Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Hinton – 2024

My wife and I were in Hinton on a camping trip and I wanted to try this place as I love local coffee shops. We walked in and were greeted by the two gentleman working that day. The barista was very helpful in making suggestions and I settled on a caramel macchiato and a date slice. I must mention that he was kind enough to tell me that a traditional macchiato was more of an espresso shot so that I wouldn't possibly be disappointed. We sat for awhile and enjoyed the coffee and the date slice that was made fresh was also delicious. I also noticed that they make breakfast and lunch items and cater to gluten free and other dietary needs. So if you're in Hinton and want to try some good local coffee with good conversation and a very friendly atmosphere please try The Old Grind. Looking forward to our next visit. ☕️

We made a stop here before checking into our hotel! It was a great find, family operated and a really cute place! The staff were very helpful in helping us picking our sandwiches! It was made to order and very fresh!

Visiting Canada from the States, this was my first time eating at a Smitty’s restaurant. When we got there, Cesca welcomed us with a smile on her face and got us seated right away. Di, who took our orders & served our food was so accommodating, pleasant & nice. The food was amazing, ambience was great and service was A+++++. Thank you! Will definitely come back here next time!

The food was delicious and meal proportions were good as well. We had the cinnamon pancakes (delicious), the buttermilk pancakes (good), the mediterranean salad (delicious/ refreshing) and the southwest Benedict (ohkay-ish). Our server Cesca was delight as well. The restaurant has a lot of seating space. Would definitely recommend it for the breakfast or stopover for tourists.

Good food. Good service. Had no waiting for a table, on a Saturday at 9am.

We were looking for a nice and cozy restaurant and we found Ruby Restaurant to be just that, and also very friendly service

Lounge was clean, nice, and bright. Service was excellent. My server, Lara, was friendly and very attentive to my order. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous.

If you are looking for delicious Chinese food in Hinton, look no further. The outside of the building looks a little run down compared to the inside, (the inside is quite nice) so don't let first impressions fool you. The food was some of the best Chinese food I've had in Alberta in 14 years. Huge portions on the combination plates for the price and super nice and attentive staff. This place is between two hotels, so we heard it can get busy and sometimes there are buses that call ahead for orders, so if it's busy just be patient. The food is more than worth it.

I had pad Thai -awesome . My wife had Vietnamese beef pho -she loved it . Very very clean restaurant . Nice environment . Being out of towners we looked at 8 restaurants before settling on this one . We made the right choice ! Waitress maybe owner was so nice as well .

Amazing food.Great service.Very clean.Im from Saskatchewan passing thru and I have never had such good Asian food.Everything was beyond tasty.Chicken balls more chicken then batter which is rare. I’m sad I won’t be here long.Ill probably go back today before I leave!

Absolutely fantastic and delicious authentic Mexican food in canada.food is tasty and the price is good. Their homemade sauces are incredible and tasty.very fast service and dedicated staff and have a enough parking space too. I would like to highly recommend this place.

We ordered tostadas, enchiladas, and nachos. Everything was really good. I loved their hot sauce with 4 chilies on it. It's not really spicy, but the taste is something you will not find anywhere else.

I had authentic taste of maxican food here, the variety and taste is tremendous. They offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options as well with authenticity. Staff service are at top notch and very polite. Dine in atmosphere is very hygienic, soothing with delicious food and melody of music. One can feel refresh and fulfil. Not to forget about the hot sauces which is there own specialty adding flavours to food. They are freshly made in their kitchen. Thank you so much Rojo marron for giving me such a delicious taste. I would definitely taste it again and recommend to my friends and family.

Ricky's atmosphere is enjoyable and clean, the service was decent and the staff were friendly. The food is a story of two tails. We had 2 kids grilled cheese meals both came with fries and ice cream for dessert. The grilled cheese sadly was barely grilled as the butter or margarine was melted but not even caramelized, combine that with a cheese slice and you get a pretty poor grilled cheese. The chicken Tenders from the "mains" section of the menu were very tender and beautifully cooked but coating was bland. I added a touch of salt and it made all the difference, the Sriracha ranch dip was very bland with heat. The fish & shrimp platter was good fish was crisp except the portion of the bottom piece of fish where the two pieces overlapped which is merely coincidence and not a result of preparation. The turkey dinner was good, the mashed potatoes stood out as a highlight they were both smooth and seasoned perfectly. All in all not a bad meal even considering the kids meal issues. The staff did rectify the kids meal issues on the bill.

Had two meals with chicken in them. Both were FABULOUS! The Southern Style Chicken Tenders and the Califresco Salad were so delicious. Everything was fresh, prepared perfectly. The portions are good size, the prices are very fair, the restaurant very clean and the staff is superb! Don’t miss this hidden gem, adjoins the Best Western Hotel, on the edge of Jasper Park. This place will definitely be added to “My Favorites” list.

We stopped here on my way back to Edmonton from Jasper. It was the perfect place to eat as it offered breakfast, lunch, and cocktails. I had ordered the chicken and waffles with a Ceasar, and my guy ordered a California salad and a Ceaser as well. We were not disappointed. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly for me. His salad had nice crispy, fresh lettuce.

I Love this place. What a Great Sports Bar Atmosphere. We walked in with 14 people and the staff was immediately able to accommodate us. I love that they have large Tankard Sized Beers (Of 3 different steakhouses /Pubs in Hinton Ranchers was the only one with these superior sized Beers!) I'm a huge fan of Fish and Chips And I was Very Pleased with my order. To the point I almost should have requested a 2nd Fish. Several of our Party had the Ranchers Burger (the huge monster burger in the photos) and they were taken aback by it's size and they had nothing but positive things to say about it. We loved Ranchers so much we visited twice in 3 days during our week in Hinton. Thank you Staff for a Great Service, Great Food and an overall great dining experience.

The jalapeno poppers were great. The rest of the meal was not. I had a steak and asked that it be cooked rare. It came well done. The vegetables were good. The service was a bit slow but acceptable. I waited for longer than I would have liked to get the bill. I had to go stand at the front to get the attention of the server.

Amazing food. Had the phily cheese steak poutine, bacon cheese burger and an order of hot wings and was very satisfied with it all! Juicy wings, tender steak, huge portions. Will be coming back

The location is very convenient, as we’re staying at the nearby hotel. We tried a few dishes, frankly they just were decent not much more, I expected more in terms of flavor given the price. The dessert was a bit disappointing. Overall, I'm not too keen on returning.

The service was five star and above. Our server was just lovely and anticipated all our needs. The atmosphere was cute and eclectic! The food was ok, not sure if the feta was old or had started going bad but it made the salad inedible unfortunately. Chicken kebab was very well done.

Food is authentic Filipino and was good. They renovated the place and turned out good. Service is excellent!

A very warm environment with lovely and welcoming staff! I highly recommend this place to everyone and please try their special Gus I always prefer mine to get it without pineapple. We found this place when our car got broken on our way to Jasper and we had to go back to Edmonton. We always remember this place as the only good thing happened that day to us

On our road trip to BC, we made a stop at this pizza spot in Hinton, and honestly, we couldn’t stop raving about it for at least 5-10 minutes. The taste? Absolutely incredible. Every bite was a perfect blend of flavors that we kept talking about long after we finished. But what made the experience even better was the warmth and hospitality we received. Gus, who runs the place, was so generous and welcoming. He and his team made us feel right at home. Huge shoutout to the servers and the folks in the back working hard to make such an amazing pizza. It’s the kind of place you just have to try if you’re passing through. God bless Gus and the entire team for making our stop unforgettable!

Service was good , I think this could be an good restaurant with a little effort we had ceaser salad which came with cold garlic toast , fake bacon bits , small pizza which was undercooked or not hot enough all I can taste was raw onion, lasagna tasted like curry and meatballs were frozen not fresh ,

Staying in Hinton, saw the reviews and had to check this place out! I had the butter chicken (was a little hesitant to try) and it was actually really impressive with a rich and flavourful sauce. The wife had a BLT (as you’d expect it to be) with sweet potato fries that were super crispy and well seasoned. Strawberry cheesecake was delicious! Service was good overall but we went on a busy Saturday night so a bit slow; I’d say they did the best they could. Overall would recommend checking it out, especially at their reasonable prices!

We’re so glad that we chose this place over a chain restaurant in the area! The steaks were perfectly seasoned and grilled, we had to have it twice! Cornbread is to die for! Pulled pork is probably the best I’ve had. Service was amazing, Shella was very attentive and helpful with our food and great conversationalist. I can wait to try their steak seasoning that they sell in store!

We saw the steak sign whilst driving by and decided to swing in…. *Add the most glowing review ever here* everything was top notch. Tenderloin I had almost brought a tear to my eye. Kettle chips = unreal. Nachos = unreal. Soup of the day (creamy tomato) was delicious. Waitress was fantastic. Highly recommend and would come back. Seems its the hotspot of Hinton because we showed up Saturday night and the place was juiced with a lineup to get in. We waited a couple minutes and they squeezed us in and delivered a 10/10 homerun meal. Great job! Also: the Mrs. loves coke (the drink) and said the fountain pop is really good. Extra carbonation!
