Belinda’s Dining Room - Harper St

We were here 2 different mornings for breakfast while also staying in the Westmark Hotel where Belinda’s is located. We’re vegetarians and although there were options for us in terms of eggs, potatoes, pastries, and fruit, the cost of the buffet which had lots of meat options felt like a lot for what we were getting…especially since it was basic breakfast items, eggs and potatoes for us. The eggs were fine. The potatoes were not great. The coffee was definitely a disappointment hovering around the “browned water” category. Coffee at any place that serves breakfast should be a star of the meal and more thought should go into how it is prepared and offered. There was a more creative egg option but unfortunately for us, it had ham in it so we couldn’t eat it. We had hoped to take advantage of the a-la-carte menu but, unfortunately, the hotel had a labor shortage and they weren’t able to staff up with chefs to prepare that existing menu. So all in all it was a disappointing dining experience. Tip for anyone using a breakfast voucher as part of a tour…we were given one to use when we arrived at the hotel, fairly early in the morning. We would have rather used that the next morning when we were leaving the hotel without time to go out into the town. That first morning we would have loved to not have breakfast here and explore some of the many other places in town that specialize in breakfast for what would have probably been a better experience. The staff were all around very nice and eager to please.
