Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Mount Pearl – 2024

A good family restaurant in Mt Pearl. Just entered and ordered hashbrowns for takeout, which is why I've only given 3 stars. Their menu was actually great and not overpriced. They had some good vegetarian options available. The restaurant was actually spacious and was not crowded when i visited. They also have a huge area for conducting conferences and birthday parties, which is great. The review will be updated upon future visits as i have to try out more items from the menu.

Wait staff very friendly, very efficient. Ordered the turkey dinner. Something of a misnomer. 2 scoops of potato, 3 or 4 pieces of turkey, drowned in gravy. The carrot was RAW as was the broccoli. Oh, and the meal was COLD. One would assume that turkey dinner would include turnip, at least. No turnip, but it did rid me of the bothersome constipation I've been having. A memorable dining experience, but for the wrong reasons.

We wanted to have a Jiggs dinner and we stumbled across this restaurant. We managed to order the last Jiggs. The food was decent and very hearty. The service was friendly.

This place was absolutely horrible. Me and my boyfriend went there for supper on a Sunday evening. We both ordered the steak which was super overpriced and over seasoned we couldn’t even finish it. The fries were like mush and the corn on the cob was super well done and wasn’t eatable. The garlic bread was the only decent thing on the plate and it was burnt… not only was the food bad but our sever was super rude. She didn’t introduce herself, she like dropped our drinks on the table spilling a bit and didn’t even bother to wipe it up. When she came with out forks and stuff she pretty much just tossed it on the table giving me a bit of fright as I wasn’t really paying attention and before I could look up from my phone she was gone again. We also ordered nachos to go and and they were made before we even got our food because I was gonna ask for something not to be on them and I was told it wasn’t possible because they were unfortunately already made… I also made a complaint to the store but I haven’t heard anything back yet because the owner is away at a golf tournament. So needless to say we won’t be going back

My fiancée and I came here for dinner and drinks on Saturday, the food was delicious but the highlight by far was the service. Our server Trysten was very friendly, attentive and accommodating to my partner’s dietary restrictions. We hope to have her as a server again next time we come back!

Was here a week ago and did it ever change my perspective on this location. Most of the food was awful, so greasy it was really bad. We ended up taking our spinach dip home so we could actually eat it without rubber like chips. We told our waitress and all she said was “oh” completely ignoring what we said. I had to ask for ice in my water twice until she went and got it. It completely changed me & my family’s outlook on this location. We travels over an hour for horrible service and extremely greasy food that definitely wasn’t drained when it came out. I was hesitant on changing my review but after all that i needed to. We weren’t offer to have a new plate brought out or even a discount seeings, very disgusted. Wont be coming back to this location ever again.

During my visit to Asian Cafe, I encountered a few issues that marred my dining experience. Firstly, the pricing felt unjustified for the portion and quality of the food served. The ramen, a staple for any Asian cuisine enthusiast, was unfortunately bland, lacking both proper seasoning and salt. An unexpected aspect of the service was the additional charge for condiments. When I requested pepper and salt, a basic necessity for any dining table, I was charged $1.50 for a small container of pepper. This is a condiment typically provided complimentary at other establishments. It wasn’t the cost that was disheartening but rather the perceived stinginess. The quantity of salt provided was a mere teaspoon, treated as if it were a precious commodity. The staff’s reaction to my request for pepper and salt was also surprising. They seemed taken aback, as if such a request was out of the ordinary. Before providing me with the pepper, there was a noticeable two-minute discussion among the staff on how to address my simple ask. This level of hesitancy and reluctance to accommodate a customer’s basic need is concerning. In conclusion, the combination of pricing, food quality, and service has led me to decide not to return to Asian Cafe. It’s unfortunate, as I believe every dining experience should be enjoyable and leave patrons looking forward to their next visit.

Used to enjoy the food here, but noticed the use of AI generated images on their doordash menu. This is intentionally misleading, not to mention hugely unethical. If you can't provide an actual photo of your own food, why would I trust your product enough to make an order? Can't recommend them after seeing this.

If you’re looking for authentic ramen, you gotta go here. After trying pretty much every place to get ramen in St. John’s, this place was the first one that I was able to get exactly what I wanted. I ordered the tonkatsu, which is always my favourite and they did not disappoint. The broth was awesome, the meat was great, noodles were perfect. 100% recommend to anyone who enjoys authentic ramen. The pricing was great, only around $17 for a pretty large bowl. Amazing place, please check it out if you ever get a chance!

Best Chinese food ever. The batter on the chicken balls is light and not oily. The veggies are fresh and tasty in the various dishes. Highly recommend. Currently only take out available.

This was my Grandfathers favorite place to eat. Good food. Go give it a try!

I really enjoy Lucky’s. It is always fresh and I don’t feel sick after eating it like I do with a few other places who serve Chinese food in NL. The service is always friendly although a little slow it is worth the wait.

Try there new poutine dishes and rotisserie beef! It's fantastic! Always great service! There take out area is super quick and had friendly staff on hand!

Their food here surprisingly delicious. Fresh noodles made and fresh meal everytime. Clean place even kitchen and toilet. Value of food is affordable and portion is pretty good. You won't be dissapointed.

Food was fantastic! Each dish for the Dinner for 4 was freshly made while we waited, not mass produced buffet style. Everything was crisp and fresh. The staff are very polite, friendly and efficient. Absolutely loved the food.

I went to this location with my family last night for my wife's birthday. She had the turkey pot pie while the rest of us had breakfast for supper. The wait time wasn't long at and the service was really good. The food was excellent and the desserts were awesome. This was a very reasonably priced meal for four people. I highly recommend coming here.

Food is always fresh sometimes takes a little longer if they're busy but well worth the wait service is awesome

The service was excellent. The restaurant was very clean. Our mains were very enjoyable, but the chicken fried rice was very basic. Overall, it is excellent value and a good experience.

Uber delivered our food. It was cold when we received it. And there were items missing. I reached out to Uber and the restaurant. The food was not good, was cold with missing items. I have eaten there before and the food was good. What happened guys? A refund would be appreciated as we were very unsatisfied customers.

First visit here and service was quick. There isn't much seating area, and the restaurant seemed busier with the takeaway orders. That said our order was taken quickly and food arrived fast enough. Portions were average sized and meals were filling. The seating was comfortable but has the fast food atmosphere even with some Asian music playing.

Turkey did not seem right maybe it was just me but it seem to be different didn't taste like Turkey at all and it was dark meatmore like the meat they use in soups and stir fry

This really is a hidden gem. Always friendly service and great meals. I’m partial to their Chinese food but the fish and chips or the hot turkey sandwich are great as well. Drop by and give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. Added: this has become a regular stop for lunch. Service is always exceptional, food better than average at very reasonable prices.

Cozy, clean, friendly, family restaurant. We are camping in the area and enjoyed a nice supper.
