Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Albany – 2024

I had the fried grouper nuggets and they were cooked just right, but just a little too salty. The mashed potatoes were room temperature and very thick. I'm pretty sure they were instant. They were out of squash casserole. The creamed corn was okay. My husband had the beef tips and rice and he said it was very good. The buttermilk pie was excellent. Service was fast and friendly.

I talked to a local at my hotel who said this place is a good place to try because I was looking for local restaurants. I ordered a biscuits and gravy and egg, grits, and bacon bowl. I’m on the hunt for the best biscuits and gravy. I’m really impressed with these biscuits and gravy. Chucks of sausage, gravy season, does a a bit of floury taste, very subtle which is really good because it’s hard. The price was great for them. I have no complaints. So far, ranking high for me. The bowl is what you can make at home. Nothing special. I would come back. Not truck friendly. If you came early morning and grabbed it and went, you could, but that’s it. No parking for semi tractors. I had a rental, so I went. Uber eats or take a Lyft would be great.

This was truly a great place to eat. Everyone was exceptionally nice. Customer service was above board. The food was amazing.

Decent food and service - what I would expect from this chain. The standout was our server Kay J - she was great. I believe the chain as a whole has really improved over the last few years. They have some really good recipes and of course the salad and breadsticks has always been good. It was a good choice for us for lunch.

I don't go to Olive Garden often, but when I do, it hardly ever disappoints! Seafood Alfredo is my all-time favorite, and now that i can add broccoli to it - ***chef kiss***

There was a funky odor in the dining area. It smells like the carpet was old and moldy. It really was annoying but the food and service was great.

We showed up about 50 minutes before closing and had 6 in our party. Qontrece was our server. She and the other staff we talked to were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent! Shrimp and grits were the best I have ever had! We all enjoyed our food and experience here and look forward to coming back when we can!

Server was impressionable, impatient, and rude, the busboy splashed liquid onto our table and the manger appeared to be irritated by our complaint. The owner need to do a complete overhaul of staff if the restaurant is to survive. We ordered food and the biscuits tasted like fish, the gator bites were dry and did not have the sauce, the waiter kept sliding everything across our table. We left and did not stay to eat the food because of service, atmosphere (everything felt dirty) and especially the busboy splashing us with the bucket of drink liquids. Horrible horrible horrible experience for a family of 3 from Chicago.

The wings and catfish were delicious, although the St. Louis ribs were a bit dry for my taste. However, the Mac and cheese and green beans were quite good. The service was excellent.

Our visit to Claw was a mixed experience, marked by both highs and lows. While there were some commendable aspects, several factors contributed to an overall uneasy atmosphere. One of the main issues was the slow service. Despite not being overly busy, the wait time for our meal was longer than expected, which was frustrating and set a negative tone for the evening. When the food did arrive, we found that the snow crabs were overcooked, making them tough and difficult to enjoy. However, Claw did have its redeeming qualities. The hush puppies were excellent—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a delightful flavor that made them a standout. Additionally, the kid-friendly menu was a pleasant surprise, offering a variety of options that appealed to our little ones. The flavors of the seafood boil were also noteworthy. The seasoning was well-balanced, with a robust blend of spices that elevated the dish. Despite the overcooked snow crabs, the other components of the boil were cooked nicely and flavorful. In summary, Claw had its strengths, particularly with its hush puppies, kid-friendly offerings, and the flavorful seafood boil. However, the slow service and the overcooked snow crabs contributed to an uneasy atmosphere that detracted from the overall dining experience.

Whether I'm getting my boils to go or dining in, King Claw never disappoints! For the most part, and depending on what all you get, everything is reasonably priced. The service is good and the drinks are even better.

The food was really good! Oysters and gator bites were on point! The peachrita was delicious ! I had 2! Our server Austin was awesome! He was very attentive even though it was was busy and they had large parties! It’s expensive but that’s to be expected! Ughhh I hate when I go back again and the service has depleted! Why did my waitress bring me “already squeezed” lemons for my water? And then, when I brought it to her attention, she did not apologize and had an attitude the rest of the time. The service was slow to start and the food was salty even though I asked for the very mild spice level. Sadly, I won’t be back again. (I added a picture of the squeezed lemon the waitress brought versus the fresh lemons the greeter brought when I said something about it)

Me and my family had reservations for my aunts graduation dinner. I was satisfied with the food and most of all the customer service. They did a good job making sure they were prepared for my family. They cooked the food fresh and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I had the catfish and cheese grits. It was good and well seasoned! We were allowed to come in early to setup and Ms. Flossie and her staff were very helpful during the process. The room was spacious and clean. Nice and cool too. We had a great time and no complaints honestly. I do recommend this restaurant for family events.

Alright folks, I don't eat meat, so can't tell you about it. But da veggies is RIGHT. I had crowded (sp?), zipper and cream peas, collards, yams and whitr rice. 1st time having all 3 of those beans. Excellent and healthy!!! Everything is just the way I like it. Seasoned real nice. Yams were mushy - just the way I like 'em. Every dish was smooth. Price..$12. They had cake and peach cobbler. I passed. Tried too much extras in the past 2 weeks. Gotta hit the situps. I'm not a dessert eater anyway. But it all looked good to me. It was a Tuesday, so I was the only one in the restaurant. But I had a good ol' time with the brother who served me. Great parking for us truckers. My recommendation....definitely go get some.

The food had no seasoning. Barely even any salt. The service also sucked, they barely came and checked on us. The atmosphere, it was really hot in the place and the chairs were really wobbly.

I ate dinner here with my family as we were looking for somewhere to eat on/nearby the boardwalk. At the time it was around 8pm and we were looking for somewhere to eat before watching the fireworks at Harborview. This was a problem because most restaurants closed at 9pm and their wait times were over an hour to accommodate my family. That's when I stumbled upon AJ's. When I got there, one of the staff also mentioned that "you can see the fireworks." (Disclaimer about the fireworks, I thought it was going to be a big thing but it turned out to be a 5 minute tiny fireworks display probably meant to only attract people to the boardwalk on slow days; mon/thur.) My family sat upstairs on the bar floor for this reason, and I thought the decorations, live music, and harbor view were something way too good to complain about. On the other hand, something that did disappoint me was the food. No one told me before my family was seated that "upstairs and downstairs had different menus." I wished we could've been informed about this before we sat down, but it didn't bother me too much since we wanted to sit upstairs anyway. I decided to order the gumbo bowl and Classic Fish Sandwich. (Blackened "fish". Menu doesn't really say what kind of fish? ‍♂️). I thought the seafood gumbo was okay, but the fish sandwich disappointed me just a little. The "fish" was seasoned fine and cooked well, but the tartar sauce described in the menu felt nonexistent. Overall, AJ's is a nice place for a bite later in the evening, but if I was in a situation where there were more restaurants open, I'd pick another restaurant with better seafood options.

Service was fast and friendly. We had fried shrimp, they were tasty and served hot. The sweet potato fries were good. Didn’t really like the hush puppies, they were kind of dry and not very flavorful.

The customer service was absolutely unprofessional and extremely rude. The food was utterly unacceptable. The pasta was half way cooked and chicken tasted like a cardboard. On top of it, the stuff is completely non-accommodating. Would never go there again or recommend to anyone. The worst experience I ever had at the restaurant.

I order curbside usually once or twice a week from here but here lately it's been hit or miss with the food. You can always tell which cooks love their job & which ones are there for a paycheck !! The last couple times the salmon I got was burnt on the outside so of course dry as sand on the inside, the rice was so old it was hard & why someone would chose to serve that to someone is beyond me bc you know good & dog gone well if someone served thag to you it would've been sent back IMMEDIATELY! I always order several orders of their croissants bc they're my favorite thing & I literally have to add in there not to overcook or else when I bite into them they literally crumble in my lap; not to mention I always ask for extra butter with each order yet rarely get it... I'm gonna try one more time & after that I'm done with this place if I get the same quality of food I got last night !!!!

The food and service was horrible. I am sitting here now inside to make sure that everything is taken care of before I walk off. We are not being compensated for the inconvenience. I am not even trying to get a free meal. It’s the principal of the whole matter. We had the same waitress as another table and they got everything that they ask for and they came in after us. I just don’t understand. They brought me a so called thing of ranch it was a little more than a drop in it. The manager said that they ran out of condiments but the waiter never said anything. But once again, the others was giving all that they wanted. I just don’t understand. If I could give a negative rating, I would. I would like for the district manager to reach out to me.

Sarah E was our server and did a great job. Drinks stayed full and food came out in the correct order and was hot. We had bread rolls, onion rings, pork chops, mashed potatoes, house salad (blue cheese), Cesar salad, ribs, fried shrimp, broccoli casserole, and sweet tea with lemon. Everything was spot on and delicious. We enjoyed our food and conversation, did not feel rushed out. First time at this location and we will be back! Enjoy!

Rubber. The steak is rubber. Why do I have to order medium rare to get a medium steak and its still rubber? Drinks are weak, broccoli was dang near raw. Service was great, no shade to the servers, they are awesome. But it's no wonder its never busy anymore there. At least you get a cute souvenir with the latest drink.

Austin was by far, the best server we’ve ever had. We come here multiple times a month , for years, and have never received service like that young man provided. Absolutely outstanding and will only be coming back on the nights he works. Management is excellent too.

I’m so impressed by my experience tonight!! the food was amazing ➕ I had pretty good customer service!!! Way to go Outback! … the manager that was working tonight was so inviting and so nice! She came checked on us and make sure we had a great experience and we did!! We will come back!!!! ❤️

10/10! I’m a truck driver from East Texas area just passing through Albany, GA. Definitely recommend this place. All the sides were 10/10, food was fresh, and the ladies were very nice and professional! Next time I’m back in Albany I will definitely be stopping here again. Thank you guys.

The lady who serviced me was very nice and put extra items for me to try, like the spicy stewed goat and the spinach, which was 100% excellent and never thought I'd like spinach that way and for the money the portion was very decent so I'd go back without a doubt. Oh, the sweet tea was also great

I was looking for something different… I read some reviews sounded like the food was good so I thought I would try it….WOWZA this food is Absolutely Wonderful the flavors r DELICIOUS I don’t like goat but I LOVE this goat. Not to mention the tropical wings then there’s the Turkey wing but don’t think for a minute that u have had spinach until u have had it here yummy!! I couldn’t stop eating it felt like thanksgiving dinner even the rice was amazing both kinds of rice. Last but not least the homemade watermelon lemonade o man it was all so good. Then she says homemade pound cake for dessert. Wow can’t wait to go back gained 3lbs!

Pleasant and warm welcoming experience. Food was delicious and well portioned dishes! First visit for my spouse and I. We are looking foward to our next meal at their new location they will he opening soon off of Meridith St.

I go here on Friday for oxtails. Food is always delicious and the staff is so welcoming and friendly.

I could eat at zaila’s place for the rest of my life, and I love that there are good staff members that care about the satisfaction of there customers!! 10/10

I was recommended this place while in town. The Georgia Peach drink was delicious. I ordered the steak medium but it came out well done, salty and drowning in grease/butter. I should have sent it back but the service was already pretty slow and I didn't want to wait. I'd maybe return to try something else but it wouldn't be my first choice.

The Flint was highly recommended by the hotel and it did not disappoint. From the arrival the hostess was awesome. Sitting at the bar ordered drinks and food. The Executive Chef G was amazing. The pasta with chicken was excellent good portion size even leftover and extra pasta sauce to go. Excellent in all areas. I shall return.

Everything was top notch. I love the great atmosphere, service, and food was awesome. I came here with my family for my Mother law birthday dinner. I ordered the Roasted Chicken and cornbread dressing with baked mac and cheese and grilled asparagus it was so delicious with an amazing flavor. I'll definitely recommend The Flint to family and friends.

This was my first and last time here. I chose the Cajun shrimp pasta, which is the "Tuesday special" recommended by the waitress. Absolutely disgusting! The shrimp were overcooked and rubbery, the pasta had zero flavor sitting in some sort of greasy butter sauce, and there was a pound of bland mozzarella type cheese on it. Service was very slow, the restaurant was loud from music blaring, and it was a dirty, dive bar vibe. Absolutely don't recommend it.

I mean it is a hometown hot-spot. The pizza we had was great. The building is small. The price was good. We got a large pizza, a small, and a kids plate. I have had better pizza, but not in a very long time and not in GA. The amount of cheese and toppings they put on the pizza means they have to Cooke the pizza for a longer time in the oven, this makes for a very well done bottom. If you don’t prefer this, let your server know.

Customer service was great but the pizza is well below average. The pizza crust was over cooked and crunchy and I love a thin crust but this was like eating dried magnolia leaves. The pizza had almost no sauce and the cheese was just under a half inch thick. That’s way too much cheese to eat with no sauce or bread to cut it. The buffalo half wasn’t bad the chicken wasn’t seasoned just tossed into the sauce so it still tasted like chicken not buffalo and the heat was more like Frank’s red hot not buffalo not bad but not what was expected.

I stopped by this sushi restaurant during a work trip. The service was prompt and the sushi was delicious. Very fresh and tasty. Albany Georgia, I would take you back to the buckeye State if I could. They appeared to be very accommodating as well for their customers. If you don't like"raw" sushi rolls, they'll fry it (ruin it) for you. I'll be back for more!

Wow, I am impressed. This was way better than what I expected, and the tuna avocado salad was superb! Huge bowl of super fresh tuna in ponzu with avocado and shaved cucumber This was also so much better than the other sushi place up the street, ate there last week (while traveling on business) and was completely underwhelmed.

Always a great place to visit and the food never disappoints. I love getting to go by and while sometimes they are busy, the servers are always friendly. If you love sushi, it's a great option, especially if you like a relaxed atmosphere where you can just enjoy your meal.

Joanna, Stephanie and Joseph are so amazing at this location! Always taking care of us and the best service even when they are short staffed. Joseph should have been the manager here forever ago! He goes above and beyond to take care of customers! I have seen him come out and help deliver food, correct issues for agitated customers and never lose a smile! I wish i owned a cracker barrel so I could steal him away!

Such a great experience at Cracker Barrel! Natasha, the team lead, was such a pleasure to meet. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, including bringing us fresh, strong coffee when we asked—thank you, Natasha! Our waitress from Baltimore was also friendly and welcoming. The staff overall was super friendly, the wait wasn’t too long, and the food was fresh. Great service all around!

A Tuesday morning, the place was almost empty. Yet it took over 30 minutes to get us some eggs, pancakes, biscuits, etc. No steaks, nothing complicated. If things were slamming on and SEC championship Saturday and the place was packed, I could imagine taking that long, but this was a bit absurd. Our server wasn't very proactive on the front side to let us know it was going to be slow, or next, etc. But when it did come she recognized the delay. And suggested we use her employee code for a discount at the register. But no manager involvement at all.
