Very much enjoyed dining in here for a weekend lunch. I came across Mandola’s on an Eater/similar list and wanted to try it out. Heads up, this restaurant is cafeteria style: order, then eat yourself and your food will be brought to your table. There is outdoor as well as indoor seating (a main section in the centre and a second section through an archway on the side). There is also bar seating by the bar near the entrance. We got their garlic bread with mozzarella cheese and absolutely loved it. Their house bread served with spiced olive oil (complimentary) was so-so, nothing special. For vegetarians, there is one spaghetti option, one ravioli option, and one vegetarian Panini. I got the spaghetti Ortolano and definitely enjoyed it – thin spaghetti with lots of veggies and flavoured, simply with basil, onion, garlic, and olive oil. Others in our party, got the chicken Panini and the beef brisket which were also good. We finished with gelato (which you order separately at the gelato counter) – their straticella (vanilla with shards of delicious dark chocolate) is so good! They let us pick two flavours in the small size, which is perfect for one person. The atmosphere in the restaurant is loud and lively – leisurely lunch, catching up with friends. The outside seating overlooks a sizable kids play area. Overall, I had a decent lunch at Mandola’s, and it is definitely worth dining here, at least once to try it out.
