Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Midland – 2024

A total mess from a customer service standpoint. Walk in, no host, no one taking names for seating, giving anyone an idea of how long the wait will be, just a notebook that people (some, not all) assume they sign into. Occasionally a server will check the list, then pick some random person/group to seat. Being a party of 1, I watched several parties that arrived after me get seated. No rhyme or reason to the process, not a good first impression. 30+ minutes to get seated, and being a busy place, I understand, but at least have someone keep those who are waiting at least a little informed. Server taking my order is pleasant and friendly, order a glass of wine, takes forever, blames the bartender for being slow. I order food, I'm asked "salad and bread?", said in a way that I believe many would think it comes with the meal, so I didn't ask. I order, told I can substitute the offered side, no up charge mentioned. Food arrives, a little slow, but tolerable. I had quail, and as noted in the rating, food was a solid 4. Get the check, and there is a 5 dollar charge for salad (for one person, a small bowl of lettuce, tomatoes, and dressing), a 2 dollar charge for side dish, and, I'm charged for a more expensive glass of wine. I bring it to the server's attention, he blames it being noisy and hard to hear properly, and adjusts the bill for the wine. A classic example how poor service, apart from the food, start to finish, will definitely keep me from returning.

Wall Street Bar & Grill is a great place to eat. The food was excellent and service was great! The menu has a variety of food from steaks, seafood, and salads. The building has that old look and feel to it reminiscent of the old western days. I had grilled quail and it was top notch with a nice, smokey flavor, my wife had cilantro chicken which was juicy and flavorful. The drink menu included a $250 bottle of wine so be ready this place is on the pricey side. I would suggest dressing up a little to eat here....most people were in business attire. Great place to bring a date or your business partners!

Classic Midland, The staff make you feel like they are so happy to see you. The food is too good...I want to eat it all. I keep eating the salmon, that is like grilled and topped with this refreshing salsa like stuff...oh, the salad & warm fresh bread. Great adult atmosphere friendly & fun

My fiancé took me here for my birthday and we had such a lovely dinner. The service was accommodating and very friendly from the start. The food tasted great, and the atmosphere had a homey feel. If you love wine, they have an amazing selection. I would definitely come back for the reasonable prices and how great everything came out!

My husband's work Christmas party was hosted here. I thought the vibe here was amazing. It was decorated really cute! The service was perfect and the wine I had my waitress pick for me was delicious! My chicken was super dry and I almost choked on it swallowing. But, other than the dry chicken everything else was great. The meatballs were yum. Their bread was good. The fettuccini Alfredo was yummy too. I would come back for sure if I'm ever in Midland again. Oh, and I would suggest offering sweet tea too. Unsweet tea in Texas should be illegal.

Likely the best restaurants in Midland/ Odessa we have been to. A must for upscale dining. Everything in the menu sounded amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful

Dude. Ribeye tacos, yes yes yes! This place was really cool. Well lit, nice and open and an atmosphere like a weekend every night. The staff was super attentive and very friendly. The food was really really good! Queso just right and the tacos, oh try the ribeye tacos!! I'll 100% be back. Good clean restaurant with great environment. Prices were outstanding too!

Nicer than expected. The food was good, large portions. Beverages are well priced. Our host was excellent, wish I could remember his name. This is a very nice place, I will come back, especially to sit out on the patio. Beer selection is pretty big, I like that. Update, the grilled fish is good, especially with the aioli sauce.

Paloma and margarita both good at hrat prices. Mexican eggs Benedict was delicious. Tacos were great as well.

First off I’d like to say the service was great. But I’m there for a good meal and I can honestly say it’s the worst I’ve had in awhile. We all three of us felt the same way. My burger was honestly just nasty. The meat had no flavor and it was really juicy but the juice was just water…? The bacon tasted Microwaved in the cheese tasted fake. Same for my buddies burger and the other guy had a steak that was way over cook and had a bad taste he said. They were super busy, so maybe they just rushed the food out, but it tasted nasty and I felt bad the whole next day. BUT the roll and fried pickles were good.

I always love texas road house. It's atmosphere, its family friendly. Though the music is quite as loud that hard for me and the waitress to hear each other. Food was good not as what I remember this time it not as seasoned but it's a easy fix , appetizer was great, and even our waitress Sam is wonderful, she always check on us , as me and my friend enjoy our wonderful dinner and chat. So we take the kid out for a birthday dinner. The waitress is not very friendly and just never comes back. By the end of our mail we still haven't seen our waitress. If you go to the Texas Roadhouse in Midland everyone's experiences may be different on the day in the waitress. Most are friendly others well you'll see what I mean.

Sebastian was an amazing, attentive, and friendly server. The whole staff was extremely helpful as well. We experienced actual teamwork in this visit. Spry, the manager was also very attentive to all restaurant patrons. And our steaks were absolutely delicious. Food arrive hot and in a timely manner. Thanks for making my daughter’s 14th birthday flawless.

On my way through, I stopped and I am certainly glad I did. My waiter, (forgot his name) was a young man. Couldn’t have been more than 21 yrs old. He was very attentive, professional and kind. He did what other wish they could do. (Good job young man!) The food was superb! The red wine was better than superb. The whole experience was a delight to end my day. My wife and I will be back possibly Sunday 12.01.24. Thanks again for a delicious and delightful experience!

I had dinner here with some coworkers while traveling in Midland. We were promptly seated and had a very nice and helpful server. Kylie took care of our every need and went above and beyond to ensure we had a good dinner. I had Pat’s 12 oz ribeye with a loaded baked potato and a house salad. It was so good! Cooked to order, quickly, and perfectly. I’m so glad we stopped in!

This is by far the best Italian restaurant in the area. When we had an Italian exchange student staying with us, we brought her here. She said this was pretty legit! The food is great and the service is just as good. They do get busy, so the servers may not get around to you immediately, but they don't forget about you. They are always friendly and helpful also. We opted for a pizza this evening. In our opinion, these are some of the best pizzas around! We really haven't had a bad meal here. Are you having a hard time figuring out what to eat? Don't worry too much, it all tastes great. This is a BYOB restaurant. They have a $10 cork fee also. The parking lot is not real large. When Ray's is busy, you may have difficulty finding parking.

We are passing through Midland on vacation and we’re looking for something Italian. The garlic rolls were delicious and the dipping sauce offered the perfect amount of zing from the balsamic. We ordered the Special pizza with all the toppings. Crust was thin and lightly crisp, perfect to our liking. Plenty of toppings and cheese. Our daughter got the spaghetti with marinara. The sauce was the best consistency and clung to the noodles perfectly and wasn’t too sweet. Would be a regular if we were from the area.

We came here due the excellent Google Reviews and we were not disappointed…the fried calamari was very good, fresh and tender but not crunchy I ordered as a main entree the spinach stuffed ravioli and my wife ordered the chicken Marsala… both dishes were delicious and the presentation was great. Fast service and good atmosphere.Kind servers The only con: the do not sell alcohol….!

Food was fantastic! Service was impeccable. Liked the ambiance but we were seated right next to the bar downstairs in the basement and it made it impossible to hear my girlfriends while we were having our yearly catch up. This is not the place to go if you want a light, quieter atmosphere. It feels very trendy, loud, and dark. This place is perfect if this is the ambiance you want.

Surpassed all of my expectations!!!! ONE THING FIRST- I could eat their wedge salad every day. Best I’ve ever had. Great food. We took a large group and had like everything on the menu. Everyone said it was incredible! This is a top five west Texas restaurant!!! Steaks and Tuna.. OH MY

Having lived in Midland from 2010-2014, where there wasn’t much to offer. My daughter worked an internship and took me to Opal’s Table her last night. It’s great to see Midland thriving with new restaurants and bars. The atmosphere was modern with a touch of industrial. We downstairs at the bar. At first service was acceptable but then took a turn for the worst :( Food was great! Filled with great flavor and came out fast. Service continued to decline. When spending over $200 at a restaurant I expect to receive remarkable service. That's not the case at Opal's. Our bartender was never around and had to be flagged down for another drink. The most disappointing part is there were two other girls working behind the bar who lacked team work. We ask one of the other girls for a drink. She looked at us and walked away. If only these bartenders knew that they would make more money working as a team. Had we received good service, our bill would have been much higher . Overall, great restaurant and great location. Maybe service will improve overtime. I’ll always tip appropriately to service.

MaMaMiA!!!!! What a place! What an experience! Luigis is a restaurant in the truest sense- they make nearly everything in house! Ranch, idealism dressing, marinara, you name it and they carefully craft it! This helps to create food that is out of sight! The thin crispy style pizza is a must try! The pasta and meatballs we had were incredible as well. But let’s talk about atmosphere- the entire time I was is in the restaurant I had feelings of my time spent in little Italy in lower manhattan. The building is dark and packed with shadows from the candle light dancing everywhere. They really pack the place in with people yet I couldn’t tell you anything about the people sitting near us! Incredible atmosphere that really builds on to a great experience. Our waitress was Kimberly who did an incredible job! Fast, friendly, and always smiling! Overall this left us with one of the best restaurant experiences in west Texas and we look forward to the next visit.

The food was very good and the portions were generous. My husband and I both had the manicotti and a side of spaghetti . My husband liked it so much that he ordered an extra plate of spaghetti to take with him for his lunch the next day. My husband is very picky when it comes to Italian food and he was very pleased. Too bad this is a 10 hour drive or we'd be visiting often. It is very dark, so there is no speaking to the cleanliness of the dining room. It did have a nice romantic feel with the candles on each table. The wait staff were all pleasant and even though the room was full (no empty tables) the service was on point. Great experience.

What an excellent find it was when I was introduced to this restaurant during my last trip to Midland. The prices were very reasonable, the service was excellent, and the cuisine was very authentic for an Italian restaurant. There is something of a history wall on both sides of the restaurant, which I feel really should be updated. The place was very clean, and we loved the candles at each table. The place really gave off an old school Italian vibe. My coworker stated that the only thing this place was missing was the Italian mob boss asking Tony to try the minestrone soup!

I have never been here before being that I'm from El Paso. The atmosphere was very colorful and pleasant to the eyes. I had the chicken flautas and they were very good. The only thing is they only give you two. My wife and the tilapia and she liked it. Overall it was a good experience.

Great place! Me and my 2 female flt crew memberz stopped by this restaurant to get a couple of margaritaz. After looking over the menu, I made a mental note to dine here my next visit to Midland-Odessa, TX. I ordered only one mango margarita, along w/ my 2 female guests, but next time, I'm ordering the shrimp cocktail that lookz like it comes w/ mango too and may have to look over the menu a lil' more. Everything looked and sounded delicious. The smell was so tempting. If only we didn't have other planz we would have for sure ate here. That's ok. I definitely will be back when I'm in the area again and will keep everyone updated w/ more picz and videoz. Until next time...

The atmosphere was pretty cool.. reminded me sort of the Pink Store in Polomas Mexico.. food.. its not bad if you have a very mild spicy pallet.. im from New Mexico and the enchilada had zero spicyness.. (the salsa was hotter).. i had a combo plate.. the queso on the corn tortilla.. idk what that was supposed to be.. for me it was not very authentic.. the food was hot..and my server was nice.. so i fave this place 3 stars..

Loved the vibe, staff was nice, & food was delicious. Goodnight/Good Cause burger I would definitely recommend. Had everything I usually order on a burger. Burger patty was juicy. My only complaint would be the fries being given to me 10+minutes before my burger. I'm sure I could have said "no I'll wait" but I was told they would come a couple minutes before my burger which I figured a couple minutes not a big deal. No we had just finished paying & someone was waiting for us to sit so they could give us our fries. I would definitely recommend giving it a try. Next time I go to a Hopdoddy I want to try a shake they looked so good!

We really enjoyed hopdoddy! Came on a Saturday afternoon before it got busy. Great atmosphere. We had the BBQ Ranch fries, a classic burger and the Goodnight burger. Absolutely amazing!!! The fries are fire !! Caffinated BBQ sauce was a huge hit! Meat was seasoned just right and the portion size was spot on.

Samantha the bar tender was enthusiastic, charismatic and very attentive. Food was great as always! New burger every month! Highly recommended!

Steakhouse Heaven! This local gem nailed it! Steaks cooked to absolute perfection - melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The True Buckaroo cocktail, is a generous Old Fashioned done right. Crispy rock shrimp app was a fantastic start. I would personally skip the sides, but SAVE ROOM for the Baked Texas (for two!) - worth every calorie. Go for the steak & drinks, stay for the dessert!

Brunch was fantastic! Rack of lambs was amazing. I was disappointed they didn’t have mint jelly but Dylan recommended a reduction and that was superb on the lamb. The French toast was good. Service and food was worth the price! We will be back when we go grocery shopping at HEB again.

The food was delicious. It was nice to go to a steakhouse in the Midland/Odessa area, and not have to send it back because it was not done properly. The waiter was the best we have ever had. He was attentive and had excellent reccomendations. This will definitely be our anniversary go to spot.

These deviled eggs are downright out of this world! Every bite left me completely blown away! You have to try them! The steak salad was exactly what I was looking for, great sweet tea. The service is amazing, prompt, and plentiful!

Been twice with a friend, delicious food and great options with fantastic service and a welcoming, well thought out environment. Our waitress Katy was very attentive and kind, tolerated mine and my friends jokes and maintained professional, friendly service.

Really liked this place. They have many menu options, and everything I've tried has been excellent. The building and atmosphere are new, modern, clean, and open. They can seat a lot of people but it can get busy. The kitchen is professional and puts out some nice dishes with quality ingredients. I loved the french dip, pastrami sandwich, the soups, and salads. They also have fresh squeezed lemonade that is just right.

This is a theme-type restaurant, in my opinion. It has This western charm with high ceilings, artifacts, and western type cuisine. I can't complain about the food, it was excellent. The service was questionable. We were seated right away, but we had to have been there 10 minutes before someone finally came by to take our order. I didn't get her name, but she was so business like and wasn't even willing to engage in social conversation. Even after we got our food, you would ask her for something, and she would respond while walking away and not even stopping to make conversation with you. I was in the middle of a sentence, and she was gone. This was at about 2:00 pm, after a lunch rush. It wasn't that busy, but it would have been nice if the waitress would slow down enough to at least care what the customer needs. As a theme restaurant, it would have been nice to have a better experience, but I don't think we'll be back to this regional chain despite the excellent ambiance and food. Customer service is very important to me, and if it is to you, think about it

2nd choice for late lunch before flying back to Dallas. I think had I ordered something different, I would have given the food 4 stars. The catfish was seasoned just as the menu said. It was little spicy, but the country fried steak had little flavor at all. Fries were good, Cole slaw not to bad but mashed potatoes were cold. Music playing was not too loud. Alot of different things on the wall made it interesting to see. Front door staff was friendly and got us in quickly. Waitresss appeared to be in a hurry to get the day over. Asked us about dessert 1/2 way through the meal and brought the check a few minutes after we de lined.

Stopped in only because it was where I needed to eat. Food and service exceeded expectations. Salmon was cooked perfect, Lexx did a super job taking care of me. (I have GOT to remember to order water at all restaurants. $3.29 + tax for a glass of tea is whew). Other than that food prices are reasonable. Glad I stopped in.

I eat here EVERY time I am in Midland, near Midland, or can make an excuse to stop in Midland, the owner is very hands on and sweet, but the star is definitely the food. The sauce on their chicken poblano should be on a shelf in every grocery store. Absolutely delicious a lively environment and great service!

I won't be coming back. $9 corn queso which wasn't good. I don't recommend the pork belly taco because they are too sweet and bot savory at all. I ask don't recommend the combination platter, the taco came with one tomato and the seasoning was bland. There was also a cheese enchilada that didn't taste good with jalapeño. $60 for a poor meal for two.

Love this place. They have premium steak tacos and great seafood options. The Cuncun Jalapeños are unique and delicious. I can't ever enjoy their drinks as Im usually here for work, but they look great. The staff and management is always friendly and responsive and the food is excellent. I love when the salsa has a little extra heat, it's not always exactly the same when I visit but always fresh and delicious.

I always get the chicken bacon macaroni. My fiance had the chicken fried chicken. Absolutely delicious. We order the same things very often. Last we gone we spun the wheel and received a coupon for a free 12 inch pizza. Can't wait til next time. GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE

Take out order, call ahead and leave a message. Standard thai curry pasta, amazing. Tried pinwheel lasaga. Was very good, just a little different that previous pictures. Caesar salad, also great.

Very disappointed with this establishment. We stopped by earlier in the afternoon to ask about take out and were told best to order before 6 pm. We called in at 5:30 only to be turned down by staff, who rudely hung up the phone!!!!!! It's a shame. My husband's take out birthday dinner will thus be from a different establishment that is true to their word and respectful. Avoid Lilys restaurant in Midland, Ontario, because of its bad vibe attitude and dishonesty.

Went for the first time for my boyfriend's work Christmas dinner and I can honestly say I'm very impressed. We were lucky to have tried all of the appetizers. Bruschetta both regular and mushroom were delicious. Flaky Filo wrapped brie with a creamy mushroom glaze was AMAZING. Calamari was tasty! Not rubbery and coating was wonderful. For my main, I had chicken parmesan with roasted vegetables and a pesto pasta on the side, large portion and it was so delicious ! Chicken was cooked perfectly... and to top it off .. a special cheesecake for dessert..incredible. I am still thinking about the food..My partner and I will be back for a special occasion. Found this little gem on a road trip one day. Let me tell you how amazing not only the food was but the service and friendliness was outstanding. It truly was. Just the name alone is what drew us in and it did not disappoint. My husband had the pickerel dinner and I had the prime rib dinner. Both meals were absolutely delicious

We have lunch at Mom’s Restaurant whenever we visit Martyrs Shine. The food is always excellent! During our most recent visit, we had James as our server, and he was awesome! Although he was serving multiple tables, he was anticipating , genuine and attentive. I started to cough at my table and in seconds before I could turn my head, there was a glass of water placed beside me. James thought it would help. That simple anticipation created a great experience. Thank you!

Another great Friday lunch at Dillon’s Midland, On. Pepperoni & Margarita za’s, caesar salad, mushroom special soup, brussel sprouts special, caesar drink. All amazing, service and ambiance on point.

I visited this restaurant for dinner on a Sunday evening and was thoroughly impressed. The service was exceptional; we dined on the patio, where our waitress provided attentive and prompt service despite the busy atmosphere. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Although beer wasn't prominently featured on the drink menu, they do offer Muskoka Brewing on tap as well as a selection of basic beers in bottles or cans. I highly recommend dining here.

We found ourselves in Midland hungery and tired after cycling the Tay Shore Trail on a Sunday afternoon. Everything was closed or closing for the day but found Dillon's open and inviting. Sitting outside enjoying the patio we soon moved inside to listen to the fantastic live music. They had a fine list of wine choices and interesting cocktails. We were so impressed with their pizza. They do not skimp on toppings, with loads of decadent meats and cheeses. Peach on pizza??? Yes!! Amazing!!! Their pizza prices are a bit higher than average, but well woth it. We each ordered a gelato but didn't realize the portions would be so huge - it was so good that we somehow managed to finish it all. We will definitely return next time we're up in Midland

We come to Midland quite often in the summer and were happy to visit this place! Most of the places offer deep fried stuff and here everything is made from scratch. The interior of the restaurant is charming, they have a nice patio as well. Portion size is on the bigger size and everything tasted delicious. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive, especially to our children. We loved everything and will definitely be back.

I had dinner with my family for Thanksgiving, and we all ordered the Thanksgiving special. It was amazing, in my opinion. My family and I enjoyed this 3 course meal. We got soup, a main course, and dessert for $28. Definitely will dine here again.

The decor of the restaurant is fantastic - it's light and comfortable, with beautiful pictures of locations all over the world on all of the walls. It seems that they change their menu periodically to be from one part of the world at a time - when I visited, the menu was all Mediterranean cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious, and my favourite was actually the appetiser, Spanokopita. It's like a small pie stuffed with cheese and pita, and I could have eaten that as my full meal.

Recently attended their 7 course weekend tasting menu. Happily welcomed by the host staff and escorted to our table near the fireplace. The servers were quick to bring out each course and clean plates in between. Each course offered a unique palate and every bite was delicious. The portions are relative to a “tasting” menu but I assure you, by course 7 you are fully satiated! Looking forward to attending a future tasting!

My mother and I had a lovely date night at this restaurant. How it works: each week, this restaurant changes its menu and serves a 7 course meal. Dinner started at 6:00 p.m. and ended at 8:00 p.m. I would suggest arriving about 10 minutes earlier than your table seating time. The process: tickets for this restaurant must be purchased online. It was an easy process using my credit card. After purchasing the tickets, I immediately received my receipt via email. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were already on the guest list. We did not have to show our tickets at the door. The location: I was a bit disappointed with the location of the restaurant, as it's located inside of a hotel (I should have done a little bit more investigating beforehand, as I imagined it would be in an heritage building, or old library...) I believe the restaurant seats about 75 people. It's a nice atmosphere, with a fire place in the center of the restaurant. The food: the quality and taste of the food was very good. However, the portions are very small. This is more of a "tasting" than a full meal. The presentation was lovely. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at our table and there was a small glass of champagne. The service: we had excellent service. The process is very organized as they serve everyone the same plate at the same time. How to dress: I would say that this restaurant is more upscale than casual. I would recommend this restaurant to ADULTS that are looking for a nice night out. I do not feel that this is a "child friendly" restaurant.

Omg we came here tonight for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! A seven course Mexican inspired meal that was massive and so tasty! Everyone in the dining room was asking for take away boxes because there was no way in hell you could eat all the food that was served. So worth every penny!
