Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Golden – 2024

A great little Mexican restaurant in Golden. We stopped by for dinner and had a genuinely fantastic experience. We started off with one of their Margaritas- which were fantastic and rather potent! To eat, we started off with some Nachos, which came with 2 flavoursome dips which were great. I then chose a selection of Tacos which were absolutely sensational. Every one was a taste sensation, and really bought the flavours. I finished up with their Churros - which were light, fluffy and addictive. The service was excellent, and Justice looked after us so well. If you’re looking for somewhere tasty for lunch or dinner in Golden - Reposados is an absolute must visit!

I loved the ambiance of this cute little place! The margaritas were sooo good! A little pricey, but one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had. The tacos were pretty good, but I fee like it could’ve had more toppings. I like how you can pay for 3 tacos, but choose different fillings for each. Overall, would recommend this place!

The tacos are pretty yummy and packed full of meat - which is a major plus. However, I felt that the taco shells were a tad too dry and doughy. Perhaps this is more of a different take on tacos, compared to the authentic ones from Mexican places. The churros were more biscuit-like, but still good. Service was alright, but I was put off by one of the ladies who worked there—who gave me and my partner a rather rude reply when we were simply asking if we could get someone to take our order as we had been waiting for a while. Her attitude was really shocking, when compared to all the places we have visited so far. As we are not from town and are visiting Canada for the first time, we were not aware that we could only signal for our particular server. She could have replied with more courtesy and kindness by telling us she would help us signal for whoever was serving us. This soured our experience, and honestly, though the tacos were pretty good, I won’t be recommending this place because of the service rendered to us. We still tipped the 15% out of graciousness to the one who served us, but I really hope that service overall improves at this place. Food-wise, if you're craving tacos and find yourself in Golden, visit this place. Just don’t expect top-notch service here.

Awesome place by downtown Golden that can accommodate large groups! This restaurant offered some good food without too long of a wait. We came in during rush hour and we only had to wait for 30 minutes or so, which was better than some of the other restaurants nearby. The food itself wasn't too bad as it was cooked fresh and prepared promptly. The portions were quite large and tasty, the only gripe I had with it was the amount of grease on the food. All of the dishes, especially the burger ones, were covered in a layer of grease. The flavor also wasn't anything spectacular but it was good enough after a long summer day, and the grease wasn't helping it. I really liked the atmosphere in this cozy little restaurant as we were seated inside, but there's also a patio available for those who prefer sitting outside. Overall, great place and service, but the food is a little bit too greasy.

Me and my husband decided to try the restaurant out for breakfast this morning on their patio. I had the avocado toast with greens and a chai latte and I was very pleased with how it tasted and the presentation was nice too. Definitely will be back

The ambiance was unique and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Food was delicious and came fast. We had an elk burger and bison ribs, both were pretty good. I was pleased with the portion of the mixed greens on the side. Sticky toffee pudding was served warm, really enjoyed it.

We came here for lunch. The terrace was beautiful and the service outstanding. They were setting up for an evening patio local band live show. The food wasn't great TBH. Maybe we ordered the wrong items. The tiger shrimp salad had wilted brown greens. The beef burger patties were like the ones you would make from frozen. Fries were the same. The bison ribs had too much BBQ sauce that overwhelmed the flavors. We saw many people and they all seemed to like the place so it is popular. Chicken burgers may be their specialty but we didn't try that.

Jagger is a wonderful Bartender. We had a great time talking to other patrons and the employees. The food is awesome! Bison ribs, pea soup, asparagus soup, potatoes! All of it. Beers on tap are delicious as well! We loved it so much we went back another night we were there visiting.

A cozy spot for a quick soup and sandwich fix. The carrot ginger soup is a delightful choice, and the turkey and cranberry sandwich adds a festive touch to your meal. It’s like a holiday celebration in every bite. Just don’t forget to close the door behind you—no one wants a cold breeze interrupting their lunch!

Working abroad. Our boss took our crew out for a year end dinner. Have worked here in Golden, B.C. several times over the years. My first time dining at The Turning Point. A casual ambiance. Seems to be a popular place. Being a food aficionado. I'd say the food was Ok. I had the French onion soup to start. Nice hearty broth. For the main. I had the 10oz striploin w a shrimp skewer, carrots & broccolini. The highlight for me was there crispy mashed loaded potatoes. 2 spring roll shaped deep fried mashed potatoes with all the fixings. They were delicious, have never had them this way. Our server was Shay was awesome and handled our table of 10 like a pro. So all n all, if your in the idyllic town of Golden. Definitely stop in for a meal.

Best Fettuccine Alfredo I have ever tasted. Great baked lasagna. Prices are a little high but the food was great. I would have rated 5 stars but our waiter took over 5 minutes to bring us our to go boxes and only came back over after we flagged down another server and asked them.

I have never tried food this much horrible for this much price. Overpriced horrible tasting food. Took 2 ginger beef its too sweet couldn’t finish. Took the lasagna its too salty and there was a lot of white pasta underneath. Well the bread they give for free is ok and edible(only thing). Overrated place, not worth it. Tbh the name is appropriate, you eat this food and turn and never return to TURNING POINT.

Went here for an early Saturday night dinner right when they opened and we were seated right away. Ambience and service were great, and food was absolutely amazing. The dragon boat seafood platter was chef’s kiss memorable and I’d totally come back for that alone. The cannelloni, butter chicken, and squash ravioli were great too! No dietary restriction at our table but I could hear their menu seemed super accommodating for gluten allergies.

This place is only good if you got trapped in the mountains searching for Rogers Pass and had to spend the winter there and barely made it out alive. Why would any sane person mix mashed potatoes with cabbage? Why would your mixed vegetables ever be a raw carrot and red pepper combo? Why would you offer any Canadian wine on a wine list? I ordered a NY steak medium and they brought it shoe leather well done. The Moroccan soup and shepherd's pie and ambiance is keeping them afloat.

Food was very good. The feta dip and pretzel bread was excellent. The curry chicken was quite well made with high quality ingredients. My partner very much enjoyed the salmon pasta special. Menu itself was developed well. Lovely variety of dishes without being too burdened with options. Service was excellent. Staff were great and their cocktails brought excellent flavour combinations. Only complaint is the atmosphere was less intimate. We were unaware of it being a family friendly establishment, so there were infants seated near by which were disruptive to the experience. Not a huge deal grand scheme of things. Highly recommend
