Yamato’s in Tullahoma offers a solid dining experience with some highlights worth mentioning. The beef tips in the hibachi were cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. However, I did request extra soft vegetables, and unfortunately, the broccoli was still quite tough. The hibachi sauce was a bit lacking in flavor, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the spring rolls were delicious—definitely one of my favorites. My husband enjoyed his California roll, while my crunch roll, which I added cream cheese to, could have used a bit more flavor. Thankfully, a drizzle of spicy mayo and eel sauce helped elevate it. The side salad served with the hibachi was generous, a pleasant surprise compared to the smaller portions at Yamato’s in Dechard. My husband loved his miso soup, as usual. The service was impressive; our waitress was friendly and attentive, even sharing cooking tips for vegetables at home. Overall, the ambiance of the restaurant is pleasing, and while there were a few misses with flavor, the positive aspects and great service make me eager to return and explore more of their menu.
