Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Whitecourt – 2024

This is my first 1 ⭐️review. This was probably the worst taco time I’ve eaten at. I was planning on returning for the donair tomorrow but definitely will not be. After a long day the last thing I wanted was to be disappointed, but I left disgusted. I couldn’t even finish my food. The young men working where polite however I had a 10 minute wait for beef for my food, I happily waited as I thought I knew what to expect. Upon receiving my food I was let down again and again. My large beef and cheese was tiny, I even asked if it was a large when he bagged it. My mexi fries deluxe was made with no name cardboard fries, and some random white cheese. My crisp meat was not crispy and the meat was wet. I did not finish my food I’m hungry, grossed out and everything else in town is closed. As a franchise that has been around longer than me, I am blown away at such poor Quality control.

I was pretty disappointed in my visit today, the chicken from my chicken quesadilla was large and chunky, it tasted old and it was extremely dry. I'm usually much happier with the food here, but this time around it was a real let down.

Worst experience in history at any establishment for food. The server couldn't understand my partners plain english and messed up taking our order FIVE times, then when she corrected our order they tried to charge for meat when ordering without

I had a fantastic time at Smitty Whitecourt! The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. The premises were clean, and I especially loved the indoor bar and billiards, which added a fun and social aspect to the experience. This place truly offers a great combination of great food, friendly service, and enjoyable amenities. I highly recommend it!

Our server was excellent. Greeted us, smiled & was helpful. My beef dip was great & good soup. The other couple enjoyed a healthy omlette & a big mushroom burger. I would recommend.

This place is decent. It is normally quiet most nights. There is always a game on if your into that sort of thing. 2 pool tables and VLTs to entertain yourself with while you wait for your meal. Wings are pretty decent on wing nights (Wednesdays and Saturdays). Service is hit or miss but they usually try their hardest to give you great service. There are a few regular waitress that are amazing and they really make the experience.

I had an amazing experience with this restaurant. The customer service was outstanding, and the food was exactly what I was looking for. I usually stop at this restaurant for take out on my way to Grande Prairie from Calgary. Good place for truck drivers as well. Truck parking available on the side of the street. This is the best restaurant in town! The food is delicious, and the service is wonderful. I will be back...

Stopped in on our way to Edmonton. Nice change from the usual burger places. Service was good, prices reasonable, food was tasty. Interesting choice to put fries in the shawarma but it was pretty good. Got the olive leaf wraps as a side, they were exactly the same as Greek dolmades which I love so that was a nice surprise.

positive : the food tasted good and fresh cons: Portions are made for kids ordered a large wrap and it was the size of a small one from your average shawarma place. charge more money but at least put something in the plate No tomatoes or salad in the wrap, but they put fries in it. if you had a plate full of veggies and meat and rice you would have won a customer for life instead i got the big chain feeling.

Can't say anything about food, took 1.5 hours to get 2 bowls of soup, waited another half hour for the 3rd bowl of soup. Brought one sandwich out to the one who just got served soup. We will continue waiting for our sandwiches. Almost 3 hours before we got our food, the soup good, saw many dishes being served to others. Disgusting

Overpriced,overcooked, rude staff and they charge you a to go fee and charge you for every container even the pizza has a pizza box fee! Gravy is lumpy and fries are soggy, burgers are tasteless and the pizza is chewed!

I can’t rate the food because we were never seated. We walked in to the restaurant for dinner , we waited, waited some more, rang the bell a few times, waited some more and no one even came to seat us. We have been here before for breakfast and it has been good. Don’t come for dinner, because you won’t even be seated.

We’ve been here a couple of times and they never disappoint. My hubby always orders fish, shrimp, and chips and the quality is always consistent - always great and scrumptious. It’s the best fish & chips in town, for sure! Last time, I ordered their summer special which is the stir fry noodles and it was delicious. I hope it stays on the menu. I am already excited and looking forward to our next dine here.

my chicken burger wasn’t cooked & after admitting that it looked very pink and slimy they still charged me for it!! i didn’t even eat it absolutely yuck.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Fatburger/Ricky's in Whitecourt, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations! Natasha, our waitress, provided impeccable service—attentive, kind, and lightning-fast. She ensured zero issues throughout our meal, earning a well-deserved 10/10 rating. The food was cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes were impressively large. Despite our initial hesitation due to a less-than-stellar experience at Ricky's in Grande Prairie, Alberta, we took a chance and were thrilled with the outcome. We'll definitely be back for more, thanks to Natasha's exceptional service and the delicious fare. Natasha truly deserves a raise for her outstanding dedication to customer satisfaction!

We had a great time! Food didn't take too long but there was quite a bit of waiting time for drinks; but they were also busy so understandable! My dish wasn't my favorite!

Great experience for my first pub, quiet, calm atmosphere with interesting wall decor. I'm not a fan of beer, but their Blonde Lager has a mild, crispy flavor I really enjoyed. Fantastic fish & chips as well.

This ruined my day. 2 hour drive to Whitecourt to empty our storage unit. 4 of us went to Joe's after loading for almost 2 hours. I ordered the Pacific rim noodle soup. Was marked as a favorite on the menu. Was terrible. The chicken looked like tofu and was rubbery, very bland other then the salt from the broth. I couldn't even eat it. My youngest liked the nachos but had to pay $6 on top of the original $15 for beef on it. My oldest ate his burger and my hubby who'll eat anything wasn't a fan of his chicken club wrap either, left half on his plate. (He's a big eater and we hadn't eaten today) The fries and gravy were good, but that's about it. The service was good and the server asked if I wanted something else but we faced a 2 hour drive home and I didn't feel like waiting for something else then have my family watch me eat it. So now I get Kraft dinner or a can of soup as we're living in our trailer (just bought a quarter section) with no power yet. Thanks a lot! Will never return.

We had a great experience. We arrived shortly after they opened. We’d been traveling for hours. Our meal was fantastic. I got a curry vegetable dish and hubby got the hot plate beef. All tasted great excellent service. Don’t worry you’ll love it.

Incredibly delicious! Europe and Asia are spoiled with variety and delicious food. We ordered Deluxe combination dinner for three. And I didn’t even have time to photograph everything because this delicious food simply disappeared from the plate . It was incredibly delicious!!!! I met the owner and we discussed Vietnam as I always like to find out where they originated from seeing that I live there myself now. I highly recommend My Little Saigon. Fantastic restaurant. I had the Skookum Grilled chicken sandwich and it was mouth watering delicious. Paired it with their fancy named house salad that was also terrific. Atmosphere is great in the lounge, especially when you have a late lunch and you're the only one there. My waitress was very friendly and knows the menu inside and out.

Good food and service. Appetizers we had as a meal were a little on the salty side but still fun to eat. Pricing is probably the most expensive in town, $18 for a 8oz glass of wine.

I can't say how many times I have driven through Whitecourt and missed this place. Finally we stopped in and wow am I glad we did! My wife is in rapture at the 11oz strip loin steak which is one of the finest steaks she has ever had! I am enjoying an excellent pizza (the pepperoni, ham and mushroom) and just so happy we finally stopped in here! This restaurant has been around since 1979 which speaks volumes for the quality of the food etc. I can't recommend this place enough!!

Best Pizza I've ever had. Fantastic crust and toppings. That pizza was a large for about 30 bucks

Everything about this restaurant was fantastic. The food is amazing. Caesar salad dressing crafted in house is so delicious. Balsamic glazed meatballs were incredible. And probably the best steak I’ve had in a restaurant in a long time. Try the New York strip, you will not be disappointed. And the ribs just fall apart, they are so tender and delicious! If you happen to have Juanita as your server, you’ve definitely hit the jackpot. She was absolutely fantastic.

Weird experience at this restaurant. Apetizers came after the main course which was ok but cold. However, my husband's sushi were good.

Had one of the feature drinks that had Rosè and flakes of rose around the rim, it was delicious Definitely recommend the Mango Tango roll

This is my favorite restaurant in town. It's definitely worthwhile! The food is truly amazing! I can't believe how fresh and flavourful everything is. The love roll is my favorite dish right now. The ramen is a close second. But let's be honest, everything I've tried becomes my new favorite! I can't wait for my next visit to see what my next new favorite dish will be! I know you will feel the same way!

Great value for your money, with piping hot food served like home cooked meals. The waitress staff are all very friendly and attentive!

The food was amazing even better by the excellent service. I tried chocolate cadillac cheesecake. The taste was great, everybody loved it. Will100% be returning.

The food is okay (slightly over priced), but the service is terrible. It took the waitresses (yes, plural) three times to get my drink order right. The place is severely dated with poorly patched wall paper and grease stains everywhere. The cutlery appeared to be washed in a broken dishwasher. I won't be back.

Good location with plenty of parking, place was busy! Unfortunately the food wasn’t all that great, it was wing Wednesday, we tried the pasta which was decent but the wings were basically inedible. The dill pickle wings were dry with pickle powder carelessly dumped all over them. The hot wings were better but still dried out. Our server was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is nice if you like the dive bar theme.

Amazing food, great staff, and a lovely atmosphere /\ This still all stands, however; I ordered the shepherd pie from here for supper tonight my favorite!!! (Take out) I was very displeased when I opened up my (2) containers and they were only 1/3 filled, and did not look Appetizing in any sense whatsoever and for some reason tonight they were incredibly spicy. Great taste, but I am unhappy with the amount and quality of the food. The first 2 photos are the containers directly after opening them. The third photo is the two containers dumped into one after they had both been mixed and "fluffed."

We found Brothers Diner on google. After reading the reviews, we thought we're going to have a good lunch. The service & atmosphere was great. When we got our dishes, both looked really good. My wife ordered the avocado toast/eggs & cubed potatoes. This meal was great. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries. This meal was far from great. The burger itself was dry & hard around the edges. The bottom portion of the bun was crusty & not from being toasted. The garnishing was fresh & the fries were average. They discounted the bill & we went on our way.

Decent location, interesting interior, tables were sticky and the seats are worn. I tried the Beer battered fish, the plate looked perfect and the food was delicious! Our server was nice and helpful, definitely has the old skool diner vibe.

This place has been my go to, for breakfast and lunch since they opened. And the hostess Courtney is really great. I don’t require a menu when I visit as she always has great recommendations and knows what I like.
