Shakers Restaurant is a vibrant dining establishment that offers a unique blend of culinary excellence and a welcoming atmosphere. Located in the heart of the community, Shakers…
Great spot for a bite and a drink after a work event. The bang bang shrimp appetizer and corresponding tacos were awesome. The portion was also very generous on the tacos. We also got the spinach dip, which was spicier than expected but good.
I visited this restaurant to celebrate a family member birthday, party of nine. Overall, the visit was not bad. We had to wait a bit due to it being busy. Most ordered tenders or fish meals with water, tea or lemonade. I had the seafood platter with coleslaw, potato and tea. Coleslaw and potato were good but the seafood left a bit to be desired. The salmon and shrimp were overcooked and the crab cake was decent. There was a bit more seasoning than needed on all of the seafood. The grill marks, fish and shrimp, were seared too long making it a bit tough to break the food away with the fork. Salmon was dry from overcooking and the shrimp a little rubbery from being overcooked. The waitress was very nice and the food came out in a good amount of time. This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I may visit again to try another dish to give the place another chance to impress because I sure this is not the best it had to offer.
What started out looking like a great med-rare steak, was actually completely burnt well done steak. I wasn't going to complain, but the staff noticed & immediately brought me a new steak. The second steak was 100% better. The sides were delicious. Shout out to the amazing bartender. Pay her more.

Sooooo good!!! The pizza has so much flavor and a perfect crust. Loved the fries!! The lasagna was delish. Risotto balls- delish! Everything exceeded our expectations.
Isabella’s! Just visiting for a couple weeks but will be moving here soonl! We wanted to go somewhere a little nicer with our friends, and what a treat! The ambience is absolutely beautiful and the place was packed with customer’s! Everything from the cocktails to the crusty Italian bread to the entrees were perfect! Delicious Italian fare! Amazing service and somewhere I’ll definitely go In the future. A true gem. Pictured here are the Chicken & Sausage Orecchiette for $22 and the Blackened Shrimp Pasta for $26.
What a gem! We were in town for the Wolfbane ‘A Christmas Carol’ production, and Isabella’s was recommended by them and a couple of my coworkers. It was a full house with reservations booked throughout the evening, but they were able to get us a reservation at the bar. The service we received there from Josh was top notch, and everything we ate and drank was fantastic. All of the pasta is made in house, and the risotto balls were to die for. We will return and may even make a special trip just to eat at Isabella’s!

What a fantastic dinner treat for my birthday! I was visiting family and was pleasantly surprised to be taken to the newly updated restaurant. It’s absolutely gorgeous inside and designed beautifully. We chose to dine in the bar side and was well-taken care of by the attentive staff from beginning to end. Our meals and wine/cocktails were all perfect and portioned well. We ordered the house filet meals and every part of it was wonderful and perfectly cooked and tender. The salad bar is a nice bonus as well. The cozy and warm feel of the new decor sets the perfect tone for an upscale experience or special occasion. I can’t wait to go back when I visit with family next time.
For our 20th wedding anniversary we had reservations at the Crowns Ember. It did not disappoint. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was incredibly tasty! When I made the reservation it asked if you were celebrating anything special and also gave a place for special requests. I requested a meatball which they brought to us at the end of our meal. It was a surprise for my husband, a romantic reminder of a meal in our honeymoon. The staff were all interested in the meaning and we told them we will be back every year for our anniversary dinner and meatball. I highly suggest this special restaurant to anyone wanting a 5 star experience. It may only be our special occasion restaurant but it’s worthy of being a memorable restaurant experience for anyone! Bravo Chris and staff. Bravo.
We were so excited to celebrate our anniversary here again as we did for so many years. They’ve created a beautiful blend of the Crowns tradition with a modern flare. The Legacy Room entry is a beautiful reminder of the history including photos from the past. Our server, Ashley is new to Lynchburg and was delightful and attentive. This remains our special occasion destination for celebrating!

We came to Lynchburg for a basketball tournament and decided to let the kids stay back and we’d have a date night and WHOA…. If you are hesitating at ALL about this restaurant DON’T. You will not regret it. The chef is just beyond amazing having a culinary background and education that will make your head spin. We ordered a 14oz Sirloin that basically tasted exactly like a Filet and split it. Cooked perfectly, charred just right with crispy flavorful bits of intense flavor. It was so BIG we had leftovers on just one entree! The sides are like family style- since we ordered one entree, we ordered a chopped salad, the Brussels sprouts and mixed wild mushrooms! All amazing. The béarnaise sauce was ON POINT as well. The salad was nothing short of perfection. The wine menu was just about the most robust and incredibly eclectic mix that I’ve seen in a decade. It just got better and better as the night went on. Great ambiance (we were downstairs not in the roof top bar restaurant). I hear that is good too. Different chef and menu. The bread was straight out of the oven and steaming. Butter whipped to utter perfection (no pun intended). We literally had enough left for an entire meal the next day and on top of it all- our waiter and waitress were INTERESTING, friendly, so knowledgeable and educated on the food, how it is prepared and they both gave genuine opinions on what they like and why. I love that. We didn’t want to leave! The manager came over to ask how everything was and we had yet another fabulous interaction. He brought us a slice of cheesecake on the house and let me just tell you- the chef is from Philly originally and had a restaurant in NY for many years and he has never, in all the time he has worked there, let ANYONE change the recipe or alter it in anyway. AND NOW I KNOW WHY. It had density, fluffiness, custard layers that literally melted in our mouths. Everything- literally everything we had, was done to perfection. We are serious foodies (as if you couldn’t tell) and we have dined at some of the finest restaurants in the world, and this place ranks top 3. You must try it. If you are concerned about price, splitting an entree is perfectly acceptable given that the sides are enormous which made the bill more reasonable than we anticipated. This way you can have a really nice variety of sides to try. I had the pear cosmo and it was also balanced perfectly, served chilled with fragments of ice filtered through and you could really taste the pear- it was just delicious. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in our beautiful meal. We had the BEST time and will be back next time we come to Lynchburg! No doubt about it! I wasn’t planning on posting so the picture just doesn’t do the actual presentation justice- this was after I portioned it all out on my plate! lol
This was my first time dining here. The atmosphere and presentation were on point. Our servers, Hannah and Sadie, were helpful as we navigated the menu and made selections. I chose the stuffed salmon, which was a delicious combination of salmon, crab, and an Asian inspired sauce. Throughout our meal, Hannah and Sadie were attentive, friendly, and very professional. At the end of the meal, they thoughtfully boxes up our dessert for my 93-year-old mother who could not join us. I will definitely go back. I highly recommend this place for an excellent dining experience, especially if you are lucky enough to get the team of Hannah and Sadie.
This was by far the best dining experience & meal that we have ever had. This beats the restaurants we ate at in Italy, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Maggiano’s in Las Vegas…from beginning to end the service was top notch! We got the Porterhouse for 2 special. The steak was so flavorful and tender it melted in your mouth. I added the bacon fig sauce on the side, which was great, but the steak was so flavorful it didn’t need anything added to it. They also had a seafood trio special, but I only wanted to try the scallops, so they created a scallops appetizer that had a ginger sauce. They were amazing! For dessert we got the cheesecake and the chocolate coconut cow cake, which both came highly recommended by our terrific server, Stephanie. They were out of this world! And bc it was our 27th anniversary, and we didn’t order any alcoholic beverages, they gave us ginger ale to toast. They really think of everything to make your dining experience off the charts amazing! See for yourself if this isn’t the BEST dining experience you have ever had too :)

We love this place. We try to visit Shoemakes for dinner when we make it to Lynchburg. Their venue changes with the seasons and their executive chef consistently produces a wonderful menu of amazing options. It's a must-do when in Lynchburg. The hotel is an old shoe factory that has been renovated into a luxury hotel. It also is just as amazing as the food.
My husband and I had an incredible dining experience at Shoemakers. From the start, the service was exceptional, thanks to our bartender, Zach. As a gin lover, I started with the Tiger Lily, a refreshing, fruit-forward cocktail that set the tone for the evening. My husband doesn’t drink, so Zach crafted a delicious virgin mojito for him, followed by another fun and fruity mocktail that he thoroughly enjoyed. For appetizers, we ordered the Cornmeal & Panko Fried Oysters, which were cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with crispy pork belly. While waiting for our meals, I enjoyed another delightful cocktail called the Cuke of Sussex, made with gin, cucumber, and chartreuse – so refreshing! For our main courses, my husband had the Chicken Milanaise, which was a perfect blend of savory and sweet, while I ordered the Seared Striped Bass, which was memorable thanks to the mushroom salad and leek fondue. With dinner, I ordered an Aviation, which the bartender executed perfectly and added a beautiful lemon peel garnish. As a notable head nod, we enjoyed some small talk with Priscilla and Jackie. Our experience was truly memorable. Shoemakers provided a remarkable dining experience, and we can’t wait to return. Five stars all the way!
This is definitely a five star restaurant. The atmosphere is quiet and perfect for a special date night. All the food is amazing but the best dish we had there was the Crispy Brussels. On your birthday you are offered a free dessert and we chose the creme Brule which was so creamy and delicious!

A great place to dine at in Lynchburg. Outside seating that is dog friendly, with nice scenery. The burgers are great along with sweet potato fries. Service is great too. 5 Update: We come to Lynchburg every so often, and The Water Dog has become our favorite spot. Great environment, all of our servers have provided excellent service, and best of all the food is delicious! From burgers, to sandwiches, salads, oysters or shrimp; never have we've had a bad meal. Again, 5
What a great place!!!! It can be really busy sometimes bc it's so good! They have local bands often during the summer. $1 oysters on Sunday and a HUGE selection of beers on tap. The service has always been great. The outdoor area is wonderful and suited to families and pets. All in all this is one of my favorite spots. I highly recommend you try the fresh oysters, their burger and the Crabby Daddy. The sweet potato fries are awesome.
Surprised!! I originally was looking for she-crab soup but soon learned they thought I had asked for shrimp crab soup (over the phone). I ended up getting a half salad and roasted pepper and Gouda soup. Very nice. The Bear Dog was very good. My son ordered the chipotle chicken tenders and says the best he’s had in a restaurant. Perfectly juicy and crispy. Definitely a great recommendation. Caesar dressing superb. Bree was amazing!!

Dropped into to this place for lunch, I was extremely impressed with everything. I highly recommend you give it a try. I will be back. The service was top notch. The food was excellent at every point. Just a great place to go and eat, drink and hang out! Go and enjoy! It compares to the best around with a great price point! Loved the gumbo, Tuna was excellent and perfect! The salad excellent and super fresh. The desserts are amazing too!
Initial thought: Open spaces to accommodate big group. I came for my friend's birthday and despite being a big group our server continued to check in with us. Great service! I had the crab cake and when it was first brought to me, the crab cake was burnt. My initial thought was to just eat it, but my friend saw how burnt it was and helped me get some new crab cakes. This would not have been a 5-star rating if my friend did not stop me from eating the burnt crab cake. The new crab cake tasted better with less char. I have heard from others they have great burgers. I would have to come back to try out one of the burgers.
Some friends & I came here for brunch & had a great experience! From the drinks to the food. It was all delicious! The atmosphere was amazing & the staff were very welcoming. We definitely recommend you check it out. They also offer takeout orders as well.

New customers, the atmosphere was nice and smelled great when we got there. Several dishes caught my eye, so I was debating what to order. I finally opted for the Tortellini dish which was with shrimp and steak. It tasted good, but the steak was undercooked, some pieces were bloody and tough, definitely a cheap cut of meat. The shrimp was overcooked and the sauce was spicy, which didn't bother me, but if I didn't like spicy I wouldn't have been able to eat it, they should specify that in the description. My husband ordered Cajun sirloin and was satisfied with his, I tried his steak and it was definitely more tender and was cooked medium rare. We will come back and try again...
A gorgeous restaurant with a ton of potential- I was a little disappointed with our food after seeing such great reviews. The fried tomatoes were decent, egg rolls lacked flavor, the steak was not great, mashed potatoes not flavorful. The best part of the meal was the bbq chicken crunch wrap I enjoyed that a lot.
My family has been eating here for years. Only a couple of times since COVID, though. Tonight's experience was wonderful. Our server, Frankie, is fantastic! Very friendly & knowledgeable person. I had the Ribeye - it was prepared perfectly, my wife had the Chicken Salad Sandwich - she says was good (a real compliment from her). The restaurant is very clean & has a great atmosphere. We will definitely return.

Amazing staff and incredible food! Best we've had in the area by far. Their Octopus and steak is unbeatable. Also ask them for their chicha morada for your drink, it's a wonderful unique taste. Amazing cultural dishes offered by culinary professionals with pride and passion. Alex is a wonderful server! Came outside to greet us and explained the entire menu, top tier service.
I knew the food would be good when they brought out the free appetizer of fried corn kernels with cilantro cream sauce. I could have sipped the sauce from the bowl -- it was that good. Everything was delicious and fresh. I will definitely be back!
Inka Grill was absolutely delicious; the amazing flavors brought me back to my childhood in Lima, Peru full of colorful and flavorful fusion of many cultures, with a variety of dishes and ingredients that provide a sense of warm comfort and overall satisfaction. The service was amazing! My husband and I ordered “papa a la huancaina, aguadito, lomo saltado, ceviche, and alfajor” I would highly advise that those not familiar with Peruvian cuisine, research the various dishes to make sure you know what you are interested in trying. ☺️

Great service and good. Order a large loaded tots which is enough for a group. Also, had the cheeseburger which has plenty of horseradish. Very good beer selection as well.
We have found our go-to burger place. Anytime we get a hankering for a delicious burger this is where we'll be going. All food was great, loaded tots, burgers and desserts.
Husband and I went here on a date night last Sunday and it was great! Huge highlights were the mixed drinks, fried Oreos, and the truffle Parmesan fries! Service was great and everyone was so nice! Bathrooms were very clean! Only issue that I can think of is the bottom of our burger buns did get soggy and fall apart. We will definitely be back!

For what it’s worth…. Decided to go tonight for our anniversary, a place we never been. Food was good, however pretty disappointed in the wait time between ordering our food and receiving our food. This took around 50 min. There were several 4 toppers that got seated about 10 min after we had ordered and they received their food ate, paid and left before we received our food. Again just two of us.
Been here a few times. The atmosphere is historical, clean, and acceptable. The service is excellent, fast, and honorable. But the food… the food is “USUALLY” really good; but my most recent trip here wasnt so great. The chicken was dry, the waffle fried were hard, and overall the food was just ok. Maybe the chef was having a bad day or maybe I showed up too late near closing… But I was slightly disappointed recently because I know how good the food usually is here.
Homey restaurant converted from an old train station, the seared tuna was great and the fried oysters were good even though the batter to oyster ratio was a bit higher than I would have preferred. Overall nice experience, would go back!

We were invited by some friends, so this was our first visit & everything was absolutely great! We ordered the Glazed Butcher's Bacon for appetizer & the salad bar, both were great! We had the fried chicken & a steak for dinner which were both delicious! The pumpkin pie martini was also great! Really enjoyed the live music & the ambience. We will definitely be back!
Tonight, my wife & I went to Fleming Mountain Grill for dinner. We went into the restaurant without reservations. Luckily, someone had just called to cancel theirs. They took us to our booth, the restaurant is beautifully decorated & very clean. Our server, Cassidy B, was very friendly & knowledgeable. I ordered the Ribeye & my wife ordered the 6 oz. Filet Mignon. The chef came out with the meat & cut the Ribeye to my choice of size, pretty neat. They have a great salad bar with lots of choices. After the salad, the meal came with the steaks prepared to perfection. What a delicious meal in a great atmosphere. They even had a wonderful saxophone player, Trev Hicks. After dinner was finished, we each ordered a wine parfait. The owner came by the table to introduce himself & ask how the dinner was. This was our first time there & we were very pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be back, but next time, I'll make reservations. This is a very popular place!
Great Steakhouse in LYH. My first time and brought ten friends due to multiple friends recommending it. They were right! Elegant comfortable atmosphere. The hostess Georgia is just super and our waitress Alice was spot on in everything. Great salad bar comes with your meal plus two sides. The baked sweet potatatoe was delicious with brown sugar and butter. The filet was superb! They will even bring your meat out on a butcher bock table so you can pick your cut. Well worth it...check it out. Great deserts too! DCA in LYH

We came in on a Friday Night with no reservation, they tried to fit us in but we waited until a spot opened up for (2) at the bar. We were bummed to not get a table but the bartenders were both incredible and took great care of us on our anniversary getaway weekend. But let me just say how AH.MAZ.ING every bite of both our meals and dessert were! I got the Hangar Steak and I literally scraped every morsel of food off the plate. My wife got the Grilled Pork Chop, and couldn't stop talking about it either. So we agreed to share a Tiramisu, and a Bourbon Nightcap... Which did not disappoint, and completed the evening. We considered coming back the next night even, so we asked the bartenders about other local eateries, and they mentioned some other options but none could compare to Truss. (Spoiler Alert, we tried another spot, and we're quite disappointed and wished we went back to Truss!). Anyways, this restaurant was definitely a highlight of our anniversary weekend, and we will DEFINITELY be back whenever we visit Lynchburg again.
Overall, great experience! I had the rack of lamb, and it was some of the most tender lamb I’ve ever eaten. My wife had the chicken with vegetables, and she said it was very good and well seasoned. I also would highly recommend the seasoned carrots as a side, as they were VERY good and enough for two people to share. The downside with the food is that the menu is rather small, and I wish there were a few more options. The atmosphere is very modern and classy, perfect for a date night. The service was also top notch. Our waitress, Jess, was very attentive and down to earth. Aside from the location being in a rougher section of town, I would highly recommend over all!
Great experience all around. I also really liked the aesthetic of the restaurant. James was the greatest waiter I've ever encountered this side of the Mississippi.

In town for my daughter's graduation and we had lunch here afterwards. There were so many good choices to choose from! We ordered a burger, Crabby Patty and Jambalaya; all great portions! We also ordered the Cajun Bites for an appetizer and tried the Funnel Cake burger. Everything was delicious!! The servers were attentive and extremely nice. I would definitely dine here again if I'm in the area.
A spot that has been around for awhile. It's good for big groups as it is spacious. In the past they had live shows and special nights like Wine Down Wednesday. Having gone back after a few years the food is okay to pretty good. The portion sizes are good, but the flavor is okay. There is a good selection of beers but the cocktails, for the price, aren't worth it. Overall, if you have a big group the menu has a variety of dishes so it's a good place to go.
Everything was exceptional, from the service to the food to the atmosphere! We are new here and wanted to try something "new," and so glad we did! We loved it and will be back!
