Stopped here for breakfast after a night in Dawson and was blown away! We all had different options and coffee choices and everyone was in awe at how delicious their choice was! Not to mention the ambiance was so lovely! Calm, and comfortable, with a nice little patio to sit outside if one wishes! Would recommend to anyone wanting a delicious breakfast with a beautifully made coffee.
I never dreamed to find 100% plant based cafe in Dawson City! I asked a ladle at Parks Canada Visitor Center if she would recommend coffee shops in town. We loved this place so much, we visited 3 times. All the baked goods were so delicious, and sandwich was as so so good!! Their Nanaimo Bars were our favorite. Coffee was also really good, it came in plastic free cup! I hope someday I can return to this cafe!
A wonderful experience and a great way to rejuvenate after exploring Yukon's beautiful nature. For 50$, you have access for 3 hours to the spa area, which includes a barrel sauna (my favourite), a hot tub, pool, steam room, infrared sauna, and cold plunge tub, as well as relaxation areas. You are provided with a locker to store your personal items and given a robe and 2 towels (no additional fees). There are showers to use ahead of the spa with shampoo/conditioner/body wash provided. Bathrooms/showers are single stalled and gender neutral, which is fabulous, and helped it feel like an inclusive space. Everything was quite clean. And the location on the rooftop, surrounded by the hills around town is pretty stellar. It was pretty quiet while we were there, which felt luxurious. Some of the heated saunas do require you to turn them on ahead of use, so it's a good idea to do a walk around and decide where you want to go next. You also need to be given a tutorial on how to use the cold plunge tub, but staff are friendly and were pretty quick in coming up once we signalled we were ready to try. Cafe menu available in the spa - the chickpea salad sandwich was stellar!

Well, I was only in "The Pit." Which is aptly named. Little door in the side of a pink hotel. Slanted floors. Mismatched tables. A few stools at a crooked bar. It's dark. There's no music. It's packed full of people. I think I want to live there! The drinks were good. Don't ask me what they cost. The locals & everyone else there were so friendly & welcoming I didn't even pay for one. I met so many fantastic people & had the best time I've had in years. I had some great conversations & met some fantastic & interesting people. If you can't squeeze your way in the door, just hang around outside. The people will come to you.
Great atmosphere and the locals are very welcoming. Staff are fantastic. Great place to sit and soak up some local vibes
One of a kind. It's been home town bar for 35 years

Great local singer, super friendly and fun ambiance. Sat down and were immediately included in the group next to us. Great place for an affordable drink. Really enjoyed it!
My ideal kind of bar. Total dive but nice. Bartender was awesome, prices were great, and truly a locals spot. Felt super comfy here and would happily return.
If you want to experience local vibe, this is where you go. Nothing fancy, the floor is sinking, the walls cover in stains and history, in short, not the cleanest place on earth, but people are having their best time. We ordered two shots of whiskey before we called it the night, both glasses flowed with a dead fly. Not sure if it’s their signature or simply unsanitary, we swallowed the flies with the liquor like we were doing the sour toe challenge

I was in Dawson City for a small wedding on August 14th (yes, I'm super slow doing my reviews but better late than never they say) & one of the planned activities was the Sour Toe Shot. Unfortunately, the captain was not in that night. However, the staff made accommodations & allowed us time for each wedding guest to get the opportunity to do the acclaimed shot! But our only option was the Yukon Jack whiskey... which was perfectly acceptable. I was a bit worried about shooting straight whiskey, honestly. But it turns out I shouldn't have been. It is DELICIOUS & doesn't "burn" at all like I expected it to. It's more a sweet taste, like a liqueur (I'll post a picture of the bottle). The toe is a bit "gnarly," though. It's black. And it doesn't look like a toe (it kinda looks like a dried up cat turd). But whatever, when in Rome....(or Dawson City).... I'm really glad I did the shot. It's a part of the whole Dawson City experience. I would recommend taking the time to do it! AND you get a certificate you can take home & frame. PS. Aug 14, 2024, we paid $16 per shot of Yukon Jack + the experience. We did not dine at this location, so I can't comment on the food. I already had my rental car parked at this location as I was staying at the Downtown.
We had 52 guest come in @ 3 pm today ( open up late) to do your sour toe drink challenge. We were told they were going to explain how they originally decided to do the toe. Instead took everyone shot order then money and made them stand in corner & capt. complained if we took a photo. The real kicker is we order two Tito’s vodka & tonic ( out of tonic) Then our vodka cranberry was weak. We went to get another drink only to be told another group is waiting no more drinks. I will not recommend this place & hope you enjoyed our donations! ( fyi $10 for a fermented toe, $10 for a shot. All to be done in corner & no crowd interaction). The capt wouldn’t even take our group photo with the ( flash was off). Disappointed Save your money and enjoy somewhere else! strictly a money pit! I will NOT be back!
This place is super hyped, but it’s worth it. Great vibe and fun experience. Good food and very nice service. The nachos were great - would definitely recommend.

I was so happy we decided on Sourdough Joe's for something to eat! I had the fish & chips. They had 3 options for fish: cod, halibut & salmon. They were out of halibut, so I opted for salmon & am I ever glad I did! It was AMAZING! It was so good we decided to go there 2 more times during our 5 day visit to Dawson City. We went back another day with the grandchildren (ages 4 & 2) & we got them the chicken fingers. One order was more than enough for the 2 kids. We also ordered a caesar salad, which was pretty good! The 3rd time we stopped there, I HAD to get the salmon again. The staff was pleasant, the service was good & it is kid friendly. There is lots of seating both inside & out. The washrooms were clean. I didn't really check out the parking situation, though. We were walking each time we visited the restaurant. It's DEFINITELY worth eating here! Good size portions. Speedy service, delicious food.
Spent a few days in town and found that this is definitely one of the best places to eat. The staff are great and so is the food.
Huge portions for price, but not very good I feel a little conflicted about Sourdough Joe's. We went at 4:30pm, so before the dinner rush and were greeted and seated promptly by friendly waitstaff. We ordered the 2 piece cod fish and chips and Yukon gold poutine, which comes with ham, mushrooms, mozzarella, and gravy. It was a long wait for having very few customers, but when the food did come, it was blazing hot and there was plenty of it. We were hungry, but if we'd known how huge the servings were, we probably would have ordered only one dish. The fish was pretty good. One piece was about the size of 2 normal sized pieces. The fries were greasy and not crispy. The coleslaw was strangely sweet, almost dessert-like, as was the tartar sauce. The poutine was just strange. The mushrooms were whole and appeared to be raw. Again, massive enough to feed two people with average appetites, but too salty and greasy to be very tasty. I felt bad for the waitstaff. Our lady said she was actually a carpenter just helping out because the owner was having a hard time finding anyone. She was very nice.

This boat is 100 years old and the tour was just great. The paddles located in the rear to protect them from debris in the water. It sits only 18 inches in the water. Good part of history saved for other people or younger generations to see.
The streamer was fascinating. We were privileged because no one else signed up so we got a private tour. Absolutely worth the gold.
Very well preserved and fascinating piece of history.

Ordered breakfast from here on a couple of occasions during our stay in Dawson. Not only was the food and drinks we ordered quite good, but the owner was very friendly. When he saw that I was interested in the wooly mammoth fossil on the wall that is thought to be 20,000 years old, he came to our table and told me the story behind the discovery.
This tiny restaurant stated that “we love surviving Dawson City”. It is true that they only love to serve Dawson City, not tourist. This morning we went to it for a simple breakfast. I was the latest one to enter the restaurant amount three of us. My partners already ordered breakfast for me and the foods were on the table. I directly walked to the service counter and asked for some hot water. They charged me for a dollar for a bottle of hot water plus tax. I told them I already spent over 45 dollars just on my table of three people. They said I used the machine to make hot water. And later on said that i used the service of the girls. The owner said that if you go to any restaurant everything is for a cost. I should pay tips for the service. We already paid 5 dollars tip for the ford we bought. This is a fast food style restaurant. They simply present you with the premade food. They don’t have any service at all. After all, they charged the so call tips to the girl with tax!!!! That’s totally ridiculous. Whole my life I go any restaurant to consume and I never asked for fees for a cup of hot water. This restaurant is the first one to claim a cup of hot water bearing cost after customer paid over 45 dollars services. The owner forgot that we are staying here for two days and will return from Arctic Ocean for another day. He lost two more 45 dollars of business for a dollar hot water.
Wonderful local cafe serving the best coffee & best breakfast in Dawson City, and it’s super popular too with both locals and tourists alike. Great for eat-in and take away. All the amazing sandwiches, panini, croissants, cookies and muffins are all made fresh daily - the owner starts baking & making them all at 3am daily. The Montreal Bun (similar to a Rueben) is just sensational. As is the Breakfast Croissant. And make sure you take a White Choc Macadamia Cookie away with you too - so delicious! Freshly brewed coffee and crafted espresso beverages are all excellent. If there’s a queue don’t worry it moves pretty fast, plus it’s definitely well worth the wait! There’s a large decked seating area at the front and down the side, and some indoor seating too. The walls are adorned with local art which is for sale. Staff are super friendly and lovely. Highly recommended!

Best food we had in Dawson and best meat we had in the north! Cute little Jamaican-style restaurant, very clean, with amazing and quick service and friendly staff. The jerked chicken was super tender and delicious. Would absolutely recommend and come back anytime!!
Incredible food! It was such a pleasant surprise finding such great Jamaican food here in Dawson City, but we’re very happy we did! Both my friend and I were very happy with our meals, and we’re grateful to Nico for his warm hospitality
What an amazing place! The chicken and pork were our favorites. They are so good that a group booked the entire restaurant for 5 days. When they reopen to the public and you are in the area, you must stop!!!!!

There is so much fun to be had at this place! Where do I start?! $20 to get in. But you only pay it once. Keep your card & you can show up every night & not pay again all season. The drinks are good. And fairly priced - rye & ginger, tall with a lime. $7. Reasonable! It's cash only. They accept Canadian & American cash. There is an ATM on site. 3 phenomenal cabaret shows per night. You can get your picture taken for free with the performers, too! Which is a nice keepsake. There is some food available. A couple of people I was with got a slice of pizza later in the evening & said it was "edible," but...if you're drinking & want something to eat... it's amazing! Haha Washrooms are super clean. As is the whole venue. Staff is friendly & efficient. Large parking lot out front. The place was packed each time we were there right from open (7pm) to close (1am). We were in Dawson City Aug 11 to 16. It was surprising how full it was during the week. We met a lot of very fun people from several locations around the world & had an amazing time! There are card tables & slot machines & some other things (I'm not a gambler, so I don't even know what they're called! Sorry!). Maybe roulette? The entire town of Dawson City is so historical & Diamond Tooth Gerties doesn't disappoint by boasting they are Canada's oldest gambling hall. When the lights come on & people start to leave, don't go back to your hotel. Follow the locals to a little hole in the wall they call "The Pit." But, that's another story.........
My wife and I had a lot of fun at Diamond Tooth's, which prides itself as Canada's oldest casino. While we didn't gamble (we came for one of their three nightly shows), we were impressed with the quality of the performance, with the leading female vocalist particularly strong. Note: Payment for drinks is cash only.
Worth every dollar. Stay for all 3 shows. They get better as the night goes on, with the midnight show rocking the place through the decades covering some all time favourites. Don’t forget, free water, tea and coffee, but the other drinks are reasonably priced anyway. Food from the High Roller Canteen is basic and don’t expect much of it. The cheap stuff is reasonable, the higher end stuff seems pricey, but either way, if you like food, have dinner somewhere before you go! Triple J’s across the street is an awesome option. The 8:30pm show attracted a full house and if you weren’t there by around 7:30pm, it’s standing room only. The crowd thins as the night goes on and there were spare tables for the 10pm show. By the midnight show there were lots of empty tables and chairs, but it is worth staying for. The midnight show is the best of the night and is worth waiting for! Well done guys! It must be hard to have such a large, complicated business in such a small, seasonal town, so kudos to the team!

This shop is amazing, a treasure trove of unique items, almost like a museum except you can buy things. The gentleman working the day we were in was super helpful and knowledgeable. Signed first edition Robert Service books and Jack London books. Everything from mosquito jackets to bear traps and everything in between - a must visit while in Dawson!!
Lots of nicknacks and intersting things. Bought these coins here
Interesting place. Not sure about them selling fur in ziploc bags or mammoth tusks with no measures of artifact preservation.

Went here for penultimate dinner on the last night of our Holland America Cruise Tour. Fully booked so had to book the day before. Best meal on the trip. As good as speciality dining on the Ship. Do go.
Okay, so.... I wish I had some pictures to share, but I don't. Well, maybe 1 or 2. My son's wedding dinner was at this restaurant. They booked the entire place for their wedding meal. It could not have been more PERFECT! The meal was served family style. 5 courses. $45 per person. It was worth every penny. Every dish was to die for. The staff was so accommodating. Friendly. Attentive. The atmosphere is nice. Quaint. There were approximately 20 adults (give or take) as well as 5 children all under the age of 5. They went out of their way to have something special for the kids! Little charcuterie cups! So cute! They have a good wine selection & the cocktails are not only delicious but quite beautiful! I cannot say enough good things about this place! They use local ingredients, which I think is amazing! Don't let the outside appearance of the establishment fool you. It is quite an unexpected upscale dining experience. Everything is plated beautifully & so full of flavor. Just go there. Probably now would be good.
We ate at the Bonton two years ago when we were in town on a trip and it was so incredible that when we decided plan our elopement/small wedding in Dawson City, it was a priority of ours to include dinner at the Bonton in the itinerary. Everything was absolutely incredible - the team was very communicative and incredibly easy to plan the private booking with and everything was very appropriately priced. The team did a fabulous job setting up the restaurant for our booking so we did not have any need to bring in our own decor - the ambience alone is perfect to begin with. The food for our event was absolutely incredible and there was such a reasonable amount. We did family style with a set menu and all of our guests left feeling incredibly satisfied. The drink menu is also perfection. When we first decided to eat at the Bonton 2 years ago, we read a review that this was the best restaurant in Canada. We were in full agreement with this 2 years ago and that has not changed in the slightest. If anything, the menu, team, and atmosphere at the Bonton without question has this restaurant in one of our top 5 through all of our international travels. It is without question a place that you must check out while in Dawson City.

We celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary here at the Aurora Inn Restaurant in Dawson City. It's a small town with only so many nice-ish places to eat. We chose it because it seemed on the slightly more nice-ish side of things and they had the accurately named "Meatless Dinner" on their menu so I knew I'd have something to eat as a vegetarian. The room is nice enough though not exactly a fine dining establishment. The service was great and our server was attentive and friendly. She even let me try a couple of the wines before picking the one I wanted to drink. My wife thought the Arctic Char she got - serviced with root vegetables topped with broccoli, and potatoes was good enough and a generous portion. The "meatless dinner" itself was a generous plate that included a house-made apple BBQ patty - cut up so it was more of a plate meal, whereas this patty is served as part of a BBQ sandwich as a vegetarian option. It was all good enough. No one panicked when the electricity went out for some reason. Although it wasn't, perse, the greatest meal we've had in our lives, it sustained us for the evening and was just about the only spot in town that had a dedicated vegetarian plate. (That was open on a Wednesday night.)
The food was very good and I enjoyed the creative drink menu. I had the ribs, my wife had the pulled pork, and my son had the steak, which he is still saying was the best steak he has ever had.
Pleasant and clean atmosphere, very good service, our food was very good.
