Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Wainwright – 2024

Rave to Wainwright Steak House for a nice dinner, and Shylyn for her great service. The Pad Thai was very good and authentic. They used just enough sweet & spicy sauce as to not overburden the nice combination of bean sprouts, green onions, fried eggs, chicken, shrimp, and peanuts. This was my first time dining in; But I had help from a long time customer of the steakhouse and trusted friend of mine who just happened to be in the restaurant at the same time. Kathy tells me that she really likes their Cantonese Chow Mein. Kathy was totally right :) The Cantonese Chow Mein came with nicely chopped vegetables, chicken, barbecue pork and tail-on shrimp. Everything was delicious and fresh. I still had a little more room left after packing half of everything for my significant other; So I did take one more recommendation from Kathy. She suggests I try the Chicken Red Curry with a bowl of coconut rice. That was definitely a good choice. I was warned it would be a little spicy; But I thought it was just right :). It was so flavorful and well prepared that I could differentiate the basil, bamboo shoots, the fresh chicken, and lemongrass. I was equally impressed by how clean the tables, napkin wrapped cutlery, and glasses were. Even the owners came out to help Shylyn clear and set the tables with new table cloths after each customer. They had relaxing music playing at just the right volume to give neighbouring tables some privacy. Each dish came out hot and fast; Thanks to my wonderful server Shylyn. Shylyn was very friendly, efficient and extremely hard working. She also has very good hearing. When she was near the till area cleaning a table, the bell rang slightly that the food was ready; And she would briskly walk to the kitchen to bring out the food. The name of this restaurant is misleading, as they actually specialize in Chinese, Thai and Laotian food, but this doesn't matter when the food is so good! By far the best Chinese food I've had, and my family who have moved from town want to eat here every time they visit as they can't find anything better. I generally order from the Thai menu these days and it is always fresh and tasty! Yes the décor of the restaurant is very outdated, but I find that as part of the appeal, and once again this doesn't matter when you're getting such a quality meal. I've lived here over 20 years and the quality has been consistent throughout those years as well :)

I went to go there with my mom for a ladies lunch today. Google says it opens at 11:30. I didn't think to take a photo of the signs on the door. On the door it now says for take out only. They didn't open at 11:30 so I decided to call and there was an automated service that says they are only open for take out Tuesdays to Saturdays from 4:30 till their closing time. It would have been helpful to know this before travelling 1/2 an hour into town. My mom also has to travel 40 minutes into town. This needs to be updated so people aren't travelling for nothing. Was very disappointed.

A beef wrap and garden salad made in a hurry during a short train stop - thanks! Salad ok and the wrap tasty and lots of sauce.

The food there was amazing! The fries there are unlike any other restaurant I’ve been to. Crispy, yet so original! It may not be the most famous restaurant in the province, but they make good food, let alone present great service! That’s a 5-star rating from me. Keep up the good work!

They make incredible donairs using homemade meat and homemade sauce with freshly chopped onions and tomatoes. Their coated fries were crispy and hot. The gravy was just the right thickness and tasty. Well worth the 12 minute wait! Their pizzas are also very delicious; Got a great deal from their menu. 2 - 3 topping pizzas for $26.00, only $1.00 more than the 2 topping price. Generous toppings. Pictured below is the Italian Sausage, Bacon and Pepperoni. My other pizza is Ham, Pineapple & Mushrooms. And the best part? All food is prepared by family members which means top notch quality :) Rave to Mexican food at Tony's! I missed the Taco Time while living in Edmonton, so I had this super craving for Mexican food. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and it was awesome. The chicken breast strips were nicely seasoned and cut to the perfect size along with their fresh tomatoes. I liked that they used very little sour cream. The cheese and the crispy tortillas blended well together. With the generous serving of Quesadilla, the French Fries had to go home to enjoy ;) Taco Time move over; We've got a winner!

I recently visited Curry Capital and was thoroughly impressed. The food was incredibly flavorful and authentic. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a meal. What stood out most was the excellent service; the staff was friendly and attentive, enhancing our dining experience. I highly recommend Curry Capital to anyone looking for authentic and flavourful Indian food.

Recently had Lunch at The Curry Capital in Wainwright, and I must say it was an exceptional experience! The ambiance was lovely, the service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious. I particularly enjoyed Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine in the area.

Great food. Even greater service! Pinky was very accommodating and friendly. We ordered the Mango Lassi but found it a little sour to our liking. She immediately fixed it and brought a new one. She also gave our daughter a balloon to play with. Definitely recommended and we'll be back soon.

This review is solely based on service. My kids get to pick whatever they want to eat for their birthday supper. My son picked Royal Pizza this year. We planned our family birthday supper for Sunday. I checked with Google to ensure you were opened on Sundays, which it states that you are 4 pm - 8 pm. I even checked on the morning of the Sunday we were having the birthday supper to double check. I start calling at 4:05 pm. to place my order, but there is no answer. No voicemail picked up either. I checked your Facebook page to see if there was a post about being closed and nothing. I tried a few times and decided to drive into town to place my order in person because I needed to drive into town to pick up the pizza anyway. Once I arrive around 4:45 pm, I can see you're closed. I completely understand that sometimes small businesses need to close for whatever reason. With that said, I think you also have an obligation as a business owner catering to the public to take an extra step or two to notify potential customers if you are going to close outside your normal operation hours. A simple Facebook post would have been sufficient, considering you need to view the menu on Facebook. I also recommend updating your hours on Google when possible, or the very least a recording on the phone, letting customers know you are closed.

First Danero ever, and it was okay. Waited 45 minutes for our sit-down dinner. Husband liked his pizza sub.

Perfect little place. Stopped by passing through town and got a Beef Donair to go. Meat was really good and sweet sauce had great flavour.

Amazing food and service. Took the wife here for our anniversary dinner! The chef Dag went above and beyond to help us celebrate and cooked the most amazing steak we ever had. The staff was incredible in service and hospitality!!! Thanks Park and tressle for a most memorable meal!!

Very classy spot. Lots of tables, pool, and vlts. The staff are very warm. The bison and jam burger is an instant classic. I definitely recommend popping in for a brew.

5 stars because it's my go-to. Food is good during dining hours, could be more selection for snacks when the sun goes down. Drinks are average price, maybe even a bit below. 10/10 would recommend

Visited Osterian San Marco last evening, the ambiance of the place is quite cozy and welcoming, which set a positive start. However, the food didn't quite meet my expectations – it was unexpectedly salty. Also, the server mentioned most of the foods that google is showing as foods are pre ordered foods, they didn't have the thin crust pizza either! Additionally, I noticed that the server was managing the floor alone, which seemed quite challenging given the number of guests. This might have contributed to the longer wait time, as our two-course meal took about 45 minutes to prepare. I believe with adequate staffing and a slight adjustment in seasoning, this place has great potential. Hoping for a better experience next time!

Really enjoyed our 1st dinner here last night. Food was so delicious, high quality steaks cooked perfectly. Chicken Parm pasta was the best I’ve ever had. Our waitress was phenomenal, polite. Prices are very good. Owners are really nice and came to our table for a great conversation and laughs. Will definitely be returning. Nice atmosphere in the old museum.

Done just right. Pasta perfect pizzeria perfect. And that's onba delivery. Sometimes timing can get thrown off being delivered. ... Not these folks. ....nailed it as always. Came here for the first time for my Anniversary! Was sat right away, but the waitress never came back to take drink orders, the owner I think came by our table and explained the menu to us very informative! He took our drink order for us. The waitress came back in about 10 minutes and said to us 'so you guys want some food or what?' we've been sitting for almost 20 minutes, I eagerly replied yes. She took our order and didn't see her again until after we've eaten most of our meal. Everything was fantastic! The food was awesome as someone who doesn't eat alot of Mexican I really enjoyed it! Only mediocre part of our time here was the waitress.

Food , service and music were all amazing! The food was good portions decent prices. NACHOS ARE RECOMMEND!!! YOU'RE WELCOME. Good selection of drinks too both alcoholic and non. Great atmosphere for a fun night out.

We loved this authentic Mexican restaurant experience in the heart of Main Street Wainwright. Great food, Roca shrimp were on point, tacos same, and the best churo's this side of the 49th parallel. First time my Mom had them. The cocktail list is fantastic, mmmmm Mojito. Varied mexican music playing and some great decor. The real deal, Wainwright get on out! Ole!

Best Chinese takeout in the town. Way better than four seasons. Thank you for the great service and food.

Rave to Long's Chinese Take Out! My first time trying their cuisine and it was fantastic! * Order by the entrees instead of combination for the best value. Large Portions. The Cantonese Chow Mein had a delicious blend of shrimp, chicken, pork, onions, green onions and vegetables. It was well seasoned. The Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings had bigger pieces than I was expecting; But it was amazing nonetheless. The crispy batter with the minimal oil, mixture of onions, green and red peppers, and seasoning is definitely a winner! The Beef with Mushrooms & Ginger Hot Pot was awesome. The sauce was just the right thickness to put over rice. The mushrooms and beef were fresh and tasty. They had 2 tables of four should you wish to stop by on your way through town to eat. Even with take out, their containers held the heat extremely well and their portions are huge. Thank you to Quyen & his wife for a mouth-watering dinner. It won't be "Long" before we come back and try something new :)

Excellent food! We ordered for our new years crew the Szechuan Beef, Honey Garlic Pork, Pork Chow Mein, Curried Veg Fried Rice, S+S Chick ball and Spring Rolls. Everyone really enjoyed it! Portions were good sized, staff was polite and friendly over the phone and in person. Also wanted to say that my last employer would order from Long's for their big Christmas party in Dec, every year and everything was always delicious!!

Unfortunately, my wings were cold and had to be sent back. The next batch was great. My husband's dish wasn't hot either. I don't suggest the table by the kitchen door. There were plenty of other available seats.

What a Gem in a mid sized town. Beautiful restaurant with such out of the box bowls. Large kids portions, and the gyoza bowlworked great for my Asian craving! So much variety.

What a gem! The food was unreal and everyone in our party was so impressed with their meals, the service was friendly and accommodating, and it felt like home.

Rave! ... to the Four Seasons for a great lunch and excellent service with Mai :) I really enjoyed the Special Fried Rice with Chicken, Barbeque Pork, and Shrimp because it wasn't too salty and they used very little oil. The Beef Noodle Soup with the soft beef was okay. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp was fantastic! It wasn't too salty and the coating on it was crispy and cooked to perfection. The Shrimp they used was very big and tasty! It complimented our Special Fried Rice very well. It is very nice that they are open on the weekends, whether for lunch where the parking is plentiful or an evening buffet. This is definitely a place where we'll come back for all .... four seasons ;)

Best egg rolls we've had in over 10 years! Everything we had was good, portion sizes were more than enough, food was fresh, hot and flavorful.

My experience here is generally positive, but the inside could use a good cleaning. I think this would help alot with regards to how people would feel about this place. The outside has an old look I like but then it has the same inside that doesn't hold well. Food is good at a 4. People are very nice. I did think super casual Friday everyday was strange but not a big deal. I like the idea of the play area but I don't think they should let their kid past the counter for sanitary reason.

We have eaten at this location twice, both times Freya served us. She was very friendly and provided great service. The employer should feel lucky to have an employee like her represent their establishment!

A couple of months ago we tried ordering from Bar Burrito and it was awful. I tried online at first but their system wouldn’t put my order through so I had called to try and make the order, the guy left halfway through my order and said he would be back later while he got other customers orders. Tried a second time tonight and they were out of shrimp and said it would take 45 minutes for rice… very disappointed as other locations of this chain are far better ran.

Had a few concerns about my DoorDash order. Called twice and the first time they never answered but the second time they answered and never even said hello, and just hung up. Poor customer service.

I absolutely love this place. The food is by far the best breakfast I could ask for with a very decent price point. I highly recommend it and will definitely be going back!!

Great place, staff very friendly. The food was so good. I ordered a tea and got a big cup, loved it. My daughter gave it 10/10. If you can get past the floor and the age of it, It’s quaint. Most people who come in know each other that’s a small town atmosphere for sure. The lady who served us made me a tea to go, for free, Wonderful. I recommend this restaurant.

Spend a few night a year in Wainwright for work, always like coming to the Taphouse. Nice servers, good food and a cool atmosphere. The guy that I figure is the owner is always around and helping his team. Few different types of tables for all kinds of customers.

Food was OK, nachos could have been heated a little longer the cheese was not fully melted and they were cold when they arrived at the table. Prime rib was good. Chicken burger was the best item ordered. Lots of flavor and chicken was tender. It was not busy when we were here and there seemed to be lots of staff. But our waitress disappeared through out the meal. Drinks not refilled at all when the entrees arrived. Then when asked for refills it took 10 minutes to get water while the table beside us got water in 1 minute, different waitress. Finished meal and then waited with dirty dishes on the table for 15 minutes with no bill or waitress.

Great food very nice place with friendly service, food prices were very good but the drinks were expensive.
