The restaurant is specialty is that it is a 🍲 Restaurant
We arrived at 2:30, a family on vacation. Maybe three other parties present, not busy. We ordered a burger, pizza and a salad. Our waitress did not return after taking our order and giving one pour of water. After 30 minutes we asked another staff person about our order and we were told it would be another 10 minutes, and given a pitcher of water without ice and with a fly in it. Two cooks exited the kitchen, one ate a meal and chatted with the bartender. We waited another 30 minutes and were not served. Running low on time to get to a ticketed show (which we missed), we again asked about our meal and whether or not we should just leave. The original waitress (who never returned) had acted exasperated by my simple French (I’m a native English speaker from the States with conversational French skills from my Canadian family). Given the wait and indifference we were shown, I had to wonder if they were refusing to serve us as Americans. I had heard that this can happen in interior Quebec but never experienced it. The bartender then said in English, “Oh, you want to leave? We’ll cancel the order.” It was hard to explain to my 7 and 9 year old kids why after an hour they still didn’t have their pizza.
