We recently visited The Fisherman restaurant, which was recommended by a YouTuber, so we decided to head there for lunch without checking any reviews in advance. We simply trusted the recommendation. We arrived just before 1 p.m., and when we opened the door, the restaurant was almost completely empty. For a moment, we thought it might be closed. Just as we were about to leave, we noticed a table with diners and, upon further inspection, spotted a few staff members on the far side of the room. After confirming the restaurant was open, we decided to stay. As for the meal itself, if I had to sum it up, I’d say the restaurant lacked any distinctive local flavor. You wouldn’t know you were in a seaside town known for lobster, as there was nothing special about the dishes we tried. We ordered the well-known fried oysters, the famous lobster roll, and classic fish and chips—typical for a seafood spot. The oysters were incredibly fresh, but beyond that, nothing stood out. However, the IPA beer, which was locally brewed, was excellent and left a lasting impression.
