Great food! The spring chicken and dumplings tasted like Thanksgiving if the food were made by an actual chef instead of your Aunt Margaret. The classic pizza was tasty and everything was very fresh. Our server was super friendly and did a great job! Highly recommend. Update: everything is still delicious! Tried the roast ham, barbecue chicken pizza, and a couple of tasty desserts.

I ordered the filet mignon, and the bar tender said there was no need for a steak knife… she was right, I cut it with a regular knife. it was an excellent preparation. Nice ambiance. Good service. Definitely a nice place for a date night, family outing, work dinner etc. ( I took pictures of the inside because I’m a weirdo who always wants to know how people are dressed at a restaurant before I go to decide what is acceptable attire)

Very prompt service, lovely atmosphere, menu is not large but what we ordered was very good. We had the grouper sandwich which came with fries (the fish was great but the bun was a little dry & crumbly) and the steak pizza which was awesome!

NEAT BUILDING ! Lots of history since being built in 1912 .They have a huge lunch buffet . I wasn't that hungry , so I had soup and salad bar for $9 . Shrimp Bisque & Swamp Soup were very good . House dressing was awesome, and the fried biscuits were delicious . My friendly , helpful waitress informed me that dessert was only included in the lunch buffet . I asked about the pudding cake & she told me to go get some on the house . Southern hospitality at its finest ! I hope I tipped her enough !

I love this place! From the very threshold you are immersed in a fairy tale. Big thanks to the owners for not only feeding people, but also lifting their spirit

I am amazed at the 5 star reviews. This was my first and will definitely be my last time at the now coined “Bates Motel”. Our hostess/waitress/cashier was very nice and attentive however, the atmosphere was a bit creepy and confusing. I love historic buildings. The building itself is delightful but the ambience is off. There’s crystal chandeliers and white tablecloths with cloth napkins folded and displayed so neatly. The dinnerware and glasses are plastic and heavy duty stainless silverware. White craft paper over the tablecloth. Now let’s get to the food. It appears as your southern style buffet that your grandmother made. Theres mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac and cheese, green beans, fried chicken and fish. Then you taste it. The Mac tasted like the heat and serve bagged macaroni. Gravy tasted like it was from a jar with a weird twist. Couldn’t eat the salad with my two toppings because my ranch didn’t taste like ranch and it was chunky. Fish wasn’t bad. Husband loved the fried chicken. Green beans were a bit peppery but that was about the extent of flavor. To top it all off, my knife looked like it had already been used. We ate what we could, then paid $46 and change without tip! Fool me once but not again.

Sarah Jane, the event coordinator goes above and beyond what is expected of her she’s quick to respond to your phone calls and is good at scheduling. She did an amazing job with my son’s birthday and we’re going to come back for more events every year. My pictures are just screenshot it just to show an example of how good she is at taking pictures as well. Again, thank you Sarah for all the hard work you did. It was much appreciated.

After a disappointing experience at Captains Choice Seafood Restaurant inside Gulf Bowl, I decided to give it another try based on the owner’s sincere efforts to make things right. I’m happy to report that our return visit was a complete turnaround. The food was great this time—well-cooked, seasoned perfectly, and delicious. The service was also excellent, a significant improvement from our previous visits. It was clear that the management had taken our feedback seriously and made substantial changes. The staff was attentive and professional, and it was evident that they were more engaged and focused on providing a positive dining experience. I was pleased to see the older lady with short hair again, and this time, she had plenty of help from her colleagues. Overall, I’m impressed with the improvements and happy to recommend Captains Choice Seafood Restaurant once more. It’s great to see a business take customer feedback to heart and make real changes. We went for a quick and easy meal at Gulf Bowl. The bartender was prompt and courteous. Got a cheeseburger with Crinkle fries - the burger was a little bit overcooked, however, not bad. Chicken Quesadillas were on point. Service was spot on.

Decided to stop here, and glad we did! It was very good! Our server Shelly was very nice. My boyfriend got the shrimp tacos and said they were delicious. I got the fried shrimp basket, and it was very good! Definitely a good stop for something quick to eat.

I made a great choice of where to eat in Foley. From helping with my order, getting my food to me while hot and throughout, my server, Shelley was fantastic. She's been there for several years and a true asset. The food is exceptional, and the value is too.

This place was incredible!! The food was great! The atmosphere was great! The service was absolutely top notch! My husband and I enjoyed everything we ordered! For appetizers, I highly recommend the coconut shrimp and the corn fritters! For the main entree, I had the shrimp and catfish basket and it was incredible. I can’t get over how fresh everything tasted. The catfish was so soft and tender. It was amazing! I had never had shrimp slaw, so that was new and interesting!

I went to the place as a surprise to my girl friend and it was really lovely. The ambiance was as if we were under water on a ship. Extremely beautiful and the staff were friendly. Jomar was our server and he was as polite as ever soft spoken and sounded like the ocean. Would definitely recommend

Stopped in for a quick lunch and enjoyed everything! The boom boom shrimp appetizer was delicious as was the Superior Boil Special— which is enough for two to share! Jomar was very pleasant and attentive during our meal. Will definitely dine again!

We went to Superior Crab looking for some good seafood - and we found it! My husband loved the gumbo and coconut shrimp. My grilled crab cakes were fabulous along with the hushpuppies. My husband was not a fan of the 80s music but otherwise the atmosphere was very clean and bright. The service was excellent very attentive. We will definitely come back!

Pretty good traditional breakfast spot. Service was extremely slow as they were very crowded on a Sunday morning. Took about 45 minutes for my order of a pancake, 2 eggs, grits and bacon. They forgot the bacon then rushed out a burnt replacement. Manager was very nice. He came by even though I had not asked for him and poured a free mimosa. If I hadn’t been driving, that would have hit the spot. Even with the slow service I would recommend this place. I think they just had a busy morning.

Our first time here There is always a first time for something My wife and I, decided to look for a place to eat early lunch but when we arrived, that place was closed. So we decided to look for another place and we found this restaurant. Their breakfast was good, I had an omelette and coffee. Then we ordered a cinnamon roll!! It was really good!! We liked the atmosphere, our waitress was very joyful and attentive. I know I keep saying this over and over on my comments but I wish restaurants started making their own homemade biscuits. It will really elevate the breakfast experience.

Absolutely fantastic experience! We arrived to a fairly busy restaurant, and received extremely fast service. I tried the Rueben with Onion Rings, both were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The coffee was great. One of the owners came out and checked on us along with a pleasant conversation. I’ll definitely be stopping back by, highly recommend!!

Lunch today, 5 10 24. I had the Steak n cheeses, quesadilla,with SC, a small cup of chopped Pico. Mmm, very good!! Again, all the staff very friendly and on time. *********************** First time there with our lunch bunch friends. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, no complaints whatsoever. I had the Blueberry pancakes, they covered the whole plate, I've never had pancakes served hot and stay hot throughout, the bacon good n crispy. Others ordered the Reuben, the Cuban and a BLT, all the sandwiches were full!! Fries were good too. Plenty of space for groups.

Our first experience was for Easter Brunch! Julia was our server and she was super sweet and attentive. The buffet had a great selection and every thing was delicious. It is much larger than it looks from the front. Has a game room with soft seating in the back. We’ll be back to try the Chicago style pizza! Reasonably priced! Highly recommend

This place quietly opened recently and we stumbled upon it. I think it is a relocation. I have to say the experience was great. Lovely place with a lot to offer. Breakfast was fantastic. We don’t have to drive far to have a great breakfast now ! Great addition to downtown Foley. Wish them many many years of success. Friendly staff also.

Amazingly good catfish(Mississippi catfish filets)! Tried some of my husband's fried gator and that was great too! Relaxing vibe and friendly staff. Not a coleslaw or hushpuppy person but my table thought they were good.

No place on the eastern shore of Mobile has a better price point for a white fish basket. Fish, fried to perfection, French fries, okra and cole slaw along with a couple of hush puppies. The portion size is enough to feed two people. The taste always draws me back for a last meal before heading back to the Northcoast for the summer. Nothing fancy, just good and plentiful food at a great price.

The food is very typical fried seafood and burgers. Nothing special. The server was attentive and pleasant. The gumbo was served cold but the server replaced it with hot gumbo. The only thing with color is the salad. Not a good place if you are wheat intolerant. We were there because of others in our group; it’s just not our kind of place. I will not return.

Hopper was the best server ever. He was super friendly, gave us the best advice about where the locals go. Food was excellent. We had the blackened and fried cobia and the fried green tomatoes. The salad bar was fresh and beautiful. The house wine was good too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my first time to visit this restaurant and I was shocked at the size both the gift shop and dining area. I was impressed on all counts. While we waited for seats, we had a chance to browse the interesting items that were for sale. Once seated we ordered an appetizer and drinks and they were delicious. Our server, Mark, was awesome and made sure we had fresh drinks and kept us informed about the progress of our meal. Awesome service!! The main course was pretty good and there were many items on the menu that I wanted to try to will have to come back again later

Great food at a great price. Wonderful atmosphere, A1 service. Couldn't ask for a better server. Always a pleasure to come here and eat. We highly recommend.

Would have given one more star if they had gone the extra mile by using separate meat in the entrees that were not the regular meatballs for the gluten-free pasta. The shrimp I had was great, but I wanted the stuffed pepper but thankfully the server told me it was not gluten-free. Lots of Gelato choices as well to pick from for dessert.

Best food in Baldwin County! We frequently drive from Fairhope because it’s so amazing! The roast beef sandwich with au jous melted in our mouths, and the bread was so perfect. The pastrami sandwich was also delicious. The waitress, Amanda, went above and beyond. She even filled our dog’s water bottle with ice water. The deck atmosphere is so relaxing and fun. Amanda was my waitress & she was so sweet and attentive. Great patio seating and a decent beer selection. I had fried ravioli, fried green beans & a strawberry salad. Food was delish as always. Of course I’ll be back! Don’t forget to grab some Oreo balls!!

What a great place to eat! We went there for the first time. We will definitely be back. The service is as phenomenal and the food? They were so fresh and they were delirious ! We like the fact that you can select the volume of your meal (small or large)

First visit to this area, for a quick vacation. Tried a few more popular local places on the shore. Stumbled upon Portabella’s as a last minute dinner idea. We were served the best meal we had on this trip. Best pizza crust we’ve ever had! And the service was top notch.

Overall this place was decent. The food was definitely bland, but it was hot and fresh. The restaurant itself is small but we didn't have a problem getting a table. It's definitely a place where locals go and with the extremely reasonable prices, I can definitely see why. I am happy to recommend this local spot!

2024 0725, what a great time we had last night! Food, service and atmosphere were all great! Heather was saw friendly and was a great server! Bam Bam Chicken delicious! The burger my wife had was absolutely amazing! Ask for Heather's area, she was so sweet and had great recommendations!

Took a little longer than expected to get our order and it wasn't too busy. Our waiter was very nice. Lots of TVs and a comfortable atmosphere. Everything tasted pretty good.

This was my first time eating at Baumhower’s! Their food is spectacular as well as their service! The waiter made me feel welcomed! Great selection of food! Highly recommended! Definitely coming back when visiting Foley again!

Catch the HOT rolls fresh out of the oven when they throw them... Get there early always a line,but it goes fast... Food is good never had anything bad... Table's are bench type seats , but not bad... Love all of the old antiques hanging on the wall.puts it back in time a little bit. Have fun and enjoy!!

This place was so good. I liked everything about it. Good old fashioned cooking. The throwed rolls makes it fun too. I like the shared plates such a great idea. Then you can try different things. We shared a lot of our food.

Lambert's is a real experience. We loved having lunch in this Cafe with its themed setting and generous good portions. A highlight was the continuous offerings of complimentary extras, especially the beautiful warm bread rolls. It was great to see the famous bread throwers in action and their accuracy was impeccable. The bread was straight from the oven and delicious. The servers were also excellent and looked like they had fun doing their jobs. This is a place not to be missed and excellent value for money with reasonably priced dishes.

Amazing staff! Very hospitable. The owner is a real gentleman and has great vision. Loved all the food. From the fried chicken to the freshly made bread. Their Mac N Cheese was the bomb! My daughter tried fried okara for the first time, and ate all mine ! Very welcoming for everyone young and old. 5 stars 1,000 percent!!!

Absolutely DELICIOUS peach cobbler! The homemade ice cream is to die for! So CREAMY! The fried pork chops insanely yummy! Macaroni and cheese so good! And the okra, best we have ever had. WOW so good!

I had read the reviews and was intrigued. I must say they did not disappoint. Crepes were different than I've had before but they were very good. The melding of the flavors in the poke bowls was amazing. I love to eat fresh and this was the perfect spot. Was confused about the sign above the door but don't be deterred amazing poke bowls are inside.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. When we walked in we were greeted very warmly. They graciously took the time and explained menu items to us. And when we ordered we could see the food being made, and it was all very fresh. Their poke bowls are absolutely delicious, and all the flavors very well balanced. The desert crepes are indulgent. The decor is charming. Definitely recommended.

The owners of this restaurant are some of the hardest working people I have come to meet. They always offer quality food and service. It’s also beautiful to watch them all work together as a family. The place is also always clean and orderly. The food selection itself is one of the tastiest options that is also healthy in our area. This is our favorite spot for a quick delicious and healthy meal.
