The Chalet Restaurant is a charming dining establishment nestled in the heart of a picturesque setting, offering a delightful fusion of culinary excellence and rustic ambiance….
Our group of six arrived right at the Sunday lunch run. The manager met us outside and said how sorry she was that we'd have to wait a while since they were short staffed. It was a nice day so we chatted outside until they had a table for us. Kira was our waitress and was extremely helpful and friendly. We had drinks before us in no time and our orders were given. Despite a tricky order, she got it all correct. I had the Cod Fish & Chips which was great. The BBQ Wings and California Stir Fry also got rave reviews from the group. Times are tough and wait staff is in high demand, but they performed admirably. I like the rugged ambiance of the place. I'm happy to be back again.
Great little place. Food is consistently great. I try something new every time I'm there. They made a cheesecake for a birthday and it was fantastic!
Went for lunch that took an hour to get food and the buns of each fell apart when brought up to our server she asked if we needed a knife. Would not recommend and I wouldn’t come back.

Definitely not really a dine in place. But absolutely my favorite for years
I sincerely think fortune kitchen in kitimat has the best quality and portions designated in kitimat and anywhere across Canada. We have eaten western style Chinese food across bc and Canada as far away as nfld. By far it beats anything we've eaten elsewhere. Their portions are great and the food incredible comparing to what we've experienced across Canada in many provinces. It totally outlets in all aspects, the chop sue kitchen in kitimat and many other places we've eaten in bc and many other provinces in Canada. The owners are awesome and their services top knotch!
This food is legit chinese food, I had special fried rice and the wok-hei was amazing nice and toasty flavor, Honey Garlic Spareribs and they were good bones, also almond Chicken nice batter and crispy... but that chili oil was great and when the chili oil is good you know the food gone be deadly tooo

The Pizza there is absolutely amazing, DJ WerdBird is incredible. Looking forward to many more DJ events there with a proper DJ. Please bring back Angie on a regular basis!
Used to be the absolute best for pizza, the house special was my favorite. I ordered it tonight and it was completely different, different crust, way less actual ingredients and cheese. To top it all off it was undercooked. So after paying $30 I get to go home and cook it again myself, just to still be disappointed. Neat.
They have beer and women serving ... thats almost that is required to make me happy. They have woken dancing on Fridays and Saturday. They hold kareoke. Girls arnt the best looking, but that don't matter when you got the goggles going .

UNDATED, FOOD INSPECTORS SHOULD BE KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR, I WAS SO SICK AFTER EATING YOUR SO CALLED FOOD! This is the second time we ordered from this place. The first time wasn't so bad other than the beef, and broccoli was completely dry. Tonight we tried them again we had chicken chowmein it was very greasy no vegies barely any chicken, chicken fried rice same deal gross, beef and broccoli it was burnt meat tasted rotten and dry, egg rolls were heavy soaked in grease, deep fried prawns the praws were over cooked and the batter was raw and sloppy deep fried. Save your money do not order from them. Someone needs to go to cooking school! Currently I am waiting a half hour to see if I start puking at both ends.
I recently had the chance to try the house special fried rice. I took it home and was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted. The fried rice was flavourful, with a great mix of ingredients. I recommend it to anyone looking for tasty Chinese food.
The place is oldish but owners are awesome! Some times the food is extraordinary however in seldom occasions the mood is not there the quality regular. Despite the food inconsistency, we are loyal to this place due to the hard worker owners cooking and always welcoming us good time bad time. Many great dishes are not listed in here.

I heard there was a Indian restaurant in Kitimat, and I figured I'd check it out. I had thought it was a sit down place with take out, however it's just a take out restaurant, which is fine. I ordered a Mango Lassi, butter chicken wrap and a samosa. I got in about 50 minutes before close so selection wasn't great looking, I had wanted to try a chicken samosa but they were out so I went with the veggie samosa, which they had just made fresh. The butter chicken wrap was also made to order as it took about 15 minutes to get. I just ate outside my truck not wanting spill any food inside. Thr mango Lassi was nice, I'm not Lassi fan and that's personal preference. As for the wrap the only thing I'd say is, I wish there was more chicken, it felt mostly rice. I could see myself going back here for take out in the future.
I recently tried the food from Trishan Foods in Kitimat, a Sri Lankan restaurant (not Indian, as some might assume). The chicken curry was decent, but the butter chicken didn’t quite meet expectations. The biryani felt more like a simple mix of chicken curry and rice, which may be typical of Sri Lankan cuisine but wasn’t what I was expecting. I was surprised to learn that the food is brought in from Terrace as they dont cook here
Pros- the women working behind the counter was very nice and helpful. She really went the extra mile and made me feel welcome. Portion size was also a plus. The size was sufficent to fill the most hungry patron. Cons- The lack of tables and chairs felt odd considering the cost(42 dollars for a entree and a tea) a dine in option would be a nice gesture. The temprature must have been over 25c in the building. It was very uncomfortable with the heat and humidity. In the middle of the serving count was a moterized I.P security camera that was cleary being operated by someone not in the room. I noticed it following me amd my companion and it would move to take focus of anyone who entered the building. I understand the need to have security these days but it made me uncomfortable having someone stair at me through a camera while buying food. Lastly and the most concerning. In the display the lighting was a mix of heat bulbs and led. The purpuse of the heat bulbs is to keep the food out of the temprature danger zone. Led bulbs dont emit heat or at least enough to stop germ production. I enjoyed the food and the service but will not be returning.

Absolutely love this place!!! The food is incredible, fresh, hot, flavorful and super delicious!! Never had a bad meal here!! The Healthy Addiction(add prawns) is a must try!! The service is excellent and the owner of this place is a beauty!! There is a reason this place is always busy.... because it's that amazing!!! Great job to the workers here, I look forward to coming back again and again ❤️
Had a great lunch there, The Addiction Salad. Friendly staff!
One of the best restaurant in this boom town. We ordered the 3 piece halibut fish and chips $30, gourmet salad $15, sticky toffee cake $7 and coffee $3. The halibut and fries was good. The halibut was not too dry or moist. The fries was crispy and coffee not bad. Salad was fresh and toppings was plentiful. Sticky toffee cake I don't see it being offered often. It was amazing and a must try for dessert.

Our family loves Sushi J! Always fresh and packed with flavour. Our 2 year old son isn’t crazy about most foods, but he will eat an entire cucumber roll no problem. Thanks Sushi J!

Very nice lady answered the phone, and the alterations due to my allergies, were not a problem. The estimated time it took, before the delivery was made, was accurate too! The gluten-free pizza was very tasty, I took the Veggie, and will stay on my wishlist for a next time.
EDIT : AS OF 2024 THEY ARE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT SO THIS IS NO LONGER ACCURATE - WILL UPDATE WHEN I TRY AGAIN! :) Rarely answer the phone. Have successfully ordered twice out of the five times I've called during business hours. Pizza is fine I guess. Lasagna is mediocre and the ribs took over an hour, were completely dried out and freezer burnt in places.
JAXTRAX DECIDED... The gorgeous woman that gave us the meatlovers, feta, loaded with bacon was absolutely an amazing server.

Absolute terrible place to eat. We found a cooked cockroach in our pizza. When I brought it to the attention of the owner, he was very rude, so we just got up and left. I Do Not recommend this nasty place at all!
Best place I have ever eaten, awesome staff, pork balls are really good with sauce too

Was extremely disappointed in the size of our dq treat bought 2 mudslides definitely way smaller than normal and were $17 for the two ...sad when a business responds and its A.I. response not even the owners
ordered 6 piece chicken strips + bbq sauce dip but they ending up dipping all 6 chicken strips with bbq sauce - staff needs to learn and clarify what customer prefers - big language barrier
Dairy Queen, Kitimat BC 1st time here. (Am working in the area). Thankfully they have burgers, fries, onion rings etc etc, and their usual ice cream fare. Nice people, good service. Lots of parking.

The course is beautiful. The restaurant food could be better, but the service is touch and go. Some servers are GREAT! Others we had to go inside and ask 3 times for drinks and a menu.
Great service and my fish and chips were nice and crunchy on the outside and very flaky and moist on the inside. Was very good. I also enjoyed the fries!
Burger I had was pretty tasty, but it was kinda skimpy on the fixings. Kids meals were kind skimpy too only 2 chicken strips they were still hungry. The biggest let down was the service, we were seated in the far corner behind a cabinet by the front door and were forgotten about a few times, it was also very cold by the window. I waited for my bill and it never came, so l packed up my family of 6 and made my way to the bar to pay my bill. Not sure if I'll go back, its been touch and go over the years depending on who manages the restaurant. A few years back the service was top notch atmosphere was even better with table decor candles ect.., I think it was being managed by a couple from Vancouver Island if I remember correctly back then.

Came at an off time. Staff were friendly and approachable. Restaurant was empty. Service was quick and meals were ready quickly. Sashimi was not really up to standard but everything else was good. Done deal was good.
We dined twice at this place and by far, we have had the best experience in Kitimat. They have amazing cocktails, sushi, ramen bowls. Dynamite is a must try. Would like to specially mention Pratham. He is very polite, gets exactly what you want and the service is quick as well. Would like to come here again.
Always an amazing experience to dine here. Peachy king is the answer to such a weather. Veggie love and Jollyfried chicken are delicious.

Best baked salmon I've EVER eaten at a restaurant, period! Great atmosphere and the service was amazing. Great waitress, very friendly and attentive! This is a place I definitely would go to for a casual dinner and drinks.
Natalia took amazing care of us. The food was good and fast. If she wasn't taking care of us I don't think our night would have been as memorable.
*Food* MAINS Fresh tomato Bruchetta (8.5/10): perfect for a starter, light and rich in flavour! Lodge Chips (9/10): Their best chips so far, the sauce is deadly! Crispy Panko Shrimps (7.5/10): super good, yet a bit oily. Crackling Sirloin bites (7.5/10): fairly good portion for sirloin meat appetizer, its a bit oily too but so good. Bacon Mushroom Burger (7/10): I doubled the patty for that one. It's a big plate, I recommend having it without any appetizers. I was a bit disappointed with the meat to be honest, it was not cooked well at all. You can't taste the sauce too, i had to dip it with the lodge chips sauce. However, i did like it overall, but it's not a plate I'd order twice. Grilled Chicken Quesadillas (8/10): Super good! The bread is crunchy and it has a perfect mix of cheese, chicken, and peppers. The salsa sauce is my personal favorite, i always double the cups when i order. Tenders and fries (8.5/10): as cliche as this order is, the ones at Mikes is one of the best I've ever tasted. The seasoning they add to the tenders is a game changer. That's a must! Peppercorn Sterloin Pasta (9/10): Creamy, Rich, and full of flavor. That's one of my personal favorite plates, no one can go wrong with this one. Garlic Parmesan Fries (8/10): Never go wrong with fries, Super good. But lodge chips is still better. Seafeast Fettuccine (7.5/10): One of the plates I would definitely try for once, but wouldn't order it twice. It tastes good, but i didn't like the fact that the taste of the alfredo sauce is so dominant that you wouldn't enjoy the prawns and scallops added. The herb aioli makes it really good, I ordered extra aioli when I tried it. DESSERTS Warm sticky toffee pudding (7/10): it tastes alright, nothing special. Good for someone who has a sweet tooth. Rocky mountain Madness (6.5/10): it's somehow a dry dessert, i didn't like it much, it was too sweet. Uber brownie (8.5/10): The best option they have so far, i always order it after my main plate. The ice cream quality can be drastically improved, but the pecan coating makes it good. *Service* The staff is super friendly and the food is never late. Make sure you reserve a spot before heading there, the place is always full, which is awesome! *Atmosphere* You can have fun and enjoy playing different board games as you wait for your food. People are always wearing a smile around you, good vibes everywhere!
