Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Danville – 2024

Ever since covid, the service at restaurants has been hit or miss. Today was an exception to the rule. Our server CRYSTAL not only exceeded our expectations at our table but at the other tables that she was waiting on. She is absolutely an asset to this restaurant and should be commended. The food was excellent and the staff was outstanding. This will definitely be a business that we will support often.

We have always had the best service here. Food serving size is great! Very reasonably priced. And don't forget the cakes for desert- look when you walk in.

We eat here often, but tonight we walked in at 8:25pm knowing they were closing at 9pm. They kindly served us with extra everything and even to go cups. They did not rush us and even told us to be safe on our drive home in the rain. Wonderful food and excellent service always! Highly recommend

We visited the Casino and after leaving, we were searching for a nearby place to dine. We stumbled upon the Culture Restaurant and had a pleasant experience. The staff members were exceptionally courteous, and the food was delicious. The rustic appearance of the building added to its charm. We would definitely consider returning to this establishment.

Stopped in for food and drinks after riding the River Walk. It was one of the only places open downtown Sunday afternoon. Well worth the stop. Justin and his team visited with us and made us feel like regulars. Culture is there on the menu and on the walls. Enjoyed looking at the art and learning the history of the building. We'll be back - and know where we're ending our ride next time.

Visited for the first time with a family party. They were not ready. They modified the menu without telling us in advance. The pric es were too high for cold entrees and we were not aware that we would have to go up two flights of steps with several seniors. The food was good rhougg and the waitresses were good. I think they did their best with what they had. But I would not recommend for large groups.

Had the salad bar which at a glance looked pretty slim of picking but was told by waitress they would fill it up-- while I waited for my small 2 ingredient pizza-- salad selections werent filled - but I managed to get a few cucumber pieces with lettuce and dressing. Very disappointing. they don't do a small something for birthdays at all ..it was my sons birthday -- nothing. The food wasn't worth the wait or price.

I went here with my family to grab some takeout and OMGOSH! I can't find enough good things to say. The personality of everyone working was great! Amazing customer service! Excellent and hilarious description of items on the menu when asked! The salad bar was well stocked, very fresh and the dressings were SO GOOD! I ordered the chicken and spinach ravioli in Alfredo sauce and I fell in LOVE with my food! My son got chicken tenders and the fries were perfection. The honey mustard was definitely made in house and tasted phenomenal. My husband got the Italian sub and it was HUGE! I am so pleased with every bit of the experience! I will be going back again and again!

The pizza crust was dry and hard like a pizza that has been sitting out all night. It would have been okay as a thin crust, but the thick, hand-tossed sides made it unpleasant to eat. The chicken on the BBQ Chicken pizza was bland and tasted like it had been boiled in brine. It may have been canned chicken. Overall, the pizza lacked seasoning. I kept feeling like something was missing from the taste. I think it was probably garlic.

This diner speaks for itself in terms of service, there was a very large crowd when we went. The waitress was lovely, personable, and attentive. Even though they were a little behind, we never felt put off as she was coming by regularly with updates and refills. The food was good, much like many diner foods you find. I had the omelet, which was a tad bit thin and I had wished for more because it tore so easily I couldn't really get a good bite, but I couldn't really complain with how busy they were. Its really a no-frills type of place, but the food is good and hot and the service was great--I would recommend it.

We went to Walkers today because we heard it was a great Sunday spot. Sunday is a big football day, yet no football showing on the few tvs. The servers were friendly with smiles. I ordered chicken fried chicken, my husband ordered chicken tenders. It took FIFTY minutes for our food to come out from the kitchen, then we were ignored by staff. The chicken was delicious, the sides were not. I wish our experience today would have been better.

The name on the building is Walker's not Buck's. The food was excellent! Our server was great! It took our food 45-50 minutes to come out ‍♀️. We ordered straight from the menu, and there was no special order. The food was worth the wait, though.

I'm visiting from out of state, I came across this place and even though I make a point not to go to the same place more than once when traveling I've been to this place 3 times. The food selection is good, but not great, however the quality of the food is amazing., but honestly I'm here for the brown ale they have on tap and the service of the bartender. He was great! friendly, attentive and shows up at your table just enough. He has remembered me after my first visit and knows my dink. I strongly suggest you give it a shot.

Golden Leaf was a delightful surprise! The food was absolutely delicious, and the restaurant, though small with just eight tables, provided a cozy atmosphere perfect for dining with family. Lea, our waiter, was superb—everything was prepared just right. I will definitely be back!

The $5 mimosas/Bloody Mary at brunch is a good deal, but the rest of the menu is overpriced for what you get. The eggs in the Eggs Benedict were overcooked for poached, and there was very little hollandaise sauce. Since they were ordered vegetarian there was no ham but they could have added spinach or at least been a bit more generous with the sauce. Cute atmosphere and service was friendly.

Though the menu is full of options, the seafood boils are what I really come for. I like getting the mixture of seafood, potatoes, corn on the cob, and sausage. I enjoy the different sauce, seasoning, and degrees of spicy available. Good beer specials let me kick back a bit without breaking the bank. This restaurant is appropriately priced, and is not where you go for a cheap date. The food is fresh and we aren’t near the ocean, so that comes with a cost. It has become a go-to for birthday celebrations with the family and taking clients out for dinner who aren’t in the mood for a steakhouse. The interior is suitably designed for a seafood joint. A bit corny, but it works for overall impressions. Though pricey, this restaurant is not fancy (I mean that positively). I’ve been known to go in jeans, work attire, or even after the gym if I didn’t feel like changing. I was not out of place on any occasion. No service issues to speak of but I’ve never been when it has been slammed. I’m always greeted upon entering and my table service has never left me wanting. I’m giving five stars, not because it’s the best meal I’ve ever had, but because it matches my expectations every visit. I’ve been a very satisfied customer each visit and the experience has become predictable, which I prefer.

I recently visited Red Crab Juicy Seafood and had a rather mixed experience that left me with a lot of thoughts to share. Let's start with the positives. The food was decent, though nothing exceptional. I found the seafood to be fresh, but the preparation lacked the flavor and creativity I was hoping for. Overall, I’d rate the food 3 out of 5 stars. It was okay, but not something that would make me rush back for more. As for the atmosphere, I appreciated the effort they put into creating a lively environment, especially with the karaoke setup. The concept of having karaoke was fun and could be a great time for those who enjoy singing or watching others perform. However, the execution could use some refinement. While the idea is cool, the karaoke was unnecessarily loud, making it difficult to have any conversation or fully enjoy our meal. It was almost as if the volume was cranked up to an uncomfortable level, which detracted from what could have been an enjoyable experience. I'd give the atmosphere 3 out of 5 stars. One of the highlights was the beer. The $2 draft beer was a great deal, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It was nice to have a cold, refreshing beer at such an affordable price, especially considering how expensive drinks can be at similar places. This aspect added a bit of value to the overall experience. Unfortunately, where the experience really fell short was the service. The waitress who served us was notably rude to my wife, which was disappointing. Not only did she seem disinterested in providing a welcoming experience, but she also made us feel rushed, as if she was more interested in turning over the table than ensuring we had a good time. This left a sour taste in our mouths, and I have to give the service 2 out of 5 stars. Hospitality is a crucial part of dining out, and it’s a shame when it’s lacking. Overall, while there were some aspects of the visit that I enjoyed, such as the affordable beer and the potential for a fun atmosphere, the overall experience left much to be desired. I hope the management takes this feedback into consideration, as the restaurant has potential but needs to make some improvements, especially in terms of service and managing the volume of entertainment.

Loved this place ! Prices were fair, and seafood was really good. We ordered a mixture of crab, lobster,crawfish, and mussels. The butter garlic seasoning on it was so yummy! I ordered a pink starburst drink which was pretty good too. Sweet, but good.

Loved this little breakfast & lunch spot while traveling for work. All the servers were very nice and the food was good. The atmosphere is very “old school” in a good way. Almost like a well preserved moment in time. Nice meal for your dollar and nothing was outrageously overpriced.

Finding good breakfast can be wearisome for the traveler. Ruben’s fits the bill. Great food (especially the sausage gravy) at an affordable price with easy access and a happy waitstaff. Definitely a must when in Danville, VA.

If you are looking for inexpensive good food, then this is the place. Nothing fancy, sandwiches are served wrapped in paper (no plates). Possibly the best onion rings that I've ever had. Sometimes they get really busy, and note that it's "seat yourself".

This was our 3rd time visiting this wonderful place! The food was fantastic, drinks were wonderful! We were offered special holiday drinks which we tried! Awesome!!! If you want a great place to dine, this is it. I even took the time to thank the chef. We will be back again in 4-6 weeks again. We live 5 hours away so each time back, we are here. Thanks everyone. My wife and I had a fantastic dining experience at Cotton at Riverside Mill. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a great balance of casual elegance. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. As for the food, I had the Brussels sprouts and meatballs, and they were an absolute hit. The Brussels sprouts were crispy and seasoned to perfection, while the meatballs were tender and flavorful, with a sauce that brought everything together wonderfully. My wife had the smashed burger, and she couldn’t stop raving about it. The burger was juicy, perfectly cooked, and came with a side that complemented it beautifully. Overall, Cotton at Riverside Mill exceeded our expectations. The food quality, ambiance, and service all contributed to an outstanding dining experience. Whether you’re looking for a casual bite or something a bit more refined, this place delivers. We’ll definitely be back!

Had and appetizer, dinner and drinks. I had a Mahi Mahi special and my husband had the salmon. We shared the truffle fries and enjoyed those as well. I started with a paper plane cocktail but didn’t quite like it so went the the old fashioned. That was much better. My husband had the pain killer but then also switched to the old fashioned. Nice atmosphere and the service was great. Will return when we are in town.

Came by on a weekday lunch, and it was very quiet with only a couple of other people in the restaurant. This place is definitely more on the casual end, and there aren't any actual servers. I ordered at the register and got my food pretty quickly - I ordered the Bang Bang Chicken and Chorizo, which was good! The portions were absolutely huge, and I had enough to bring home a good amount of food. The rice itself isn't great without the sauce, but is quite good with it.

Casual dining area with plenty of indoor and a couple of outdoor seating. Walked in and was greeted by two friendly people (likely the owners). I ordered the cajun fried catfish sandwich ($10.16) which is their best seller. Very good! Fresh fried catfish that isn't too oily. I would get it again, perhaps at least once a week if I lived in the area. Fast service! I got my sandwich to go.I'll be back again next time I'm in the area.

Friendly atmosphere. The food was excellent. We got chicken and waffles. The waffles taste like they had vanilla in them.

It’s sad when you actually get delicious food!! Bison burger was amazing!! Sweet potato salad was tasty!! I think I would have liked it warm better!! Food was well seasoned. Great variety of beer!! Waitress was friendly and very attentive. Atmosphere was awesome (we sat upstairs)! Will be back!! Desserts looked amazing!!

All around definitely 5 Stars! The food was delish! This was my first time visiting Me's Burgers. The sweet potato (potato) salad was so good. It wasn't a dessert but a side. The burgers we're unique and amazing! I can't remember what it's called but it had pimento cheese, grilled onions, bacon jam & romaine lettuce (hold the tomato) on it and I had only planned to eat half because it was so big however slowly I finished the entire burger. I had to! It was that good! I only had water so I can't rate the adult drinks but they had a large selection behind the bar. The staff was nice, friendly and extremely helpful in choosing which burger to order. We had a great conversation with the owner. We're from outside of Lynchburg and he was very familiar with the area. We enjoyed it so much I asked him to open a Me's Burger in Lynchburg! Definitely visit! You won't be disappointed!

Found this place off the internet. My husband had the Louise Penny burger with fries. I had the Mitch Steele burger & sweet potato salad. We both agreed my selection was better. Mmmm bacon jam. The sweet potato salad is more like a mousse but oh so tasty. Our server Vanessa was adorable, effervescent & efficient. The establishment had a great outdoor patio overlooking a fountain. The patio also had oversized fans which would make eating outdoors doable. Don't know if it was cleaning day but the indoors smelled like cleaning products.

First I'd like to give a compliment to Michele, our waitress. She did an awesome job seeing to our order was correct and her friendly personality was a big plus!! The atmosphere was good but nothing really stands out to me. Now the food was wonderful. Fall off the bone ribs, humongous Stromboli with great taste, the same with the spaghetti. Everything was very fulfilling. We will be back.

They didn't have the drink I wanted they offered me a lemonade whiskey concoction that turned out to be carbonated I've never heard of lemonade or whiskey being carbonated but okay it did not taste good. Then my calamari seemed soft and good except it tasted like it was fried in the same thing as onion rings. The menu gave you a cross from seafood with a red sauce and a seafood with fettuccine I ordered seafood with fettuccine and it basically tasted like someone had accidentally put it in red and tried to rinse off some of it and then put fettuccine sauce on it. My husband said the burger was good though. So there's that.

First time here. It was pick your seat. Took a bit to get a server. Wait was short for food. Food was spot on. Had to ask for refills, but other than that good experience. Restaurant was super clean and wood eat more often if in the area . Mike the owner was over the top.

Love this place. If the food has the name "Birria" in it, it is absolutely amazing. The Birria pizza especially is really good. We are here at 5pm and were the onky people eating in. Food took less than 10 minutes to come out. We got steak tacos and torta bañada (Mexican bbq sub) Waitress was really nice and didn't rush us at all. The steak tacos are also really good. As someone who prefers pork and chicken vastly over steak, it's still very delicious. Everything was seasoned and sauced well.

Just I went alone in this place , restaurant was not busy in morning 10 am , I ordered veg burritos in this place , a compliment they give a soup which is salty , I did not complaint about the soup , because burritos taste was amazing , I enjoyed it , my total charge is 17$

Didn’t see much for vegetarians on the menu but they made a rice dish with veggies and cheese that was fabulous! Also loved their beans and rice sides. Birria tacos and birria quesadilla are incredible! Chicken burrito was delicious! Authentic and yum!

This place has authentic food. The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous handcrafted chairs, all colorfully designed. Another unique part about this restaurant is all of the servers also are bartenders. That’s right no waiting for drinks.

Great service, cool atmosphere and really good food. Chips with salsa was perfect, cheese dip and guacamole dip was great. Shrimp fajitas were awesome. Evelyn was friendly and attentive! Margarita special on Wednesday was extra special.

Came to Danville for business and were recommended to go here for dinner. Food and service were exceptional. The manager Josue and all employees were super friendly. I highly recommend this place, in particularly their mixed fajitas. Will definitely repeat when back in town

Food was really good. I'm not a fan of the seafood dip but it definitely had plenty of seafood. The steak was cooked perfectly. The waitress did a great job and the drinks were definitely tasty. I would definitely recommend this please. Just maybe not the seafood dip.

Great place when you want some yummy Mexican in a great atmosphere. This was my first time at this local restaurant. I was visiting the area and had an opportunity to stop in, it was a good dining experience for lunch. Amazing serving size and it was so good and fast. Overall a perfect little spot for great prices, The staff was great and the restaurant was very clean. I would definitely recommend it.

A group of us went, I hadn’t been in a long time. The food was okay!! I left my food on the table. Everyone was upset because we wanted Buffalo Wild Wings but they were packed so someone chose this place. We thought because it’s a Mexican restaurant the food would be the Bomb…boy was we SURPRISED!!! We never eat here again. It was our Friend Lisa Birthday!!!

Very welcoming management! I recently moved to Danville and have found a place where I can nerd out and make new friends! Not only is the food perfect for the setting, but Dungeons and Dining also offers a community atmosphere which allows you to play D&D, MTG, and Pokémon with old friends and new. They also offer many TVs where you can relax and play video games (or even tabletop games) with your friends. 10/10

We stopped in to buy some MTG items. Although their selection was very small, my son was able to find a card he wanted. The sales girl was very nice and helpful. I did not visit the dining/gaming side, so I am unable review it.

10/10 recommend! GREAT food and AMAZING customer service!! Great place to eat and play games!
