The truffle Parm fries were a delightful starter. Mojitos/old fashioned were perfect. The ribeye was perfect, the potatoes rivaled thanksgiving dinner quality, the asparagus cooked and seasoned properly (most over season and over cook so you can't even taste it) Server was very well informed, and provided excellent service. Love this place I strongly recommend the patio!
We went to Moxie‘s in Newmarket to celebrate a birthday. We had never been there. We ordered drinks to begin with, and my daughter found that the drink she ordered just didn’t quite meet her expectations. We spoke to the server regarding this along with the Martini, I had did not have any olives. The server did not charge us for my daughters drink. That was very nice of her. Two of my daughters shared a plate and the kitchen staff divided up the plate and brought it to the table. That was very good of them. Normally you would only get one plate and you have to divide it up yourself. My wife and I both had the sirloin steak, and it was cooked to perfection, medium rare. We opted for the green salad to accompany the steak along with mashed potatoes. They were both delicious as well. Very nice place to have dinner.
What an incredible experience we had! Not only was the food amazing, but the service was outstanding as well. The atmosphere of the place was cozy and inviting. Our order consisted of chicken Alfredo, nachos, and a burger, and every dish was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The burger, in particular, was incredibly tasty. Additionally, I decided to order a pizza from the kids menu for my little one, and it came in a medium size. We were so impressed with everything that we will definitely be returning in the future.

I enjoyed a great meal at Milestones Newmarket last week. The spinach dip is great, and the California salad is amazing! ❤️ Service was excellent - Sid was very friendly, attentive and fun. I highly recommend this location. Lots of delicious things on the menu - the Portabello Mushroom Chicken entree is also fantastic! I'll be back for sure.
As a regular customer of the portobello mushroom chicken, I was very disappointed with my recent order. The food quality, takeout box, and accompanying pasta were all below expectations. The dish had barely any sauce, the chicken was dry, and there was less pasta than usual. Given that we pay for this meal, we expect a reasonable standard of service. Please address these issues. Thank you.
We were at Milestones for January 1st. Food and the environment was really good. I think the service could have been better. A few times we have to wait long time for a server to come by so we can ask for ketchup or napkins or more utensils.

The restaurant was very convenient for its location. I ordered a Greek omelet, which came with potato, toast, and a few slices of apples. Surprisingly, I got charged extra for the veggies they put in the omelet and also for the cheese. They also charged me extra for the coffee, which was told to be included. No one informed me about these extras ahead. The server was nice, but he acted as if these all would be included. In the end, when the breakfast menu costs between 12 to 19 dollars, I end up paying 25 as a total bill. Which I don't appreciate. I feel the server should inform people ahead at the time of taking the order about what will cost them extra. The ambiance was nice but disappointed with these extras. The taste of the food was good.
Best restaurant I’ve been to in Newmarket, very vintage feeling on the inside, older and clean and well kept. Staff are friendly and easy to talk to, doesn’t feel like I’m in Newmarket. Will come back for sure, some of the best salad I’ve had!
We used to go to The Buttery with our family for dinner but this was my first time going for breakfast. Our server was friendly and efficient. The food (eggs Benedict) was so delicious! The coffee was good and always filled up. It was a nice and quiet atmosphere with some large round tables so your group can all talk with eachother.

It had a nice interior, but the service wasn't good. It took 25 minutes for someone to come and take the drink orders. He poured some of it on the table though. We chose 2 starters, and they said they ran out of both. Took another 45 minutes, and the server came to inform us that they had run out of chickens but they handled it and offered a salad for the delay finally got our dishes after 1 hour and 10 minutes and it was just OK nothing special.
We’ve only been here for drinks at the bar but we’ll always come back. They have great elaborate cocktails that you’d find downtown on king st. But not for downtown prices. The bartender/mixologist Luke is a craftsman and also really great to talk too! This is the only place I trust to order a Manhattan off menu and get it perfectly prepared. We’ll be back to have a sit down dinner.
This was one of the best dinners we've ever had. My husband and daughter and I opted for the Chefs Tasting special. A selection of choices made by the chef, with some input from us through our server asking us what we like generally. It was $50 a person (reg$55) but it also included a drink and dessert and it was served family style. Let me tell you, you will not be disappointed. So much good quality food! And the servers were all fantastic. Wonderful place with a nice higher end vibe. The patio was also full. I can't say enough about the food and that they try very hard to please by tailoring the items you receive to things that you indicated you would enjoy. We will definitely be back!! Check the pics. It was 10 courses in all! Yes 10!
Cynthia’s Chinese Restaurant in Newmarket is a delightful dining establishment that brings the rich flavors and culinary traditions of China to the heart of the community….
A lovely fine dining experience. The server seated us and unfolded the napkins and placed on our thighs. Came around the table and politely asked if we were going to use the Chop sticks and then removed them from the cover and placed them neatly next to the plate. Food was good. Loved the Crispy OK tofu and the diced vegetables with ginger and egg whites rice. There was live music and he was really good as well. They bring you warm towels at the end of the meal. A very nice experience. Very friendly and attentive staff.
We recently dined at Cynthia’s Chinese Restaurant in Newmarket and had a great experience. The standout dish was definitely the Lemon Chicken—it was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of tangy and savory flavors. The service was excellent, with attentive staff making sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. As for the Fried Rice, it was good, but not my favorite. It was flavorful and well-cooked, but I’ve had other versions that were a bit more to my taste. Overall, though, the meal was solid, and the Lemon Chicken alone is worth a visit.
The service was quite good, and the sizes of the dishes were generous. The interior decoration is luxurious. The restaurant has a private dining room. The location is good too.

Meghan in Newmarket was great. We ordered nachos on a busy Saturday night, they came out in 5 minutes - excellent portion sizes, plenty of food. She made sure we had everything we needed. Even sent us home with take away sour cream and salsa for our leftovers. Well worth it.
Can I just say.... Wow! The Christmas decor is amazing! They went above and beyond! Our family was so impressed! Its so festive and made us feel so happy!!! Liv (Olivia) was our waitress, she was amazing, great with our kids! Food was amazing, always is!
Sydney K was our server tonight and she was amazing! Super fun and friendly. LOVE the abundance of Christmas decorations here, it’s crazy! And the music is always perfect, a little bit of everything.

Today, I went to Mandarin in Newmarket for lunch for the first time to celebrate my relative's birthday. It was a very pleasant experience. The food was fresh and delicious, the turkey was especially fragrant and tender, and the service was very warm and thoughtful. Special thanks to Ms. Vivian for her excellent service! I will come to your restaurant again!
Came to Mandarin on a Wednesday morning after running errands in Newmarket and we figured we didn’t know what we wanted to do for lunch and mandarin was just opening. We were instantly seated and our waitress, Faye grabbed our drink order and told us what special items they have for the moon festival. We tried most of the things that they offered, and I’d have to say they were good. The atmosphere was beautifully decorated for the Moon festival ! Thank you so much to Faye and everybody who worked in the room to make this experience easy and seamless definitely would recommend anyone who’s looking for variety of food and friendly client service
So many good food options! I love the variety of food as well as the taste and flavours. They had teriyaki salmon tonight which was sooo amazing. Can't go wrong with some jello as well

I recently dined at Luna Ristorante, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The new management under Pravin and Sharan truly brings a fresh, welcoming energy to the restaurant. They were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, explaining the menu with ease and offering helpful suggestions. It was a pleasure chatting with them, and I’m so glad to see the restaurant in such capable hands with this next generation! The food was fantastic—full of authentic, bold flavours that left a lasting impression. Our favourites were the Fritto Misto, Bruschetta, and the Seafood Linguini, all perfectly paired with a great wine selection. The whole family was delighted, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!
Found this hidden gem in Newmarket!♦️✨️ A surprise birthday dinner brought me to this unassuming facade that belies the bustling environment within. All tables were filled, and we waited a short time for a table turnover. I'm not sure if they were down a wait staff. However, two ladies attended to our orders, along with another who may have been the manager/hostess. (??) Although they were busy, we felt taken care of. We started with the Grilled Calamari appetizer, the Penne Vodka, and two specials; the Duck and the Salmon Rigatoni, with capers. Everything was delicious!! As quoted by my daughter, "The Duck was mind-blowingly amazing, I felt like Remmie from Ratatouille with fireworks going off behind my eyes!" The meal was capped off with desserts, Raspberry Sorbet, and Tartufo Royale. The night ended with someone else paying the bill, so I don't know how much was spent per person. We will definitely be back to try other options on the menu.
My husband and I dined at Luna this evening. The food, service, staff and ambiance were amazing! We enjoyed the meal and service, we also left no sauce in our plates from the ravioli, the seafood pasta, and as for the bruschetta

Came here as part of my Bachelorette party. I was so nervous about the wedding so I only got the soup but it was just what I needed. It was a beef based soup that was filling and flavourful. The tortilla chips added a good crunch. The server was also very nice and we enjoyed talking with her. My friends ordered pasta dishes which were big portions so definitely getting your money's worth. Looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes.
First time to Orsini, me and my wife enjoy the dinner here. Traditional Italian food, seafood linguine and Veal Fungo. Portion a bit small otherwise it’s perfect. Service is great.
If you’re ever in Newmarket this place is a gem! It was a low key night with a friend so we didn’t drink or eat as much as we usually do so I will definitely have to go back! Our server was so nice and attentive to us. He made great recommendations and knew the menu very well. Our food was delicious. I’m obsessed with arancini so if it’s in the menu I’m ordering it. They didn’t disappoint. Sold as one ball but a generous enough portion to share. The sauce was delicious! The signature penne orsini was yummy! Pasta cooked perfectly and a balanced amount of toppings with sauce. My friend had the veal parmigiana which she loved and had enough to take some home! We skipped desert and only had sparkling water so it’s on my list to go back when I’m not driving and with a bigger group! Restaurant can definitely accommodate big groups with large comfy booths! Loved this place and would definitely recommend it for others to try!

Hubby and I got married in Villa Risi 18 yrs ago today. At least once a year, we go back to celebrate. The service and food never disappoint. Last night, I had the bacon wrapped scallops. Best I've ever had. I may even just pop by to order them as a snack. My chicken stuffed with roasted red peppers and spinach was delicious. I love that they make everything fresh so I can do the sauce sans peppercorns. Hubby had the heart-shaped pasta. Delicious! Because, of course, he let me steal one. Lol I definitely recommend Villa Risi. You won't be disappointed. A local family owned restaurant doesn't stay in business unless they are great! Lastly, the owner (Francine), who helped me with our wedding plans, went above and beyond with assistance. If you're looking for a restaurant venue for any celebration, consider checking them out.
Italian cuisine at it's excellence. Don't let the location fool you, the place might not look temptinig from outside but inside you will have a fine dining equivalent experience and some amazing food.
Great food very tasty, good selection of food and wine with a very nice jazz atmosphere, went here for my birthday and will definitely be back soon!

Friendly servers, lively environment, decent food. Our server was helpful in giving some recommendations, and our food came quickly. It’s nice that there were 4 tacos (instead of the 3 you get at most places), and the prices are reasonable. Our table was a bit sticky, which is never great. Definitely more of a place where you come for the lively environment than for a nice conversation.
If there were half stars I’d give 3.5 stars. Service wise, not bad. Everyone was very friendly, our server checked up on us often but not too often and we got our food pretty quickly. Same with drinks. While we waited to be seated we saw the bartender making the mojitos and they looked so refreshing so most of us got one! The fish tacos and carnitas were the tastiest. The only thing is that it’s not double shells like most other places do so our tacos ended up falling apart one bite in. The sides were ok, not my favourite. Cleanliness of restaurant - for me there’s the hole in wall places and then nice places. This space reminded me more of a pub, the in-between where booth seats would have crumbs and food on it, menus would feel a bit grimy and cutlery wouldn’t be cleaned properly. So expectations were sorta set. When I unraveled my cutlery set, which was likely put together by a person, my knife was completely covered in caked on green stuff, probably guac… that didn’t get washed off in the dishwasher. How they missed that, I’m not sure, but I returned it to the server and asked for a new set and carried on.
Food was excellent, if you're getting tacos they all seem to be good just depends on preference and toppings. I would recommend paying the dollar extra for the hard shell as my street taco (soft shell) was amazing but they all fell apart, being the messiest taco I have ever eaten. That all being said it was fantastic and very very filling. I like the atmosphere and the quality/quantity was excellent. Definitely a good place for all ages and even for birthday party's

Overall pretty good, definitely wish there was more vegetables on the plate...can't say I've ever seen a serving that has literally only one piece of broccoli or a single piece of a red pepper.
More details will be on my blog for my followers. Location: the restaurant itself is a bit hidden but next to a hotel. It has a bit of an old Italian Tuscany feel and look. Being a Wednesday it was very empty. Service: this is hard to be critical ... the lady was quite nice but lacked simple things. I start my meals off when doing reviews with a cocktail. I ordered a Negroni to which I got ... I don't know what that means. No attempt to talk to the bartender just staring at me. If you are a steakhouse and bar there 3 main cocktails you MUST know. 1) Manhattan 2) Old Fashioned 3) Negroni. They are iconic. With her lack of effort I just take a red wine. Here is where this costs them. I determine how much I am about to spend based on this. If you can't make 1 of the 3, I pass on appetizers, desert and a scotch to finish. I will say she was attentive but never asked if I wanted more wine. Just got .. anything else after my food was done. Food: I've seen some good reviews so I was hopeful. Stater was a Ceasar salad. It was OK and a fair.portion. Would prefer to see homemade croutons for the price but overall dressed properly and flavour was good. Main: I order a sirloin med rare with fries and veg for sides. Fries. Store bought frozen. At $34 I expect better than Costco Cavendish. Veg: 1 carrot, 1 small beet and bok choy. Interesting combination. Cooked properly but kinda light on the portion. Steak: perfect med rare .... but zero seasoning. Salt and pepper are essential, especially when grilling. Just lacked flavour. As I said. No dessert when you can't even google Negroni.
Been several times, very satisfied with quality, cooking, presentation and quantity of the portions. Could recommend the roast beef, the steaks, but we are still talking about the seafood appetizer platter. 3 of us split the small one...it was very well made and fresh, too. Yes, I/we continue to return to try more dishes. Lastly, the salmon is very good, as well. Exciting on Saturday nights, the place transforms into a latin dance party with music and beats by Rumba 66. Goes until 2am and worth the visit to checkout the atmosphere and vibes. Great destination for this event!

We came for a Sunday lunch on a nice sunny day, sat right next to the pizza oven. It was a perfect place for a slow lunch with family. Great appetizers, the pizza was quite decent, and the risotto was surprisingly good. Definitely the ambience/view of Fairy Lake is part of the experience. Good option if you’re craving Italian.
This was the first time at Joia's. We were seated on the patio, and it was a lovely evening. We ordered two virgin mojitos, the bruschetta, as an appetizer to share and our mains at the same time as they looked busy. The drinks came in 10 minutes, but it took about 30 minutes to get the appetizer. I was pleasantly surprised by the bruschetta. It was laid out on a thin, pizza style flat crust with fresh tomatoes, olive oil, and garlic. It was delicious! We both ordered the Linguine Pescatore, which had small pieces of salmon, octopus, mussels, and clams. I was looking forward to this dish but it took almost an hour to come to the table!! Service was extremely slow all around; I'm not sure if this is standard for a Saturday evening. As we waited, so did others. Everyone was looking around and looking at the dishes coming out to the other tables. Unfortunately, the dish was a bit salty and very oily. I was too hungry by that time to send mine back, but my friend sent her's back and ordered the Pesto pizza. The pizza took about 15 minutes to come. I'm glad we had good conversation to cover the long wait. I may come back to try something else on the menu, and maybe the service will be improved.
3.9/5 The food here is decent but it’s definitely the ambiance and vibe of fairy lake that you are paying for. Unless you’re sitting on the large terrace, the inside isn’t anything special. The menu boasts a plethora of options and despite the food tasting okay, the price tag doesn’t justify the quality or portion size (at least in my opinion ♀️) The cheesecake was soggy and didn’t have that flaky base that you want a cheesecake to have and the two fish specials (that cost $40 per dish) just wasn’t very filling/satisfying. I will admit that the grilled octopus, Aperol spritz and cappuccino were all delicious though ☕️
