Best Restaurants Open for Newyears Eve this year in Fairhope – 2024

We have been here once before and the food was just as delicious. Our waiter, Jacob (?) was the same as last time, great with recommendations and great with ideas. I am a fish/seafood lover, my hubby not so much so he got the burger which he said was one of the best around. I got the special, red fish over mushroom risotto and sautéed squash. Again delicious.

Food is almost always 5 stars, but today’s bacon was undercooked (I had ordered well done crispy). Server noticed it immediately and told me she had ordered more, so she handled it perfectly without me pointing it out. My husband’s eggs were undercooked, but he ate them anyway without complaining. This is still our favorite place to eat and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. The strawberry frosé is always a winner on summer days. Crunchy French toast is fabulous too.

Stopped in for lunch one day and found the restaurant much larger than it looks. Sunset Pointe definitely has the small town look and feel. The servers are friendly and the staff is helpful. Drinks were cold and pours were plentiful. It has indoor seating and a bar inside. Outdoor seating area is covered and has plastic flaps on the sides for inclement weather. They also have fans and heaters as well as an open air seating with fire pit. Im sure the sunset view is nice as the outdoor area faces West. Back of the house is fairly quick and the food is delicious. I had the Sunset salad with blackened mahi. Fully recommend this great hidden locals spot. I'll definitely be going back! Took Hubby to Thyme on Section last Wed (06/13/24) for an early Father's Day treat. We both had the Grouper BLT plus truffle fries along with a Goat Island Sipsy River Red Ale. It was memorable and I don't say that too often. It was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Highly recommend and we will be going back as this is one of those meals, I will crave.

The whole vibe of this place was absolutely stunning. I loved the high raised ceiling with the barnyard beams. The brunch was delicious as well. I tried the apple pancakes and they were great, probably some of the best I've ever had. The place looked like it was very nicely run and the staff and Cooks cared and were friendly. The cozy brunch was a perfect way to spend a Sunday morning. Edit: I went a second time for lunch and it was even better. Get those sweet potato fries! I definitely recommend this place. The staff and food were absolutely amazing.

I enjoyed an excellent meal punctuated by great service and tasty cocktail. The shrimp ceviche was tasty and the chips were a hit. The chicken salad was highlight of the meal.

Hubby and I went to Southern Roots last week. We shared the mushroom risotto and beef tenderloin. Also each had a glass of wine. Food was really delicious. Mushroom risotto is plentiful and not sure I would be able to eat this by myself. Really rich and went perfectly with the tenderloin. Steak was prepared to a perfect medium rare, very tender and flavorful. Server was great, but not sure service would be consistent with a fine dining experience. Atmosphere is beautiful and we were seated next to the window as we requested. Even though it is quite pricey, I would go back again especially for a special occasion.

Loved our dinners here—two nights in a row. Red Snapper, the full fish, was delicious and ample to split between two people, well worth the effort in filleting it. Grouper fillets the next night were just as good.

Personally not typically excited about old-school fine dining restaurants and generally prefer more fun & creative menus (at any price point) ... but this place was awesome! Surpassed all my expectations, and in addition to a well-comprised (and executed) fine dining menu, they had some creative chef specials that were simply outstanding. Each and every member of the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the food. We were sat in a big comfy booth with a view of the water, and the non-stuffy yet still refined ambiance was perfect. Excited to have a restaurant of this caliber just up the road. Will be back soon.

We had our rehearsal dinner & wedding here in Sept 2024 & enjoyed every moment! The service was phenomenal, the space is gorgeous & the food both nights was so delicious! I highly recommend having your event at The Hope Farm.

Hubby and I went to Hope Farm for dinner about 10 days ago. We started with the root beer old fashioned and the mushroom toast. Not big on sweet cocktails, and this one isn't too sweet, but is definitely enjoyable and interesting. Mushroom toast is really yummy. We shared the beef short ribs and ended with the flourless cake. Glad we split the entree as it was plenty of food. We also ordered a glass of wine. Beef ribs are melt- in-your-mouth. Flourless cake is divine. The only reason I would not give an overall five star rating, is the service. For a restaurant that has invested so heavily in the wine list, they really should provide a sommelier-like server, which we didn't experience. So if you go, and intend to order wine, do your research first. Other than that, we will definitely be going back again as the food is top notch and the atmosphere is really classy.

had a great dining experience at Locals today! my husband had a build your own burger with bison, and he said that it was incredibly delicious. I had Mike’s Beef and it was also delicious. Locals is a great place to stop if you’re visiting downtown Fairhope. :)

We got an outside table which was perfect with shadows by a giant tree and great live music during lunchtime on Saturday We had pasta and shrimp sandwiches which are also great. The homemade French fry was amazing! The service level was high, and the service was provided by a very kind lady. We had a perfect Saturday lunch

Their shrimp grits is the best!! Several years later, at new location I tried them again. I tried their cod sandwich and it was very very good. Kinda messy because fish was so big but I am not complaint for fish being too big! Their fries?? Wow, they were so good. It was fried to perfection and texture was perfect too. It was worth going back!

You can try exceptional, unique tacos I had today's special fish taco firecracker shrimp taco those are great! The source was a unique mixture of a lot of different spices. I tried one bite of a duck taco, which was also great! I may consider to get one next time. It was very dog-friendly outside. A lot of dogs were having a great time in a large space

I was so blown away (and not because hurricane Helene was passing close by)! I’m staying at a nearby resort, and the food here is far and away better (and it costs less)! It’s some of the best food I’ve ever had, and now I’m sad because there isn’t one near me. You can taste the fresh ingredients, and the balance of flavors is just perfect! That goes for the drinks too! This place deserves awards, but also, I want it to stay a little undiscovered and accessible ☠️. BUT IT SHOULD HAVE ALL THE AWARDS! I need to go back and eat my way through the menu.

Although the service is pretty slow at the time we came as they missed our order, the food is pretty good. I recommend to try the oyster french toast and vegetable bowl for those prefer not too heavy and healthy dish (other dishes are mentioned in the pictures). Definitely try their tacos as well, plenty of options and every type is delicious! Nice patio to sitting outside as the inside is kinda crowded and too dark for me; there are umbrellas so no worry about the heat this summer.

First time visit for us! Wont be the last. If you are looking for amazing place to eat in Fairhope, AL, this is the place! The chef is so talented. He makes everything from scratch, including the pickles. Delicious oysters prepared in all kinds of ways. Alley took great care of us! The managers were friendly and nice as well! We will be back.

We had dinner there last night, and it was an incredible experience. The service was outstanding, and we ended up staying until after closing! Every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back!

Great food and people at Pearl. Fabulous from the oyster appetizers to the fish or chicken entrees and the delicious dessert. The Baked Oysters, Fried Chicken and the Fried Catfish special were particularly noteworthy. Can't wait for the next visit!

Great food, a creative menu (think bourbon molasses wings and deep fried ribs), but hurry up and wait to be seated. We stood at the stand in the front for what seemed like an eternity watching the staff chit chat with each other. Just when we decided to leave, the bartender came to seat us. It's a Sunday eve (Fathers Day), and our options were limited. There may have been 10 - 12 other guests in the restaurant. Once seated, things got better. We were actually glad we stayed. The food came quickly, and the service got better. The blackened fish tacos were tasty. The wings were equally yummy. Warning...Styrofoam rules the day here. Drinks are served in styrofoam cups as well as take out containers. The food was reasonably priced and overall we had a pleasant dining experience.

I stopped in at the bone and barrel for a quick bite. After a long day of traveling the food was excellent and the portions were very generous. The service was fantastic and I enjoyed the pub experience. They played really good music and had a selection behind the bar. If you happen to be in Newhope, this is a good place to start. Probably one of the most delicious meals I've ever eaten! I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes Eggs Benedict. It tasted so good, that I didn't want to swallow it! The tomatoes were crispy and savory! The eggs were perfect! The sauce was devine! The Gouda Grits were sublime! There was also fried bacon and a blueberry scone. While waiting for my order, I was served a bowl of nice fresh fruit. It was perfect to whet my appetite. Because they were crowded for Sunday brunch, I sat at the bar, which was pretty comfortable. I had a great conversation with the bartender and good service! I highly recommend Tamara's Downtown. The food is next level!

This was an amazing find for lunch when we were passing through Fairhope Alabama. The wait staff was so friendly and the food was great at such reasonable prices. We had the seafood gumbo and the 4 Oz filet entree, which came with salad, potatoes, and vegetables. All this for a large portion was only $26. It's definitely a great stop!

Downtown Fairhope, Alabama is home to this incredible place. My absolute favorite club sandwich lives here and it is spectacular. Perfectly layered, just the right bread and condiments, love it. Every time I go with friends there is a lot of chatter from everyone about how much they love the food and the restaurant in general. Service is not always perfect, a little slow at times but only enough to take off one star. This is definitely one of my favorite places. It is beautiful inside and the staff is nice. Everyone there always seems to be having a good time. As is the case in most downtown settings, parking is not easy, unless you luck up and get a spot up front.

This place knows how to handle some meat! From the second you walk in you know that these ladies can handle a lot of meat and that they have been handling lots and lots of meat from early on. They really know their way around smoked butts too. I said "can I have some gravy on my mashed potatoes?" And she said "I'll give you all the gravy your heart desires". Then she got it all juicy. Next lady said "what I get you" I said "I'm going to need some breast and thighs" she smiled and hit my plate with them. She said my pleasure.

This place is the best around. Stop in and tell them what you want and have as much as you want. Great tasting food

We are regular diners at Saraceno’s. They have apparently hired some new staff working the serving line. The past couple of visits including last Sunday (July 21, 2024) the serving line workers have been less than friendly. When you ask for an additional portion of an item it appears from their demeanor that it’s an imposition. Their facial expression gives them away. The portions are much smaller than in the past. I understand that waste affects profit margin but some of the portions are ridiculous being a AYCE establishment. We love Saraceno’s but we have seen a difference with some of the staff recently. The dining room staff are excellent and work hard making sure we are satisfied. We will continue to frequent Saraceno’s and like supporting local business. They just need some tuning up with some of their staff.

I don’t even know where to start! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, everything was perfect! This place was some of the best food I’ve ever had. My girlfriend and I came in right before close and were somewhat nervous but Taylor greeted us with the warmest welcome to a restaurant I’ve ever had. She proceeded to be so incredibly polite that my fears of when we arrived were eased instantly. We were seated at an outdoor table and the view and vibes were so cozy yet upscale at the same time. The seats were comfortable and I enjoyed the table layout. The inside of the restaurant also carried wonderful vibes and felt cozy. Our server Erik was very friendly while helping us pick our food and explaining the menu. He was very attentive to our table and kept our gases filled and things clean. I was very impressed by the service this close to closing time. The food was even better than the service! We started with the crawfish macaroni and cheese which came out still sizzling and was so delicious! For entrees I got shrimp and grits and my girlfriend got a bowl of gumbo, an order of green beans, and an order of spinach. The shrimp and grits came smothered in a delightful crawfish and pepper sauce, a perfectly cooked Gouda grit cake, and the best cooked and tastiest shrimp I’ve ever had in my life. The gumbo was savory and reminded us of red beans and rice and was so hearty and delicious. The spinach was the best we’ve had as well, it was salty and hearty and was reminiscent of bay water in an incredible way. The green means (Harcourts vert) were not to our liking but were cooked very well and for someone else would surely be great! We ended the night with a crème brûlée that was so perfectly prepared; the sugar on top was the perfect toast and hardness level and the custard beneath was light and perfect. My girlfriend usually isn’t a fan of the sugar on top but she had almost more than me! I have to reiterate that we came in very close to closing time and still received the greatest service of any restaurant I’ve been to. Erik and Maura were so polite and friendly and we even had a great conversation with Erik after the fact; and whatever they’re paying Taylor is not enough! I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone in the area. The prices were very fair for the portions and quality we received. For two people, an indulgent meal and a generous tip we only spent $116!! I want to personally thank everyone working here for the food, hospitality, and overall perfect experience!

Great live music on Tuesday night which made perfect date night. :). Service was great and food was phenomenal. I am so glad they moved to this new location!

Absolutely flawless experience at the new R Bistro! The food is not only chef inspired, but every item was chef prepared. They did not miss a beat on food, service, and atmosphere. BBQ shrimp paired with their in house French bread will seriously impress! We will be returning asap.

We recently dined at Gambino’s and had an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm and welcoming. Our server, Amanda, was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The timing of the courses was perfect, and our drinks were never empty. I highly recommend Gambino’s !

Beautiful atmosphere and great food! My husband chose the fried seafood, and I had shrimp with roasted vegetables over linguine. Both meals included salad and bread sticks, and I ordered asparagus on the side. Everything was delicious!

Wonderful place for dinner. From start at the host stand to the service at the table it was perfect. The guys at the host stand were very professional. The food was spectacular. Amanda is a great server. We will definitely be back!
