Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Newport Beach – 2024

We love the atmosphere here, with its huge patio perfect for bar drinking and dining. Karina assists us in making excellent food selections. We enjoy cocktail and beers, and food are absolutely delicious. We too love the fudge sundae dessert; it's my husband's favorite from his childhood. We will be back!

We live in Fresno, but I’m on a two week work assignment in Los Angeles. We wanted to see the Newport beach at sunset and that didn’t disappoint. We read the reviews on the beach and the restaurant. Neither disappointed us and we had a wonderful time. The salmon wasn’t cooked the way we liked it so the recooked it to our liking and brought new sides atop of the ones we already ate. We had enough for the next day and the service and atmosphere were very memorable. I’d highly recommend this place if you want an excellent restaurant experience.

Wonderful vibe- super bougie . Food is clean and yummy. We always sit at the bar/ bar top tables. Good viewing space to watch older me try to catch younger women. Shrimp cocktail was delicious, love the seasonal artichoke, ribs were really delicious but heavy.

Our server was amazing. We showed up close to closing on accident, but our food came out quick, our server was knowledgeable, we enjoyed chips and delicious salsas while we waited for our meals. We tried the 3 tacos with beans and rice. My first taco was the shrimp. It was flavorful and so good. Price was fair. I Would recommend for sure.

During my second visit to this restaurant, I missed out on trying the fried ice cream due to the cold, but my wife relished every bite. The chips and salsa stood out with a unique twist, and their signature butter was exceptionally flavorful, perfect with the tortilla shells. Both the chicken and beef were tender and juicy, devoid of any dryness. Set near the beach, the ambiance was relaxed, enhancing the dining experience. The service was attentive and courteous, and the place was kept clean. I highly recommend this spot for a great meal.

We went here after paddleboarding the marina for two hours and filled up on appetizers and margaritas. Their pitcher of blood orange margaritas was great for the two of us and paired perfectly with our ceviche stack and corn ribs. We were so full that we didn't make it to an entrée, but the main courses looked delicious!

Greeted by a very polite hostess and seated. Easy to make a reservation online. They were busy and the staff polite. The waiter seemed rushed but I think they were short staffed. The view of the water and boats was very nice. Heaters on the deck were nice! The bathroom was filthy, which shocked me. Food was decent not incredible.

Seafood extraordinaire. We really enjoyed the selection and dishes. Beautiful atmosphere. Positioned near the water, you'll enjoy this whether you eat inside or out.

We have been to several of these throughout So Cal. The food is always great. I love the Oysters Rockefeller and the Goat Cheese grits and get them every time. The clam chowder is one of the best I have had. The Mediterranean Ahi Salad was a bit bland. The lobster roll is very good but standard. The only bad part today was the unhappy employees. Maybe it's not a great place to work? The girl that sat us was just a downer with no smile and you could feel the bad attitude. The waiters were not bad, but not engaging, no energy or smiles. We won't go back to this one, there are several of these around. Try the one in Carlsbad, the people there were energetic and happy. The one in Redondo Beach is wonderful as well. Too bad because Newport is close by. It's worth the drive to go where you feel wanted.

We enjoyed the unique menu offerings and restaurant vibe. Our server, Tiffany was the most attentive and kind server ever! She checked in with us to make sure that we were 100% satisfied with our menu choices. The blackened chicken was exceptional! Everyone on the service team wished my husband a happy birthday, adding to the occasion. I look forward to returning again!

Loved the place, the vibe and the exceptional service. The food was great, we had steak ravioli, sushi, market salad and butter cake! Enjoyed every bite! My spicy passion fruit margarita was delicious! And our server Emma made the experience better by her great attitude and professionalism!

This was my 3rd time having dinner at Joey. My friend took me for my birthday and we both had the Salmon. Delicious! Atmosphere, beautiful! Our Server was Zach H. and we were so impressed with him, what a pro! He was so on top of everything and had a charming personality. Thank you Zach for treating us so well!

The food was good, you could tell it was made fresh. The service was amazing. I always had people checking on me to make sure that I had enough water and I felt very taken care of. I sat outdoors, and the weather was perfect. Also, the people next to me had a dog, so I assume that pets are allowed outside. I love that about this restaurant.

This was the first time I was invited here for a branch, it is inside fashion Island mall, so the navigation could take you in circles, which it took me in circles until I was aware that it was inside the mall the food was OK. I ordered them ribeye with eggs. Mix with some vegetables for breakfast I didn’t like the flavor that much. The service was great. Romeo was our waiter. He provided a good service fast service and the atmosphere was nice The bathrooms were nice and clean as well so overall still nice place to have a quick little meal and I recommended.

I ordered the Lemon Shrimp Pasta and it was delicious. Lots of shrimp in a buttery, cheesy, zesty sauce. Perfect!

Super tasty food! I'd say go for the hot honey fried chicken! If you can finish this massive treat!! Our server was on point and our meal was enjoyable. Everything we had was great! Definitely recommended. There's covered outside seating. Seating near the kitchen can be loud (kitchen noise), but not a deal breaker.

Staff was very accommodating to our requests. We had set a reservation but arrived early - staff sat us as soon as we arrived. Waitress was knowledgeable of menu and wine. We were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday & staff surprised him with dessert upon private request. This is one place I would love to come back to during future visits! The food was delicious and portioned perfectly!

What an amazing setting! Spectacular views! My coworker and I wanted to get something to eat after work. Being here in beautiful Newport Beach, we had plenty of places to choose from. I had heard a lot of praises from my clients over the years about The Rusty Pelican, so we decided to check it out. I'm glad we did! It was amazing! With excellent food and service! Our server, Brenda, was phenomenal! She made great recommendations, and she really knew a lot about the menu, about the wines they have, and about the desserts! She was very friendly and made sure our water glasses were always full. My compliments to the chef! ‍ The dishes were not only beautifully prepaid, but they were cooked perfectly! All the food, from the shrimp appetizer to the desserts, was a delightful taste sensation! I will be back again and again! Love love loved this place. First the biggest shout out to Sam our waitress, she simply was AMAZING. Fast, responsive, and nice. The food was perfect, started with garlic bread: served warm, garlicky, buttery and simply yummy. We tried the seafood pasta and chicken piccata which both had the most delicious sauce (lick the plate deliciousness level), the grilled sea bass was simple yet cooked to perfection. We finished with a to-die-for warm flourless chocolate cake with raspberry coulis served with a giant scoop of vanilla ice cream. If I could come up with one complain that would be the kids burger was too plain and dry but good size.. The other downside is that you have to valet the car for $8 (no self parking) and the valet staff have a bit of attitude. Overall I cannot wait to go back and try more of their menu.

This place is my go to Italian restaurant when I'm in the area. I regularly take friends here whenever I can. Everything is outstanding from the very friendly staff, the very warm and comforting atmosphere, as well as the great food. My favorite combination is the fettuccine with spicy meat pink sauce and sausage. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Mama’s D has always been my go to Pasta place since I was in high school. It was great back then and it is still great now. If you love Pasta/Italian food, look no further than you’ve come to the right place. My personal favourite is the homemade pink sauce with Angel Hair.

Italian food nearby, good price, very popular, and the friendliest wait staff! I swear id go here just to talk with the waitstaff as they are so nice and accommodating. The portions are good and the flavor is great. Whenever you come you should expect a bit of a wait, but they have a bartender going around, and even little samples of noodles for you to stay occupied. If you ask the wait time, add about 15-20 minutes to it. Once inside order right away and I swear your food is out in a second. They also serve a nice warm cookie at the end which is a perfect dessert

I came on my birthday 7/17/24 after whale watching and it was so great, I came again tonight. I had salmon, and my husband had half and half fish and chips. I have a lot of allergies and they accommodated all my needs better than other restaurants. They offered us some fried zucchini on the house and that was fabulous. The salmon was delicious. The veggies were perfectly cooked. My hubby said the fish and chips was great. The view is beautiful. The staff was top notch. I can’t give credit to just one because many came to our table. One brought my water, another brought my hubby’s beer, then someone else brought the food, then that same girl brought the free zucchini, then another brought me a plastic fork, our actual service came in between asking if everything was good if we needed anything else. it’s definitely a team effort. I am making this my special spot to have a great meal in a great atmosphere.

A trip to Newport would not be complete without stopping at Newport Landing restaurant for Happy Hour. And if that happens to coincide with sunset - all the better. Every once in awhile if the weather is just right, we opt for dinner instead. The food is fresh and they go the extra mile to make it visually appealing, which just adds to the great vibe. Service is always friendly, and if it's a bit slow because they get busy, just enjoy the view.

I absolutely love this place! It has one of the best sunset views in Newport Beach! Top 3 in fact. As the sunsets over the bay, the whole This place lights up with Beauty it’s a don’t miss!!! Ok is this the best food u have ever had, No but it's pretty darn good! does it have the best dining view in Newport? YES Does it have a great Happy Hour Yes!! Does it have great food for the price YES!!!! This is one of those hidden gyms that a lot of people don't know about, but it's a really special and fantastic place. The staff are all very, very nice. A lot of locals come here to grab a drink at the upstairs bar and the view is outstanding especially at sunset. I love this place and it's a go to for me. I come here for the happy hour usually and I’m satisfied with great drinks and great service. I don’t necessarily come here for the food come here for the vibe and the drinks. I feel like it’s a really great value!

I received a gift certificate a while ago and wanted to give it a try! The food is beyond my expectation. Very nice restaurant with good tasted Mexican style food. I am very pleased with the service and the seating. We sat outside for dinner because it was still light and bright. Good place for friends and family gathering.

Oh WOW. You might already know this spot for upscale Mexican cuisine . . . but if not, think of delicious food with the most gorgeous atmosphere (vibrant decor, glowing lanterns, and an expansive tequila selection right as you walk in). BUT THEY DO BRUNCH, TOO - and it’s seriously worth it. Fair prices, great vibes, and stellar service. It was not busy at all on a Saturday morning, so the word needs to get out about this! We started with bottomless mimosas and sangrias ($25/person!) and kicked things off with their chicken tortilla soup. We then dived into standout dishes like steak & eggs, carne asada fajitas, and steak chilaquiles. But the real star is the French toast, and pairs so perfectly with all the savory dishes. Do NOT skip it! Loved everything about our experience!

Had the pleasure of experiencing Red-O for the first time. The food is super delicious and you can tell the craftsmanship they put into the food. The service however was what made me fall in love with the place. My server Edgar definitely takes cares of his clients and made us feel like it was our casa. Definitely give my man a huge praise !

The saffron spinach ravioli was amazing! It was creamy and satisfying, something unique and a must try. Lasagna and handmade pastas are all incredible though. I thought the zucchini blossoms were way too battered, losing the delicate flower. Overall, a fabulous family dining experience!

Food and service was amazing! Had the caprese and farro primavera. Just took off one star bc the server forgot my friend’s margarita and for an extra $10, I wish the farro came with more shrimp.

Excellent Italian restaurant! Our servers both times were very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend the lobster ravioli and the salad with tomatoes, carrots and onions and add the salmon! Sooo delicious we went back again for lunch!

Let me first say that the views are gorgeous! But they pack people in like sardines!!! The four of us all felt extremely claustrophobic with people seated on both sides of us so close. We had 4:30 reservations and man we are happy we had the reservation. The drinks are great (margaritas, expresso martinis and lemon drops). All excellent! And the food was all very, very tasty. Truly my only complaint is the loud music and the crowded feeling. The atmosphere is beautiful but it is hard to appreciate it all when there’s hundreds of people crammed in.

Javier’s is one of the best places to ho enjoy mexican food and drinks. I love the decoration and service. Staff are professional and great. The food is high quality and consistent. The only reason I gave 4 stars to this place is due the very loud music. It was so hard to have a conversation with your party or even with the servers. The music was annoying to the extent that we just wanted to finish the food and leave. I just wish the management reads this review and reconsider the volume of the music played in the restaurant.

Easily the most expensive Mexican restaurant I've ever been to outside of Mexico, and definitely the most bougie. Fire pits everywhere, and fantastic looking bars, including one with ocean views. I took the enchilada seafood trio, and it was fantastic. Service was impeccable, very professional and helpful. Worth it for the ambiance alone, but the whole package is flawless.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary in Newport Beach. We have been to Newport several times in the past, but never to 21 Oceanfront. We started at the bar, with great service, drinks, and a spectacular view of the ocean. A gentleman strumming a guitar and singing made the experience even better. Our reservations were at 8pm. We were seated promptly by a personable hostess to a table, and the outstanding view of the ocean continued. Our waitress was amazing. Polite, friendly, outgoing, and competent. The food, top notch. We started with the lobster salad. My wife ordered the 8pm Sea Bass, and she claimed the best dish she had eaten in quite a while. I ordered the seared Ahi Tuna dinner, very tasty. Overall, it is a great location, people and food. We are looking forward to our next meal at 21 Oceanfront.

I was visiting the area for work and decided to ball out my last night somewhere nice. This place is the definition of “fine dining” and was amazing in every aspect. My Cabernet was so smooth and paired well with my dinner. The seafood linguine had all the best seafood mixed in and was very filling. Had great service as they were all very attentive for anything I needed.

Classic chic restaurant in the heart of beautiful New port pier with friendly staff and an average food. We ordered medium well steak but it was more like well done and tasted very ordinary, clam chowder soup was cold and tasteless.

Nobu is an exceptional dining experience! The Japanese-inspired dishes are not only beautifully designed but packed with incredible flavors. I had the black cod, which was absolutely divine, and the date cake for dessert was the perfect sweet ending. While the portions are on the smaller side, every bite is a masterpiece. The service was also top-notch, making it a memorable experience. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a treat-yourself night!

The service was impeccable from start to finish. We would come back just for the service if anything. But the great news is every dish she recommends is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to secure a reservation at this location, even for weekend lunches. The food maintains the high standard synonymous with Nobu, living up to the brand's well-earned reputation. For vegetarians, there's a delightful array of healthy and delicious options to choose from. The spicy miso eggplant comes highly recommended and is a personal favorite of mine. The setting of the restaurant adds to the overall dining experience, boasting a relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of the Marina and boats gliding by. While it may not have the celebrity draw of the Malibu location, this Nobu spot is definitely worth visiting if you find yourself in the area. Expect a wonderful culinary journey without the hassle of a difficult booking process.
