Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Oliver – 2024

Food was delicious and very reasonable pricing. My man and I really enjoyed our stuffed naan and our two curries a lot. We got chicken tikka and vindaloo. Yummy!!! Sadly I had to take two stars off because of the ambiance overall. The whole time we were there we were slapping flies away from our face. I get it. I work in the food industry too and flies are inevitable but flying by your face/mouth while you’re trying to enjoy your dinner the whole time is just too yucky to be ok with. And while I appreciate some new “renovation” it still felt like none had happened at all inside. Not sure what I was expecting but the place felt outdated, old and messy and plus the flies… it wasn’t a good dine in experience overall. I just think it would be way better if the inside of the restaurant looks better/updated and feels more inviting. Loved our waiter she was great I tipped her well and the food! but will probably only order take out from now on. Won’t be dining inside again. Sorry!

Amazing food and service. The paneer pakora, butter chicken and chicken korma were so delicious. The portions are very large. The staff were super friendly. Highly recommend.

We were so impressed with flavour of their butter chicken. Chicken was very tender and the pieces were generous. Rice and garlic naan bread topped it off. If you like the Indian cuisine, this is a must try❣️

Had lunch at the hound today and it was all fantastic. For cocktails, I had a Frenchie 75 and a Papillon - they were SO delicious. For lunch I had the Chip Butty with fries and both were delish. To start. I had olives and sour dough. The butter that came with the sour dough was to die for 10/10. Overall a an amazing experience at this elevated local pub.

A quaint ol’English style pub right across from Gallagher Lake. Happened to arrive at happy hour; ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts and the Irishman’s lunch. Both were excellent! Had their refreshing homemade lemonade with it. Presentation, taste, service and price were all 5 ⭐️!

We had such a wonderful experience! Ella was a great sever and the food and drinks were amazing. Highly recommend coming. Try the Brussel sprouts and the Yorkshire pudding- so good!!! Thank you so much!

I can not rave about the food here enough.... It was one of those meals that I'll be dreaming about for years to come, trying to replicate but failing. The pork belly gnocchi was delicious. Crispy yet tender, the gnocchi was melt in the mouth buttery. The potato truffle pizza was equally as memorable and oozing flavour. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we ordered the tiramisu. No regrets, would come back in a heartbeat. Compliments to the chef!! Awesome service too with a beautiful outdoor patio for dining.

The hospitality of the French waiter was truly exceptional, setting a warm tone for our dining experience. Opting for the Elk Shack and Octopus Capriccio, we found the flavors to be slightly above average, offering a pleasing culinary experience. The cozy atmosphere, characterized by a tasteful wooden decor, contributed to the overall charm, creating a dining environment that was not only inviting but also aesthetically pleasing.

I ordered pizza today on the website as I usually do. Shortly after submitting my order I got a call and was told that they were all out of the vegan cheese I ordered and was asked if I wanted to substitute the cheese. Unfortunately that wasn’t an option for me so I just told them to cancel the order. Bummer but okay. Shortly after that, I received another call from a worker that went to the grocery store just to ask me which vegan cheese would be okay for me. I was so surprised how hard they worked for my business. Spoke with the gentleman on the phone for a bit and everything was set. Pizza night was back on. Pizza was delivered shortly after that and the driver even showed me a photo of the cheese they went out and bought just to double check it was all okay. What great service I experienced tonight. To top it all off it was actually the best pizza I’d had from them so far. Couldn’t be happier, thank you Murray’s!!!

This place is amazing. I order a garden veggie pizza and it’s the best pizza I ever had. High- quality ingredients; supper fresh toppings and the crust was crispy and thin. Good customer service and every welcoming environment. Highly recommended and would visit again.

Spent $120 on pizza and cheesy garlic fingers just to be very disappointed. The toppings were minimal and there was really no cheese on the pizza of cheesy garlic fingers! How can you call.them CHEESY garlic fingers if there's next to no cheese on them??? We used to love ordering here but will absolutley not be ordering here again!! The quality has definitely taken a nose dive

Visiting from Ontario and was staying just a bit outside of Oliver. Partner wanted pasta, I wanted pizza so we went with Pizza 97 after a quick search on Google of local restaurant options. We ended up going with a pizza and spaghetti. Food: It was good pizza and spaghetti. I'm pretty picky on pizza and I'd definitely order again, however one thing I am stingy on is bacon crumble vs strip. If it was pieces of bacon strip I would have given food 5 stars. My partner says the spaghetti with meatballs was good too. The garlic fingers were a nice addition. Service: Service was as to be suspected for a pizza place. Walked in, reviewed menu, placed order, 25 minutes ETA, 25 minute pick up time. Wouldn't say anything stood out as great or bad. Atmosphere: I don't really have great things to say about the atmosphere of the restaurant upon entering. It's dated looking. It's not aesthetically appealing. However, it has the look of a restaurant that probably is well established and has some pretty decent food. It reminds me of a few delicious restaurants back home. Would upgrade to 5 stars if the arcade machines were working as my partner is a gamer and would have been in heaven waiting for our food. Overall: If you are visiting thru the area and are looking for some decent take out pizza or Italian cuisine check them out and I am sure you won't be disappointed

Picked my 5 year old up from school and the first things she asks for is cheese pizza. This was my first time going to Pizza 97. We get home and I give a slice to her and she goes "Wow daddy this pizza is to good. Oh wow." I really don't think it gets better than that. Thanks guys we will be back.

Food is AMAZING! Best sweet and sour soup I have ever had. Service was fine. My biggest issue is they advertise a buffet on there website and on there front window but there is NO buffet , apparently there has not been for a while now but they haven’t updated anything to say that.

This is a classic home style mom and pop shop for western Chinese food. Portion sizes are big and great prices! The almond chicken batter was fresh and very crispy. The combo dinner for ones offer variety. Would come again!

Shanghai thick noodle order has soooo much flavour ! The vegetables are so fresh! Paired it with lemon chicken ! Super super amazing !!!!! Fresh lemons with it too ! Large portions great prices! Amazing amazing …

I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The sushi rolls were incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the pizza was absolutely delicious, with a perfect crust and rich toppings. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and taken care of throughout our visit. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and excellent service!

Pizza Rolla provided the late night food for our wedding in Oliver BC. They were great and easy to communicate with. The pizza arrived on time at the wedding venue, pizza was fantastic and the guests loved it! We would highly recommend the pizza here!!! Thanks again for accommodating us :)

This place is great! Though the staff were friendly, I had to ask for water and call out to get some hot sauce. Not the greatest service for such a small place. I had nachos and asked for extra jalapeños, which were spears instead of bits, which made it more difficult to get bits in all my bites. Don’t get me wrong… The nachos were delicious! My cousin had enchiladas and she too was very pleased. All in all, it was a great lunch

This was such an amazing surprise on our BC trip….THE best Mexican food we have ever had hands down ever. Very busy and well staffed on a Friday night in Osoyoos BC cheers to the great service provided by JENNA 5 stars ⭐️ on a fantastic eve

Phenomenal. Food was great, atmosphere was even better. Everybody has an smile on their face and a cold beer in their hand. Definitely worth stopping if you’re In oliver! I will be back!!

Why oh why do I return to this place, hoping for a better experience??? Glutton for punishment. Every time I've been here, I've had issues. You will not be allowed to substitute for anything on the menu. (The breakfast sausage is terrible! I dont care what anyone else says. To me, they're gross.) So you have to deal with what you get. I like the big breakfast, but I don't want the sausage. I'd like to add more ham or bacon instead. Nope. The place wasn't very busy when we arrived, so I don't see why there would be an issue with a substitution. Zero customer relations. I ordered bacon and scrambled eggs, no sides. My date got eggs Benedict. At least the food was OK, but how can a cook screw up bacon and eggs? I've seen the owner's snide remarks to anyone who posts a negative review instead of being kind... They lash out or insult the reviewer instead of taking any responsibility or trying to fix the issue. Very poor business practice. The place is so outdated and old looking. The staff seemed tired and subpar (though one younger girl was superb), and there's one lady walking around trying to look important (I assume the owner) but not really contributing to anything other than chatting up the old folks who were obviously regulars. I waited the entire meal to get a refill of water for my tea and gave up. Just don't. Go to Smitty's in Osoyoos. At least there, you can get what you want.

This is our first time here as we are on holidays travelling through. We both ordered the 2 eggs which came with bacon and my husband had the ham. I selected the cube potatoes which were fresh and absolutely delicious. My husband had the hash browns again which were fresh potatoes and they also were delicious. I did find that the coffee was a bit weak. Also the noise level was quite high . Our server was very good and attentive.

One of my favourite haunts for a quick, affordable and somehow still phenomenal breakfast. Although my visits are usually first thing in the morning, even the times I've been in the afternoon during peak hours I've felt right at home. The service strikes a great balance between professional and personal. I'm consistently impressed.

Best pizza we’ve had in a long time! Very hot hot, prepared quickly and extremely friendly helpful service. We are visiting Oliver from Vancouver Island and we would make a point of eating here again! Even were given free juice and cupcakes! Excellent all around, highly recommend.

Love Baby Rae's pizza! Always prompt and friendly service, and the pizza is great. Quality ingredients and consistent taste. We've been surprised by free cupcakes and pop on a few occasions and think it's so cool that they do that. You can really tell it's a family run operation and that they strive for continued excellence. We love the spinach and artichoke dip pizza, and the classic pepperoni is our go-to. They also do HUGE walkaway slices if you're in a hurry or need something quick and inexpensive. Must visit if passing through or visiting Oliver and craving a good slice!

OMG! First pizza place I have visited in Oliver, so far, and I was not dissapointed! I ordered the Hawiian Special and Chorizo Special and both were So much FRESH and tasty toppings on these pizzas and the Chorizo wasn't hard and dry, it was soft, and cooked perfectly. A perfect amount of cheese to hold it all together. The tomatoes were juicy. I am very impressed as I am pretty picky with my pizzas...has to be worth the cost. The employee was very pleasant as well. Good job guys! We will be back! Lots!

Came here for dinner and the restaurant was not busy at all. We sat outside on the deck and it was very quiet and peaceful. Our daughter ordered the poutine which was a large bowl and she enjoyed it. My husband ordered the quarter bbq chicken with fries and the vegetables of the day. I ordered the half chef salad which had fresh greens, eggs, tomatoes,cucumbers, ham and chicken. The half portion was even big. The service was great and so was the food

Came here last week, as we noticed they had some vegetarian options on their menu, and were hoping things could be modified to be vegan. Unfortunately they were out of falafel when we were in, but our server was super knowledgeable about ingredients and substitutions, and I was able to find a vegan pasta on the menu. They also allowed us to sub a veggie burger for a regular burger on the kids menu at no extra cost, which was so great! (Honestly I wish more places did this, thank you!!). I also loved their non-alcoholic beer, made in house, and wished I had thought to buy a 6 pack to take home! Thought this place was a great compromise for people with different food preferences and dietary choices, and we all enjoyed our meals. Our server was excellent and super attentive! Will be back!

I have been to this the Firehall Bistro several times over the years and have always had a great experience. The service is always fantastic and the food is very consistent and a good value for the dollar. Burger night on Mondays is my favourite option. I recently went on Pasta Night and chose the pasta and rib combination. It was a great combination deal for $18. There is also the brewpub downstairs which has fantastic beer options and live music some days. This is a great option for casual dining when you are in the Oliver area. Also they are kid friendly with food options for young ones.

I've eaten here before but today will be the last! My gfs burger was the texture of microwaved frozen patties that looked freezer burnt. The bun was microwaved frozen and so wet that she had to remove it ! My meal was acceptable but neither of of ate our meals because we were infested with terribly annoying flies! All over our food! We had both meals sent away from us told the server what the problems were and not even an offer of any discount for troubles. This was disgusting!!!! Not the servers fault !

I hate leaving reviews like this. was there Saturday afternoon. The service was really really slow. It look 30 min to get a drink after you ordered it. And she brought us someone else’s food. Then the lowest tip option is 18%. I just hate paying for a bad experience but that’s the expectation in the service industry now. If this was not the only option in town I would go somewhere else.

What a wonderful dinner coupled with amazing scenery, delicious food and impeccable service. My friend and I wanted a fun spot to wine and dine and this restaurant didn't disappoint. We started with the duck pate and a special they had for the night which was a kind of halibut batter-crusted prawn. Both were full of flavor and included components we were skeptical of but ended up devouring. We both enjoyed their main halibut dish for dinner and while I feel like it was under-seasoned, the gnocchi was pure melt-in-your-mouth on a plate. With an impressive menu and plenty to drink, you definitely want to give this place a try. Pick a nice night and sit on the patio! You won't regret it.

Sat on the outdoor patio and had a wonderful dinner. View was very nice. Staff were super friendly. We had pizza, the chicken dish and the halibut dish. Everything was delicious 5/5. Mushroom risotto that came with the chicken was cooked to perfection. Plenty of free parking.

Excellent service; spectacular view, wonderful Mother's Day luncheon. I would suggest gluten free or other options for people with allergies. This said, the Chefs offered what they had and completed the luncheon with a loverly dessert. We highly recommend.

This is Oliver’s best restaurant, hands down! Really nice menu and the food is incredible. The location is perfect. You can either sit in their restaurant or one of the many white chairs and tables around the wine village enjoying their delicious culinary masterpieces. Their Chef has created beautiful and tasty dishes.

Went to Ward's to try their new menu and loved our lunch. Had the ramen and curried beef bowl. So good! Kids shared a burger and fries, then went skating on the new outdoor rink. Service from Ally and host Mindy were wonderful. Great afternoon with the fam-jam!

Great little hidden gem. Nothing fancy as far as decor but if you are looking for some tasty fish and chips this is the place in Oliver BC. Generous portions, light and crispy. Would recommend it if you're in the neighborhood.

Fabulous 1pc fish & chips meal comes with a large piece of fish, fries, AMAZING coleslaw, pickles, fruit! Everything tasted wonderful and fried fresh to order. Sorry… in the photo there’s only half the fish as I remembered to take a pic after I ate half, haha

Amazing fish and chips. Have tried the cod, haddock and halibut. Cod and haddock are nice and flaky. Halibut is quite thick and hearty. The prawns are also nicely battered and crunchy. Fries are great but don't leave everything in the box too long or it will get soggy as they come out fresh and hot. The apple coleslaw is nice and light. The clam chowder is well seasoned and perfect for cold days. Will definitely be returning :)
