Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Grande Prairie – 2024

Such amazing food! We made the mistake of ordering an appie to share between the 2 of us; it was delicious but we left half to take home, & thank heaven! Neither of us could finish our dinners. The salmon was perfection; the gnocchi & shrimp covered with a most unusual but fabulous mushroom sauce. Very conscientious of food allergies & obliging of substitutions. We highly recommend.

Very nice and quiet Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxing and the scenery I could see was appealing. I had the veal dish with pasta and vegetables and a side of asparagus. The food was terrific, especially the veal! Probably the best veal I've ever experienced. The prices are also very reasonable for the outstanding quality. I'd much rather pay $30 on an exquisite dish here than $30 on a half decent burger at some other places...

Supper for 2 Bruschetta was good, the bread was different but still delicious but there was supposed to be shrimp on it but neither me or my husband could taste any. My husband had a special with breaded veal, he liked it. My seafood pasta was not great. The pasta was not homemade and ver heavy. The flavour was good but I couldn’t get past the awful texture of thick, heavy pasta. Probably won’t be back.

We had to wait about 5 minutes to get in (which isn't bad). We were seated at a large booth. Our main gripe was that we had to wait 22 minutes after we ordered our waters. I was worried that they sat us down and forgot about us. After that hiccup, everything went smoothly. Kitchen staff did an amazing job preparing my Baja Tacos, and my fiancee's grilled cheese burger. The fries with dill dip is delicious.

Myself and my colleagues had a fantastic dinner experience at State and Main in Grand Prairie, AB. We were a group of eight, and the restaurant was able to accommodate us with ease. Our server, Keara, was exceptional. She efficiently took our drink, appetizer, and entrée orders, ensuring everything was spot on. The meal itself was delicious. I ordered the salmon, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pistachio butter was a delightful addition that elevated the dish. My colleagues ordered various steaks, and each one was cooked to perfection, from rare to medium – the kitchen truly impressed us. A big shoutout to Keara for her excellent service. The service started out just fine. The waitress recommended the fish and chips and I ordered them. The food was dropped off by someone who wasn't our waitress and we never saw her again. The fish and chips were terrible! Mostly batter, not much fish. The fish was greasy and had absolutely no flavor. If I go back, I won't order fish and chips.

First time trying this place out today! I got the Vesuvius sandwich with sauerkraut, and the daily soup special (okra, rice, chicken, etc). As well as a Black Forest cannoli. It was absolutely fantastic. Definitely a great place to grab …

This place is a gem. The sandwiches are delicious, the cheese selection is amazing and it’s our go-to spot for Italian grocery items. Bonus: impossible-to-find Italian and Sicilian beers. The staff is welcoming and the owner, Tony, is friendly and always takes a few moments to chat. We love this place.

Great new spot in town. The Arugula Prosciutto Pizza was delicious, the crust on the pizza was spot on. Staff were attentive, friendly, and the space was clean and is well laid out to accommodate friends and family. Happy to see a new spot offer brunch; we’ll be returning this weekend to check it out and will share our experience of that as well!

First off the food was incredible. I can't wait to go back. The service was a little weird you have to go up to order which is fine but they didn't seem to know much about the wines or much more about the menu than what it said on it. It kinda feels like a fast food restaurant when you walk in. There wasn't many other people in there and I did feel a little over dressed in a simple summer dress and jean jacket as all the other patrons were in sweat pants and sweaters that were on the definitely more casual side of things (noted for next time ) I found the pricing fair for the food as it was delicious and a good portion. The wine was on the pricey side for the open bottles of cheap wine they had sitting there to pick from. The gelato was under priced in my opinion 10/10 for the strawberry one. Will definitely go back for the food but the atmosphere is lacking in my opinion.

We ordered a pizza through Skip. I want to be clear the skip delivery and courier was fantastic. The pizza literally upon arrival went right in the garbage. It was cold, didn't have the toppings we paid extra, ie extra cheese, sausage, onions and peppers.... there wasn't any cheese, and was not well done, it was old and cold. It was $35.00 I've never received such a horrible dish. Big fail here. Keep your money and go to a drive through...

So it was my birthday and my husband and I were prepared to drop some cash on a luxurious evening. Finished my iced tea if two gulps there was so much ice…and then the server didn’t bring me another one or ask if I wanted more when he took my glass away…that was before the first course even arrived. Got our first course…the tuna roll…Earl…you need to fire your sushi chef who was working this evening. The roll was not even the size of a quarter in diameter and was falling apart…I could have made a better roll myself. I ordered the fillet mignon medium…I know everyone likes their stake a little different but the menu literally describes it as pink warm inside…this was borderline well done and the “Seasoned Veggies” that came with it was just squash with a little salt and pepper. See photos, for the above. My husband had the burger and said it was salty but at least it had a decent amount of bacon. Bottom line…we were expecting luxury…and we didn’t receive any.

I really liked the cafe and its design. The dishes were tasty, the portions were large. Very friendly staff and high level service.

Amazing food, service and environment. Walking distance from Sandman Hotel. Had vegetarian dish and dessert cheesecake. One of the best Lunch I had here in GP. My colleague tried the burger and loved it and later got the same dessert I did.

I was in Grande Prairie for a night and decided to stop here for dinner. I was not disappointed at all and rather very happy with my choice. Really nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good foods and good drinks. I would recommend this restaurant.

Is it just me that’s getting annoyed with the half bowls of soup Browns is dishing out but at a full price. Getting ridiculous. Thanks for your response. You better check your facts. That’s an 8oz cup with approximately 5.5oz of soup. The soup shortage has been going on for over a year and have mentioned it to several servers. All I’m saying is give your customers what they’re more than willing to pay for. I have a video to back up the facts or I encourage you to check yourself. Thanks.

The food was delicious. The drinks were excellent. Must try the watermelon martini. Great deals during social hours. Fast and quick service has to be highlighted. Could be busy during peak hours and Sunday evening. Crispy cauliflower was my favorite dish. Both indoor and outdoor dining option is available. Overall a great dine in option in Grande Prairie. Definitely recommend Browns socialhouse.

I was up for a work trip, Emily was fantastic, with fast and friendly service! The food was great, I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with a poutine on the side. The chicken was nice and crispy, and the poutine was good.

The Brewhouse is warm, inviting and has super friendly staff. My Wife and I both ordered wings and a beer and we were not disappointed. The selection of beers on Tap paired with a good atmosphere made for a great night. Our waitress Brittney P, was so friendly. She gave great recommendations, was patient with us taking time to order, and generally just very personable and funny. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!

Love the vibes in this place!! I took my partner for a date night and we had a fantastic evening! Food was good and service was immaculate! Our servers name was Liberty, she was lovely to talk to and get to know, she suggested some of her favs and we ended up ordering them and we were NOT disappointed! Keep it up Brewhouse!

If you are seeking a recommendation for a suitable breakfast establishment, I would like to suggest a hidden gem located in Grande Prairie. The culinary offerings, particularly during breakfast hours, are exceptional and worthy of high praise.

The food is amazing i love the turkey its super good, The staff there are very nice. Me,my uncle and my aunt (she has a very bad alergy and never had any probs here) love going here to get brunch the owner is very nice (i have met him 1 time he let me,ny sister and my uncle in trader jacks also very nice) i would go here again AND i highly recommend

Fantastic breakfast served there. The ambience was great and the service was friendly. I never had an empty coffee mug, can't go wrong with that.

Best food in GP. Eat in or take out it’s your best bet. Everything on the menu is spot on and delicious. Check it out for a show, or just on a slow night to play some pool and grab some eats.

Me and some friends went in for appies and a few drinks last weeks. The food was absolutely horrible but the waitress was really nice and the drinks were good. The place needs a complete overhaul. Everything is outdated and falling apart. Love that they bring in great bands and have lots of pool tables.

The staff at Fred’s can’t be beat, the girls are beautiful, the bartenders are studs, the food makes you feel good.

So I am a bit of a food snob. Ive lived in big Metropolitan areas like Montréal and have some pretty high standards for cuisine. I generally shy away from chains as they almost always disappoint. I went to The Keg a few times as a young person with my parents in Saskatoon , but don't remember much about it. That said, I've heard so many people rave about it that I decided for our 15th wedding anniversary to give it a try. I made a reservation 2 weeks before the date. I confirmed it and also noted this was a special occasion. When we arrived 10 minutes early, we were taken downstairs and seated at a high table for 8 right next to the bar!!! It was loud with blender going and had the atmospheric tilt of a round of beers with the boys after a game. I was so disappointed. We decided to ask to be moved and decided if they couldn't move us into the restaurant upstairs, we would leave and go eat elsewhere. Luckily, we were moved. It ended up great and I was actually so impressed with the food! The lobster bisque blew my mind. The new york strip cooked to perfection, and the twice baked potato divine. Our server upstairs was excellent and attentive. So, overall... Was Great. Will absolutely go again. Still confused how and why two people clearly on an important date ended up downstairs in the lounge at a giant corner table next to the bar, with a confirmed reservation made weeks in advance. Seems bizarre to me still! However, I am happy they were responsive to our dissatisfaction and made it right.

Service is absolutely spot-on, as usual. Atmosphere is laid back, and I like that the lounge isn't as "crowded" as it used to be. Food was perfect. However, I'm not sure "value for dollar" is there, especially with the price increases that have been implemented. (Sorry about the photo. My wife had already torn into her dinner by the time I took the picture).

We decided to splurge and go to the keg for our one year dating anniversary. Nicole went above and beyond for us ! The food was so good and then we got surprised with cake which was delicious. We have both questioned why we waited so long to go ! 110% recommend

If I could give a higher review I would. The atmosphere was nice and music was good, not too loud. The service was awesome. Our waitress Sara came around just the right amount of times and knew what to recommend. She found out it was our anniversary and ended up giving us a dessert for free which was not expected but a very nice treat. I ordered the flat iron steak which I have to admit I had no idea what it was at first but then looked it up and decided to order it. It was by far the best steak I have ever eaten, anywhere. 10/10 recommended. My wife ordered the trail blazer burger which was huge and she also said it was one of the best burgers she has had. She got the wood chips (fries) with it and we have never had those before not being from the area but they were super tasty. Everything was cooked to perfection. Cannot say enough good things about this place. Go try it!

The turkey u erased served for thanksgiving was like eating jerky. Hard, and really dry. Was clearly made Several days ago. I got wings to Go and cost me $18 plus tax. Smallest wings I've seen in a very long time not worth the cost.

Love this place! It's an amazing place to stop by, listen to good music, and eat some great food. The establishment was very clean. The staff was super friendly and attentive! The fried pickles here are the best I've ever tasted throughout all of my traveling! Hands down!! The ribs lived up to their name and fell off the bone!

We celebrated Father’s day here and everything was perfect—the food, the service, the ambiance! It was so busy so we thought we’re going to wait long but there’s no waiting time at all!

My husband and I recently traveled to Grande Prairie where we went to a favorite from back home, Stony Plain. Sadly this location did not live up to the standards and expectations that we have come to know and love from our local location. Our server was fairly slow and only came by to take our order, quality check our food and bring the bill. His other team members did help out by bringing refills and removing our dirty/empty plates. The food was OK, we started with the lodge chips and spinach dip. The lodge chips barely had any seasoning on them. My husband ordered the peppercorn steak pasta and I ordered the ribeye steak dip. The pasta was somewhat bland and the steak dip meat was very tough to chew and had random crunchy bites. Sadly we were quality checked even before we had really tasted the food. I will say though that the location is beautifully decorated and well lit.

We were there to celebrate 2 birthdays and the food & service was great!

Spent our thanksgiving dinner earlier in Sawmill Grande Prairie. The service we received from Kate and Christian were exceptional. We had tomahawk dinner and it was delicious and beyond what we expected. They sliced the steak for us and it was the perfect. This is one of the most unforgettable dinner for our small family. Even if it was a busy night for the restaurant but the service was still topnotch. We could not ask for more and definitely coming back.

My husband and I Celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary here tonight and it was fantastic. Food was great and the service was amazing. Was also given a beautiful anniversary card signed by all staff which was supper sweet and Our sever Terence was absolutely wonderful Will definitely be back again soon

Food is always consistent and good and portions are large. My younger siblings adore this place and it’s got a great menu for little ones and free coloring sheets! Kind servers and fairly fast service depending on the day, they can get busy but that’s only expected.

Disappointed was the original review posted 9 months before this update. Tried Moxie's again and just won't be going back again ever. Things started out fine, great prompt service from a wonderful waitress. Appetizers were the highlight of the meal and looked good as you can see in the pics. The rack of ribs was so cold I could stick my finger in and not feel any heat. It wrecked the whole experience for me. They discounted the item and said the manager would discuss the problem with us. The manager never showed up, so hence the bad review...again.

What can i say about Moxies in Grande Prairie Alberta other than excellant. Food was over the top. Had Thai soup which was recomenned and did not fall short. The flavours where incrediable. Had your mouth dancing for another bite. Waitress was excellent. friendly. Came over several times and asked how where things. Nothing bad to say.

Jackd burger is unreal. Lasagna is excellent. I will totally come back here soon.
