Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Edinburg – 2024

I love the big, fat, and juicy boneless wings. They were soaked in buffalo sauce and are a good portion. The homemade ranch is addicting as are the fries. This has to be one of my favorite boneless wing places! Also appreciate the happy hour specials on food and drinks. We will be coming often. YUM

Wished I lived closer as this would definitely be a go-to location to relax after work or on the weekend. The service here is top-notch notch with delicious food items to match. So if in the area, stop by for some adult beverages or just a good time. The choice is yours

The best local bar and grill I've ever been to!

We dropped by for a drink after y we're pleased with place and service. We sat at the bar and chatted over drinks. We didn't have any game we were watching, but they had many on the screens.  It wasn't very noisy and we easily carried on our conversation. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Great Food choices ! Plenty of beer on Tap ! Lots of TV’s inside and out ! My husband loved the Cajun Shrimp Pasta ! Kiddos kinda liked the sliders but preferred the Chicken Strips ! Plenty of parking . Waitstaff was attentive . Beer was nice and cold ! Chicken sandwich was a lot and tasted so yummy !

It was our first time visiting this place, and it was excellent! The burguers are beyond the expectations. Hot for teacher and Teachers pet are amazing!! It was an awesome combination of flavors that bursted in the mouth. It was a fantastic experience.

My server Emily was awesome! So was the chicken salad I had for lunch. The management was not so great. I was given an incorrect beer in the flight I ordered. I took a sip it and it didn’t taste like anything I ordered. I looked at it, and then noticed the number was incorrect from what I had circled. I told her the beer is from the same brewery as what I ordered but they poured the wrong one. She replaced that beer. When she brought my ticket, I pointed out that the incorrect beer was still on the tab as well as the correct one. She took it back to have it removed and came back and said the ticket was already closed out so she refunded me in cash. I waited a bit (while finishing my flight) and when she came back by, I asked her if they made her pay from her tips. She hesitated then said yes. I said, keep your money. That is not okay. They could have gone in and changed it. I own a restaurant and know how these things work. They just didn’t want to do the extra couple minutes of work. I left the cash and had luckily tipped her extra on my card ahead of time. If I would have had cash on me that day I would have left even more after that. Mistakes happen. There is a right and wrong way to make up for them. She did right to make up for it — management did wrong. The beer selection was good.

Great brunch and we loved the staff and food was amazing

Absolutely delicious food, great service. Not only is the food delicious, the portion/plate sizes are extremely generous - you will be going home very full! Employees are very nice, attentive, and wearing masks. The restaurant was very clean, not over crowded at all. Felt very comfortable and safe dining in restaurant. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone looking to eat delicious, authentic Mexican food in a clean, safe environment.

Chicken tacos contained chicken only inside, tortillas, and few diced tomatoes. This pick up order was oddly on a foil wrapped paper plate covered with plastic wrap. The bottom of the tortillas were soggy and unable to be picked up without falling apart. No napkin or utensils were provided to deal with the mess. I've seen better from a kids meal.

Great friendly service, food came out fast, and food atmosphere .

11/29/24. Friday nite and the Roadhouse was pretty crowded. We were able to get a seat at the bar and get fast service. The Prime Rib was just a little more cooked than I liked but it was still delicious.

Great atmosphere and staff. Wonderful service. Our waitress was phenomenal. I have never had a waitress as good as she was. Top notch. We really don’t expect much from waiters and waitresses, just a refill every now and then. But this waitress was at the table with a new glass of coke or water immediately after we took our last sip. It was astounding. Fresh rolls, fresh drinks, amazing service. I don’t know if she wants her name on the internet, so I won’t put it, but she was great. We gave her a large tip, but she deserved more than that. The food was hot and fresh, and everything was wonderful.

We've eaten at the Trenton location 5 times now and each time had been the same fantastic experience. I normally order their steaks medium rare and they always come out exactly as I ordered. And as always, their dinner rolls and cinnamon butter are fantastic. Customer service is also exemplary with servers refilling drinks without us needing to ask and making sure everything is great on the table. Highly recommend this location.

We haven't had a date night in awhile and this restaurant did not skip a beat. From mouth watering food to exquisite drinks. The ambience of the restaurant, the excellent service, and the overall elegance of their specialty rooms. We are definitely making this restaurant our destination for every anniversary to come.

This establishment is truly a gem! If you want to be transported for an evening, this is an absolute must! The ambiance, staff, and food service is superb! My husband and I enjoyed our 30th wedding anniversary dinner here and they made sure to make it an extra special experience. We have already made plans to have cocktails and dinner sometime soon!

As always, this visit was a truly remarkable experience. We enjoyed the 4-course pairing with Papa Pilar, and it was a wonderful time. The meal selections were excellent, as were the cocktail pairings. The ambiance was magnificent, and the service was top-notch. We look forward to the next event of this sort. They're so popular, I only hope I can reserve in time.

They have the best staff and service bar none. I love coming to eat dinner here. The food is delicious, the ambiance is amazing. But what makes this location the best is the service and attention we receive . It’s all around the best.

Super enjoyable meal in a wonderful atmosphere that won't break the bank. The food was delicious. Homemade corn tortillas were a great accompaniment to the spicy Puntas. The history is an interesting read especially for El Pollo Loco fans. Definitely recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Palenque Grill Edinburg, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The food was outstanding, and the service was top-notch. Very good steak sirloin, around $16 with a coke ($3), salad, fries + TIPS, so final around $19 per person. They have special dish every day of the week. Homemade French fries but a little bit overcooked… almost a perfect lunch … all the waitresses speak Spanish. I took photos of the menu and upload them…

I ordered 2 takeout meals from their lunch specials. When I got there to pick up the restaurant was pretty packed and the atmosphere was great and The workers were very friendly. The food smelled great as I was heading home. When I took a bite I felt extremely disappointed. The country fried steak has no flavor/seasoning on both the crust or the steak. The mashed potatoes tasted like the powdered ones you got as a kid at school lunch. The corn tasted like it was just taken out of a can. French fries were really greasy and had no salt. I will never go back and order from here again. It is a shame as the place feels very inviting, but their food is the worst I have tried in the RGV. I am only rating based on the food.

Food is fresh and cooked when ordered, love the same space. I feel like I’m at my grandmas house, the front lady is always talking to us. Love the home made hot sauce, coffee is really good. People are so nice here.

Their salsa is amazing, seriously I would go back just for that. Luckily, the rest of the menu is just as great. Great prices and great vibe, definitely has that home cooked feel.

The food was amazing and delicious five dumps up . I tried beef and shrimp bowl it was delicious . My first time eating here I will return again!!! The waitress was so friendly and polite, helping full. I forgot to tell about cucumber, lemonade, amazing.

Delicious food, beautiful presentation, and unbelievable prices. Amazing place for lunch with family and friends. We shared the Choriqueso which was loaded with chorizo, and I had the Gorilla Hot Dog which was delicious. The Burgers and Tortas all used fresh meat and tasted wonderful, and the salads had crunchy and fresh greens along with chicken and salmon that tastes like it is grilled to order. Everything was wonderful and I plan on visiting as much as I can to try out more of their food. Full Review Below The Choriqueso as an appetizer is served bubbling hot on a skillet and is loaded with chorizo along with 6 homemade tortillas on the side. The Gorilla Hot Dog is one of my favorites that I try to get every time I visit. It’s a savory sausage wrapped in bacon and topped with tomato, grilled onion, house sauce, and a big slice of Panela Cheese. The hot dog feels like a meal by itself for the price of $2.99, there’s nowhere else where something this delicious can be this affordable. The Mushroom Swiss Poblano Burger is unlike any mushroom burger I’ve had. The Poblanos cut the creaminess very nicely and bring a wonderful flavor to the burger that I can’t find anywhere else. If you like Mushroom Swiss, I recommend trying this burger at least once, you won’t regret it. The Grilled Salmon with Lemon Dill Sauce is a beautiful salad with a large piece of fresh grilled Salmon accompanied with rice and vegetables. The fish tasted fresh and so did the vegetables. The arrangement and proportions of the Grilled Salmon is the best I’ve seen at any restaurant whether it be sit-down casual or fine dining. I am not the biggest fan of fish, but even I can appreciate a wonderful dish such as this. The Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad is served with freshly grilled chicken on top of a bed of parmesan cheese and cool crisp romaine lettuce, which is accompanied by cherry tomatoes and croutons. This was the first time I had freshly grilled chicken added to a Ceasar Salad, and it elevated the quality of it tremendously. The Chicken was seasoned perfectly and left me feeling warm, while the salad was cool and refreshing. Lastly, the Steak Torta is a great representation of a traditional Torta. The Steak and the Ham were coated with a layer of Mozzarella Cheese which held the sandwich together, and was topped with lettuce, tomatoes, pickled red onions, house sauce, and avocado. The Torta is a great option for those seeking something more traditional but still delicious. My partner and I are foodies and have traveled to different countries to try out their cuisines, but nowhere comes close to the amazing quality of the food and service at Gorilla Grill. All of the food we ate left us feeling great and refreshed for the rest of the day and had us thinking about what to order the next time we visit.

An update, visited this place again and again, the food is consistent! Great tasting food! The fish is battered in a unique batter, not greasy at all. The omelette was fantastic and huge, I wasn’t able to eat the whole thing. I am adding some more pictures. A great place to grab lunch and very reasonable prices! Food was great! They also serve breakfast throughout their hours. The Cajun shrimp with the sauce and grilled asparagus was fantastic! My daughter enjoyed her plate too. Very nice customer service during takeout.

A must try!! We stumbled upon the best breakfast in the RGV area so far. Delicious home cooked food, nice cozy place. The flour tortillas are super fresh and delicious…Like mom used to make !

This is the place where all the locals eat. It’s like Mayberry in here everybody knows everybody. The servers are friendly and fast. The food is delicious. Anything from Machacado to chicken fired steak. Down home cooking at its finest in the Rio Grande Valley..

I've been coming to eat at this restaurant for so many years like 23 years ago. The staff is so respectful, courteous, very attentive and professional. The food is so delicious and madly fresh, there's some meals that take a little more longer than usual but the wait is worth it. All the Tamez family are so nice I totally recommend everyone to go eat a great lunch or even better breakfast cause there's not a single day that everyday in the morning it's packed with people.

First time here and let me just say this was an amazing experience. Friendly staff and delicious food, I had their ocean east pho, east ocean egg rolls and shrimp/pork spring rolls. 10/10 no doubt about it, in my opinion spring rolls were better than egg rolls but both were really good; I ate everything. Food is made to order and you can definitely tell it’s freshly prepared with lots of love. I am definitely coming back.

Excellent first experience at East Ocean, instant favorite. The service is excellent, staff is friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable of their menu. Food is made FRESH, really liked all the items we ordered. Zero complaints on that department. I do have to highlight the iced coffee, it was superb, another instant favorite. The premises are clean and well kept. Definitely recommend and definitely coming back.

Food was delicious! My waitress was the sweetest. Always checked up on me asking if I needed anything. Very clean! The price was good especially for the amount of food they gave me. I have leftovers for dinner and lunch tomorrow.

We had a retirement celebration, and it was a great success. This is the second year we come here to celebrate. I called a week in advance to reserve an area, and it was all set up and ready to go. Initially I wanted the outdoor patio area , but I was told we had to spend at least $1200.00. Wasn’t going to happen. Our main server, Peter, was great! He was on top of everything from my perspective. He was so helpful and never showed any frustration or attitude. Thank you Peter, for all you did for our Hawaiian themed night. Food: it’s just good. My favorite item is an appetizer, Pork Belly tacos. Delish! The portion is just too small for sharing. Loaded fries don’t look loaded. Maybe they need to call them smothered. Still tasty. My friend ordered the pot roast. It lacked flavor and was dry, not juicy at all. Fried shrimp also just ok. Nachos: good. Green beans and French fries are very good. The drinks I ordered were on point. I never met a manager. Would have been nice to have someone who was in charge to check in with our party. I’ve seen that done in other restaurants, and it’s nice to know they are on top of it. Will I go again? You bet!

Shout out to Barrel House and our waitress Anita for the excellent service and scrumptious food! They really out did themselves. We celebrated my daughter's first communion, they prepared a special menu just for our party which included a beautiful Bible verse ❤️ We kept it simple, a burger and chicken fried chicken. The food was piping hot and delicious, can't say enough good things! (the food was so good even my daughter ate the green beans) Tip: order the nachos, they were a big hit before our meal! Our sweet waitress Anita kept our drinks filled the entire time, both alcoholic and non alcoholic! Thank you Anita and Barrel House for your 5 STAR SERVICE!! God bless your business.
