Immediately after entering the owner greeted me and even described the menu and recommended some items. Amazing customer service. I had the chicken shawarma wrap, and it was extremely good. The chicken was tender, not dry whatsoever, and the fries were cooked well and had great seasoning on them. If you’ve never tried shawarma before, it has a sort of sweet flavor and is an acquired taste but I’d recommend giving it a try. They also have an American menu. Will definitely come back. Oh and it’s affordable too, which is always a plus.

The food is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend. I’ll definitely be going back. It’s super close to campus for NIU students and also really affordable. The man was also incredibly kind and made awesome food suggestions.

Went to Halal Pros last week while trying new places to eat with my husband. This place has great food y'all and the prices are way more justifiable than the big M next lot over. The dude running it was nice and got everything out fast and hot. If you're looking for some good food, give them a shot.

We have been too a lot of restaurants and this is the first ever that we have went back for seconds and ordered to go for home since we live States away since we were moving our son to NIU. I dont ever rate restaurants but it was amazing food, atmosphere, fast and friendly definitely will be going back in November when we visit for Thanksgiving

A pub/tavern/sports bar atmosphere for sure, with excellent food. Lots of sports on monitors and sports memorabilia on walls. A lot of people had recommended the fried potato salad, so I tried it and now I highly recommend it too. Prices are very reasonable, and staff friendly and able to give good guidance on menu item. We have only lived in the area for a few months and hands down best place we visited.

We ate at the bar since we needed to go quick. Beer selection was good. Bartenders were great. Food prep time was poor. Overall food was good. The Cajun fried potato salad is worth a second visit just by itself

Very yum! Great place for special occasions. I went on a date night and had a fantastic time. We shared plates and enjoyed everything - drinks, food, and service. Had the octopus which was on special and was very good. Highly recommend the lamb, it's exquisite.

Only reason I gave 4 stars for food was the appetizer. We ordered spinach artichoke dip, and it came with regular tortilla chips. An upgraded option would have been appreciated. Burgers where juicy and cooked as ordered. Fresh garnish was very pleasing.

Visited this steakhouse in advance to a high school graduation. It definitely has a steakhouse feel with a lot of the dark wood formally dressed servers. The food was OK, the service was good and it’s really the only option around this area.

Very good Mexican food and the mixed fajitas are the best. Over time, I feel like we get less and less meat, but still a nice portion. Servers are always so nice and helpful.

This place is great. My wife and I make it a point to eat here everything we go to the area.

This time we went at a busier time. Lots of birthday parties going on. Our waiter was phenomenal! Service was amazing. The guacamole was table side and excellent. Food as always, awesome too. This time I remembered to take some pictures! We'll be back again.

This place was excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed dinner. Everything tasted fresh and good quality. I tried the Gyro platter and it was very filling. Good portions too.

Food is not typical Greek food. The eggplant mousaka is not made with potatoes but topped with a bacheamel sauce. Wine offerings are sufficient. Lemon cake is served cold. Expressed my disappointment with the entree and received 10% of (local discount). Food is less than mediocre and I do not recommend. I personally LOVE Greek food and love mousaka. Good things, the wait staff is lovely & accommodating. The side salad is fresh, prepared with fresh vegetables, beautiful dressing and flavorful. The bread is wonderfully crafted, served warm and dough is soft. Delicious. Wish it was served with butter or oil.

The vibe is so relaxing at The Flame. Great thought went into this menu! The drinks (extensive wine list and cocktails), appetizers and main entrees were delicious (there is something for everyone) and the service was on point! Definitely a place to stop at for all the foodies out there looking for authentic Greek food.

I'm so glad I took the time to try Burger Naan this weekend. The staff was incredibly friendly, very familiar with the menu and willing to explain menu items. The butter chicken was flavorful (though had zero heat), the chicken was fresh and well cooked. The lavender lassi was delicious!! I can't recommend this place enough and am super excited to return!

What a pleasant surprise! Three of my favorite cuisines fused together into a gastronomical delight. I had the Chicken Tikka burrito. And I will be back to try many more items!

The butter chicken with rice was phenomenal. I’ve also had their fusion chicken wings in the past and those wings are huge and delicious. They have Reasonable prices with good portioned dishes. The service was amazing, you can tell the owner and the cooks are passionate about their food. I can confidently say this is one of the best restaurants in town.

While we really wanted to like the Grove, we left wanting more. The menu does have some good-looking options, but our entrees were average. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, the taste was good, but the portion size was on the smaller side. The cosmopolitan was sour and couldn't be finished. We also ordered the chicken colorado and skirt steak frites. The chicken lacked flavor, and the skirt steak was very chewy and also lacking flavor. I would say maybe our biggest disappointment was that the staff didn't inquire to see if we were happy with our drinks/entrees.

This place is amazing. From the feeling of simply entering the building to the exquisite and delectable appetizers, entrees, and drinks you are sure to love this excellent establishment. The hot chicken sandwich is absolutely delectable, and personally I would say it is one of the best friend chicken sandwiches out there. Don’t be scared to order it because of the spice; the honey infused chile is noticeable, but far from overpowering. Don’t sleep on their cheese curds either. Along with the curds comes a delicious and tangy sauce that I would recommend ordering (their spicy ranch.) They have a plethora of drinks that everyone in the family can and will enjoy.

My son took me out for my birthday to eat here . It was hard to pick what I wanted to order A’s everything looked good . I decided on a patty melt and it did not disappoint. It was very good and a big portion so I took the rest home for another delicious meal the next day . The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great . I would definitely recommend this place to others and will be back myself. We were going to a play at the Egyptian theater after dinner which is only a short walk from this restaurant.

American Chinese take-out at this finest! I LOVE this place, I love the food & I love the staff! Primarily because they take such care in preparing and sourcing the food. It’s not drenched in sodium with overly sweet/thick sauces. It’s made with fresh vegetables, fresh meat and in simple palate pleasing sauce. I’ve been in the area for 6 weeks for work, I happily dine here once a week, sometimes more. Highly recommend!

I stopped in for lunch before work with my boyfriend and the service was great. I felt like I was at home. The food was just as great as the service. We had the pot stickers, orange chicken, and beef noodles. The orange chicken was the best I have ever had—not too citrussy and evenly coated. This is our new favorite spot

my partner and I got the appetizer platter for 2 and an order of szechuan chicken and everything was delicious! we particularly loved the chicken skewers on the appetizer platter. everyone was so friendly and service was quick. and when they ask if you want hot tea, say yes! it was so good!

Definitely a nice quality Thai restaurant especially for a small town like DeKalb kind of remote. Not the best I have had and have eaten at many many Thai restaurants around the world, but very good especially with certain dishes. Their cucumber salad appetizer is quite tasty....the papaya salad is nice too minus the shrimp for vegetarians. Normally it doesn't come with shrimp in most places but this does so be aware. Their Pad Thai is good but not great....won't order that dish again. Their pad se ew is very nice though....not the best I've eaten but very good. Their tofu satay is yummy too. A great place to have in DeKalb for sure.

As my very first experience with Thai food, this place was amazing. I’m currently learning all I can about the Thai culture, and my mom suggested we try this place. It was so tasty, the people were so friendly, and I plan to come back and experience more of their delicious dishes.

Just looked at my bill from lunch today for 5 people. I did not notice or was told by waitress that a 18% gratuity was all ready added in. So when the credit card receipt was presented to me I added another tip ! So the waitress got $16.86 PLUS $21.58 for a total of $38.44. Watch your receipts. I don't think I will be going back. I will have to check this every time I go out to eat.

Very nice place good food. The bathrooms were super clean even though the last bathroom stall smelled of bleach and cleaning fluid. The bathrooms are totally clean especially the men’s bathrooms. The foods Good drinks are good places. Awesome. I enjoyed my time there. I’m coming back.

i forgot to tell the owner that i really liked the music choice this evening. it kinda seemed ripped straight out of my personal playlist. the new bartender was really nice, and remember to always tip well.

It's a good place to visit. Ambience is also decent. The kitchen got closed at 9pm so we had to order food from outside. Drinks were also good. I would suggest it to be a one time visit place. Nothing so great and nothing so bad about it.

I've eaten here a couple times now and can say the food is not amazing but it is a decent price. Do not order pasta here, however, the pasta made here tends to be overcooked to the point it's bordering on soft mush and is extremely under seasoned. Their soups and salads are alright though nothing to write home about. The service was good during both of my visits the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

I ordered take out here on a few occasions. This first time, they gave me the completely wrong order. I had to go all the way back to the restaurant to get it fixed. Gave them another chance. Ordered breakfast again, and again they gave me the wrong order. I tried to eat what was given to me but I just couldn’t as it was not what I ordered. Had to go back to get this fixed again. Most recent time ordering food, the order was right for once but the pancakes were old, hard, and didn’t taste fresh. They were cold. Gross. They seem to not make their food fresh for carry out orders, I guess quality take out orders aren’t a priority for them.

Had the joy to finally stop in at this family diner. We live about 30 minutes from it but usually travel at least a hour or two for food because we are bike enthusiasts (to say the least lol) Coffee cup stayed full and hot, waitresses were absolutely amazing, so kind and attentive. There’s a great feeling walking into a place and automatically feeling the positivity from the whole staff. I ordered the Western skillet and it was phenomenal. (And it really comes in a metal skillet, not just a plate like a few other places I’ve encountered) Real sliced cheese is placed under the eggs for a perfect melt and cheese pull every bite, loaded with fresh jalapeños (I personally love heat) not to mention the abundance of diced ham, onions, hash browns and green peppers also. My boyfriend ordered the colossal omelette and lord that didn’t disappoint either. Plates licked clean to say the least After our first visit we’ve decided we will be stopping here regularly and so glad we found this gem of a place. Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Karaoke was off the hook! The locals are welcoming, and we had a blast! The staff is friendly and fast! Cash only and many slot machines as well!

Great neighborhood bar. Gambling machines, darts, jukebox. Patrons are a mix of regulars and passersby. Just be prepared, they only take cash.

Great food, awesome bartenders alway smiling and treating their customers with respect. Always a fun time. Travis does a Great job with Karaoke lots of fun also.

Said they would deliver within an hour. After 2 1/2 hours they cancelled the order because they couldn't keep up with orders. Told me they'd compensate my meal the next day. Over 30 minutes after open time and no one was working here. I'm not really sure they know how to run a business or hire responsible employees who have motivation to work.

Allen the manager really spoiled us today for my wife getting a huskie zone calzone that didn't have alot of filling. Highly recommend the passing zone calzone. Everything is absolutely delicious. they stand by their food. He went above and beyond to make things right.

Food was ok but nothing like a classic calzone should be. Portions are small and over priced. Toppings options are the only bright spot.. Customer service was bad. Ordered through an App and somehow a double order was entered. Called them immediately to cancel. Person I talked to said they would cancel the order but I had to jump through all the hoops of Uber Eats to try and get my refund for the second order, that I was charged for without a delivery of food. No desire to order from this place again. You are better off going just about anywhere else that serves the same fair.

this place is a total gem. my husband tried this for the first time without me and raved about it. so when we happened to be in dekalb/sycamore, we stopped here for breakfast. I walked and was genuinely surprised at the fancier atmosphere. I was expecting a diner type place (nothing wrong with that), but everything was so clean, and the decor was sharp. I especially liked the booths because they were tall and felt much more private and not like I was having a conversation with my husband AND the neighboring table. now, onto the food. we both got seasonal dishes. my husband got pumpkin pancakes, and I got apple cider french toast. again, I was totally taken by surprise at the plating and general "prettiness" of the dish. the brioche bread they used was outstanding. not the sad, soggy texas toast you get in most places. it stood up to the apples, sauce, and syrup. next, the apples were SO good. I truly appreciate the fact that they used fresh apples and a homemade sauce instead of an apple pie filling...they were crunchy and a lovely contrast with the french toast itself. my husband's pancakes (yes, I had to try a tinyyyyy bite) were also wonderful. sweet and moist because of the pumpkin. the tangy cream cheese sauce on top paired perfectly with the pancakes. but I'm definitely glad I got the french toast because I think they were a bit more unique and interesting. I highly recommend this place. I can't wait to go back because I want to try about half of the menu!

Quality and service are why you go here. You may have to wait if you go on a Sunday morning, but trust me, it is worth the wait. My hubby and I got in in 15 min , food came fast and was amazing I got the cream of chicken with a California burger and side salad. Food was amazing!

Wonderful restaurant with very reasonable prices. They often have live music which is a great touch. Unfortunately they only have one TV above the bar, and it's rather small. But overall the quality of food and atmosphere is hard to beat.

We came here to celebrate after eloping. The food and cocktails were amazing. Our server and the bartender were both so sweet and so excited for us. It was the perfect vibe that we were looking for. I can't wait to come back. Thank you for helping to make our special day even more special <3

Absolutely loved going to Tapa la Luna! Jim Kanas and Roger Hintzche played some great music! The tapas were amazingly delicious. Brooke, the bartender is so sweet and helpful. Our waitress Rachael was super attentive and kind as can be. We had the best time with some of our extended family there including young kids. The atmosphere is very inviting and so tastefully decorated. This was our first time there, and we look forward to returning.
