Cocktail & beer were great. Shrimp app should have warned you'd have to peel it! Waitstaff could have been more on the ball, especially in a slow night (make sure we have silverware & drink refills).
My younger sister and I dined here in November on a glorious fall day. It was late lunchtime and not very busy at all, but I'm sure dinnertime is another story. We shared the cheese fries as an appetizer and then split the fried chicken sandwich and the steak salad. All of the food was excellent, and the waitress was stellar.
Good burger. Friendly staff who took away our red ale that tasted metallic. (7 of the 10 of us got the red ale) We were not charged for it. Just had a water. Hope they can fix their brewing issues.

I honestly didn't expect to like the biscuit & gravy being served in a togo package BUT, I was impressed. The last place that I went that did this, did not, so props on the decent gravy. The chicken biscuit a good size & had good flavor. The hashbrowns were fast-food tots but, I never said I didn't like that finger food. Overall not bad. Service was good & the bathroom was clean. Happy Halloween.
I wanted to see what all the hype was about since this place is always packed so we tried lunch there. Our total for 2 people was around $23 and we only got a couple items. They also up charge when you want to substitute a side, which is usually understandable but they “up charged” to the full price. The chicken on my sandwich was flavorless and dry and the burger my friend got was over cooked. I am a big advocate for supporting local businesses but unfortunately we will not be visiting again.
Very Friendly staff and food was AAA+++

Great beer selection and the menu is extensive of the food you enjoy most with beer (wings, burgers, sandwiches, fries, etc.). The burgers and tots have always been good. The nachos aren't engineered that well. So much stuff the chips are soggy and you need to eat with a fork. To my taste the chili is too sweet and the cheese sauce is not my thing. But it is a hefty portion. Service can sketchy when the bar is full, but they try hard.
This is a great place to eat. My family and I stopped here on our way home from a vacation and for a birthday dinner for myself. The atmosphere is so welcoming here. The waitress was very nice. She even gave me a glass for my birthday that we were celebrating at the time. The food here is delicious. I got the chicken sandwich and it was so juicy and flavorful. I hear the wings are extremely good here.
A bit expensive, but worth the splurge. Awesome ribs. Tender & comes right off the bone. Only thing I wish they'd have is a jar of bbq sauce to take home to compliment home cooking.
Sal’s Jr. Italian Restaurant & Pizza Fairlawn is a vibrant dining destination that captures the essence of authentic Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere…
This was my first visit to Sal'Jr Italian Restaurant and Pizza today. We went for lunch there was 2 of us. We got the lunch special my friend got the chicken alfredo and I got the chicken parmesan and we got a house salad to split. Both meals were very good and hot. And salad was great loved the Ranch and Italian dressings. The bread that comes with the meal was good also. The price was very fair for the food we got. Our waitress was out standing she was the only waitress and she handled the situation greatly. The other staff did help out. Definitely will go back.
Went there to take my 10 year old to eat some real pizza. He thinks Little Ceasers is the bomb. LC has good pizzas but not the quality I grew up eating. Sal's Jr is the pizza of my childhood. We drive an hour and half to eat here.
These pies are levels above any other pizzeria in the New River Valley. Get the full NY slice experience. Order an 18" pie, well done. Bigger slices taste better. It's been studied. 18" taste better than a 14", same ingredients, bake time, recipe, 100% same except size. Bigger slices taste better. Plus you want to ensure you have a few slices for reheating in your oven at home. Sal's slice reheated in your oven at home gives you a second incredible food experience. NY Style is designed to be reheated. Sal's Jr is an excellent example of authentic NY style. I cant believe there isn't a line out the door with people waiting on pizza. The pies truly blow the competition away. Also, Sal's Jr's Philly Cheesesteak are something everyone should experience. Their cheese sauce would make shoe leather taste goo

My first time there. Ordered a small pork lo mein. Waited at the order-pickup window; felt a little like a speakeasy. The order came quickly less than five minutes. The sliced pork charsiu was plentiful and tasty. The lo mein was packed into a white stiff paper takeout container. No plastic. Generous portion. Just $6. I ate it all and will go back next time I’m in Radford . Big thumbs up!
We ordered a few rolls and a few nigiri. Very good sushi but on top of it we were given two rolls on the house for free and they sent us 2 free drinks. Great service and very good sushi!
The sushi was great. My wife and I split an Edison roll and a Salmon Special roll and got a California roll and miso soup for free. The service was also great.

TOO MANY TIMES!! I have spent my hard earned money here for an obviously rushed through order. Sometimes, my chicken parmesean won't have the bread it's supposes to come with. One time, it was ice cold in the middle and hot on the outside, Luke someone has it frozen and then just reheated it but didn't even heat it up all of the way(that's a health hazard). One time my dressing wasn't in my salad that also goes with that dish. There have been tines I do not get to go forks and such as well. I have gotten a rock hard cinnamon roll before too(causing me to never order it again). It had been awhile since I ate from your location, so I thought I would give you guys another try...but yet again...I get the rushed through order. My bread is very small, compared to how it usually is, one side is burnt and all pieces are soggy and one was torn up(I didn't take a bite out of any oglf them). The chicken peices are huge, which means I'm going to have to cut them up. They are usually smaller cut up pieces. It seems you have a lazy employee who rushes through things. You should get this under control. Otherwise my next complaint goes to your bosses.
We came in at 12:45 pm and it wasn't too busy when we arrived. We asked to be seated in the area with the tvs so we could watch football while we were there. We ordered our food, which was 2 burgers, and some boneless wings they had on special. It took about 45 minutes to get our food, and when it came out, our wings were barely room temp. the food was good other than that. Our server was slow about getting refills, but he seemed to be waiting on a few different tables. He just never really seemed to get in any kind of hurry. But he was nice and we had a good visit.
Wonderful American food establishment. We stopped by while visiting a good friend and I was intrigued by the fried pickle spears on the online menu. Very few restaurants offer spears. Normally only flaccid pickle chips. We had a party of three and we decided to sit at the bar. We were greeted by the bartender Ari who was so appealing with her exceptional service and inviting charisma. We made a special request with a custom cocktail recipe and she nailed it with ease. The food came swiftly, hot, and fantastic! The pickle spears were so good, in my top 3 of all time. I also ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos (Ari's recommendation) and they were top notch, top 2 of all time. We are going back for karaoke at 9 for some more good times. Make this a stop if you want some mouthwatering food, exceptional service, and good vibes.

We’ve dined many times with a large party. The owner is always accommodating and it is hands down the best Mexican food in town.
This place is awesome and reasonbly priced. The food was very good. This is the only place I have ever been too that has the option for chicken for the Chile Verde dish. Chili Verde is my favorite dish but I no longer eat red meat so this was a very pleasant surprise, the chicken was cooked perfectly and was juicy and tender. They have vegetarian options as well. The vegetarian Tostadas were also very good. I definitely recommend giving this place a try!
One man show the night we went. I'm not sure the waiter wasn't also the cook. Anyway, I was surprised the beef enchilada came with cheese instead of red sauce. Also, the menu said my meal was supposed to come with beans and rice. Did not get the beans. The waiter doesn't speak much, if any, English and he appeared to be arguing that beans were not included even though the menu clearly stated they do. Never got the beans.

My wife and I love all Latin American food and actively seek out good restaurants wherever we are. This is hands down the best Latin American (Honduran/Mexican/El Salvadoran) food we have ever had in SWVA, and right up there with the best we’ve had anywhere. I ordered the Homesa Style Rice (Arroz Estilo Homesa) and my wife had the Yuca with Fried Pork Meat (Yuca con Chicharron) and we shared a side of fried plantains. Everything was scrumptious! It’s a quaint little mom and pop type restaurant, Carmen, the owner is super nice and friendly, just know that she speaks limited English. We can’t recommend this place highly enough! Will be making a lot of trips to Radford specifically to eat here!
What a great local spot! We were staying in Pembroke and were so glad we found this place! Totally worth the 30min drive! Great service and you can tell the hostess/server really cared about helping you enjoy your meal! Would definitely go back if we are ever in the area!! The Pollo con Tajada and Yuca con Chicharron are dishes I will crave for a long time!
Wow! We LOVED this place. The food was so delicious! The fried plantains were the best I have ever had. The staff was very patient with the lack of knowledge of some of the other patrons and I heard them take time to explain what everything was. She even had to explain what pico de gallo was to someone and she did it with a smile and so much patience! Don't be afraid to try something new and ask questions, the staff will treat you right. We can't wait to come back and try more!

I had my granddaughter pick me up taco salad. First time I have ever eaten anything from there. I am disabled that's why my granddaughter was picking it up. All I got was beef and lettuce and tomato on top. To me that wasn't a taco salad. Looked at me online. It was missing many items. Tried call at 6:46 no answer again at 6:50 no answered. So figured it was dinner time and they were busy. Tried again at 8:26 talk to manager. He said I could get replacement the next day. Granddaughter took it back. The one replacing it told my granddaughter that she recognized the name and I had done this many times before. My granddaughter said this is my name and neither one of us had eaten here before. The worker said well that all that goes on taco salad. Granddaughter said that's not what menu said. She fixed the salad it. It was runney as hell. Still no shredded cheese. She also said next time call within 30 minutes. There want be a next time. I now realize Wendy taco salad is better.
I'm on a strict gluten free diet because of Celiac disease. Had Beef Soft Tacos using corn tortillas, with a side of beans. Great meal and service, enjoyed the salsa bar too!
We have been coming here for years. This is the best Mexican restaurant we have ever been to! Food is delicious. Salsa bar is great, prices are reasonable & owners are very nice!

I always like checking out local spots I travel. BT’s Is a nice spot and the entire experience was awesome from start to finish. The service was on point and the food was enjoyed by all. Thank you guys for filling our bellies before we hit the road. Go Highlanders!
I didn't have the best experience here. I came with a friend on Labor Day and it wasn't very busy, but service was quite slow. It took over 30 minutes for us to get our food, and it wasn't very good either. I got a BLT with green beans on the side- the BLT itself wasn't bad, but the green beans reminded me of a school cafeteria. I left pretty disappointed and won't be back.
The Ruben was impressive. Way better than the New York style delicatessens in Atlanta. Simply amazing! Love went into making this Ruben and it shows! Wings are disappointing. I had a craving for messy x-hot Buffalo Wings. Got home, opened the box to find dry wings. I have never seen wings tossed in sauce before they are fried. This is not how we eat wings in the South. This must be a Virginia thing bc screwing up wings is really hard to do. These wings make you want to look around for something else to eat for dinner.

Restaurant is beautiful and spacious. Food was delicious! We started with 2 appetizers. My husband got bbq wings. They were fresh and looked good. The pimento cheese appetizer with the pretzel crostinis was delicious and IMO some of the best pimento cheese I’ve ever had - highly recommend! The menu was smaller than most restaurants but had a great variety. I was very happy to see some vegetarian options. I had the roasted cauliflower steak and my husband had a burger. Both entrees were great. We thought the prices were fair and our service was good. Will definitely go back.
What a surprise to find such a nice restaurant in a college town. Inside is modern with clean lines. Cesar salad and corn chowder were spot on. Pork chop and salmon were amazing!
This was my first time going, and it was absolutely wonderful. Me and my date sat outside. It was such a beautiful view. I had the catfish wrapped in bacon served with Black Eyed Peas and stewed tomatoes and the cornbread hush puppies. It was amazing. She had the green tomato BLT with the hash rounds and loved it. We got the cornbread hush puppies with the jalapeño butter to start with. It was delicious and we both got craft cocktails I got mango margarita. Loved it. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was great. I can’t wait to go back.

Awesome little place, went in and immediately was greeted and saw a cool atmosphere with a lot of music decorations. The girl behind the counter was extremely nice and explained how it was a little family owned restaurant which I love. We got our pizza and it was really good. You could tell it was fresh and tasted amazing. We’ll definitely be back!
Absolutely delicious! Best lasagna I ever had! The garlic bread was perfection as well. Great prices for the quality and amount of food you get. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. You do have to buy bottled drinks separately, fyi. They also have extremely friendly employees that made my daughter's experience even better (we asked to leave the oregano off the spaghetti bc anything green ruins food at a certain age, haha). Clean, kid friendly bathrooms. We will be back!
New Italian restaurant deserving of a test run. ATMOSPHERE: Appealing store front; interior, Spartan, clean. Booth benches were too low and too far apart for the table; tables slant away from the wall. Decor: minimal, with some images suggesting The Beatles. Overhead music was very tinny, piercing, and annoying - they'd be better off with no music, or something much softer, smoother. Served by a pleasant young woman with a baby strapped to her chest. FOOD: Split an Italian beef sandwich with my wife. She liked the jus, which she said was not too salty. She could tell that the green peppers and onions had been cooked in it. I thought the sandwich was too small for the price. The Margherita pizza (large) was also somewhat pricy for the size. The sauce was quite tomatoey and thick, like tomato paste, but very tasty. The crust appeared to be pre-made, but not unpleasant. SERVICE: Order at the register from a small menu. Select a drink from the refrigerated case up front. Food was brought to the table; server checked in twice to assure that all was well. VALUE: Compared to another restaurant with similar volume of food, plus two drinks, one of which was alcoholic, Amando's was fully $20 more, for a total of $47, including tax and tip. SUMMARY: While the atmosphere was simple and clean, the music was distracting at best, annoying at worst. Service was friendly and timely. Food was good - it has flavor, unlike another local Italian eatery. My wife and I agreed that we would like to visit again, but probably won't due to the availability of other casual dining which is more reasonably priced.
