I recently had dinner at The River Restaurant in Woodstock and found it to be an average experience. Upon entering, I noticed that the restaurant has two sides: to the right is a family-oriented dining area that felt very bright and lacked atmosphere, with a few dirty tables that could use some attention. On the left, the bar area had a much better vibe, making it more inviting. The service was satisfactory, though I did have to wait quite a while for both drinks and my meal. I ordered the fish and chips, but the haddock was a bit dry, and the tartare sauce was quite bland. The prices seemed a little on the higher side for what I received. Overall, while it wasn’t a standout dining experience, it is a decent option considering the limited choices available in Woodstock. If you’re looking for a place to eat, you might find something you enjoy here, but I’m not in a rush to return.
