Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Memphis – 2024

We stopped for dinner on a Sunday in August. We sat at a booth. Our server was polite and attentive. The food was very good. We had two side salads and shared a seafood pasta dish. The atmosphere was laid back and easygoing. We walked from the hotel so not sure on parking but I’m assuming street parking. I think this was one of the best meals we had while in Memphis.

We were staying in downtown Memphis and found The Majestic Grill online. Close to the hotel so we went over and had no problem getting a table. The restaurant has a 30s or 40s retro vibe which was appealing. Tables were on several levels, and there is a second floor level. One feature is a large overhead screen that plays old, black and white silent movies. The service was above average but not outstanding. Our server seemed uncomfortable in his interactions. He actually carded me, and I can say it was decades ago since I was 21! Food was middling. One of us, a vegetarian, ordered the salad and it was basically a pile of lettuce with a few apple strips, some lines of dressing, etc. Very unsatisfying. I ordered pork chops, carrots and mashed potatoes. For the price, the dish was disappointing. The awesome desserts we saw listed in the online menu were not available. Another disappointment. The cocktail was delicious! Parking would be in a garage. The block this restaurant was on was a pedestrian walk through.

What a unique find! Set in a former movie theater, this space is glamorous. They have silent movies playing overhead - which was great for my 10 year old - while still being a classy adult restaurant. The server was very accommodating. The food was excellent and the selection looked great, there was plenty on the menu that looked good to try. The dessert flight was a hit with the whole table. I'd definitely come back here the next time I'm in Memphis.

Yum! Warmly welcomed and taken to our table. Nice, clean and comfy. Salad was great, a good selections of greens, fish, cheese and cold meats. I filled my plate and was worried I wouldn’t have room for meat… don’t worry I did. Meat was lovely all the beefs are better than the others. Cheesecake was average. Lovely service.

For $60 a plate this place was amazing! I actually expected it to be quite a bit higher. The salad bar was decent, not my favorite. I wish they had more traditional salad options instead of the fanciest possible option, but it was pretty good! Now the meat was amazing. I ate quite a few chunks of prime rib, which was my favorite. We also really loved the bacon wrapped chicken and the lamb. I was in a huge fan of the sausage it was a little too peppery for me. I had a glass of wine and we got dessert, my total was right around $100. Honestly, some of the best carrot cake I’ve ever had in my life, my companions had the cheesecake and that was also some of the best cheesecake I’ve ever ever had. It was so so smooth! This is a great spot for a date night or a fun dinner out with friends. I would dress up a little bit when you’re coming here and we’re a good shoes because the floor was kind of slippery. Servers cleaned up plates quickly and they were not skimping on bringing you out me! I had such a great time. It was so fun and the general manager also checked on us during our visit. I would highly recommend having a fun night out here!

Amazing experience! Timothy was awesome! Will definitely go back. The meats were phenomenal! The salad bar was worth the cost on its own. Great job! They even wrote a message to my wife and I on our dessert plate. It's the little touches like that that truly perfect the experience. (We had already split the dessert in half before I took the pics. It was perfectly plated when it hit our table).

Beautiful, romantic, and pleasant place for a date night ❤️ . Come see Brittany a respectful and knowledgeable young lady for service. Try the Flatbread pepperoni appetizer. Shrimp and Grits drizzled with a Creole sauce for your entree. Finished Oreo cookies and cream dessert.

Seasons 52 in Memphis offers a truly delightful dining experience. I particularly enjoyed the Wood-grilled salmon, Lamb Chops. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was stunning. The wine list is extensive and well-curated, offering a wide range of options to complement any meal. The service was impeccable, with our server being attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is stylish and inviting, making it the perfect place for a special occasion or a casual dinner. We enjoyed ourselves so much we went back the next day. If you're looking for a fresh and delicious dining experience in Memphis, I highly recommend Seasons 52.

Visited for the first time, celebrating my birthday and it was amazing! Our waitress Crystal took such good care of us and we ended the evening with champagne and dessert shooters. We will definitely be back

Porch and Parlor truly exceeded our expectations! The steak was nothing short of exceptional—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, it’s definitely a must-try. For cocktails, my husband was particularly impressed with the Vanilla Chia Old Fashioned; it was a delightful twist on a classic. Our waitress, Page, made our evening even more special with her exceptional service. She took the time to explain the menu and ensure everything was perfect. To top it off, she surprised us with a birthday cake and a heartfelt card, which made the night unforgettable. Page's thoughtful and considerate approach made our dining experience at Porch and Parlor absolutely stellar. Highly recommended!

The food and atmosphere was really good. I had the Salmon, which was very light and tender. My friend had the scallops with braised ox tail, which was also good. The Memphian, which is on their drink menu was refreshing and not too sweet. This is a winner and will not be my last visit.

I visited Porch and Parlor for my five year anniversary and it did not disappoint. The service and food were outstanding! The staff was very knowledgeable on the menus items and catered quickly to our every need. I want to say a special thank you to our server James and to the sommelier Rob for the wonderful experience.

Not gonna hold you one of the best sandwiches I've had at a corporate/franchised restaurant. The one on populat I built my sandwich with the base starting out as their club sandwich. I add the carmelized onion red onion yellow bell peppers, pesto sauce, olive oil and extra tomatoes. Chef's kiss with a side Cesar salad (which I also added an egg, onions, extra parmesan and peppers. With a little big rice crispy for dessert!!

I love newk’s eatery. They offer a lot of options to choose from. I love their half and half pairing. Salads are usually good here. Large salads are really large. I usually can’t finish. I used to love their baked Mac n cheese. However, they are not that good in recent times. This one is just another newk’s in the Memphis area. Dinner time was moderately busy. Although I asked for Mac n cheese with bacon, they gave me the plain one! The salad was fresh, filling, and refreshing.

Newk’s is the best! Ordered online and it was ready in 5 minutes. The turkey sandwich and tomato soup was very good! I think my favorite is pimento cheese sandwich and lobster bisque soup.

Great service for our Sunday night dinner. Hubby enjoyed the thick cut of cajun prime rib but I thought the rotisserie chicken could've had more flavor. It was also visibly not thoroughly cooked at the bone. Portions were large.

I haven't been here in 20 years since moving from the area, and the food and service were still spot on. I had the swordfish and it was amazing. The calamari appetizer and the spinach cheese dip were also great. Service was wonderful. Will be back.

Honesty, I think this was the best dinner I’ve had in Memphis. Our server Jonathan was amazing and went above and beyond normal service. We got: She-Crab soup - wonderful flavor, piping hot, and did not hold back on the crab. Bacon app - my goodness, I’ve never eaten something so well done. And the blue berry compote was the star next to the bacon. Mac & cheese - cheesy and delicious Shrimp & grits - shrimp cooked perfectly, slightly salty, but not really in a bad way. The mushrooms & shallots made it sing. Tomahawk Pork chop - such a bizarre combination of flavors that actually really worked! Individually they were just okay, but all together were a perfect bite. Got the Old Fashioned and it was wonderful! And they do a damn good extra dirty martini. Will 100% be back. And requesting for Jonathan!

Great spot in Memphis. We got a host of apps from the crab dip, lamb chops, to shrimp with beer bread, etc. and every entree possible from the filet mignon steak, short ribs, fish, Cajun pasta and all the sides from fries, creamed spinach, broccoli, grits - everything was great and delicious. Pride incognito spot but so worth it!

First let me start that this place is not accessible for people with disabilities… only steps to enter the building. No elevator so beware. This was my first time here and it was a good experience. The place is very well decorated and even with it being late and almost closing time they still gave great service. We sat at the bar and Cameron was great. I told him to make me his best mocktail and he did just that. The crab stuffed shrimp was so good and flavorful definitely recommend as an appetizer. It is only 3 shrimps so beware lol. For the entree I got the braised short rib.. so good and tender! Very tasty and full of flavor. Cant wait to go back and try more.

A delightful and delicious restaurant concept that is as innovative as it is well executed. Flight offers flights of food throughout the whole dining experience, from the wine to the entrees to the desserts, allowing you try a wide variety of their inspired dishes. They have creative and new meals that allow you to enjoy whatever cuisine you are interested in for that evening, or, you can just get a large entree if something really catches your eye. I was very impressed with the selection of meat, with the chef specials including exotic picks such as ostrich, kangaroo, and wild boar. The steaks were all incredible and had a delicious side to pair them with. For the vegetarians, they also had an impressive flight of options that looked delicious. Special thanks to Lauren for being an awesome waiter and giving us amazing recommendations throughout the whole night, made the whole experience seamless. Truly an incredible dining experience and must stop restaurant if you are in Memphis.

Very impressive experience. Food was great. There are things we did not enjoy but that is our taste and pallette. The food was well prepared. The wait staff is very attentive and they take care of you. Beautiful setting and enjoyed all of it. We do not drink and it was our anniversary, so they brought out ginger ale with a strawberry for effect.

A definite "must stop" while in Memphis! And definitely a top tier, 5-Star restaurant. The food was EXQUISITE, DECADENT, and BEAUTIFUL. The dinner was very well prepared and the staff was very professional, courteous, and personable. And a great perk... free valet with your dinner (but please tip the valets). And after dinner, you're only a 5 minute walk from Beale Street!

First visit and can’t wait to return. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server, Josh, was spot on with his recommendations and service. The chef prepared my wife an off menu vegetarian entree which she loved. The ala cart sides were very delicious, well proportioned and many vegetarian options. Great spot to celebrate many occasions, business meal or just a casual meal Very nice selection of wine and champagne.

The food is expensive, but absolutely incredible. A single order can easily feed two people, and it's some of the best steak I've ever had. Definitely a great place for a significant celebration, like an anniversary or a birthday.

I had the Hanger (onglet) steak cooked perfectly, accompanied with faro and a mushroom Madeira sauce, and brocollini. My wife had fish and she really loved it. We had the asparagus table veggies, and my daughter had the prime beef NY Strip, and she loved it. The service was on point, and just the right level of attention. We would not hesitate to go again!
