Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Bloomington – 2024

First time visitor. Loved the ambiance and service was great. Tried several things. The fried mozzarella was underwhelming and way overpriced. The bread, particularly the foccacia, was delicious and made in house. The Cajun Alfredo rigatoni was really good. My wife chose the pizza. Pizza was ok. Wedge salads were awesome, and the lobster corn chowder, while light on lobster, was tasty. All in all a great experience and we will be back to try other menu items as well.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Biaggi Restaurant, and I cannot say enough about the fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. Our waitress, Rachel, was truly exceptional. She greeted us with a bright smile and made us feel welcomed right away. Her attentiveness and genuine care for our dining experience were evident throughout the entire evening. Rachel provided excellent recommendations, explained the featured items and her knowledge of the menu was impressive. Every dish was perfectly timed, and her attention to detail was impeccable. The food at Biaggi was simply outstanding. Each course was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.

We had a great experience there. We knew that a storm was coming, but the restaurant kindly held it back until we were seated (way to go!). Whenever we go out to eat, the first thing we look for is if they have gluten free options. Not only does this restaurant have gluten free options, but they have a separate menu that is on the same paper and the same finish as their main menu, thus welcoming us as real people! The restaurant is large and we had to wait a few minutes. It has a high ceiling and a slightly more formal atmosphere. We started with their gluten free crab cakes (you read that right: freekin' gluten free crab cakes!). Our taste buds experienced a rebirth, a transformation. There were two cakes and two of us. Since I love my wife and she loves me, we each had one (though I caught her trying to sneak a few friends from my plate). After the wait staff allowed us time to process what was done for our palates, or pizza came. We ordered the meat lovers pizza (bacon, sausage, pepperoni, and more meat). The pizza sauce didn't extend to the edge, but that's a minor thing. The gluten free crust was a cauliflower crust. Verdict: damned delicious!

Tried this restaurant on our way to St.Louis. The food was awesome. We started off with Honey I’m home and bloody Mary. Drinks were fantastic. We then had hummus, veg fried dumplings, chicken wings and Pork belly bowl. The food was fresh snd delicious. I loved the hummus whereas my husband loved both the wings and the bowl. The service was great. The server was warm and super attentive. We sat outside which was cute. They have plenty of space both inside and outside. The parking was easy as they have a public lot next to the restaurant. I would recommend this place! GIVE IT A TRY!!

I can't say enough good things about this place Excellent food, amazing cocktails and superior service. I had their chicken breast which was delicious. I also.sampled a few cocktails and was quite impressed. The house punch is a particular favorite. Save room for dessert and try the creme brulee

The nigiri sushi was average prep but top quality ingredients. The sushi roll was outstanding. Top quality ingredients and the flavor combination was balanced perfectly. The mega roll is a mega success. The steak was, again, top quality, but no real flavor aside from beef, nothing to counter point that perfect slab of flesh. The pretzel bun appetizer was truly tasty. Both cheese and mustard sauce are extraordinary. The service was above and beyond. I can't say enough about the hustle, competency and friendliness of the staff. If you want best quality ingredients go here. There are some very flavourful items on the menu but others are very plain.

It's a beautiful yet casual setting with great service and amazing food. So many delicious sounding things are on the menu, so it was tough to choose. Went with the halibut and was not disappointed. Cooked perfectly and beautifully seasoned. The roasted potatoes were the perfect complement. They had an acoustic band playing during dinner, and, unfortunately, they were not very good, which impacted the overall enjoyment of the meal.

This was our first visit to Rob DOB’s and we were not disappointed. My family enjoyed the Oktoberfest menu to its fullest. The only negative note was that two of the specialty Oktoberfest beers were sold out on the day we visited. They did have a wonderful apple cider mule to take the place of one of the beers, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The burger i ordered was thick and done perfectly. The atmosphere is calm and quiet. My friend's salad had a nice variety of greens and looked very tasty.

Been a while……..and, I’m sorry it has been that long. We went for lunch and got right in. Server was doing things with good timing. The potato soup is really good! I tried a new thing to me called the Bloomin Chicken. I was pleasantly surprised. Co-diner had a bowl of the potato soup and loved it. We’ll need to work this into our rotation more often.

The experience was very good. We were greeted by the hostess ooening the door and giving us a big welcoming smile. Our server was Stephanie and she gave us great customer service. She went above and beyond, returning and checking on how we were doing? Kyle was our expediter and also provided great customer service. The food was hot, fresh and tasty. Loved the blooning onion ,, lettuce wedge, and mac and cheese. However, I was disappointed that they were out of the BBQ chicken bites. So I ordered the cheese burger . Unfortunately I was surprised that it was made from an inferior cut of beef, and had that "cheap beef" after taste. All in all itwas a very pleasant late lunch. Also the fresh warm bread was a nice addition. Two hostesses opened the door as we exited and thanked us for choosing Outback Steakhouse.

Ordered the current special outback 8oz sirloin medium rare with French fries, potato soup, lobster tail, and my daughter ordered the Joey sirloin and fruit. The food was good. Servers are very polite and responsive. The owner, Taylor, is great. If you have any issues, they take care of the customer in a good manner. They want you wanting to come back. It's always nice to have great customer service! Highly recommend them.

This place is great for a date. The food is delicious, the service is good. The only thing i think they should change is I the size of the non-alcoholic coctels. They are too small for the price. Everything else is great.

It has a great atmosphere and a place to go for all moments. The food, especially the pizzas, is the best

My dining experience at Anju Above tonight was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, I was captivated by its elegance. Service was prompt; we were seated quickly, and our server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. For starters, I indulged in the Fried Veggie Dumplings and a Yellowfin Tuna Hand Roll. The fried dumplings were a true delight, perfectly crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor. They paired wonderfully with the tangy pickled vegetables on top. As for the hand roll, it was a taste sensation. The yellowfin tuna practically melted in my mouth. Moving on to the main course, I was thoroughly impressed with the Pork Belly Ramen. The pork belly was exceptionally flavorful and tender, adding a richness to the dish. What truly elevated the ramen experience was the side of sweet and spicy sauce, which, when added to the broth, turned the dish into something extraordinary. The soft-boiled egg was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right, while the mushrooms added a depth of flavor that left me craving more. Overall, my dining experience at Anju Above exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their enticing menu options.

We get carry out here once every week or two. The app works well, the curbside delivery process is painless, and important for someone living a half hour out of town, the food is packed well to travel. The food is good quality, prepared well, and pretty consistent. Everyone is fine when things go well, but what really makes a place stand out is how they handle it when things don't go well. Tonight my carry out order wasn't quite right. The problem doesn't matter; what matters is that the manager I spoke with (Dave, I think - I'm bad at names) was personable, sounded genuinely apologetic and went above expectations to make it right. Everyone makes mistakes occasionally, and I really appreciate how they handled it here. So I'll definitely be back. If you like Olive Garden in general, this is a particularly good one to visit.

I loved this specific restaurant. Why? Because my family and I had the most amazing service, and the food was just as you would see in commercials.

Staff is excellent, very attentive and friendly. Personable group who definitely care about their customers and take pride in the work they do. Great IPA, ice cold and tasty. I will say I stayed next door at the Doubletree as I'm here for business and when I walked in I was literally the only customer on NFL Sunday at 3:00 in the afternoon. Big red flag. I had a side salad, love their ranch by the way, however the Reuben was brutal. Somehow it was incredibly flavorless. The corned beef or pastrami has zero flavor, was chewy and just not what I have experienced in the past. Have a feeling the meat was either reheated, old, or just very low quality. Thankfully they don't put a lot of meat on it although it is relatively pricey. Easy, usually tasty sandwich was very poorly executed. I'm thinking old ingredients that should have been discarded a long time ago.

Stopped by in a hurry to get to a concert. They knew and took care of us as quickly as possible. Staff was awesome, food was amazing. Loved the atmosphere. Definitely will be returning!

I came here on the recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed! I had the Wasabi Ranch Burger with homemade potato chips. The burger was juicy and flavorful and the chips were crunchy and made better with a side of barrel sauce (flavored sour creamMy server Brittany was great. I live out of state but will have to come back the next time I'm in the area.

Good service. The famous tenderloin sandwich was funny. The breading on it was crispy and good. Not too much flavor. I had the Sunday fried chicken meal, it also had no flavor so I asked for hot sauce. Mozzarella sticks were my favorite, and seemed homemade. The corn fritters were good, I may have not read the description completely, they were covered in powdered sugar, I wouldn't have ordered that had I known.

I tasted my first Buffalo Wing at Scooners 37 years ago. The restaurant has not changed much but the wings have. The wings used tho be small crunchy tender and well seasoned . Now the wings are large chewy and under cooked. Next time I will have the chicken salad sandwich. The cocktails where good tha onions fantastic . I do love this place and you will too.

HUGE pork tenderloins! The experience was fun. The place was kinda homey and little town cozy. The staff help you feel welcomed and safe. Despite all the pizzazz, I thought the tenderloin itself was too thin to really have any flavor. But we went for the fun of the experience so that didn't really matter to me at the time.

Dine in on Wed and Thursday. This place is incredible. Back for the first time in a few years traveling to Bloomington for work, and it is still the best Thai restaurant I have been to. This place is a gem that could thrive if you place it anywhere on the planet. Be sure to get something with wide noodle like Pad Kee Mow. The noodles are made in house and they achieve a texture and char on the noodles that is unparalleled. If you are looking for sugary Americanized “Thai food”, this may not be for you, although I am sure they can accommodate that palate as well. But if you are looking for thoughtful, authentic flavors, with awesome service, look no further. Thai House of Bloomington is a national treasure and should be celebrated. Stop in, go outside your comfort zone, try something new and leave happy!

Excellent food, and fast, friendly service. We had the Pad Kee Mao and the Green Curry. Both were delicious. The staff went above and beyond expectation to ensure that we were well taken care of!

Great food with nice sized portions! Thai house has an excellent selection of dishes. They prepared our food quickly.

We held the rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Baxter’s and could not be more pleased with our decision! Paige was super easy to work with over email and even made time to meet with us in person. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The space was perfect for our number of guests and the staff hosting our event were very professional and helpful. We also had a cash bar which worked perfectly for our guests. The staff took lots of pictures of our group and went above and beyond! We are so happy we chose Baxter’s for our rehearsal dinner and highly recommend them!

Filet mignon is a fantastic choice here. Comes with a nice house demi sauce. Asparagus was cooked nicely! Baxter salad was delicious! Garlic mashed potatoes were nice! Bread pudding words can not describe how delicious it was! Different drink special every night. Millionaire margarita is amazing! Pork chop was delicious, but mine, however, was cut tapered and was overdone on one half. Service was fast and very attentive.

Great food options and quality at reasonable prices. The bar menu and quality of drinks is very strong as well. The layout of the restaurant is kind of broken into multiple areas so your dining experience could vary depending on where you sit. Overall this is a really great choice and I will plan to return.

We stopped in for lunch. This was my wife's first time here, She had the chicken and dumplings, and they were a bit chewy. The sauce was perfect. The chicken was two big chunks and unseasoned. The corn bread was average, and the biscuit was fluffy, I had seasoned chicken, and it was cooked perfectly. The mac n cheese was perfectly cooked and creamy, and the potato casserole was amazing. The gift shop was a bit over whelming because it was the entrance and the exit and people were paying for their food while people looked around it got crowded

Fabulous experience. Waitress was great. I had the turkey special. Turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, and cornbread were very good. Loved the lemonade, too, as it's pucker full. Kids had burgers and fries. Other one chicken fingers and fries with corn bread. Waitress was very attentive and took good care of us. Great meal reasonable prices food quality was good!

Cracker Barrel is always delicious and the grandma’s sampler is my go-to meal! The food is yummy and the wait staff is always so kind! Their pancakes are unmatched compared to others.

We were fortunate to secure a parking space almost directly in front of the Brass Pig. With a craving for BBQ, we decided to give the Brass Pig a try, and we are pleased that we did. Our seating was prompt, drinks arrived quickly, and we placed our order without delay after making our selections. We shared the nachos and a chicken sandwich, but only managed to finish the fries and most of the nachos. The food was exceptional, and we certainly intend to return. The prices were very reasonable too. Although this restaurant was not initially on our list, it deserves a spot on yours if you find yourself in Bloomington. #route66

Very unassuming exterior, we almost drove right by it. Not lit very well and we got there at 7:30pm. Free parking was available but you have to pay attention to the signs. Interior matched the outside. Hostess was nice and friendly. Place was mostly empty (except at the bar) so we got seated right away. Waitress was very friendly as well. Simple food menu that was clearly laid out but I felt lacked selection. The beer selection was more ample (they're on the Untappd app). I order a stout which came in a can and no glass. Wife ordered a Mule which was lacking. Table was unsteady but clean, and utensils had fair amounts of soap residue on them which was disappointing. The men's bathroom was in desperate need of cleaning and hand soap. I ordered a half rack of ribs and wife ordered the Cuban which took 23 minutes to get. In the meantime, a server stopped by twice to give us someone else's food. Not sure if they were new or if they're in need of a table numbering system. But get this: The food arrived and it was was BANGIN'! Totally threw us off. We did not expect that quality of cooking to come from a place like that. Portions were good and the meat was well done. Sides were average in my opinion, but the meal absolutely saved the experience, even when they tried to give to someone else, lol. No wetnaps, only paper napkins. Meal with drinks was $47. We'll consider this place again if we're nearby.

Casual atmosphere, friendly staff, fair prices. My daughter ordered the notorious pig sandwich, which she thought was really good. She had a side of the grilled corn on the cob that was good, and a side of the cornbread, which was mediocre. I had the nachos, not expecting it to be such a humongous portion. (See photo). They have an extensive bourbon menu as well as a large beer selection. I recommend you go hungry. You sure won’t leave hungry!

We stopped here after not getting into another place and wow that was a happy accident! The fries are really great and the Mac n cheese we got for our son was so delicious he ate almost all of it and it was a very generous portion. The atmosphere inside and outside is very relaxing. The flatbread is very flat and crispy. We would have loved to have drinks but we had a couple hours to drive. We would definitely stop here again

This is a much anticipated weekly stop for me and my husband. The food is cooked to perfection. My favorite is the Wednesday night gumbo, but, honestly, everything is delicious. A close second to the food is their amazing staff. They are so friendly and real. This cozy and inviting place should be a weekly visit for everyone! Wait, no! Never mind-we still want to be able to get a table there.

Been going to Rosie's for years! The outside seating is nice (weather permitting), but it's a very neat place inside as well. The food is some of the best in town! I get the Twisted Turkey a lot. I highly recommend Rosie's, but consider making a reservation on the weekends.

This place is iconic and is very popular, so it is often busy. Call ahead to reserve a table if you're going to visit during peak times. Staff is incredibly friendly and attentive despite the chaos of the dinner rush. The pizza is really good. The ingredients taste fresh and the sauce is bright yet not overwhelming. They're doing it right.

I hadn't been to Lucca Grill in years - I don't know why because it was fantastic!! The pizza was a perfect thin crust, we really liked the spinach artichoke dip, and the tiramisu was perfect. I had leftovers and accidentally forgot to put them in the fridge which was devastating but just good motivation to come back

“Authentic Italian pizza” opposite of Chicago deep dish. Pineapple, jalapeño bacon. Delicious. Excellent menu of Italian dishes. I will definitely try next time Creamy tiramisu was on point.
