We love this place and found out about it from Jamie, the shuttle driver from Maui Coast Hotel. I ordered the Breakfast Salad twice. Delicious both times! The veggies are very fresh and crunchy, the dressing was slightly tart, and the fried quinoa adds a pleasant toastiness. My husband ordered the Classic Loco Moco and the Big Kahuna Omelet. He enjoyed them both and was craving the omelet on our flight back home lol. I tasted a little of his Loco Moco gravy on rice, and it was a well done tasty mushroom gravy. Mm! (no photo of loco moco..sorry) The people there are so friendly. The line wasn't that long and moves quickly, and someone comes by to hand out infused water for all the people waiting. So sweet!
The indoor/outdoor vibe of Nalu's is great for before/during/after a day at the beach. We were greeted with fantastic aloha spirit by the lady taking our order. I will return here. It was fun and good value, but there will be a couple of suggestions for improvement. Parking is easy here. Others have complained about waiting a few minutes in line (to order.) I see it as the staff working efficiently. Everything on our order was correct and delivered promptly to our table. My beet and goat cheese salad was tasty, with a generous amount of macadamia nuts. The nuts made it a local version. Upon placing my order, the very helpful worker suggested a quinoa and tofu patty. The patty was soft and bland, so I wouldn't get it again. My partner ordered the crab cakes with salad. He said the crab cakes weren't as good as Maryland crab cakes (but: why are you ordering that in Maui to begin with?) Both our salads had a few rotten leaves. We picked them out, and everything else was okay. There are several hens roaming the patio dining area. Somebody was feeding them.
Nalu’s never disappoints. Had lunch here last week (amazing poke bowl) and mentioned to the manager that I miss Ekolu Kitchen’s amazing pumpkin ravioli with scallops and prawns. Any chance that they could bring it back as a special? Well, my friends and I were met with the treat of having it tonight after the chef agreed to putting it on the Monday night special. It was better than I remembered. We all loved it, and agreed that was the best meal of the week. Thanks, Chef Gino, for a fabulous experience tonight!

We came here for a dinner with a group of 8 and we had reservations. Despite arriving early, the staff was incredibly accommodating. We enjoyed fantastic drinks and sampled a variety of delicious, fresh, farm-to-table dishes. I Highly recommend the fish tacos!
I had a fantastic dining experience at Monkeypod Kitchen on Maui. The food was exceptional, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors that truly capture the essence of the island. I highly recommend trying their wood-fired pizzas and the famous Monkeypod Mai Tai—it’s a must-have! The lively atmosphere and attentive service made the experience even better. The restaurant has a beautiful, relaxed vibe with live music that enhances the Hawaiian experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a great meal on the island!
This was the most recommended place by locals, tourist, and workers of the area. We went to Monkeypod for happy hour which had a large variety of options to choose from. Matt took care of us and made excellent suggestions. Everything was delicious but the real star of the meal was the strawberry cream pie. It was a perfectly balanced, light and decedent, best way to end the meal. I would come back just for this pie.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary & mentioned it multiple times to the front of house greeter to multiple server. Only 1 server i remembered his name was Roland, he provided excellent customer service and very attentive to our needs. They offer kama'aina on entire bill. Not going to let it ruin our night after seeing two tables getting cake with candle light & we paid for our desserts. At end of night our female server said, I over heard were celebrating an anniversary when I said happy wedding anniversary multiple times and our multiple servers wished us happy anniversary. She explained that we give free cookies for anniversaries & i can box it up for you, I kindly declined it because the desserts we got was already sweer for me. Plenty powdered sugar. She apologize & said open tables been messing up for us but it's ok, we paid for our two desserts and didnt book on opentables, I just wanted the open space on the plate to be handwritten "Hau'oli lā Ho'omana'o" or happy wedding anniversary. Overall, service is to be expected but communication from calling in reservations a week in advance for making the dinner reservations to calling in again the day of and confirming we are coming to celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary. It just didn't give me the wow factor. But thank you for dinner.
I don’t say this lightly, but this restaurant serves some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life. The crispy shrimp appetizer is one of the big things they are known for and it is definitely worth getting. It’s an island take on the Chinese honey walnut shrimp dish, but with a lighter, yet still crunchy, batter they use and with macadamia nuts rather than the traditional walnuts. The octopus appetizer was unforgettable, and I will get this every single time I am here. It is the the perfect balance between flavor, texture, and decadence. I wanted to lick the bowl afterwards. For the entrees, my wife got the Seafood Lau Lau which was excellent. It was a good amount of seafood medley poached in a coconut sauce. The pico and purple mashed potatoes it came with paired well with it. The star of the night was the fish and lobster special I had. Individually each of the components could have been an all star meal. Combined, they were a Michelin level dish. A perfected seasoned and grilled fish on a bed of bok choy with the perfectly cooked mushroom risotto and pieces of lobster. I will be dreaming of this dish for days to come. Our server, Misty, made all of the recommendations for us. She is amazing and you will have a great experience if she if your server as well. We look foreword at being back again soon.
Loved our anniversary dinner at Ko. I agonized over where to go because I struggle with feeling like fine dining is really worth the price tag. At one point I had reservations at 4 different restaurants! But I'm glad we settled on Ko. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and accommodating. They even gave us a card for our anniversary! We each got a different fish preparation and both were awesome and tasted fresh. And don't forget to order the banana bread dessert. It was SO YUMMY!!
Gather on Maui for Food + Drink is a vibrant culinary destination that celebrates the rich flavors and diverse ingredients of the Hawaiian Islands. Nestled in the heart of Maui,…
We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Gather while visiting our daughter and granddaughter on Maui. The food was excellent, tasty and plentiful! We started with the burrata which was amazing. It was a potential meal in itself. This was followed by the Fresh Catch and Pancit Noodles and the Mushroom Catch. Both were mouthwateringly delicious. My wife and I could have easily split one of these entrees. The restaurant had a nice wine list and a wonderful selection of craft cocktails. On another note, we were pleasantly surprised by the staff’s handling of my wife’s pepper allergy. Keeping in mind that this information is included in all of our Open Table reservations, the waitress seemed a bit flustered. On the other hand, the kitchen did a great job of offering suggestions. We will definitely return. Our reservation was at 7. Consequently, we were not able to enjoy the view. Consider that when booking a reservation.
Hard to see the views as we ate after sunset. This place will be recommended by me to friends for sure! Excellent service by Vinnie. Food was truly delicious. I was the only person who ate the short ribs. I loved it! The rest of our party ate fish. All perfect entrees.
What a beautiful hidden treasure on Maui. We celebrated an anniversary with family and friends and they made the group dining experience amazing from beginning to end! Our waiter was so kind and over the top accommodating. I had the mojo roasted chicken and it was incredible! The Grounds were breathtaking and the sunset view was the cherry on top. Thank you Gather for making us feel like we were the only VIP guests in the restaurant.
DUO Steak & Seafood is a premier dining establishment that specializes in delivering an exceptional culinary experience centered around high-quality steak and fresh seafood…
My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here and had a good time. Our waiter was amazing and I unfortunately can't remember his name. The food was amazing and although we would've liked to have had a better view of the ocean, the atmosphere was nice. Plan on at least $100 per and they do have complimentary valet service
Wonderful dinner in an amazing setting. My wife and I came here for our anniversary dinner and it was delightful. Respectful and social server with confident recommendations and had an excellent sense of when to stop by, when we needed refills, and when we were good to be left alone for awhile. Steak was cooked well based on the request and the whole Kona lobster was a nice mix of traditional surf and turf with some mixins for it’s own unique serving style. The fries were a nice side and the grilled asparagus went really well with the steaks. To finish it off the coffee ice cream was a nice lighter touch and the thoughtful complimentary cupcake was a flavorful addition to the scoop. Expensive but worth it for a higher-tiered dining experience. The diners were quite a diverse population, ranging from full families with small children to older couples. Smart casual is definitely the way to go but I did see some more casual attire as well.
A totally outstanding and unique experience. Nestled under the Four Seasons resort this gem delivers the top notch food and service you would expect for this high end style steak and seafood restaurant. If this is in your budget don't shy away but be warned our normal dinner for 4 cost a bit over $750 before tip. Will likely be back if I find myself in Maui again!
