We broke down in Watson Lake on our way to Alaska, and ended up staying for much longer than intended. This rec center quickly became our WORLD. For such a small town, it is a beautiful facility, and so much more than a visitor center (of which it also is). There is a weight room, little cafe, saunas, pool, showers, AND some great museum-quality displays. They even have one of those darkened rooms with benches and a giant movie playing on repeat about the history of the area. So worth the trip! The staff is incredibly helpful, the building is laid-out well, and it is CLEAN. A+ in my travel journal.
Awesome place to take a shower and clean up. Facilities are clean and quiet and the price is great too!
Beautiful showers and sauna for a very good price! If you are traveling, this is a great place to stop and freshen up. Staff is friendly and accommodating to your every need.

If you can find somewhere else to stay, I’d suggest doing that. This was nothing more than a dusty parking lot with power poles. We went to the very back and at least had bushes and trees on one side and the back. No picnic table and the big rig rvs were so close together it wouldn’t driven me nuts! It was only one night so it was tolerable and we walked across the street to the Sign Post Forest. Do better Watson Lake!
Worst breakfast burrito I've had today not Not wrapped to hot to pick up I miss the gentleman that normally cooks the females are horrible no due care an attention to detail!!!! Terrible today just terrible cheese hasn't melted burrito wasn't wrapped tight enough horrible to loose everything fell out as soon as you picked it up it was a waste to buy!!!! You ladies need to learn how to present the food so ppl don't get turned off from buying it. Not Ok do better!
Beware of the electric power at this RV lot behind the gas station. We had the the breaker on our power post trip four times in the late afternoon/ evening as did several other rigs. I measured the voltage supply and found it dropped 12 volts which indicates poor distribution wiring throughout the sites. Not only is this a nuisance but it also can damage the equipment in your rig.

George makes really good chicken burgers. We've now ordered 3. The mojo wedges & chicken wings are always easy go to meals.
I’m usually not very critical of places but dang, if you have even an ounce of urgency, DO STOP HERE. When we ordered our food it felt like it was an inconvenience to the lady working the front counter. I understand options are limited along the Alcan, but I feel bad for the people who rely on places like this. Whoever the owner is, you need to have a chat with your staff.
Best French Toast on the Alaska Highway. Run by a Philippino Family, just great service and great people. Get the food here, you won’t regret it.

We ordered dinner for two, but got dinner for three instead! No complaints here, though - that food was fab and those egg rolls? Spicy goodness!
We ordered kumpao and chicken fried rice, it was a lot of food and it was delicious. I think this restaurant deserves more than the 4.2 that it has. The ladies that took out order were really kind
We had 2 different vegetarian meals, but they more or less looked the same. Deep fried tofu was delicious, but the vegetables tasted like they have not been cooked enough, most of them were pretty hard to bite into.. The waitresses were not unfriendly, but definitely not that friendly as it has been described in other reviews. There are not many options in Watson Lake, so you have to stick to one of the I think 3 restaurants anyway

Came here for lunch with my family during a road trip stop. The food we ordered was tasty and filling, with the smoothies being particularly good. The next time I am in Watson Lake, I will aim to eat here.
Awesome gem, try Laurie’s poutine! It’s a classic version made with handcut fries, a generous pour of gravy, and curds that are perfectly melted. And at $6, the small size is a steal! We couldn’t help but come back to eat it for both breakfasts we spent in Watson Lake. The coffee drinks are also impressive, the baked goods are ample, and the breakfast bun was scrumptious (Laurie happily replaced the bacon with extra egg and cheese, delighting the vegetarian in our party). Definitely check out Laurie’s for good prices, friendly service, and fresh food made simply and with care.
This gem is tucked away in the Rec Center just behind the Sign Post Forest in Watson Lake. Delicious food. Friendly service. Also showers on site, as well as a very nice visitor center

Udatw oct 16: its lunchtime on a Wednesday and inordered a large veggie pizza. A little pricey but average for the area here i guessw.... and honestly... im not gonna lie, this might be THE BEST PIZZA I ever had. And I don't usually like thinner crusts but this crust is amazing! Ingredients are so fresh and the cheese isn't some cheap blend, it's straight up real mozza with some.old cheddar on top. It easily cracks my top 3, if not #1. And I've tried literally 100's of places all over this country !! Ok , so I went in on a Saturday night (Thanksgiving weekend) so its pretty quiet inside. I ordered the veg burger with a side soup, as well as a "greek salad". it's all the standard pre-prepped food off the grocery truck you'd find at any smal down quickie Diner. But it was well prepared and tasted great My biggest complaint was the seating.... the place they clearly did themselves, home done but it looks.really nice and I like the cleanliness and looks of the interior. BUT THE SEATING IS uncomfortable as hell!! No c4ushion or padding. Just bare wood, even the chairs, no cushion to them. The service was... okay... it was polite and courteous.
It was nice to have a hot meal but the bathrooms are gross and the food was mediocre. The wait staff was super nice and attentive.
Very expensive, and they burnt our pizza. The staff also seemed annoyed that they had to make our order.
