Went to the Valley Lodge Tavern. We ordered some very nice drinks. Martini was well made. My wife enjoyed her wine. The waitress was welcoming and very nice. Great place for drinks. Sadly, I have to say the food was substandard. My friend ordered the Shrimp Scampi and I ordered the ribs. Note: we were very surprised at how small the order of pasta was that came with the Shrimp Scampi. It seems like a side dish. Also the food had very little taste and seemed overcooked and kind of rubbery, especially ribs. Might want to talk to the cooks on that... However, the waitress was outstanding. Lastly, the atmosphere was wonderful, people seem very happy to be there.
It’s was a cool spot. The food was great. I had their salad paired with a red wine of theirs. Severs were on it. The semi-outdoor seating was nice and then I spent some time at the bar. Great service there too.
Went here with my mother. Chicken was remarkably bland, almost no taste; the salad was great (although why you'd spend $6 on that few shrimps???); the drinks were superb and the cheesecake was really good. A little on the expensive side but we did get some decent service with okay food. Strike one: the maitre d' wore tatty and torn jeans, with kind of a gross sweater; my mother commented on it very strongly, saying that if she wore those kinds of jeans at her job she'd be immediately fired (considering she wears jeans at her job anyway). Strike two: the chicken was, like I said, bland and almost tasteless. It was crunchy and the chicken itself was moist but it had almost no flavor to it. Strike three: it was incredibly loud in there. Admittedly we didn't know it was Thursday Night Football but it was just...way too loud. In summary: Don't know if I'd go back for the fried chicken, would probably go back for the salad (minus shrimp, which added nothing) and the drinks. 4/5 stars because the service was great.

We feel like we found the perfect restaurant!! The atmosphere was warm, friendly & professional, and well appointed. The Beet Mezz (Stuffed beets with whipped goat cheese, pomegranate arils & crispy pumpkin seeds) was excellent and worth the 30 minute drive. We’re going back soon!!
Delicious! It was our first time dining at Social Inn and we came to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. We shared the French Creamy Cheese Bites for an appetizer - the creamy cheese coated in corn flakes with a blueberry jam were delicious! My two boys both got pasta dishes that they enjoyed (note - there is no separate kids menu, but three items are marked as “kid friendly” on the menu). My husband enjoyed the duck breast and I enjoyed the Rigatoni with Sausage (the sausage is homemade at the restaurant). Since it was my husband’s birthday, they brought out a complementary dessert - Blueberry Swirl Scoops. It tasted like Blueberry cheesecake. Wonderful! We will definitely be back!
Tucked away in a strip mall, this restaurant is a hidden gem that exceeded my expectations. The sophisticated ambience transported me to a high-end city establishment, while the exceptional service made me feel like a valued regular. But the real star of the show was the food – exquisite flavors and expertly prepared. Daily special fish was fresh and had a perfect cook. Burger is decent enough. The social board with fresh warm pita and variety of dippings was flavorful. Don't let its suburban location fool you – this restaurant is a great date night place, a special family dinner or even a chill lounge to have drinks with a buddy or read a book.
Dengeos Glenview is a premier dining establishment located in the heart of Glenview, Illinois, dedicated to providing an exceptional culinary experience to our valued customers….
Stopped by for a quick family meal, and the place was taken over by 3 different little league teams...it was insane!!! There were kids screaming and running around like crazy...the parents looked like they were waiting for Calgon to take them away!!! Anyways, the food was pretty good... maybe stop by on a weekday if you're looking for a quieter experience...ha ha ha ha Would go back, the cheeseburger was FANTASTIC !!!
What I liked best about this place was the portion size. I thought $16 bucks for a gyro dinner was a lot until I got my food. I ate half for lunch and the rest for dinner! It wasn’t the best I’ve had but it was good enough. I would go back and try something else on the menu.
Pretty nice spot, very similar to Yorky’s in the Western suburbs if you are familiar. Kid friendly and laid back environment. Reasonable prices and reasonable (not very big) portion sizes. I wish they had a roasted/lemon Greek potato as an offering - some people put pics in their reviews but we weren’t given as an option. The gyro is the standard ground meat gyro - wish they had pork gyro too. They had helium filled balloons for kids which was a winner for us. Got crowded after 5:30 ish on a Sunday. They have the best dispenser napkins anywhere in Chicago. I mean it, it was amazing (small things in life). The only place I’ve been to that put anchovies in the Greek salad - which was fine for me but not so for the wifey. Our toddler did not like the hotdog. He said it had a “hard shell”… so he doesn’t like the casing, oh well… can’t please those kids nowadays.

Food was very good. A nostalgic place with all old celebrities pictures on the wall (Sofia Loren, Telly Savalas, etc). A classic steak house with classic entrees, drinks, and desserts. Located on the first floor. Handicapped parking available. All of our entrees were delicious. I would stop by again if I was in the area.
Every year for the past five years, we have gotten Thanksgiving dinner from Johnny’s to take home. It has always been fantastic! This year since everyone who came to my house likes to make their own sides, we decided only to do their turkey which was the best turkey I’ve ever eaten. When we brought it home, it was still steaming hot. We sliced it up and it was the juiciest and most tender turkey I believe I’ve ever had. Everyone raved about it! If you don’t have the time, or space, to make your own turkey for Thanksgiving, I definitely recommend ordering from Johnny’s.
Outstanding. Incredible service and friendly staff. The food was delicious and portions were large. Will stop again next time we're in Chicago.

My husband and I went for date night on wendnesday night. Was it my high expectations? We had hamachi & charred avocados, truffle salmon, sweet corn hummus, Brussels spouts & honey crisp salad, braised beef short ribs, slow cooked lamb pot roast. Our favorite was hamachi & charred avocados. Even though sashimi were very thinly sliced, I still tasted the hamachi and lychee gave that extra texture and avocados balanced the buttery flavor. Truffle salmon, crisp roasted garlic, chive, leaks gave smoky flavor made the dish taste almost like smoked salmon, but couldn't really taste salmon and garnish was just too over powering for such a rich flavor fish. Sweet corn hummus, just tasted basic with sweet corn, nothing special about it. Brussels sprout salad, it's just too much of raw hard textures, with dressing just tasted regular store bought fruit salad dressing. Both dinner entrée wasn't tender enough, both short rib and lamb needs to be much more tender to be called braised or pot roasted in my opinion. It almost tasted dry. Overall foods were 3 stars Dessert, we got honey cake and sticky date cake. They both were 5 stars. Sticky date cake was still fluffy and moist inside and top was toasty and crunchy like brulee. Not too sweet and had that subtle date texture and flavor. Honey cake, I love how I tasted fresh warm honey and not to sweet but enough sweet. I would come back here just for the desserts and the atmosphere. Because their desserts so good, maybe having a good tea menu would be nice to pair with.
Visited for the first time with friends. Dishes were all shareable but the portions are small. Had to order multiples. Ordered more food than what’s shown from the pics. Tasted good but not sure if I’d pay as much as we did per person.
Made reservations for 2pm on a Friday. Wasn’t too busy and plenty of parking. Bring a sweater or something because it gets pretty cold in there. The staff there were really nice and accommodating to any food allergies (shoutout to Cecilia M). The wait was a little long for the food but everything was made to order with so many details and very fresh. We went for our anniversary and they gave us free frozen yogurt at the end of our meal! We ordered multiple items because I wanted to try everything. My favorite was definitely the short rib sandwich and the tuna on top of some crispy potato thing. Salty, savory, sweet. Yum! They do have a different menu for dinner which I didn’t get to try but maybe next time! The food is definitely pricey but looking at how much work was put into each dish I can see why it is priced the way it is. You can also ask to remove the 3% surcharge we ended up just giving that to our waitress. The interior design was beautiful as well. Each table or booth was carefully designed to make it feel like I was on a very fancy date with beautiful greenery and great lighting.. just look at my food pics. I’m loving the neutral vibes I got from there. Def would take my girls here for brunch and cute pictures. And the bathrooms had fancy lotion in there as well if you’re into that. There’s also a large beautiful mirror upon entering the bathroom hall which is a nice touch. Overall the food was pricey but worth it and delicious. I need to mention again that the restaurant was designed beautifully they really deserve a round of applause for making the atmosphere so relaxing and lovely. Great staff. Good food. Free parking!

Beer lovers this is your place, so many choices from bottles to taps. If you can, come during the happy hours to get $2 off beers and 50% off selected appetizers. The food here is the standard bar food, not great but good enough. Not sure it would be worth it without the 50% deal
Food : Buffalo Chicken Pizza and onion rings. Onion rings were really good and pizza was alright. Beer: October fest and Honey blonde. Honey blonde was better than October fest. Great outdoor seating area and loved the vibe. Vick served us and her energy is amazing!! Helped us with recommendations and was fast! overall good experience!
Love coming to Yardhouse! Food is always good and drinks are even better. We got the bbq chicken salad which never fails! And also got the nachos and the onion ring tower! So good! Also tried the goose island hazy beer hug and it was delicious

Solid place. Love the vibe. Food tasted very good, especially the Burger. Would recommend it for anyone into fried foods. Even the corn beef tastes fresh. Wish the server was more attentive. Didn’t give many napkins or refills unless asked. It’s either because the restaurant is so spread out or the fact that there were very few servers when we came. There was an issue that occurred… We had a bug appear in one of my tables wine glasses. Really freaked them out. But they were extremely nice about it and fixed a new glass. Not something entirely they could control, but we were inside eating sooooo it was a little weird it happened. Nice and quiet. Good place to come to just relax and eat good food. Would recommend and probably come again!
My wife and I came here to experience the food and the Geodesic Domes seating they have outside of the establishment. Overall the atmosphere and service were great! We both ordered 1 Original French Fried Onions in medium, and The Famous Hackney burgers. The "onion brick" was very good, not too greasy and pairs well with mustard in my opinion! The burgers were also very delicious. The only minor gripe we both had was that we both asked for our burgers to be done medium, but received more of a medium rare. Regardless of that, everything else was perfect and we'll definitely be back again!
It seems like I only review places that I like. Hackneys on Harms was a family favorite when I was growing up on the mean streets of Wilmette. Alas, I am not wealthy enough to live in the immediate area any longer. But the wife got the idea to grab lunch here for old times sake. It hasn't changed much in circa 10 years. Food is still good. The patio was busy on a warm fall day, and their beer selection is still excellent. My only complaint is that the prices are over twice what they once were - but that can at least partially be blamed on the passage of time. I had their take on a smash burger, and it was very good. We also tried an order of Buffalo-style breaded and fried cauliflower apps, which were surprisingly good. We skipped the fried onions this time. Maybe in another decade if the world holds together. The staff was a couple of hands short, but they did a pretty good job keeping up with the crowd.

Great service host gave me good seating the owner even came up and greeted me and made sure I had a good experience food was amazing had the lamb chops was great I will be back best lamb in the city so far
Cafe Lucci in Glenview, IL, is a true gem for Italian cuisine enthusiasts. From the moment I stepped in, the inviting aroma of fresh bread set the tone for a delightful dining experience. The bread, paired with the roasted garlic spread, was a heavenly start, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality. I opted for the bone-in veal Parmigiana, and I was thoroughly impressed. The dish was a perfect blend of tender veal, flavorful tomato sauce, and gooey cheese – a true Italian classic executed with finesse. The special of the day, the prime skirt steak, exceeded expectations with its succulence and rich taste. The culinary expertise extended to the bar, where I savored a well-crafted dirty martini. The balance of flavors in the cocktail complemented the meal beautifully. Equally noteworthy was the attentive service; the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and ensured a seamless dining experience. One standout aspect was the restaurant's consideration for its patrons. Despite our leisurely pace, there was no rush to vacate the table after finishing our meal. The valet parking, especially appreciated on a rainy day, added a touch of convenience to the overall experience. Cafe Lucci not only excels in delivering delectable Italian dishes but also in creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages patrons to savor each moment. This establishment has undoubtedly earned a place among my favorite dining spots, and I look forward to returning to indulge in their culinary delights.
It is perfectly fine restaurant in Glenview with great service. Pasta dishes were good but, unfortunately, all the seafood items were a bit dry and overcooked. That is one flaw that is difficult to overlook at this price point. Given how competitive this area has become with so many good restaurants, I hope they can keep up.

We had an incredible experience at Gusto Italiano tonight! The food was outstanding—authentic Italian flavors and beautifully prepared dishes. The appetizer was amazing, and everything that followed was just as delicious. A huge thank you to Jim Place who treated us with such warmth. The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was excellent. We’ll definitely be back soon!
We loved this restaurant. The food was very fresh and they delivered it perfectly with all of my modifications (I have a lot of food allergies and preferences.) servings were substantial. we were there on a Saturday night in November 2024. We Reserved in advance and were seated upon arrival. We will definitely go here again. Definitely make a reservation in advance. It is very popular and though it has a large dining area, it was full.
It has been years since we had last been to Gusto Italiano. So long that the last time we were there, Gusto was at its previous location. However, we decided to check them out a couple weeks ago and there were several in our party. The newer place was nice: old wood, high ceilings, the place looks nice. Service was pretty decent too. And that's about it. The food was seriously bland. I ordered the gnocchi with bolognese and meatballs. No flavor anywhere. Nothing had any flavor. A little oregano, a little garlic powder, maybe a little pepper. There just was no flavor to my dish at all. And I'm not the only one who felt this way. Everyone had flavor issues with their meals. The flavor was absent and in its place was either nothing or salt. Another friend was there last week and had the same issues. With so many options around for Italian, Gusto really needs to step up their flavor profiles or people will go elsewhere, like I will.

Jibek Jolu is truly one of my favorite spots. The plov is incredible - perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and really makes you feel at home. I’ve been coming here for the past three years, and every meal has been a 10 out of 10. They’re so consistent with quality, from the main dishes to the desserts. Last time, the dessert we tried was just as delightful as the main course. It’s clear they put care into every detail. A fantastic place with amazing food, friendly service, and a wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience.
I really, really liked the restaurant! It was incredibly delicious, wonderful service and super interior! We haven't been to such a wonderful place for a long time, where everything is combined at 5+. I especially want to mention the waitress Dilnaz! A wonderful girl, she served us perfectly and quickly, brought everything quickly and recommended dishes and cocktails, came up to us many times and worried whether everything was okay with us! I highly recommend this place
I had a wonderful dinner at Jibek Jolu Glenview! The branzino and eggplant salad were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The interior design is beautiful, and the authentic atmosphere makes the dining experience even better. Highly recommend!

I came into work early in the morning very kind, hostesses very helpful. I had a great server. The food was very delicious. Very scrumptious and I really enjoyed my latte and my eggs with sausage and tomatoes and pancakes. Food most try definitely recommend Ellys. Coming back again with family and friends:)
Clean, not too noisy, a bit outdated decor but comfortable booths. Both had salads which had a lot of grilled chicken on them. The chicken was freshly cooked, tender and favorable. However, the Caesar dressing was disgusting. Good thing I got it on the side because it was just a bowl of thick gloopy crap. I tasted a teeny bit on my fork and it tasted awful. My husband shared his Mediterranean dressing with me, which was good. Our server was not good. He was in a huge rush and was not friendly. Talked so fast we couldn't understand him. Brought the check while I was still eating (rude!) and didn't ask if I needed a to go box. Had to go up front and ask for one.
I had a fantastic breakfast at Elly’s Pancake House in Glenview! The food was excellent, and Amy provided wonderful service—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. I also noticed the owner has been investing in the parking lot and the building, which is making the place look even more inviting and aesthetically pleasing. Highly recommend this spot for a great meal and experience!

The restaurant was solid and has a variety of food options. You won’t be blown away but also not disappointed. A notable item was the fried pickles, which was unique. I ordered a white wine but came in a smaller glass compared to the other customers in the dining room. It was a considerably smaller pour that others around me and I was confused why they didn’t serve it in a wine glass. Aside from that, the service was great for our larger group. Overall, this place is a safe pick if you’re going for conversation first, food second :)
We usually go to Yardhouse but recently we discovered this hidden gems. Food is amazing. We had risotto with huge short ribs, torttos, and jumbalaya. Total is under 85$. This place deserves to be more popular.
Everyone was super nice. Great server we had tonight! Loved our wings and fried pickles! Music a bit too loud for my liking, and restroom needed to be checked more frequently. This was my 2nd time here, and do plan to return!

Fantastic food with amazing staff! No reservation, quick seating while they were pretty busy. Food came out as ordered with urgency. Every member would help clean up the table and refill the drinks. Would definitely recommend!
Pretty cool place with a nice atmosphere but its def a loud place. The food and dessert was pretty good. Only issue is that the service/waiter tend to be slow, the glass they give you pop in is small and it was difficult to het a refile, they served is our desert which was a brownie with ice cream but our plates were never cleared and once they did clear it they didn’t give us any silverware to eat our dessert with. The wait times were way to long
Been here at Fire Thyme a few times. I must say the food, experience and ambiance are incredible. The staff is amazing. Very friendly and outstanding service. Food is amazing. Had the Smash Burger, Lobster Roll Pasta and Mac and Cheese. All three blew me away. Most definitely coming back again soon. I must give Jamie the owner and her team props for there hard work an amazing atmosphere.

Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, friendly stuff!!! We had porterhouse steaks, red skin mashed potatoes, loaded potato and mushroom caps. Crab cakes and crispy fried fresh calamari for appetizer. Everything was delicious
Had a really nice experience where our waiter was attentive and happily made adjustments when asked. Their salads and steaks are wonderful. Food is reliably great and look forward to coming back.
"Wildfire delivered on excellent food and service. The steak was perfectly cooked to my request, and the quality of the meal was impressive. Our server was polite and attentive, enhancing the dining experience. However, the entrance welcoming could improve, as I was initially asked to wait for other guests without the option to be seated immediately. Overall, a great experience with a small area for improvement
