Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Ponoka – 2024

Another amazing meal at the Pavilion! We ordered from the menu and, as usually, they did not disappoint. We had a couple of starters and each was as flavorsome as the next. I would definitely recommend just getting a couple from their menu and share them. Then for the mains we had a selection of curries. From a lamb vindaloo that will have you sweating but is too good to stop eating, to a chicken tika massala with spectacular flavors. I cannot recommend this amazing restaurant enough!

My wife and I decided to go out for supper. We ordered off the menu and the food was delicious. Wanted some dry ribs. Our waiter came back and said that there wasn’t enough for a full order. We were fine with that he then asked if we wanted to try some other food he offered us three different choices as samplers they were all absolutely delicious. When we were done he brought out the bill and never charged for the samplers that he gave us. Will definitely go back to eat again. Service excellent. Food excellent atmosphere fantastic.

Just tried here finally after talking about it for a couple years and let me tell you! It was so good I had the braised short ribs and it was absolutely delicious! The bones just fell right out it was so tender and delicious. Our server Marydel was an absolute GEM of a woman so nice. 10/10 would recommend this place!

I took my mom out for her birthday on Saturday. When we dine here my mom always gets steak and lobster and I get the prime rib. When we got there we were sat at a booth and our drink order was taken. When the girl came over and was taking our order she had to keep going to the kitchen to ask if they had the things we wanted for dinner. She seemed very uninterested in serving us because we were asking questions about the menu. When we got our food my mom's lobster was overcooked and the shell flaked off in her hand. Her steak was hard even though she ordered medium rare. When I got my food half of the prime rib was gristle and the other half wasn't even cooked at all. We waited for a waitress to come over and see how our dinner was but no one stopped by our table to talk to us or give us a refill on our drinks. When our waitress finally came over to take our plates I explained to her the issues with our dinner and she took my knife off of my plate and started poking at was left over and said "ok" before taking it to the kitchen. She was gone for a while and when we finally got the bill, nothing had been altered but there were extra charges on my bill. At that point I was so frustrated with the whole thing I just paid it and left. We won't be back if that's how they treat customers, not to mention charging that amount of money for food that was cooked so incorrectly. We paid good money for this experience. Very disappointing.

We stopped here today for a late lunch and it was fabulous! The soups and sandwiches were fresh and delicious! We really enjoyed looking at all of the unique decor and and chatting with the proprietor. This is a great little restaurant and we will be stopping here any time we are in the area. A great, eclectic little cafe in the centre of Ponoka. In my experience if you want good wholesome food that is made fresh, and tastes delicious, then pop in. The photograph is my ½ of the BLT sandwich which I shared with my mother as we weren't overly hungry; the BLT sandwich was excellent. Also on the menu, there were grilled cheese sandwiches, which, once the weather turns colder, will be most welcome with a small soup. Fresh water is offered in dinky little glasses; it felt very European, inviting, and delightful. We will definitely return when passing by.

Dropped into The Crow late one afternoon for a snack, and quite frankly I enjoyed my short visit to this quaint restaurant in Panoka AB. I had the crow's feet (Korean Beef flavour), and the Humis with veggies and bread. Both were very tasty and satisfying. Service was friendly and informative regarding the space itself. They have been open for about 18 months & are definitely worth checking out!

If I were ordering from a kids' menu, I would understand the portion size. But after I left, I literally went to Wendy's to grab another burger as I left hungry . Otherwise, it was good...

I had the sirloin steak special. Very tender and flavourful. The waiter Shawn was courteous and prompt. Highly recommend this establishment.

The #1 spot to get the best pizza in central Alberta. I have yet to have a bad meal from here, and delivery is ALWAYS piping hot. Even living a 10 min drive away. Always have to let it cool down after getting it. Great family run business with great food.

We were so excited to visit here for the first time. We arrived at 1:33pm and we were greeted with " We are closing at 2pm". I replied " well that's ok we can order something to go". The owner( or waiter) replied " we don't do take away so we can't service your needs." So his message was clear that he did not want to accommodate us in any way, not even with a cup of tea. As soon as the owner ( or waiter) saw my support puppy I could see and feel the tension her presence created right away, so his very unwelcoming, abrupt, cold response reaffirmed and matched this assumption/ observation 100%. We felt hurt, disappointed and very discriminated against. As we were leaving I said loudly to hubby " this was definitely our first and last time here for sure". It would've taken zero effort to be a little cordial and extend some sort of future hospitality, but, sadly, we were only shooed away like some unwanted pests. What a terrible experience that left us feeling that we didn't deserve their service. We decided to venture across the street to a different restaurant, The Pavillion,and we were so happy we did and had a wonderful lunch where our support puppy was accepted, welcomed back anytime.

What a gem of a historic building, with the best lunch around! Terry and Mike are no strangers to the restaurant world, and it shows in the details. The food is as delicious as it always has been, with a new building to show it off. Looking forward to many a lunch date here!

First time visit. Cute lunch shop. Beautiful and interesting interior decor. The location is well taken care of and extremely clean. Ordered the CC Slider (Grilled BBQ Chicken with Cheese) with a side of mushroom soup (soup of the day). Ice tea to drink. Sandwich was amazing, crispy, and tasteful. The soup was amazing as well. Service was very, very good. They chatted with everyone and made everyone feel welcome. Definitely will visit again.

This was an unplanned stop on our way through Ponoka. We were very pleased with everything. The food was delicious and portions were good. The service was great. It was a bit rundown looking and the men's toilet was out of order, but other than that everything was fantastic.

Divine! Driving down from Edmonton off to camping and needed a quick bite. Prices were cheap, food was delicious, and took the right amount of time to come out (ya know not too quick). Never been to Ponoka before so I can’t say much else except that they got good pho. Great gluten free options!

Reasturant staffs daughter sat at a table right by us picking her nose for 20 min.. the carpet is disgustingly dirty. Not a clean looking place. Milk tea was really good. Food was OK. Squid was bland but cooked properly. My seafood soup, ended up being shrimp only as I can't have crab and they were out of fish balls. The broth was not the best. Deep friend wontons had the texture of dry ribs and also bland. All in all I likely won't be back. The cleanliness of the space really put me off and the food wasn't amazing as it has been previously.

This was my second time eating here and it was just as amazing as the first time. I have literally been wanting to go back since my first visit. The food is incredible, the presentation is spectacular and the service is fantastic. If only I could give more than 5 stars!

Server was really nice. I had the fish and chips, and my daughter had the clubhouse sandwich. She really liked the sandwich, and she said the fruits were her favourite kind. Seasoned and coated, apparently...? The fish and chips was ok. The fish was a bit too crispy my liking, and I am not a big fan of that style of fries, but again, my daughter really liked them. It was a very clean restaurant. There is a bar side, which we did not go into, but it looked nice in there.

One of the best restaurant I've ever went to. Staffs were friendly, the foods were delicious, and the prices were reasonable. Would totally go back there again and try all their menu one by one.

I did a pickup order around 4pm when they weren't busy. The food was ready in about 15-20 minutes. Everything was hot and fresh. The veggies were crunchy, the meat was moist and tender and the sauces were very good. The staff was very polite and cheerful.

Delicious food that was ready quickly. I especially love the ginger beef. Service is always great, the staff are so friendly, nice, and helpful whether it’s dine in, take out or delivery. Highly recommend!

Love how they have four choices for dinner for one. I had C & hubby had D with a steamed rice substitute.

Great experience. Went for breakfast on a Friday. Only downside was they were open at 9am but didn’t serve Eggs Benedict until 11am. Minimal breakfast during the week till 11am. Service was great and food tasted good.

Incredible place to eat! I've gone here for business and personal gatherings, and have never been disappointed. The food is phenomenal and I've never had a bad dish. The service is on par, all of the servers are incredibly friendly and helpful. Way to go Eighteen91!!!

Amazing food, Drinks and Service! My wife had the Steak Sandwich and I had the Buffalo Chicken Caesar Wrap and we shared the Bruschetta. Everything was delicious. The Chili Coconut Margarita was SO good. We’re very happy to have this great spot in town and will be back!

Ordered pizzas from here last weekend for the first time. They were so freaking good! We got the special deal of 2 pizzas, wings & a 2L pop, and it was pretty good value for the money, compared to some places. Simple Hawaiian & veggie pizzas hit the spot. We will definitely order from here again.

I have eaten from Cosmic the last year i have been in Ponoka it's by far one of the best pizza joints in town. I would highly recommend trying them out extremely affordable and they have all the topping you could ask for. Order any size pizza and you can build it your own with no extra fees per topping. My all time fav is: Large - Pepperoni, Ham, Green Peppers, Pinapple, Black Olives This pizza will blow your mind i hope you enjoy, if you try it leave like!

Just got my order. Ordered a Hawaiian pizza, and a donair.Pizza looks great but the medium donair looks like a sloppy mess and not a medium donair, Just fell apart when I opened the wrapper .

Always such a great meal from here. Nice to have a local place in Ponoka that isn’s about the frill, they are about having decent food. If it isn’t up to your standard, you should probably go to Edmonton and pay double. I love this place.

Like what the hell. If I am ordering food I would like real food made from that restaurant not frozen food from a grocery store and charge me three time the price of the store. And its about half the frozen $5.00 pack for $15.95 never will I be ordering for you again and never will I recommend to anyone BOO

Just move to Ponoka and ordered take out. The food was fantastic and great service. The building is a little sketchy because it is under construction but it's worth going.

Went for a meal with my family and was met with a wonderful front staff who got us seated but we waited 20 minutes with no waiter and one of the staff just staring at us. The place was pretty empty on both sides. And when we decided to leave they were all standing together chatting. I’m not sure but we feel it might have to do with our race because others where getting served but not us plus we where seated in a different area from others as well. I’m not impressed in the slightest. It important to look at every one equally. Or at least let us know it will be a minute because someone is on break.

Not sure the restaurant side but the staff on the lounge is great. Efficient fun engaging other patrons were really friendly. I was passing through and sat up at the bar.

I've tried their wings, New York sirloin, Chicken Alfredo pasta, steak sandwich, Mediterranean pizza, mousse cake. Their wings, Mediterranean pizza, chicken alfredo pasta, and mousse cake were very good. The steak and steak sandwich were not that good, the sandwich was bland and didn't really taste good. Their service varies on the server, most of the time it's good. It's definitely on the pricer side.
