway.

Ordered a double mushroom burger with Swiss cheese to go. Mushrooms tasted like they were freeze dried and burger had processed cheddar on it. To be honest, burger was gross and I think the patties (small, frozen) were a bit undercooked.

As one of the only dinner joints in town, this place was hoppin’ as many people came in for their takeout orders. Our grandkids devoured their burger, niggets and fries. I had a Greek salad w f grilled chicken, which was tasty. Take a “pass” on the chicken burger as the patty was very tiny and looked over done. The regular burgers were great. They are famous for their pizza so we will try that next time. Thank think the outdoor picnic tables will be great in warmer weather. There are four booths inside too. The server is so helpful!

On my first visit to Burger Baron in Onoway, I ordered the Single Canadian Burger and a regular coke, which was a can. I could only expect what I could from a Burger Baron, such as the one off 111Ave & 152 Street in Edmonton. They have a thin, wide hamburger patty, which could at least be an 1/8 of an inch thicker, but for the price, it isn't terrible. On this 2nd visit, I ordered a regular beef donair with cheese and sweet sauce. The sweet sauce was very good, and I wish I knew what it was exactly. I will come back to this Burger Baron in the near future to try other menu items.
