My husband and i stopped in for dinner and were quite impressed! The service was exceptional, ask for Amber. She took very good care of us, she was knowledgable and professional. The decore makes you feel like you have slipped into Italy!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great little spot. Definitely homemade everything! Delicious!! If you haven’t been you definitely need to try this place out. Finally staff very clean. Food was excellent! Lasagna had homemade meat sauce with ricotta cheese and mozzarella. COMBO GYRO PLATTER I had grilled chicken and lamb with a side salad and pita bread.
Feels like going to a relatives for lunch or dinner. Great service in a low-key relaxing atmosphere. Food is both Greek and Italian. Great location on the Shelby square and next door to Earl Scruggs museum a must see when in Shelby. Stop in and enjoy yourselves.

Absolutely DELICIOUS food!! The flounder fish sandwich was one of the best I’ve had. My friend had the Beehive Burger and said it was fantastic. Booths are cute & comfy. Don’t miss out!! It’s at 501 N. Post Rd in Shelby. Linda F.
What a cute little restaurant. I am so glad we decided to check out while I'm in town. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could! The owner is precious, and it was such a homey atmosphere. The food was amazing! Mac n cheese was fantastic. The fried oreo bites were delicious, too!
While looking for a place to eat, we stumbled across this little hole in the wall, and sure glad we did!!!! The guy that took our order was extremely nice!! He was very accommodating being we just wanted to split a plate! We had the steak and gravy (which was absolutely amazing and don’t get me started on how good the gravy was). We also had the fried Oreos (we ate most of them before getting a pic) they are just like the Oreos at the fair! Also amazing!!! This place is a hidden gem!!!
Showmars Shelby is a vibrant and inviting restaurant located in the heart of Shelby, North Carolina, dedicated to serving delicious, high-quality food in a friendly atmosphere….
Ordered via DoorDash. Chicken strips were tender and not greasy. Mediterranean pasta was a little too “strong” for hubby and I. The baklava cheesecake was so good! Not too sweet! Really enjoyed it!
Dined on: 11-4-23 Time: 11:30am We decided to try this place out before heading out to play golf at Deer Brook. I'm glad we did. The food was yummy. I had the souvlaki pork pita and I enjoyed it very much. The place was very clean and inviting. The service was also great and our server Beth was wonderful. We will sure come back when we're in Shelby area again.
Me and my parents ate here while we went shopping for Christmas. They eat here a few time before. I was skeptical about it but it was good. You order at the counter and they bring it to you. They have alot of choices plus sides too. I got a classic cheeseburger.

What a breakfast!!! I loved my western omelette! My husband had the a burger and it was so good! The food was so well seasoned and the service was quick but so effective! I loved my coffee and the location of the restaurant as well. This is my first time in NC and this place felt very authentic and it was nice to hear the NC accent! Would come again if in the area!!
Great food - Less than Waffle House experience. We visited 6/23/24. While the food and portions were great, whoever is manager needs to get their staff situation figured out. I get we all just have bad days, but our server was very to the point and barely acknowledged us. Never asked if we needed anything. Another server was fighting with a guy in the back who it sounds like antagonizes some of the women. In our short visit, we heard yelling, cussing, crying, dishes being slammed down, and in general no one there seemed to want to be working there. We literally just wanted to enjoy our breakfast food. If management reads this, Please address it. Edit for response: Yes, this was Saturday the 22nd. We were seated on the left hand side of the restaurant, booth closest to the kitchen. Again, I know everybody has a bad day here and there. It was just really rough. This is the first time we've eaten there, we were excited to try it. One day, I'm sure we will come back and I would love to be able to update this review positively. Thank you for the quick response.
What a wonderful experience! This was our first visit, and we'll definitely be returning. Learned Shelby Cafe opened on this spot in 1922. It continues to serve home cooked foods and preserve the original diner-style atmosphere. The menu has a variety of breakfast items (served all day), salads, sandwiches, daily specials, vegetables, corn bread, rolls, and pies. Servers warmly greet you as you enter and direct you to seat yourself at any table or booth. The food is delicious, and you receive ample portions (we had to request carryout containers). If you're looking for a nostalgic, quaint, dining experience sitting among Shelby locals, then you will thoroughly enjoy dining at Shelby Cafe. Oh, they also offer takeout and cater events.
Pleasant City Wood Fired Grille is a vibrant dining destination that specializes in delivering an exceptional culinary experience centered around the art of wood-fired cooking….
I want to start this review by saying the small issue we had here would not deter us from coming here again. Our server’s name was Wendy and she was incredible! We ordered wings, the city salad with grilled chicken, and a fried chicken wrap with bacon. The food came out promptly and was fresh! The city salad had plenty of chicken and dressing as well (it was a dark vinaigrette). They have Pepsi products to drink (which I wasn’t thrilled since I am an avid Sprite drinker). Read more to see our “small” issue… As my son was eating the wings, he noticed an incredibly long black hair on the wings. However l, he noticed it 2 seconds too late and the hair found its way into his mouth…. I didn’t want to make too big of a deal as there were multiple other people eating around us. I brought this to Wendy’s attention and she appeared to be mortified. She immediately said she would go and grab the manager. Maybe less than a minute later, Wendy came back to the table and told us our meal was taken care of. Not just my son’s meal, which had the issue but our entire meal. She handled this very professionally and I could tell she was genuinely embarrassed. In fact, she said she was heartbroken for my son because she could tell he was really enjoying the flavor of the Cholula wings. As I said above, this small issue would not deter us from coming back to this location. The staff was friendly. The food was incredible and honestly, the prices were very reasonable. Wendy is one of the best waitresses we’ve had on our entire vacation in North Carolina.
Had lunch at Pleasant City while looking for houses in the area. Our realtor suggested it and we were very pleased. Food tasted great and our server was great. We ordered a Strawberry Spinach Salad and the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Both came out quick and tasted great. Portion sizes were perfect for us. Would definitely go back since there were plenty of other great menu items we wanted to try.
My party of three ordered a Jalapeño popper pizza, a Greek pizza and the Brisket pizza and all 3 were cooked to perfection. The crust was nice and crispy, the cheese was delicious and they added just the right amount of toppings. However, they sat us at a table that was not entirely clean. The seats had crayons left in them and there was trash on the floor. We did stop right after the lunch rush so maybe that is why things were disheveled. The food was delicious so I would give them another try.

The staff was very friendly from our walk in the door. You have outdoor and indoor dinning. The Catolina burger was incredible and it had fresh hamburger meat. The house chips were not greasy. My wife got Cranberry-Pecan chicken salad croissant was delicious. They also have desert area with homemade deserts and they taste incredible. Then to top it off they have a gift shop.
You will never have a bad meal here! Everything is delicious! Try the turkey with red peppers, avocado mayo, and spinach sandwich, with a side of that yummy pasta salad, you won't regret it!
Stopped at this restaurant with some co-workers about a month or two ago. There were not that many vegetarian options, which was disappointing. I did find a flat bread that sounded good. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we were able to sit outside because it was a nice day. The server was very nice and the food was decently priced. Wish they had more vegetarian options, but overall it's a nice little cafe.

The food was excellent and fresh. Service was also great. The cusine offered is more on the traditional and authentic side of mexican fare. The only draw back was the crowds of younger adults hanging out waiting for their order and being rowdy. We would recommend this spot as a great place for families!
The California burrito is so good! I love eating it, and I look forward to eating it. The service is always quick and friendly here and the portions generous. One of the only things I would change is that you pay at the register on your way out, (I’d rather them come to the table), but I can live with that.
I have lived in the area for 18 years and have never tried this place until recently as I don't eat out much. I haven't dined in but ordered delivery. I can't believe I didn't try this in all these years, I found them the beef nachos to be some of the best I ever had as well as the other food I've ordered has been very good. They also throw in a bunch of extra chips and freebies in with the order which is awesome. Will be ordering regularly from here on out.

Today was the first time I've gotten to eat here and it was great! I have been craving some really good pancakes and they did not disappoint. The service was super quick and I loved the decor and feel of the place. I will return!
Went to Ken & Mary’s for brunch. This place was absolutely great! The service was attentive and was on top of us. Our waitress made sure that we had everything with needed. Then another lady came to ask if we were ok. The customer service is 10/10. The food was good as well, I got eggs bacon and pancakes . They also offer a section were you can do buffet style. Offering a variety of options to choose from. They have desserts as well on the left side of the buffet. Great place for brunch
UPDATE: This place does not seem to be open any longer. Made 3 attempted visits....website said open, place dark, locked, and closed. They need to update/ remove website. What a find! Modest, country abode with ample room for the crowds...and they do get a crowd. Super friendly, attentive and efficient. Wide selection of options. Pancakes, omelets available in variety to suit your tastes plus great lunch options.

Service was ok, had teenage waitress and she didn’t listen was in a hurry. I ordered whole flounder and it was fried so hard I could barely eat . Everything else was good except the tartar sauce was terrible. Also they have no side options other that fries or baked potato.
Served raw cold scallops. Didn't eat them then they didn't want to take them off my bill. Never again will I eat here! The butter and sour cream wasn't refrigerated neither was the cocktail sauce, it was all setting out on the table. This place sucks , don't waste your money here
Was there Thursday. When we left I was full and I got the small plate of perch!!! The restaurant is in a very elegant Gothic place. It is large and on a main road. We got there at 4 p.m. we were the only people there at least for 30 minutes. But then in an hour the place was full. It is race friendly , family friendly.. if you love fish you should love it. The only thing I did not admire was the tea. It is race friendly. White's Spanish and black work there and a lot of the customers are the same. If you are having a birthday wedding or business party they have a huge room for it. It is very clean #restaurant #fishcamp #perch #flounder #party #elegant #goth #gothic #nc #northcarolina #familyfriendly
Dodge City Steakhouse in Shelby is a premier dining establishment renowned for its commitment to quality and exceptional service. Nestled in the heart of Shelby, this steakhouse…
The atmosphere was very pleasant. I was happy to see it was pretty full of people, mixed crowd. Unfortunately, that also meant that the servers were stretched thin. A nice server is great and all until you have to wait on silverware to eat or a refill on water. Speaking of which, the servers and hostess were all nice. I do appreciate that. The food was mediocre, but that could have been because they were busy. For instance, the chopped steak was raw on the inside when we asked for well done. The ribeye was not seasoned at all. I'm used to most steakhouses having some kind of seasoning on their steaks. I could deal with that sonce my steak was medium well as i requested. The rolls were drenched in delicious butter which was good because the bread was kind of "plain". All in all, I would try them again on a not so busy day in hopes that the service is a bit faster and the food is prepared per request.
I can't say enough good things about this place. The food is great and the service is above and beyond. We went there twice while our power was out from Hurricane Helene. I got the app sampler both times and it was sooo good. My husband got a steak one time and a burger one time and both were really good. The main reason I wanted to post a review was the service. It says amazing. The first time we went in we had just purchased a battery powered fan but because our power was out we had no way to charge the battery. The waitress was so nice and took it to the back and charged it for us. The second time we went in we were still out of power. They sent two grocery bags of ice with us and told us to come back if we needed more. My potato skins were slightly overcooked and instead of just replacing them, they fixed me a whole new sampler plate to take home with me. They have the neighbor helping neighbor culture down pat and I am proud to recommend them. If you're looking for a place with wonderful food and service, definitely give them a try.
Overall good experience.. Husband ordered steak medium and it came out very well done. We were on time limit so no time to send it back he ate it but not happy. My steak was fine .. salad was good as were the fry’s. Rolls were good. Server attentive as stretched thin by not enough servers he was hustling and keeping up. 4 stars due to overcooked steak.

My husband and I enjoyed the delicious food, smiling faces, and positive attitude of the staff at Creekside while traveling through town. We just happened upon the restaurant from a google search, and could have been more satisfied. Our food was cooked to order and you could tell it was homemade, all the way down to the delicious sour cream.Creekside will definitely be seeing us again!
The mac and cheese is off the chain good!!! Portion sizes are huge for the value! The service was also top notch. When you enter, it feels like you get transported to a time when communty and food were the cornerstone of our society!
My server Sandy was the best! On time with everything and didn't have to ask for anything! She was on top of it. Food was big, hot, and delicious just like I like it! Drinks stayed full! Thanks Sandy

I had dinner at this restaurant last night and it was absolutely delicious. I can't remember the name of the meal but it has shrimp and scallops with mango and pineapple. A little spicy and a little sweet. A very good mix of the two. They have the most unique drink menu with the most beautiful presentation. The drink I had was one of the most delicious drinks that I have ever had. The waitress was excellent, friendly and attentive. The hostess was very nice and accomadating when I ask for a specific type of table. Loved the way it is decorated. Like being transported to a real Mexican restaurant in Mexico is what I imagined. Not a big place or fancy but nice. I would definitely recommend this place.
Third time- we took my adult daughter during her visit from VA Beach. Amazing all around. Every dish has been delicious and the drinks are just spectacular!
My first experience here was amazing. I love Frida, and the restaurant completely captures her essence. It's beautifully decorated and inviting. The food was delicious, and the portions were large enough for two meals. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. I can't wait to go back!

This place was awesome and the food was so delicious we ate every bite. My Philly omelette was so good and it was not all egg like a lot of places have.
Highly recommend first time eating here. We had breakfast and did dine-in. Friendly staff, great food, all was cooked correctly as we ordered it. I got the ribeye and one egg over medium, my husband got a gravy biscuit and livermush. Good portions. Very clean place to eat also and love the plastic silverware so you know its clean as well. Huge plus! And the sugar free syrup option. Places dont always have that. Will definitely be back.
Traveling and wanted a local maw and paw feel meal. This place was amazing. The place was clean, the atmosphere was very relaxed. What made it the best experience was our waitress Lacey!! Truly a sweet, personable woman who made us feel right at home in the most Hallmark movie way! ❤️

This place was INCREDIBLE!! I have been to a lot of the high end places in Charlotte (Beef n Bottle, Ruth's Chris, etc) and my partner and I agreed this was the best steak we have ever had in our lives!! We started with the mushroom tart and it was amazing - flaky pastry, savory mushrooms, gooey cheese, basically everything you could want in an appetizer. We both ordered the ribeye special, it came with asparagus and mashed potatoes, but I subbed mine for the potato croquette. The steak was literally the best steak I've ever had in my life, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned... Yum. Even the side items were amazing, which often isn't the case. The asparagus was also well seasoned and charred perfectly and the croquette was crispy and delicious. We ended up each getting a dessert (we took half of the steaks and potatoes home - it was even amazing heated up for lunch the next day!) He got the chocolate cake and I got the creme brulee. Perfect, perfect end to one of the best meals in my life
Early birthday dinner. We had reservations but noticed empty chairs at the bar, so we told the hostess we'd prefer to sit at the bar. Best decision! Nicky at the barcwas incredible. She was slammed and still personally stuffed the olives with blue cheese for our martinis. She guided us through the menu and helped us pick the best appetizers and entrees. She also let us try some wines before we picked one to complement our meals. We had the Cha cha shrimp and mussels for appetizers and the filet and crab cakes for our mains. Nickel made the whole experience special.
This is our favorite place to go eat! We love Meredith and Sue! They are amazing!
Alston Bridges Barbecue is a premier dining destination that brings the rich flavors of Southern barbecue to the heart of the community. Specializing in a variety of smoked meat…
When I was a young boy in the 60's and 70's this location and the other one on 74 were some of the best BBQ places in the state. Here is why ....they smoked it on hickory wood. I am not sure how they cook it now but it is not that way at either place. I am not sure what it is but sometimes we get the Q for 4 and take it home and it is pretty good, still not hickory smoked but its descent. The other day we stopped there to dine in wow what a difference. The meat was not good, very bland with no flavor and tasted like it was cooked in a crock pot. Also are you kidding me on the portion size, ordered a large plate and there is a couple spoonfuls of meat on it. I should have ordered the Q for 4 I would have got enough. Good people that work there very nice and I love the atmosphere. The huspuppies are the best in the entire country. I sure hope they don't change that. There are much better BBQ locations elsewhere where it is still cooked properly over hickory wood. Dine in portion size is what really gets me, if the food is bad at least serve enough to eat.
Food was average. For the price we paid, I expected our food to at least be served on real plates. I ordered a coffee and never got a refill. This restaurant kind of reminds me of a school kitchen, They cook everything in huge batches and slap it on a paper plate. The highlight of our meal was the baked beans, those were at least good.
Hush puppies are some of the best you’ll find. The slaw is outstanding. The BBQ itself is flavorful but dry without the sauce. The baked beans are a little too sweet for me but that’s just my preference. The service is top notch.
