Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Altona – 2024

A bunch of guys at work told me to try this place out and I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered a cheeseburger and poutine. Burger was delicious and well seasoned and simple basic toppings just how i like it to let the burger shine. The bun was large and held together nicely. Poutine was big and the gravy they made was delicious! And crinkle fries were crispy. Waitress was very good too. Happy I stopped here.

The food was decent. Customer service was awful. We were a family of 5 and the only ones in the restaurant. Took 45 mins to get out food and then they didn't even make my daughters plate. We finally asked for her meal and they said they forgot. She finally got her meal when the rest of us were done our meals. Waitress didn't check on us at all. Didn't offer water refills. Bathroom was extremely dirty. Not sure if we would come back...

We ordered a pizza and a poutine. They told us the hydro had just come back on and we waited an hour by the time we got the food the fries were all soggy from the gravy and the pizza crust was very chewy like it had been through the oven a few times. Last time that I remember. It used to be a very good place to eat.

How im awkwardly sitting here with another table of strangers is horrible. Hard to have a conversation with the people i came with. There was a man bathing in the sink in the bathroom literally had his foot in the sink. Service is absolutely terrible terrible the blonde waitress needs a new job this is not her profession. Food- started with Bruschetta absolutely DISGUSTING was soggy bread almost threw up eating it. Waiting for our meals became annoying maybe there in that back gutting the cow? I understand food can take time but wow this was a LONG wait. Food was served very cold to us. We waited over a hour for our food.

Featured here is the sesame chicken rice bowl and I also got an avocado almond shake. Fantastic food in a cozy low-key atmosphere. I would definitely come here again.

Philly cheese steak pasta. Menu claims it has steak "on three cheese jalapeno and peppers", don't ask about the missing cheese and peppers, as you then get called a racist.

This was a great little place to stop. I ordered the special and it was delicious. Southern Honey Mustard crunchy chicken burger with fries and a drink. The burger even had deep fried dill pickle slices on it! Chicken was juicy and crispy. And I got an order of wings to go. Waitress did a great job!

Worst fried chicken I’ve ever eaten. Dry, overcooked, flavorless! Pasta called ‘kielte’ was flavorless as was the cream gravy. Visiting from Alberta and will never return. Our server was very nice

I wanted my favorite dish and they had it on the menu but, but they didn’t have it so I had to order something else. But the food was good

I especially recommend the Lava Burger. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had. Must use a fork for it. Comes drenched in cheese sauce in a hot skillet

Fantastic Food at a good price. Probably the best Burger I've had in years. Had the Potpourri Burger, was outstanding. Great place for Datenight. 10/10 the other reviews don't lie.

I think this is the best restaurant in Altona. The food is great and so is the atmosphere.

I attended this location last week with my grandmother, I am disappointed. I asked them to grill my sandwich and he refused bc I had a few different sauces, never in my life have I ever been refused bc of a few sauces. The worker was rude, ignored me when I questioned him. I worked at subway for 7 years and managed 2 locations. My least favourite location.

It took fairly long to get food that wasn’t real tasty Just my opinion You might like it better

Great food, great people. Most staff are efficient and ready to serve. There are a few that fail to bring refills on beverages but it's a work in progress. I know the manager here and she is very well-liked by the customers. She does take the time to come say Hi when she has the time. I get the vibe that she is very pleasant to work under, her staff seems comfortable unless they are just starting, which is normal for a beginner serving personnel. Thank you for the continued pleasant experiences.

Had the corn chowder at lunch time and it was fantastic! However, they should rename it to potato chowder, as it was packed with potatoes, which I prefer to corn. Loved it! Service was really slow, took about an hour to get the food. Guessing they were understaffed and place was pretty full

AMAZING! the service is great so friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. Made with love❤ i love the wonton soup for an appetizer and i we had pork in sweet and sour sauce with noodles and veggies. My husband and I each had a soup and shared the noodles and meat. We were so full that we took the rest home. Cant wait to eat the rest of this delicious meal! If you love chinese food this restaurant is a must.

I had visited Altona, Manitoba, last week. The town is awesome, just like the pizza's of Pizza Haven. The food is amazing and so is their hospitality. I would recommend this place everyone, give it a try........trust me, it will be a worthy experience :) .

Had a take out order and everything turned out great! Chili fries have a nice little kick to it and the boneless chicken was really tender.

Came to Pizza Haven with my family for my grandmas 96th birthday. She comes here once a year for her favourite pizza. The atmosphere is great and the staff is awesome ! The Mennonite pizza was fantastic. From the creamy gravy sauce to the cant wait to eat fluffy yet crispy crust, yum. The flavours of the toppings makes you feel like you’re eating a perogy dinner. The large Greek salad was very tasty and fresh and feeds about 3. The carrot cake is unbelievable. Everything tasted amazing and service was bang on. Will definitely come back.

We were married at Prairie Homestead this weekend and it was absolutely perfect! We were able to have a completely stress free day because Lorraine was making sure everything was flowing perfectly, and Breanne had been available by email leading up to the event to answer any questions. Everyone said how beautiful the venue was (it definitely was!!), and it was so lovely to do our ceremony and reception in the same place, plus all the photos because there were so many spots to use. Set up was so easy, we simply said which pieces of decor (which was all included) we wanted and we were set up with in 2 hours the day before. Having 1 wedding per weekend was wonderful because we had so much time to set up and take down, we were never rushed or stressed. We could not have had a better day and we would HIGHLY recommend Prairie Homestead for the venue, the staff, just every aspect made our day perfect!

This venue is absolutely stunning! Highly recommend this venue if you’re looking for a country/rustic theme! Lorraine and Breanne were such a big help! They made my day going super easy and smooth so I wouldn’t stress. This venue is also amazing for your photographer/videographer to capture gorgeous moments & pictures! We were very pleased and couldn’t be more happier!

Absolutely gorgeous venue, the owners were amazing to work with and they have anything you could think of wanting in your wedding venue needs. The property also provides stunning photo areas as well. Thank you so much for making our day more than what we could have even dreamed of. -Michelle & Greg
