The food here is top tier. It's always fresh, seasoned to perfection, and not a long wait. The atmosphere is a vibe, and customer service is on point. The staff are very down to earth, and the owner is very courteous as well

Let me tell y'all...if you haven't made a trip out to Tru Vegas in Princeville to try out this delicious comfort/soul food you are TRUELY missing out!! Not only is the food 100% homemade with love and care, it's made to order, served fresh and hot and VERY reasonably priced!! Everything I've eaten from this restaurant is delicious but their signature dish "BOWGHETTI" .... SHEW....that is something extra special!! Do yourself a favor and take a trip across the bridge and grab yourself a plate of yummy-ness!! ♥️ they have a full menu available there as well as on their Facebook page!! Check them out!

This was my first experience here, I've heard a lot about the food and service. My daughter and I stopped in and ordered several wings and fish plates... I will return again and encourage many of my friends and family to do so also.

Normally, I would not even fathom giving a Waffle House a full FIVE-STAR review... But, this restaurant was clean, the restrooms were very decent, the food was well-cooked and flavorful, and the staff was not only working well with one-another, they were fun to watch and listen to. (First adult I've ever known that hasn't tried french toast... You know who I'm talking about)! When traveling, I am always appreciative of people who brighten/lighten the atmosphere... and this crew does that very well!

Had a wonderful lunch today at the Tarboro Waffle House! Our server Nuk was very fast, polite and accommodating, she's a wonderful asset to this establishment! We ordered One All Star Breakfast w/Bacon and One Ribeye Steak and Eggs Breakfast, our bill came to about $25.00 which was very affordable for two nice meals. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare as requested and was seasoned nicely, the Waffle was so warm, sweet and yummy! We did not have to wait for a table, and we were greeted upon entry, which made us feel welcomed! Our food was served in a timely manner just as we ordered, no mistakes whatsoever. The entire staff was friendly to all the patrons, and the restrooms were clean, and there was ample parking as well. We will definitely return!

The people are awesome. The food was awesome. Too bad I don't have enough money to give everyone a tip. It's definitely a great morning team here. I will be visiting every time im in town.

This restaurant has delicious authentic Mexican food. You place your order at the counter and they bring the food to you when it's ready. They have a condiment bar to top your own tacos. Highly recommend! Good value delicious food!

Really good place to eat authentic mexican garnachas food is always good. We visit every time we come to the area even we travel just to gesomo real tacos or quesadillas if visit ask for the dishes for the day some times them usually have extra dishes to chose from and them are not im the menu.

I was served a glass with lipstick still on both sides from the previous user. Steaks were ordered medium but both arrived well done. Also, $8 for a mediocre salad bar as a side when you have purchased a steak is ridiculous. First and last visit here.

This place is way overpriced for its quality of food. Though my service was great; my potato was under done. The scallops were over cooked and gritty. The steak was the best of the worst on the plate but you have to season yourself. The cook that brought out the food was very nice.

WARNING DO NOT EAT HERE!!! I was here 11/28/2023 and got ripped off. My mom was visiting me and I decided to take her out for a nice (and expensive) dinner. We both ordered filet mignon and when the waitress brought us our dinners we both instantly told her that the steaks she brought us were not filet mignon. They were obviously cheap steaks that they were selling as quality steaks. She ran back to the head chef and he insisted that they were filet mignon steaks. The steaks were 3/4” thick, chewy, and stringy. I asked to speak to the owner, but he was not available. The head chef came out and showed me two raw pieces of meat trying to convince me that one was a ribeye and the other was a fillet. If they were filet mignon, they must be a dollar store version. I paid around $40. for each steak, the slice of bread that was served with dinner was the same thickness as the steaks!! I have pictures. I argued with the head chef but that did nothing to solve the problem. I PAID OVER $120. WE DIDN’T EAT THE STEAKS. WE LEFT HUNGRY AND ANGRY/DISAPPOINTED.

I am a creature of habit and usually get the same food from here. The Italian sub, lasagna or stromboli. Today , I got the Mama's special pizza, no peppers, add extra pepperoni. It has got to be the absolute best pizza I have eaten in years. It was delicious, every bite, even the crust!!!!!

Sorely disappointed with what should have been an enjoyable takeout sandwich! Sausage, peppers, onions, with mushrooms and provolone on a TOASTED (which it was not) sub/hoagie roll is not supposed to be dry, even without the marinara they normally drown this sandwich in. The sausage should NOT have been twice cooked, the second time was by dropping it in the deep fryer to REHEAT it After they split it open! Dried out, tough, tasteless, with a grainy mouth feel. The veggies were still nearly raw. The cheese was thrown on top and slightly melted enough to stick only to the foil. What are they thinking?!?!?!? Everything should've been done on the flat top grill TOGETHER (sausage uncut w/grill marks on 4 sides, veggies grilled soft with caramelization marks from the help of a little olive oil, roll buttered, then face down on the grill to get a nice golden brown, crisp), with the cheese melted under the salamander, or a quick trip in the pizza oven, then wrapped with waxed paper, then foil. I was told Pete was from NY....trusted that's the quality I was going to get. Won't be making this mistake again. Adding a photo After I had to add butter to roll and toast it w/o sausage in it, then cut up the sausage just to make it easier to eat. Would've cut up a properly prepared one as well. Just my preference.

I have loved eating here for years. The cheesesteak was delicious and it was wonderful to be in such a relaxing atmosphere. The staff was professional and courteous. Would choose to eat there over and over.

Just one word, it was excellent. Amazing services and tasty food. Good vibes.

UPDATE: 02/05/23 Picked up Take Out today, as usual everything was delicious! I ordered at the restaurant, I had just a short wait, and the staff was friendly and polite as I waited. The prices have increased (as they have everywhere) but you definitely get your monies worth for the price you pay, they even include chips and salsa with take out orders. They food tasted great as usual even after a short drive home. We will return again. Grade A Sanitation and the restaurant and restrooms both were clean. Food was delicious, service was great, no wait for a table and food was served in a timely manner. Restaurant was clean, however the A/C was not working. We will return again.

Tried something new with the new addition of the xiao long boa. Absolutely incredible flavor wise and that's coming from an extremely picky eater who doesn't venture from their comfort zone often. Egg rolls are also the absolute best! Our favorite spot for Chinese food always ready fast and delicious.

Really good food and portion sizes. I got the chicken lo mein and the fried dumplings. Great sauce w the dumplings! The employees were super nice, but there’s no inside seating currently. Probably not the most authentic place in the world, but a great into to Tarboro!

Ordered the General Tsos and cheesesteak eggrolls, both were delicious. Ordered 20 minutes before hand and it was ready when I arrived. I did have to take 1 star because of the smell other reviewers have talked about.

UPDATE: 04/04/23 Returned for lunch and enjoyed the delicious Shrimp Platter with Tots and Slaw. Service was again awesome just as it was during my last visit! I received my food quickly, and it was hot, fresh and delicious Both Restaurant and Restrooms were clean! Another great visit! This is a wonderful restaurant full of color, nostalgia and some of the kindest servers and cooks you will find anywhere! We went right in and chose our table, there was no wait, and our server Janelle came right over promptly. We ordered a Cheesteak meal with Gravy Tots and a Hamburger Steak Plate with Onion Rings. We had a very short wait for our food, you can see the cooks working and they are focused and committed! Our food was served hot and with a smile, our cups never went empty, and both our server as well as a member of the cooking staff checked up on us, I have no negatives here, it was a great experience! Restaurant was clean, bathrooms were clean and a great Sanitation Grade as well, Doug runs a wonderful restaurant and we will be back!!

Hwy 55 Diner in Tarboro is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere that feels like a true classic diner experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure you feel right at home. The menu has a great variety, but I highly recommend the burgers—juicy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Their fries are crispy and delicious, and don’t forget to try one of their amazing milkshakes! It’s clear that they take pride in serving fresh, high-quality food. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a family meal, Hwy 55 is a great choice for comfort food in a welcoming setting. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the Tarboro area!

We stopped for a quick dinner. Mike made me a special salad. I ordered the fried chicken salad and he suggested a sauce with some squeezed lemon. When he first brought it out I was a little hesitant because they cooked the cucumbers and tomatoes a tiny bit when they sauced up my chicken but oh my this salad didn't need any dressing it was so delicious. Mike was an attentive server and I am really happy he suggested this new salad.

The food is pretty good, I've either gotten tacos or fajitas and they're both great options. The service is either decent or complete miss. I've gone a few times...when they first dropped the ball on the service, I figured it was just a fluke and decided to return. You really have a 50/50 chance of having decent service. Got ignored for a long time before being greeted, didn't have my drink or apps brought to me, got charged extra items that actually came included in my meal. A waitress literally asked ME what a menu item included and to show them on the menu. Lol. I feel like they try, but they definitely need to tighten up. **Edit- Service has improved since this review and I hope they continue to improve. I sincerely like their food.

We had a wonderful lunch experience here today! The restaurant and restrooms were both very clean. We received great service and the prices are very affordable especially compared to the portion size, we were served enough for 2 meals! The chips were great! They were served warm with a hint of lime and salt and the salsa was some of the best I've ever had, definitely in my top three! We ordered the La Paradilla meal for two, it included Ribeye Steak, Chicken, Caritas, Shrimp, Chorizo, 2 Mexican Onions, 2 Cheese Quesadillas, 2 Grilled Jalapeno Peppers, Nopales (Cactus) Bell Pepper, Vidalia Onion all served freshly grilled on a Steamy Skillet. You also get 2 servings of Rice and Beans and 3 Tortillas each (corn or flour) We will definitely return to this establishment again to further explore the menu!

Celebrated a birthday at el Patron Tuesday night. The food was excellent and Sammy took care of our table of nine. Our birthday girl was surprised by a beautiful cake and was serenaded by the staff! We all had a wonderful time and definitely will celebrate more birthdays there!

Absolutely delicious and so authentic!! Friendly staff who were more than willing to explain the menu items, loved the homemade Salsa Verde!! Be sure to stop in the store on the way out for a piece of Tres Leche cake! We will most definitely be returning, they are closed on Mondays and open 10am-6pm other days.

I would give zero if i could! Small smelly restaurant with terrible customer service! Went in and ordered shrimp chow mein and received some soupy cabbage mess, not a noodle in sight! Went back in to say I had the wrong order and man starts YELLING and tell me “this IS CHOW MEIN”, so I ask calmly why he is yelling and hes telling me “ i dont know what to order”, I’ve been ordering shrimp chow mein for 20years and has never looked like undercooked cabbage soup! Dont waste your time or money

The absolute worse General Tso chicken. Horrible. Chunks of gristle. Stringy. Will never eat there again.

Ordered three fries and cup of country gravy. It was delicious but I didn't care for how my fries were dumped in the bag especially having to pay $10 for it all smh

I ordered a Bo biscuit and a Bo chicken sandwich and fries. The Bo biscuit cheese was so tough that I couldn't even chew it and apparently they were out of fries and replaced it with Mac n cheese that was cold. I was so disappointed. My daughter goes to Bo Jangles in another town and highly recommended that I try it

Used to really enjoy coming here, It was very fast and efficient. And for the longest time coming here was a lot faster than going to McDonald's or even Wendy's. But in the last few months it's gone downhill I'm not sure what's happened. Been here three different times, at each time I sit at the drive-thru speaker box for well over 5 minutes with no response when it's dead slow or maybe there's about three cars ahead of me. Hate to say it but I guess I won't be back anymore, It's been a good run Bojangles thank you. ❤️

I eat at this Abram’s location often on my lunch break. On September 3rd I ordered my food to go like I usually do. Once I got back to work I was about to bite into my bbq sandwich and saw a dead fly in the bbq. I took my food back & as soon I walked in the girl (light skinned with glasses) that had originally taken & fixed my order asked me what was wrong with my order & I told her there was a fly in my bbq sandwich & I would like a refund. She started saying stuff under her breath that I couldn’t hear. Once she was finished with the other customer I handed her my bag & showed her the same photo I am posting here. She had an attitude & looked at me like why was I telling her. They never apologized or anything. They don’t have any customer service skills.The girl working the drive through quickly handed me my refund & that was that. I questioned the cleanliness of this place anyway. I will never eat here again.

My cousin ordered and spent money on food for our reunion. The food was a great disappointment. The fried chicken had numerous feathers & not hot, it seemed to be old. The clue for us that we had a problem with the food was when it was delivered you didn’t smell anything. Hot food has an aroma. The baked chicken has feathers on the wings and chicken wasn’t fully cooked. Feathers on chicken make you wonder about the cleanliness of the food preparation. The hush puppies were not fresh either, who delivers food and it’s not hot at all. I will never eat there again !!!! Do NOT order food for any special events unless you want to be disappointed.

I visited the Tarboro drive thru on Sunday, November 10, 2024. We were too late for dine-in and settled for take-out. The area was filthy!! The floors behind the counter were disgustingly dirty; paper on the floor, sticky looking, trash around the serving area and straws. It was overall terrible. The food was not great either, the chicken was cold, the BBQ was dry and the hush puppies were wet inside. People please do better!
