Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Arnprior – 2024

My server was very friendly but you can tell that the staff doesn't work together to support eachother. The side salad was covered in some sort of creamy dressing, not on the side, but not tossed either, it was not appealing. The fish and chips were very good. Unfortunately, I most likely will not be back though, because they don't have even one vegetarian dish on the menu.

Travelling through Saturday Sept 7 2024. Stopped for lunch. Soup and sandwich. Soup was "homemade" veg macaroni. No expert but tasted canned and bland. basically no taste at all. BLT sandwich, Really thick Tomato, and very little bacon. Second person had hot turkey sandwich on a hamburger bun?? with "homemade" gravy. Well never had a hot turkey sandwich with beef brown gravy, that was an experience to say the least. Turkey was good but either powdered or canned brown gravy, not homemade by a log shot. $4.00 for "bottomless" pop, but never saw the server after she dropped the food so was not able to get a refill. Had to ask hostess for the cheque since server was never seen again Spent $50.00 on a lunch that was far from home made and far from worth it.

Went in this morning needing breakfast. I was really happy to see what appeared to be a good price on their breakfast and got it. I went to pay and that's when I discovered that I was charged $3.50 for my coffee. Any decent place includes coffee in the breakfast, or, the worse ones will charge 1.90, but $3.50 for sour diner coffee that should be included in the breakfast means I'm done. That took me from "I am going to make a point of coming here for breakfast more often" to "absolutely not". The food was good, deep fried homefries aren't my thing but whatever, good toast, 3 sausages. Lovely staff, emphasis on this. But don't jerk me around like that on coffee. What a stupid thing to do to your customers.

It's so nice to have such an enjoyable lunch. The menu has a very large selection, and the four of us each ordered something different. All were so delicious! Compliments to the chef and service!

We went for lunch on a Saturday and it was busy but we were still able to get a seat. For an appetizer we ordered waffle fries with an onion bacon cheddar dip which was fantastic. For my main I had the maple [something something] sandwich. It was a long name but it had chicken, bacon, cheese, veggies, and maple syrup. It was an absolute delight. My only real gripe was the honey lime salad had neither honey nor lime, at least not in any obvious capacity. My wife had the Mandarin something salad and it seemed to be the same as mine but mine had strawberries. It seemed kind of odd that the salads weren't really as described. Overall it was very good though and we enjoyed our time out. There were children with us and the staff were clever enough to bring out the kids food first, which was appreciated. One recommendation to the owner would be to print some kids menus instead of having the servers memorize and repeat them back to customers. It's a lot easier for everyone, I would think.

Solid sports bar. Tried the half price wing night and they were really nice and juicy. The sauce wasn't overpowering or super sweet. It was really fast to coke to the table considering how many people were there. The zucchini sticks are the things variety so they are not the squishy interior kind. Not overly battered and were nice starter. Service was really nice and fast, it has that cozy feeling of everybody knowing everyone. Will need to try more of the menue in the future.

The Prior is a nice sports bar with lots of TVs to watch the game while you eat. There are lots of choices on the menu and a bunch of tasty options for toppings on poutine. The prices are good and the portion sizes are great for the price. The service was great, very friendly and helpful. We'll be going back.

The staff was so lazy here. us , and all other patrons. My partner would of spent 3 times the money on cocktails and beer, but no staff seemed to care that we were sitting with empty glasses. Lost sales owner. Lots of staff their, but no service. Food was horrible. I had steak sandwich with baked potato. Garlic toast under the steak was cold and not grilled. Potatoe was half baked. Served with one pat of butter and a little dish of sour cream. No chives or bacon bits offered. Steak was o.k., little cold, but tender and tasty. Atmosphere was strange. Bistro chairs propped up against tables to hit your shins on when being seated. Looking like the place was not put back together after cleaning. Very uncomfortable little bistro patio chairs. Definitely making you want to leave as soon as possible, due to very uncomfortable chair's. My traveling companion had been here 5 year's prior and raved about the Prior Sports Bar and Grill being so busy and fun. Enjoying his experience last time, but this visit was a pale shadow to his last visit. He was disappointed as well. Would not recommend.

If I could give 0 I would. $17 for the saddest looking omelet I have ever seen in my life and completely bland. Served with unseasoned home fries. This should be no more than $10. Worst breakfast I've gotten in a long time!

Food was cold and burnt at the same time. Raw onions and peppers in the nachos under a full bag of half melted shredded bag cheese. Service was slow and the waitress tried to make us pay for the nachos we sent back only offering 20% off. Never asked how our food was or if we wanted another drink. Avoid at all costs.

Quaint little place with a warm atmosphere. From the outside it doesn't look like much but once you step inside, it was spacious, clean, inviting, and relaxed. The cupboard special is what we tried. Wasn't sure what to expect but once the pizza arrived to the table, it was impressive. The crust was evenly toasty and brown all the way around, the toppings were generous and evenly cooked throughout, the flavour had a slight sweetness and the homemade garlic sauce was a great compliment. Each piece looked big and heavy but it really wasn't that heavy or overly filling. It was perfect. Very much enjoyed the food but the service was also very thoughtful and made the dining experience and food all the more enjoyable. Will definitely go back next time we're in Arnprior. Also, their hours are great...open late and apparently they have karaoke!

The worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life! The rice is so bland. The chicken balls hard as a rock with a horrible sauce. The chow mein is just bean sprouts. My egg roll quit literally fell out of the shell. My family had the buffet and you could tell the food had sat under the heat lamp for far to long. The service was atrocious. We were never offered a drink, just given water at the start and then we never saw the server again. Having one employee answering the phone, doing the buffet, doing take out orders and waiting tables is unbelievable. We could have literally walked out and she would have never known what we ate as she never paid attention. It's sad this is the only Chinese food in arnprior as If a decent Chinese place came into town they could make a killing.

Placed our second order was just as delicious! Make sure you give time for your order because obv they get very busy on a weekend. Very friendly people for sure. Excellent!!! We ordered a dinner for one plus two wonton soup and egg rolls!!! The best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. I would definitely be ordering again. And recommend. The food was super fresh and hot and delicious. Thank You!

Picked up 6 egg rolls and an order of chicken fried rice. Drove back to white lake to find we only got 5 greasy egg rolls and no plum sauce. Very disappointing.

Arnprior may be my new eating spot. Exceptional food at this restaurant combined with great service and fabulous courtyard. The restaurant was quite full, given this was a Tuesday. This was a three person sitting and we chose, butter chicken combo, Tikka masala combo and the jambalaya, butter chicken fetucini; if you can say that quick... well done. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We also noted there was karaoke nights and open mic nights which apparently are well attended.

A jewel in the culinary scene of Arnprior, this old fashioned pub serves a selection of pub favourites along with an extensive choice of Indian dishes. We visited on Father’s Day and while the service was a little slow, only one staff member was serving, the food itself was superb. Being from the UK, we have a bit of a taste for Indian food, and this was easily comparable to the standard back home, the kids sampled the pub fare and said the poutine was the best they had ever had. We have also attended Negi’s sister restaurant which has a wider selection of Indian food, but I would encourage anyone to start at the bistro as they have a little bit for everyone in a pub environment. Delighted to have such a restaurant close to home and looking forward to coming back already.

Our waitress was fantastic, much appreciated. The fish was crispy and great tartar sauce, nice sweet potato fries and the coleslaw was also delicious. The chicken burger was also GREAT.

Byriani House is a gem! The food was outstanding—fresh, bursting with flavour, and served piping hot straight from the kitchen. I was particularly impressed with how the curry was prepared, as it wasn’t overly oily, allowing the spices to shine. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend that anyone give it a try!

First time here, the owner was very enthusiastic to introduce their special food, their special plate is so delicious. I can't wait to come back here. Everything is perfect.

Well, if the appearance is all to go by, expect classic pub food. But, you would be wrong and delightfully surprised! Had the privilege and pleasure of a post wedding celebrating here. What a great choice! Food, service, and drinks are really great! Had the (not so) great pleasure of trying a Caesar drink here, apparently a popular Canadian drink. This will be one of those memories that will be forever imprinted in my mind - that feral taste is not fit for accurate description! That said, the locals tell me it's one of the best Caesar drinks around! I opted for the cocktails, all really great. As for the food.. gourmet, no less! A chicken, served top-notch and gourmet style! Judging by the copious compliments on the table of the food, I'm sure that all food here is sensational!

Stopped by for a quick bite on our way back to Ottawa. I loved that I can pick 3 different choices of tacos; picked shrimp, steak and fish. It was DELICIOUS and TASTY. The food is fresh and perfect blend of flavors. For drinks I ordered Lumbertown Lemonade. You can choose the fruit and alcohol you like. I chose Mixed Berry with gin.. Citrusy but needed more gin. Service and staff was great. Even with busy crowd the food was served in timely manner. They also gave live music on Saturday. Will come back again.

We ordered Jim's Bacon Cheeseburger which was really quite good. The patty is fresh ground beef which was well seasoned, simple toppings, on a fresh bun. The fries seemed to be fresh cut also, these were a little under seasoned but easily fixed by adding your own shake of salt. We had a side of gravy which was quite good too. (There are other hamburgers on the menu, these are cooked from frozen, I'd recommend getting the Jim's hamburger over the other one) The service was good, they were friendly and helpful. Everything arrived at our table quickly and hot with a smile from our friendly server. Jim's Restaurant will deliver on a classic diner experience if you are looking for that. The front to the restaurant is set up with a bunch of booths in sight of the kitchen and the front counter. It looks like there is extra seating at the back with tables and chairs. You can hear the kitchen staff working and servers bringing up orders. Overall a good experience, there are not many restaurants like this anymore. The price vs portion size is great, you get good value for your money here. We will be going back for sure. Next time to try the cheesecake, we have heard very good things about it and I like dessert.

We drive from Ottawa just to go eat here. A great home made meal EVERY TIME! We have never had a bad meal here. Staff is always super friendly, always checking on you and creating a great atmosphere. If the manager is there she is super friendly and always checks in on you and tells you what else is happening in town. Highly recommended!

Great dinner! Jim’s is like a downtown diner. It’s super clean with friendly and efficient wait staff. The food my husband and I ordered was delicious - fish & chips for him and shish kabobs for me. Both were served with more sides than we could imagine ever eating. Beer was cold and served with a big smile. If we lived here we would be here often!

I tried two Poutines here. The bacon and also the pulled pork. When you taste that pulled pork you will give this place a 5 star. I have never had pulled pork with such a lovely smoked flavor. Also the strips of bacon in the bacon poutine was quality. I was pleased to also see that the curds were a quality curd and not those cheap rubber type you find at most chip stands. I also appreciated his atmosphere of promoting local shopping. We need more local businesses like this in Canada.

My only complaint is there wasn't enough vegetarian / vegan options. But the poutine was delightful I've had the vegetarian last time and this time just got a regular one & Both were great also ordered a B.L.T ( bacon on the side) was very yummy and fresh on the hot day today !!! Deep fried butter tart was to die for !!!!highly recommend the butter tart

Food is delicious. Love that the fries were seasoned half way. Owner is far from rude and is actually quite funny. Will definitely be back.

I am a truck driver from the states and travel all over the lower 48 and Canada. I have been driving for 35 years so needless to say I have been to a bunch of truck stops. The Antrim truck stop has to be one of the best I’ve seen. I mean it’s in the top 5 and probably the best one in Canada. I will break down my star ranking. Cleanliness: 5 stars Food: 4.75 stars only because no food is ever perfect. They also have their own bakery on site. Very good. Atmosphere: 5 stars Parking: 4.75 only because it’s particularly not paved. Access: 5 stars it’s right off the highway and very easy to get to. Fuel: 4.5 stars only because they don’t have DEF at the pumps and I could only fuel one tank at a time even though it had a hose on both sides of the truck. Mechanic: 4.75 there is a mechanics shop right on property but doesn’t belong to the truck stop that I’m aware of. Not open 24 hours. Staff: 5 stars the staff was very friendly and accommodating. So I had to give them a total of 5 stars only because there is not a fraction but, in all I feel it is 4.75 stars. Nobody is ever perfect but they come very close.

Amazing. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was so friendly and polite, the service was incredibly fast and the food wow some of the best food I’ve ever had and you get your money’s worth it’s a great value for a great price plus you’ll definitely have leftovers so you can enjoy it again when you get home. I don’t visit out east often but I may have to now just to stop in here for a bite to eat.

My son likes to create his own media art with images from the internet and I wanted to surprise him with one of his pics on his birthday cake…Alyssa made it happen perfectly even though I contacted late. The cake was amazing and absolutely delicious!!! ⭐️

I've been to a few Indian restaurants in the country, and my expectations for going to an Indian restaurant in Arnprior were low. The service and atmosphere was amazing. The food was really good. I ordered hot shrimp curry and their Negi special chicken appetizer. I love spicy food, and their hot shrimp, not that spicy to my taste buds, was amazing. Their special chicken appetizers with cilantro was exquisite. I would definitely go back in the future.

My wife and I travel over 3 hours just to get the amazing food they serve here. We were passing through town several years back and came across this gem. Since then, for any special occasion (anniversary in particular), we have ordered takeout from here and have always been impressed with the quality and taste of their food. If you want to impress someone with Indian cuisine, I highly recommend coming here. My wife and I will continue to come here despite the distance from our home because the food is just that good.

Best Indian food. Great lunch special. Fast service. Wifi works well too. Manny and Kanda are the best!!
