Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Lincoln – 2024

Villa Amore is genuinely an incredible restaurant! We sat at the bar since it was a busier night with Nebraska game happening the next day. We ordered the Bruschetta which was flavorful and delicious! The balsamic is exquisite. I don’t think anything on their menu would disappoint. I ordered the Saltimbocca which was so flavorful! We also tried the Napolitana with shrimp which left us speechless! I highly recommend Villa Amore. Their customer service was good despite the wait time for food and drinks, it was a packed house when we went. I loved their flavors and everyone we spoke to was delighted by their food! A great dinner stop in Lincoln and very afforardable!

This place is a rare find. The food was so full of flavor. This food is made from scratch. The potato chicken cheeses soup was amazing. The challenge is deciding what to order. I tried the Rotini Primavera and it was the best. I have never been a fan of creamy marinara sauce, but Villa Amore has made me a believer. The service was more than you could ever ask for. If you want a good Italian meal, this is it.

My wife and I just discovered this place. It is absolutely a romantic little restaurant. Our server was awesome and the food?! It was absolutely delicious!!! Definitely tasted like authentic Italian food. It also reminded us of an Italian restaurant back home in TX that serves authentic Italian food as well. This place brought back some great memories. ❤️

We had the most romantic anniversary dinner here. The staff and meal was absolutely amazing. I do have to say the beautiful decadent dessert was to die for! From the lights down to the sweet “Happy Anniversary” note, they really pay attention to the little details which makes your experience unique and memorable here. I highly recommend to all family, friends, and any one from out of town who want to have a lovely dinner with a gorgeous chic lite tree in the center of the restaurant. **Side Note Our very Picky toddlers (2&4) also enjoyed the appetizers and their meals.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by attentive and welcoming staff who ensure a comfortable experience throughout your meal. The food is simply fantastic. I started with the Thai chicken lettuce wraps, which were fresh, vibrant, and served with a generous assortment of toppings. For the main course, both the pizza and the blackened pork flat iron gnocchi sardi were exceptional. The flavors were bold and well-balanced, making each bite a delight. And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying the salted caramel cake – it’s the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. The stylish décor of Venue adds to its charm, though it can get a bit noisy during peak times. Despite the upscale setting, the prices are reasonable, making it a great option for a special night out without breaking the bank. I highly recommend Venue for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're out for a date or celebrating with friends, Venue is sure to impress.

We celebrated our 15th anniversary. Food was amazing! Service was excellent. Max our waiter was phenomenal! He was a great part of our special day. Thanks for making our 15 Year anniversary special to us! Dennis and Jessica Lyons!

Restaurant is in a quaint brick building. Quiet enough for conversation. The food was very good. The steak cooked perfectly. My only complaint was they served whipped margarine with the croissant. Should definitely use whipped butter. Pictured Brie appetizer- very delicious. Steak and salmon- perfectly tender medium requested salmon cooked through. Pasta with steak tips. Strawberry cheesecake and the Lithuanian torte to go.

Had a really good experience at this restaurant, and I’m so glad we picked it for our anniversary celebration. Perfect menu choices and the food is so delicious. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

My family recently revisited The Green Gateau after not going for a few years. We had made a reservation in advance, and upon arrival, we were promptly seated. Our waitress, Madi, was friendly and took the time to explain the day’s specials. For an appetizer, we decided to try the Brussels sprouts with candied walnuts. While I was skeptical about the combination, it turned out to be better than I anticipated. My mom had the croque monsieur accompanied by a side of lobster bisque. My dad chose the chef’s breakfast, which came with hash browns, and I had the sweet fruit crepe, also with a side of hash browns. Unfortunately, the hash browns arrived cold, but Madi promptly addressed the issue and brought out a fresh batch that was hot and crispy.

Walked in around 3pm on a Friday to grab a late lunch. Ordered the bistro steak burger with some roasted potatoes and everything was so fresh and delicious! Looking forward to trying more of their menu items in the future.

Very busy place, but worth waiting a bit. We sat on the patio. Waitress was nice, food was excellent! The crab cakes eggs Benedict was a huge serving, and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Delicious smoked gouda and spinach dip with home made chips was also excellent! Would definitely recommend!

We had a great experience. Our waiter was doing double duty and still made us feel like we were his only table. The food was great. Definitely worth the visit.

This is one cool place! Delicious brews and food with excellent service. The chicken fried chicken breast was SO juicy and tender you could cut it with a fork. I wish it was crunchy but who can complain with juicy chicken. They've got a great patio area, perfect for October outdoor dining.

I went on a Thursday around 6:30pm and it was packed. The servers were extremely nice and very quick to get me seated (once I realized the bar was full). I took the waiter's preference on a flight of beers and then ordered the Smoking Gunn burger with a side of fries and creamy garlic dip. Everything was fantastic! Who knew peanut butter went so well with aoli and jalapenos? Well, I guess they did... It was really tasty! Now, I don't usually like beer (not a fan of anything with hops in it really), but the flight that the waiter picked for me was genuinely pretty good (for beer). The best part about everything was the price, it was extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get. I spent $25 + tip and walked out of there not being able to finish my plate... granted there wasn't enough to take home... it was still the perfect portion for me. All in all, I will likely be coming back here when I'm in town again!

Didn't quite live up to the hype. We were seated quickly then had to sit for over 10 minutes before the server acknowledged us. She took our order and the appetizer came out quickly. Then we had to wait over 50 minutes to get our entrees. The server came out and said it would be out soon at the 30 minute mark, 20 some minutes later it finally arrived. My prime rib was cooked to perfection but the baked potato was so cool and mushy it wouldn't even melt the butter. My wife's shrimp was good and the grandson enjoyed his burger. Lazlo's had been recommended highly so maybe it was an off day, will have to try again sometime to see.

I'm going to start by saying L’s Kitchen is probably the best restaurant in town. Chef Lawrence is the real deal. A small but well-thought-out menu that is executed perfectly. The food is outstanding! We were there right at opening at 5:30 don't let the pics of it being not busy deter you. The chef was at our table 2 times, he even cleared our plates! Our server was excellent as well. She knew everything about the menu and answered all questions thoroughly.

During my week-long work trip visiting Lincoln, NE for the first time, I stumbled upon L's Kitchen for lunch and had an amazing experience. Kathleen and Chef Lawrence were extremely kind and welcoming. I ordered the Carbonara Pasta, and it was fantastic – the lunch menu offers great value for both the portions and the quality of the food. I enjoyed my lunch so much that I decided to bring my wife when she joined me for the weekend. We went for a date night on Friday and were thrilled to see Kathleen and Chef Lawrence again. I ordered the Carbonara Pasta once more, and my wife had Chef Lawrence's Chicken, which she absolutely loved! The portion sizes were generous, and the hospitality was outstanding. L's Kitchen is definitely a spot I'll revisit whenever I'm back in Lincoln. Highly recommended! Hook 'em Horns! \m/

Wow what a hidden Gem!! It was so delicious and an absolute steal for the price and quality. I'm still drooling over the idea of having more of that soup...

The food here is top-notch and the flavors are layered and nuanced. We suggest a bite of each component on the dish because the flavors complement each other in a way that lets the bite continue to evolve. Eat slowly and enjoy! It is clearly carefully and well thought out and we were delighted with every taste. We love a focused menu and thought the variety of flavor profiles and protein choices was quite well done. The Italian herbal liqueur centered dessert menu is a treat and we were pleasantly surprised with the French press service for coffee.

Wow! Such a great place. Saw the write ups on this chef and being on Chopped tv so had to try. Never had mussels with pistachio and fried potatoes, it was so yummy. So creative!! And the beet salad equally as impressive and tasty. I’ll be back when in Omaha.

Okay Lincoln NE, you have a great food and drink scene along with a university. Out first night we when to @dishdowntown The small plates we shared had great flavors that was balanced, seasonal and unique. The beets with peaches and cherries were paired with grassy arugula sauce and just a little bit of heat. The potatoes with chorizo and hollandaise were fired within an inch of their life which is PERFECT!! The pickled mustard seeds added just the right amount of vinegar. Favorite of the night was the duck and corn croquettes. They were fried with a soft filling and the smoky plum sauce was a great combination with the sweet corn.

In town early for a weekend game. We were served by MJ who was awesome. Due to our light appetite we rocked some apps. all of which were pretty darn good. we had the Buffalo wings, gator fingers, and fried catfish. All of which were great! If you're in the hay market it's a block away from best of the big red. and it's pretty awesome spot if you're into collectibles.

Great place to hang for tailgating. Have a meal pre or post game day. Plenty of all the other games on during a Saturday or Sunday. Food was awesome. Service was awesome. Cocktails were great. Lots of fun. It is a family environment too. Nostalgic and some fun rare old cans available.

Stopped for lunch while visiting Lincoln for a show. The checkout from the hotel was at 11am, which is exactly when this place opens and it happened to be right across the street. The staff was very friendly and patient with my questions about their hush puppies and fried gator. We sat out on the patio, which quickly filled up on a nice summer day. The food (buffalo burger with fries and gator po’boy with hush puppies) was very good. I’d say maybe a touch heavy on pickles and red onion, but that’s a matter of personal preference and both can easily be removed. Would definitely visit again.

Went here for my birthday and I couldn't recommend it enough. Everything about the evening was special. Our waiter was professional and provided great menu advice. My partner and I both enjoyed our drinks, appetizer, and entrees. It is a very intimate setting, and you'll be in a room with as few as one other table. We shared a room with an older couple that were celebrating their anniversary, and they mentioned how they had their wedding reception here, and had a tradition every year to eat there and mark the occasion. Upon hearing it was my birthday, they bought desert for my partner and myself! It was a very memorable experience overall, and perhaps the start of my very own Billy's dining tradition!

This is a "must visit" restaurant when you are in Lincoln. Excellent food, service and ambiance. We stop every time we are in Lincoln. It is absolutely one of the best restaurants in Lincoln. The chef can create a dish that makes my vegan hubby happy. I am overjoyed that I can have a fantastic meal and so can my plant based husband. Fantastic restaurant that is truly one of my all time favorite places to eat. Get a desert! They come from a Lithuanian baker and they are sooooo delicious. Love the apricot desert, but they all look fabulous. Shout out to Jordan. Excellent server that is engaging and on top of his game. Stop looking for a restaurant in Lincoln. This is where you need to eat!!!

My husband treated me to a fancy Birthday dinner last week at Billy's. People have been telling me to go for ages but it was my first time! We literally ordered half the apps. Baked Brie was great with the apples. Brussel Sprouts were done well but I'm not a huge Balsamic person. Artichoke Dip was super smoky so not for me but I'm sure everyone else would love it! My husband Loved the Broccoli Soup and I enjoyed the Salad and Rolls. He ordered the Rack of Lamb, medium rare, it came out a bit over. He still thought it was great, especially with the mint jelly! Loved the Rosemary and garlic. Yummy mashed potatoes and a side of veg, broccoli is one of his faves. I mentioned wanting a Vegetarian option, apparently it's totally customized! He asked if I wanted potatoes, rice, or pasta for my base. Asked what kind of sauce I'd prefer- cream, red, yellow curry, or a brown sauce I think. Finally if there were any veggies I did not like. It was Amazing! I am such a mashed potato snob (favoring my husband's version). These were the best I've had from a restaurant and it's not even close! Yellow Curry veggies to top, heavy on the coconut milk. Freaking Delicious! I took 2 bites and told my food to Shut Up! Huge portion, I ate on it 4 times. My husband had an Apricot Bavarian Torte for Dessert and I ordered a Lemontine Cooler, citrus and tropical, yummy. Took home the Raspberry Chocolate Torte as well, So Good! Service was great, very personable, very attentive. We had a Fantastic evening!
