Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Hattiesburg – 2024

April 2024-This was a stop on my birthday Bar Crawl. The Raspberry Lemonade was delicious, and our bartender Laighia was awesome. We ordered the boneless wings and loaded waffle fries to munch on. It was early so not crowded, which we enjoyed. The menu looked good with cajun inspired options, I plan to go back for dinner one day to try.

Stopped by passing thru town. Got the alligator bites, portions were a little skimpy but quality was still great. Ended up having some problems with my bill, the bartender Abby was extremely understanding and approachable regarding the matter. Despite minor discrepancies the overall experience was great.

Worst excuse for a Margherita pizza I’ve ever seen or tasted. Should take this item off the menu or completely change the recipe and improve it. Waitress asked if everything was good. In short, I told her no. I don’t like when waitresses and waiters don’t take the satisfaction of their customers seriously. I may never go back to Tabella bc of that and the food is only ever so-so anyway but this took the cake. Another friend at the table tasted it and compared it to chef Boyardee. It looked like a jar of fake tomato sauce with mushy tomato chunks poured over a paper thin wet pasty dough. The mozzarella was a shame too. Was like hard play dough. Newk’s hits the mark better on a Margherita pizza just a tip. I hate to post negative things but this was a big problem for me.

I give it five stars because I can't give it six. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The veal piccata was absolutely wonderful as was the Caesar salad. I found out that the Caesar dressing and the marinara is all made in house and you can definitely tell the difference. You really know that it's fresh. If you are in the mood for Italian food, then this is the restaurant for you. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I like the way it felt just walking in. Pleasant staff, clean bright and relaxing. Very European atmosphere. One of the other waiters on the way by stopped and cleared our detritus from the table. Score. The free bread was a great start, fantastic flavor - we had to get an additional serving. So light and tender. Dinner was 6 cheese ravioli with pesto cream sauce. Great texture and taste. Pesto sauce could have used a bit more basil for me it was also excellent. Side salad was simple dressing over mixed greens , tomato, shaved parm. Nothing too overstated. Will shall return.

Stopped by for a nice lunch. The southwest egg rolls and cheese curds are delicious. I had the beef tips and asked for them to be cooked medium rare…delicious! My wife had blackened Mahi, very good. Our server Bella was very kind and attentive. Highly recommended!

The food , service and atmosphere were 10 out of 10 and we will be back!! Make sure you ask for Zach to be your server! He is fantastic!!

I enjoyed the Spicy Chicken and Andouille Pasta with a side of Onion Rings. The food was perfectly seasoned. Our service was absolutely amazing from the time we walked in until the time we left. I encourage everyone to visit!

A great place to get drinks and small bites. The place is quite large with a cozy room, main room, and out door seating. I enjoyed using their touch less ordering system. I ordered the Korean pork belly bowl which was delicious. The pork belly was juicy and flavorful. They have a fun selection of drinks to pick from. I would come back.

I got the opportunity to try this establishment last night. It was very cute and quaint. I feel it is a great spot to just go grab food and drinks or just have a quick little night out. It seems as if it would also be a very nice spot to have a company party. It’s very nice and spacious. It is plain from the outside, but could be considered more upscale on the inside. Definitely a hidden gem. I would totally recommend!

The sours/fruity beers are some of the best I’ve had in the States. All other beers were also amazing. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Patio is cute af, nice and shaded, dog friendly outdoor patio. Rad art inside. Great taproom. To go options and clothings. Hidden gem that meets the prohibition feel.

We have been to Hattiesburg twice as a stop to and from Florida. And now twice we have gone to Patio 44. Great place! Everything we have ordered food and drink are superb. Keeley was our waitress and we could not have asked for better service! I am not an Old Fashion fan… I try them all because my husband loves them. I do like this one!

Really cool place with a lot of great food options. I had the jambalaya pasta which was really good, albeit a little spicy. If you’re sensitive to spiciness, I would try something else. Wife had the brown butter soft crab which was good. It’s battered and deep fried so make sure you’re ok with that if you order it. Granddaughter had the chicken Alfredo which she devoured, so I guess that was good. And we had the white chocolate bread pudding, also very good. Would definitely come back!

It was Jim’s birthday today and we went to a new place for us so he could get some good seafood… I’m allergic to shellfish… he loved his lunch! This place is very attractive, great outdoor patio, way too hot for that today but the inside is very tasteful and very nice! I ordered a grilled pimento cheese sandwich on sourdough bread. When it came I knew I was in trouble!! It was white… pimento cheese should be orange with red specks of red… pimento! I took my fork and tasted it… I have never tasted anything like it! Not in a good way! Let me say the fries were delicious… this gloppy mess was inedible!!! No cheddar cheese, no mayonnaise, very little pimento! Just unseasoned cream cheese! The waitress Aubrey was fantastic!! The manager was gracious and wonderful as well! Enjoyable lunch except for a horrible sandwich! They didn’t charge me for it and we will go back… be warned… stay away from the pimento cheese!!

The decorations are cool. It has its own unique vibe. There's a ton of all you can eat soul food. The place is big, so it handles a huge crowd well. I really enjoyed the food and experience.

Large dining area, excellent service, unique decor and ambiance, and delicious food. Five of us ate lunch here and our total was $64 before tip, which is a bit pricey, but we didn’t leave hungry. They even have a dessert bar with brownies, banana pudding, apple cobbler, blueberry cobbler, and blue bell ice cream. Couple that with their awesome fried okra, and you have a winner.

Having recently moved away from Hattiesburg, we decided to visit Mario’s the last time we were in town. As usual, Mario’s didn’t disappoint! Food is great and you cannot beat the value. If you are looking for good Italian food, you will definitely want to pay them a visit.

The stuffed mushroom dip was awesome. Fried ravioli was also good with the wonderful marinara sauce. Two of us ordered the lasagna and it was very good with the bread they serve. One ordered the chicken parmesan and said it was okay. Service was very good, overall would recommend.

I ordered a meal for pick-up, to go. I waited quite a while to receive it once I arrived, probably 10-12 minutes. I don't doubt it was ready for pick-up once I arrived, as I gave about 40 min from the time I ordered over the phone, to walk into the restaurant. There were 3 hostesses at the tiny desk once I entered, none of them appearing to be busy. They simply directed me by pointed to the adjoining bar/room beside the hostess desk. The bartender was taking a couple of different call-in orders over the phone as I stood there waiting. Those 3 young girls also stood there waiting, seemingly uninterested in checking on/grabbing my order for me as the bartender was busy working/taking phone orders. I only saw one other gentleman dining in throughout the entire restaurant. The food was ok. I don't think what I ordered was worth $30, which was just chicken breast, 4 shrimp, some sauce w/ mushrooms & spinach over angel hair pasta. That price part for what it actually was is a little disappointing. I would possibly give this place another try in the future. I would also entertain trying a different Italian restaurant altogether.

We were visiting from Louisiana and had our pup with us, so we needed a pet friendly restaurant. This place was awesome! The Creole Club was delicious, in the top 3 sandwiches I've ever had. Love the big screen for watching football, and Amy was a blast behind the bar! Will definitely be back!

I am hosting a gathering today with about 30 people. Indoors, there are small tables that can seat around four people each, with the largest table seating up to eight. For larger groups, I suggest sitting outside, where there is a bar and plenty of tables. There’s also a big screen to watch sports, making it very chill during the summer evenings. For food, I ordered the HAWAIIAN BBQ burger; the meat is very flavorful and delicious, and the fries are great too. I had ROOT BEER as my drink, which was also very good.

First time we have been to Hattiesburg and ordered from here! We were so happy that we ordered! The best food we have had in a while! The cheese bacon fries highly recommend. The catfish and chicken and waffles so good! We will definitely be back and recommend for anyone coming to the area!

My husband and I visited this location and enjoyed our dining experience fell start to finish. Our waiter was Corey and he was phenomenal. He made great recommendations, was very attentive, personable, polite, and overall awesome. The great food in combination with the great service we received from Corey made our date night even more enjoyable! We will definitely be back.

We are so glad we chose Half Shell Oyster House to celebrate our anniversary! Everything was great! The food, the atmosphere, the service! Well worth every dollar we spent! All of it was so delicious! We will definitely be eating here again!

I liked the new red beans and sausage choice. It was good. I ate at bar, the lady took forever to take our order, she was talking to her boyfriend and coworkers too long!

I particularly enjoyed the New York Strip, which was juicy and flavorful. Ordered medium rare, it was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with dim lighting and comfortable seating that's ideal for both couples' dining and small group gatherings. The restaurant has a cool steakhouse vibe with signed dollar bills that range from many years of happy customers. What really elevated our visit was the exceptional service provided by our waitress, Heather. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered great recommendations. Heather's friendly demeanor and professionalism added a personal touch that made the evening more enjoyable and was a 10/10. Prices are good and in line with what you'd expect from a quality steakhouse. Overall, Donanelle's delivers a solid steakhouse experience, made even better by standout service. *They also have an outdoor sitting area.

Food was horrible. Ribs were rough as nails and not tender. Good grilled garlic bread & potato salad. Employees drinking on the clock. Bathroom was nasty. 10 people doing nothing & 1 person doing all the work. Will not be returning back there again. Waited forever for the food.

I came with friends that had eaten there before. Supposedly a great place to eat. Place was rundown, nasty looking. Waitresses unkempt. We were the 1st ones there. Orders were taken. They had catfish basket on the childrens menu, tried to order it because only other catfish on the menu was in the middle of a lettuce sandwich. I prefer crispy when fried. I was told I could not order from children's menu although was same price as the as fish sandwich. I asked that the catfish not be put in the sandwich, but bread on the side with catsup. Rest of friends orders were taken. Each person's food was brought out at different times so that everyone ate their meal before the others got theirs. My meal didn't arrive. Waitress came out and said problem with fryer it would be a little while. Even though my sisters food which was fried and delivered, when she told me mine would be delayed. Everyone had finished their meal but one,, he was having difficulty eating the ribs, I know God gave us teeth but really. . I just asked for mine to go because everyone else had finished. People were waiting for tables in a wet outside dining area, which they were forgotten also. People walking out because drinks were served but meal was forgotten. Had to ask for it. Very unorganized, poor service. Except for one meal at our table, was poor. Ribs were so tough, couldn't eat it. Baked potatoes hard and barely cooked. When paying for the meal we noticed prices were higher than stated on menu, waitress stated, it was an old menu. Place was packed but for the life of me, I don't know why. I will never eat there again. For the price was not worth it. When I got back to hotel and opened my bag, I had a soggy, greasy fish filet buried under just lettuce, no tomato, no ketchup for $14.99 and 3 soggy onion rings that i was charged $9.99.

Recommend for the good food..and they were right ..starting off with the awesome Fried Green Tomatoes..main course was perfect and ending with a delicious White Chocolate Bread Pudding.. can’t ask for a more satisfying meal and place ..

I recently dined at Crescent City and had an overall enjoyable experience. Everything was very well cooked and bursting with flavor. However, I found that the sauces used tended to overpower the natural flavors of the shrimp and fish, which took away some of the seafood's inherent deliciousness and healthiness. The wontons, unfortunately, were not very impressive. They were essentially fried cheese pockets, reminiscent of something you might find at a fast food Chinese takeout. Despite these points, the quality of the seafood itself was undeniable, and there was a lot to appreciate about the meal. I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a flavorful Cajun dining experience when visiting the area. The server was great, but the food did take forever to come out. So overall, 4 stars.

Here in Hattiesburg for work. Read the online reviews and made my way over for dinner. Prompt, friendly service. My server, Rylee, was on top of her game. Helped me with menu suggestions. Ordered Blackened Chicken Fettuccine, side Sensation salad, & White Chocolate Bread Pudding. Enjoyed it very much. I look forward to visiting again.

I got my food to go. But I'll say, they were so kind especially with the fact that I made my order almost at closing. I truly appreciate their professionalism. I do not recommend anyone do what I did. Order early, give them time to take care of you. They were amazing to me, I can only imagine how dining in would be.

Great place for lunch but get there early or after the lunch crowds...we have eaten there a lot trying something different and never had nothing I didn't like.... You may have to get a doggy bag!

We had the best time. Wonderful atmosphere, great service, steaks cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place for a date night or evening cocktails. The Cherry Blossom was delicious - just like sipping on a bouquet of spring flowers. Hope to return soon!

The atmosphere at the bar was fantastic, great bartenders and fantastic drinks! Dinner was terrific, I had the NY strip with the sweet potato mash and house salad. The bleu cheese salad dressing was the best I’ve had. The staff were very attentive. If you haven’t tried Bourbon on Front you are missing out! Great job Nelson and Jesse!

I had dinner here several nights ago with my husband and everything was divine! We had a few appetizers, the tuna crisp, the bourbon board, and the bourbon shrimp and they were all delicious! My husband had the ribeye steak and I had the redfish with the Oscar topping, per the bartenders request, and it was one of the best meals we have ever had! The drinks were very tasty as well! Heather took really good care of us and she was so kind and friendly and she makes the best old fashions and margaritas around! I highly recommend Bourbon on Front for a date night or any night out! I didn’t take any pictures being that we were so into the moment but I will definitely try to take some when we go back!

It’s a laid back atmosphere. You can come in jeans and a t shirt. What made this place shine, was the server. He was attentive and made sure the water stayed full. He was a happy guy and ensured his tables felt welcome. The food was good but not great, however, I’m thinking we came on an off day. I will be back to visit because I think the kitchen was having a Monday on a Friday. The hostess smiled and greeted us welcomely. The restaurant was clean and reminded me of a place my grandpa would want to visit. Had a nostalgic vibe. There are televisions playing bull riding competition and different flavors of beer on tap for the customer to try. It’s a really neat concept. The manager came to check on us and thanked us for coming in. Local restaurant doing Hattiesburg proud.

Absolutely phenomenal dining experience at Benson’s Steakhouse! From start to finish, every bite was pure perfection. We started with the fried pickles and fried green tomatoes—both were golden and crispy on the outside, bursting with flavor inside. The pickles had the perfect balance of crunch and tang, while the green tomatoes were a delightful Southern classic done right. The highlight of the evening was the 8 oz filet steak. It was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and juicy, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that left me savoring every bite. Seasoned just right, the steak hit that ideal spot where the flavors of the meat were front and center without being overpowered. The service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere made for a warm and inviting experience. If you’re looking for top-tier food, an elegant yet comfortable vibe, and flavors that will blow you away, Benson’s Steakhouse is hands down the place to be. I can’t wait to return for another memorable meal! Highly recommend!

The absolute best prime rib in town!!! Please go support this family owned restaurant!! Mr. & Mrs. Benson care deeply about their guests experience and you can tell they have a passion for serving others and making sure their guest receive a great meal. I will be returning and highly recommend this restaurant. My husband really enjoyed the Cowboy Chicken. 10/10!!
