Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Gimli – 2024

The Fish & Chips, Fried Chicken, and Grill Cheese Sandwiches we had were delicious. Staff was super friendly. A very nice family restaurant!

This seemed like a family friendly restaurant. Good food and prompt services. Staffs were friendly. Fish fries with their tartar sauce and lime paired perfectly. The roast beef sandwich was good and filling too.

Was not happy with our last visit. The fish was microwave first, then deep-fried. Batter was still doughy. I ordered their sliders. We ate there previously, and I was given 3 small sliders, but today I only received 2. I mentioned it to the manager, and she was extremely rude.She said I was lying and that they always sold 2. We live in a small town so there are not many restaurants to choose from. Not sure if we will return .

Very nice Chinese restaurant! Tasty food, good service, favorable price. The important thing is you will feel you are eating at your own warm home because those nice people.

Ordered take out. Quick service and it was piping hot. Ordered the dry breaded veal, honey garlic chicken balls, deluxe chop suey, szechwan shrimp, egg and spring rolls. Came with bonus chicken fried rice for a take out over $60. Everything was very good. Highly recommended.

Very good buffet. I tried just about everything and it did not disappoint. The deep fried fish was succulent and juicy. I don’t even like fish, but I loved that. If you are in Gimli, definitely check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.

Ordered the Viking pizza, 4 piece dinner, poutine and the hot bbq chicken wings. Everything was so good. The fried chicken was probably my favourite next to the pizza. Great service, amazing food. Will definitely be back.

Nice people with nice food. As a mother of two boys, I happily let my kids to have lunch there with no worries about ingredients and cook way. Trust the best.

The honey garlic wings here are the best. And the cheese in the pizza is beyond imagination. 겨울의 Gimli는 이 곳 G&C 다!^^

I placed an order for pick up for 6 adults and 2 kids. I had written down each person’s meal down before I called to place my order to ensure I wouldn’t miss anything. I even had the employee read back the order to ensure it was correct. However, we were disappointed after we got our meals and 3 orders of fries and a poutine were missing. Definitely put a bit of a damper on our dinner. Also, I ordered a lettuce burger, which proved to be a disappointment as they failed to tell me they didn’t have the right lettuce for a lettuce burger. Rather, they gave me a burger covered in shredded lettuce. If I would have known they were going to give me a burger covered in lettuce, I would have ordered something else. When I called to let them know our order was incorrect, the employee who took our call didn’t really take responsibility, which was frustrating. They did end up making the missing items, but we had to drive back to get them in the middle of dinner. Many in our group ate their food cold.

If you want to taste a great buger simply go to Carlo's Cucina.multiple le burger week winner and the best burgers/fries the other 51 weeks a year.

The food is awesome, we love the fish and chips. The hostess is excellent and very kind. My daughter loves the Poutine. Very authentic dark wood hard decor, warm and welcoming atmosphere

After first attempting another place to no avail, we found ourselves at the Ship and Plough. Started with the longship lemonade to wet the whistle. The drink was so good it needed 2 more to go with the meal. Ordered the Fish and Chips and Wow, were we not disappointed. Was starting to tire of fish and chips being the same same. Having them here was an experience in itself. Highly recommend.

Ship and Plough is one of our favourite stops while in Gimli! This past visit we really enjoyed the Cheesy Fried Pickles in Eggroll wrap and the Cajun flavoured Ribbies were awesome! They weren’t traditional ringlets but actually seasoned crispy back ribs! Super tender and well seasoned. Service was attentive and food was fast and delicious! We’ll be back!!

Absolutely amazing food. Definitely would recommend trying this place out awesome stuff! Great atmosphere! Can't wait to go again for the Titan burger ❤️ oh and the small fry definitely worth worth it, not many places I give that good abortion sizes. Make sure to go a with an appetite

Have tried it a few times. It's just OK. Menu seems to be way too large for them to serve fresh and quality/consistent food... -The atmosphere is alright, besides the flies? -The food decent. Nothing special. Last visit it actually tasted bad though, and the fries seemed 8 hours old (although they seem to make their own fries - BIG props to them, and also the fries sizing is exceptional!) -Sizing for french fries is exceptional. -Pricing just OK. A bit expensive for a small town. So: would I recommend Europa to a Gimli visitor? Probably not. There are better choices.

Ordered with no warning in time, and ended up waiting over an hour for two souvlakis, a burger, and a fry. The fries are OK, but for fries we have to salt and season ourselves the time it took was worrying. The souvlakis came out appalling, overfilled and not even attempted to properly wrap. The outside of the pita was wet while the inside was too crisp to stay wrapped. For the price and time there are many places better worth your patronage

went here fish and chips during lunch and overall it was pretty solid ordered the battered fish and chips and the fish tacos and both were super tasty. however, there were a couple of things missing from the order, like the tartar sauce and coleslaw which was a bit of a bummer it was really busy though and there was a long wait time, so i get that mistakes happen. but the service at the front could’ve been better, felt a little rushed and not super attentive. all in all, the food was great, but the experience could’ve been smoother

Cute little diner. Clean and very busy. The pickerel was very good and large amount and delicious fries. In addition their raspberry milkshake was excellent . The person at the counter inside took our order of 1 pickerel meal that included fries and a milkshake. They barely smiled. (None of the workers smiled). She asked us if we wanted our milkshake before or with the meal. We took it before. We waited 45 minutes for our meal. I did see a sign that they are hiring. I get that but all it would have took when we were ordering is if they told us that it would be over a 30 minute wait.

It's still one of the best places in Gimli for fish and chips. Their battered mushrooms were also awesome. Be prepared to wait around 20 minutes if the restaurant is full.

I thoroughly enjoyed the coffee they roast, would love to have had the aroma lingering in the shop. Their ginger snaps were my fave along with the breakfast bagel. Went back for a second time and had the London fog. So so tasty.. Definitely recommend stopping by if you in the area. ❤️

We visited Gimli this Friday and tried Flatland Coffee Roasters. It was great! They have a good menu, and we tried the Iced London Fog, which was excellent. For food, we asked for a chicken sandwich (not on the menu), and it was really tasty. The staff was friendly and kind, making the experience even better.

If you are a coffee lover, this is your spot. Their espresso shot is really good. Everything they do that has coffee is a go for.

Love the food at the restaurant and service is exceptional, prices are very fair. My 20yr+ favorite is their breakfast bun, it's so good.

I haven't been to "The Oldie " in quite a while but recently had breakfast. As usual, the service was great. My breakfast came quickly and was a pleasure to eat. Just as good as I remember.

Food is delicious and the prices are unbeatable for Gimli. Very very good.

Beautiful day to sit on the patio. Burger was a bit too greasy for my preference. Fries were good. Others at the table who got the fish tacos really enjoyed them. Another ordered a Reuben and said it was really good.

Came in for fish, of course. Was hoping to sit on the patio, but a sudden downpour brought everyone inside. Food was awesome, service was also wonderful. Waitress thought I looked cold being rained on and took off her sweater to give to me while I ate dinner! Best waitress goes to Morgan! Thanks for the friendly service and delicious supper!

Everything in the restaurant was perfect specifically the ambiance. When you are there you feel it is old europe and this is what I expect from a local restaurant. Food was tasty, we had a dinner with fries and greek salad that is enough for two for $23.

This pizza is the best pizza I have ever tasted. The pizza was nicely made with multiple, flavourful layers that is completely unbeatable. The crust wasn’t like any other crust, it was soft and airy. This pizza is clearly immaculate, you can tell it was made with love and passion. Each bite you take, it is worth it.

Words are more than amazing on what I can say about this place!! The owner himself is beyond fantastic with his customer service as well as having a great conversation, and the quality of the food is amazing!! Nothing will ever compare to the customer service this man does!! It has been the best I've ever had, which it even beats what used to be my top favorite back home in Alberta. I was full after 2 slices, which he makes his pizzas thick, and can customize however you want it all in one pizza. I bought 2 pizzas because I wanted to give one to my best friend! I came here for the first time, and will most certainly be back again! Thank you so much Spero for everything you do, keep up the amazing work !!

Comfortable atmosphere. Welcoming staff. Outstanding service. The pizza is awesome. I would compare Spero's pizza to the best Greek/Italian pizza I have enjoyed. Delicious crust-sauce and great fresh ingredients. I will return and suggest you try this restaurant !!! The Deluxe pizza was fantastic !! One pizza at $40.00 will feed 3/4 adults Thank You Spero's !!

cute place.. BUT! so many.. so so so so so many.. bugs. i’ve never seen so many mayflies. they were flying in my face. when i walked about 300 flew right onto me. went to a gas station down the road. there were mayflies in the washroom. mayflies on the sides of houses. mayflies on stairs. mayflies dead. mayflies alive. so many mayflies. if you want to go definitely go when there isn’t mayflies everywhere.

Gimli is a beautiful place year round. These fall time pictures include walking trails along the lake, the Gimli Viking statue, pier with murals and fishing spots, harbor, and beach area.

Beautiful town,great beach, we had an up close tour of the Coast guard vessel, very cool!

checked out this pizza spot at night and it was delicious ordered three mini pizzas: the brennivins special, alfredo, and market. both the brennivins special and market pizzas were super delicious and filling and just really hit the spot. the alfredo pizza was tasty, but the cold broccoli on top was kind of mid.. we also tried the french onion soup and it was just okay nothing too crazy. the service here was great though! no complaints there

Tried the pierogi and classic pizza, both were amazing! For sure my go to pizza spot in Gimli

Absolutely delicious! A bit of a wait but we happily provided our phone number and went for ice cream first. The staff were warm and welcoming. We enjoyed pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks, and French fries. All was amazing and I would happily eat here again. Dining room is on the small side so if you are planning to come with a group bigger than 4 I would call ahead!
